You are in good hands with MAJ! We had moved outside the area and needed someone local to help us prep the house and handle the sale. Alissa and her team were great. Their plan included detailed update ideas and cost estimates, as well as budget options. Alissa did so much of the legwork. I know realtor fees are a hot topic these days but I do not, for a second, think that they did not earn their commission. A lot of hard work went into prepping this house for market.They also did a wonderful job navigating the offers and transaction. Alissa was always able to explain her decisions in a way that makes her seem like she really knows her market. We trusted her and it all paid off! Plus - Alissa, Jessica, and their team, are a pleasure to work with.

I highly recommend MAJ Realtors. Id long been impressed with how Jessica and Alyssa made the homes they were selling shine and stand out. When we interviewed them to sell our home, I loved how they balanced optimism with realism in talking about price and the market, the clear timeline and detailed information they provided about next steps, and (especially!) how they assembled a whole team to spruce up our home for the market, handling most of the details. We had a lot going on, so being able to rely on and trust that repairs, painting, marketing and all the rest would be done professionally and on time was such a relief. Jess or Alyssa were also always available for questions and when we hit some bumps in selling, Jess was calm, offered good advice, and never pressured us. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

This review is overdue! I first reached out to MAJ Realtors after meeting Alissa at a few open houses and seeing that she sold the kind of homes that Id like to live in. After an initial meeting, my partner and I began working with Alissa to purchase our second home and on the plan to sell our starter home in 2023. Navigating the market and waiting for the right home for us took a while. Alissa is an expert in real estate and was patient in helping us through multiple offers that werent successful. Shes thoughtful and took our requirements into consideration while also being realistic in her guidance. I am someone who likes to be in control. It is highly unusual that I trust someone so implicitly that I can let go. Jessica instilled that sense of trust. We had already bought another house when we contacted MAJ. we interviewed several firms but were most impressed by Jessica and Alissa. They agreed to our crazy timeline and pulled off an open house a week after we signed a contract with them. Throughout the process they gave smart and savvy counsel. Always hearing our concerns or questions. Always available. Our house was not a cookie cutter and it took about a month to sell. Alissa sold my house in record time. It was a difficult move for me as I had lived in the house for 21 years and was leaving our lovely neighborhood to be close to family on the east coast. She truly went above and beyond to support us through our first home purchase. As I’ve talked with others about their home buying experiences since then, I’ve realized that MAJ provides A+ service that is not typical for most real estate agencies.Jessica’s expertise was invaluable. She helped us understand what was typical and expected when looking through home disclosures, actually walking us through our first one from front to back. She was honest with us when she saw red flags in inspection reports. She has a very good sense of the current market and encouraged us to bid more competitively on certain homes and actually bid LESS on other homes. The home we wound up purchasing was one where she actually encouraged us to bid less than we were expecting, so we got it at an incredible “deal” that we felt very happy with.Jessica worked with our preferred mortgage broker with no issues at all. She was incredibly available for all our phone calls and “emergencies.” On the rare occasion she wasn’t available, she tapped another member of her team to step in when needed.In addition to all the logistics, Jessica was very patient with the emotional aspects of buying a home. We were referred from a friend who used MAJ to sell their home a few months before us in Oakland. When there were issues they dealt with them instead of putting the burden on us, which was awesome. When the house was ready to put on the market, they held 2 open houses and received several offers over the asking price. First time sellers, we had lived in our first home in El Cerrito for 16 years, and wanted to take the opportunity to move to another Bay Area community closer to work. My wife picked MAJ because of their solid reputation in our area. Jessica Waggoner was our representative, and she did a spectacular job, we were so pleased with the outcome. As soon as we were vacated from the house, Jess went into high gear and brought in her team to get our house and landscaping spruced up for sale (including painting, refinishing floors, etc.). The end result was impressive, and when her team was finished, my response to their choices, again and again, was why didnt I think of that?Afterwards she brought in a staging team that took it to the next level. We had the whole house staged, and in my mind, the extra expense was worth it. Our cluttered old house was transformed into eye candy, and in this difficult selling season, a lot of my concerns and fears about selling our home at a good price disappeared. In short, they brought out the best of what we had to offer.She put together a slick multimedia marketing package, scheduled a lot of showings and evaluated quality multiple offers within a short amount of time. And bear in mind, all of this during the Covid-19 crisis, working in a challenging market with a new restrictive set of rules for the first time, with no more open houses as in the good old days. You dont want to pick the wrong team when youre talking about making a million dollar deal (or more), so...What Im telling you is, if you want top dollar for your East Bay home, AND you want a low-stress experience while youre getting it, with a team that puts your experience as the homeowner first, then these ladies are. your. jam.SuperHubs and I had a long back and forth about selling our Oakland home. Like, a LONG back and forth – for five years. Then COVID arrived, our offices closed for what looked like eternity, and we came to instantaneous, harmonious agreement that IT WAS TIME (I guess we just needed a good ol shot in the arm of potential apocalypse to take the plunge – dunno).It was May 2020 when we started interviewing realtors, and we knew the decision to sell in the middle of a pandemic when the market had just basically come off a cold freeze came with a lot of risk, but we both *also* strongly believe that chaos is a ladder. Wed hatched a plan for our next phase of life, and we had to sell THEN. We just needed to work with the right team for us to feel good about it all.
