Had the most amazing experience with Maidu dental. Was traveling to the area for work and broke my tooth. Wasn’t sure what to do. My wife found Maidu online and they were able to fit me in the same day. I left there with a temporary crown and was told my permanent one would be ready for me before my departure—36 hours later. The dentist called me the first night to see how I was doing. That’s a first, I’ve never had a dentist call me personally. True to word, my permanent crown was ready the morning of my trip home. Once again thank you to all the staff for considerations and for making a very anxious patient comfortable. Still considering driving the 6 hrs up to have you guys become my family’s dentist. Thanks again

MAIDU DENTAL - This is THE place to go for dentistry in Auburn, Ca. The doctors and staff have compassion and really care about your dentistry journey. The are EXTREMELY professional and attentive to any and all details and your questions. I just had a tooth extraction last week and suffice to say it went without any discomfort. Dr. L. Markhams prep, procedure, and follow-up have been textbook. I highly recommend Maidu Dental for any and all your dental work. (SIX STARS!!!!!!)

For more than 25 years I had used a first class dentist in Los Altos. Because it was more convenient I am now using Maidu Dental in Auburn. I must say this was an excellent decision. I am extremely happy with the work done by Dr Markham and her team. I had 2 crowns just recently replaced. This was done quickly and to my full satisfaction .

Initially, I provided a five-star review for Maidu Dental (Dr. Luminita Markham). Dr. Markham guilted me into it stating if you give me a five-star review I will give you a $10 Starbucks gift card. As I explained to Dr. Markham, I do not need a gift card, I need you to make sure the work in my mouth is correct and I no longer must deal with additional dental issues. Dr. Markham did make me feel comfortable and helped with relieving my anxiety when she initially came into the exam room for the first visit. This is before any actual work is performed on me. At the time of my five-star review, no work had been performed by Dr. Luminita Markham.The weeks to follow with multiple appointments.• The dentist is more worried about upselling on Invisalign and any other unnecessary work to make extra money when the work is not needed on the patient.o I told Dr. Markham to let’s worry about my bridge/false teeth first.o I explained to the dentist per my Rheumatologist I was unable to have implants because I have both erosive osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis and my body would reject the implants, she continued to try and convince me to do the implants anyway. I finally held my ground and explained this is not an option to my Rheumatologist.o I let the dentist know the only option I have is a removable denture.o The dentist did not go over my options with regards to removable dentures; she started filing on my natural teeth and I had to stop her and ask what she was doing. She stated that she had to file on my natural teeth to hold the removable denture. I questioned her because my daughter recently had a removable denture placed in her mouth and did not have to have her natural teeth ground down. The dentist stated that she was placing a removable denture where the metal would hook to my back teeth.o The dentist did not go over what she was until I stopped her from continuing to drill on my back tooth. She stated that she needed to place a crown on the back left tooth to make sure it was good and strong enough to hold the metal retainer of three fake teeth down.o The retainer does not fit.o The dentist continued to sand down my natural teeth to get a man-made appliance to fit in my mouth which never did.o They are too busy trying to get you to agree everything feels fine when you are completely numb.o I want a full refund for the work performed on me.• Pressured into writing a five-star review before having any work done on my mouth by the dentist.• The dentist does not do all the work herself. The only thing that Dr. Markham does is remove a cavity or file down your natural teeth to allow for an appliance that was not fitted correctly to my mouth; therefore, the dentist filed down my natural teeth to fit it in my mouth which caused additional problems. I had to ask her to stop because she continued hitting a nerve on a good tooth.• Support staff do the fillings, fit, and cement crowns and they always come out off. Instead of the dentist doing the job herself as she did years ago, she allows an employee who is not a Dentist to practice on your mouth. Doesn’t care if the work isn’t correct.• Dr. Markham was an in-network dentist when I initially saw her, and she referred me to Dr. Ahmad for the extraction of my two teeth and bone build-up. When I returned to see Dr. Markham, I had no idea she decided to drop all insurance carriers to recoup her lost revenue because of COVID-19.• Dr. Markham do the right thing and refund my money and do not charge me as an out-of-network provider when you were in-network and referred me to INNOVA Dental (Dr. Ahmad’s office).• I have filed a complaint with Delta Dental & UCCI Dental about poor workmanship and balance billing.• The dentists office states that Delta Dental sent a check to me; however, I have not received any money from Delta Dental. The dentists office went on to further state that they called Delta Dental to inquire if I cashed the check from them. They were told no check had been cashed.

Most thorough and professional dentist I have experienced ever. All the staff exceeded my expectations. Earl the staff makes sure I’m comfortable and understand every step with every encounter. I am afraid of needles, I get super anxious and the special technology and techniques used to numb my mouth was amazing. I felt nothing. The facility also is high tech and up to date, from televisions, to wireless x-rays, to cameras and digital photos. It honestly blew my mind the level of pride this dentistry has for their industry and customers. This experience was the first time I have actually felt inspired to floss more frequently and improve my eating habits to prolong the longevity of my teeth. I am a business owner and I understand what it takes to operate at such a high quality service. What impresses me is how the business is run so well not just from a dental perspective but from a business perspective. I’m new to Maidu Dental, and I don’t want to go anywhere else ever again. Last point; Dr. Luminita is so kind and pleasant. She really knows her stuff and I can tell she really wants the best experience for all her clients. I would highly recommend Maidu Dental. I have bad anxiety about going to the dentist. I broke my front tooth over the weekend. My dentist that I last saw 3 years ago couldn’t get me in. So, I started looking for a dentist that could get me in. I saw they worked with people who have bad anxiety about the dentist. They were so good about making sure I was okay through the hole experience. The doctor and staff are so awesome. I will be seeing the dentist more regularly now that I’ve found them.

Im BEYOND impressed and happy with my results! I had two front teeth that were badly chipped. I called Maidu for a consultation, and they were able to fit me in quickly with my work schedule. I was comfortable with the the entire staff, and made my appointment within a week. Just got home, and I cant say enough on how perfect my teeth look!!!!! Danielle did an AMAZING job! My sons front tooth was broken straight across, horizontally, at school. I called and emailed multiple places to get him seen ASAP. Many didnt respond or would tell me they couldnt see him until the middle of next week. He was really embarrassed by how it looked, and we didnt want to wait. Maidu Dental was extremely helpful, giving me first aid advice over the phone, quoting a price estimate for worst- and best-case scenarios, and emailed and called me right away. Dr. Markham stayed and took our appointment after they normally would. Dr. Markham and all of the staff were great with my son, explained everything thoroughly, and his tooth looks perfectly matched. He said it didnt hurt at all (even the anesthesia shot in his front gums), and his tooth looks better than before it broke. They gave us ibuprofen, so we didnt have to go to the pharmacy after already having a rough day. I think we found our new family dentist. Highly recommended

I’ve been going to Maidu Dental for approximately four years and not once have I had a bad experience. Office staff is very proficient & friendly, all Dental Hygienist’s in the office go above and beyond any cleaning I’ve ever had, Dr. Luminita Markham is the best!!! I had a twenty-five year old crown replace last year and I know it wasn’t easy to do but I never felt any discomfort or pain during or after the procedure. Everyone is very kind and patient at Maidu Dental. All staff and doctors make sure I am as comfortable as possible. If I am uncomfortable at any moment they stop immediately, and give me as much time as I need. The dentist is not my favorite place to be in general, but they definitely make me feel more comfortable when going. This place is state of the art, one of the most advanced dental facilities I have ever seen. I was never in any pain I was always informed About the procedures, and I was watching a movie! What!Dr. Markham is the orthodontist that orchestrates this wonderful technological miracle With Her old world charm, right in front of your eyes. I received two crowns and a filling in the matter of a couple of hours all while being pampered by Angels. Her assistants are both lovely and talented and concerned only about you And your comfort. All the while educating you about instruments that you may, never have seen before.The crowns were made right there in the facility and when I walked out the door Everything was complete no return necessary. I find that truly amazing and I love my new crowns that were fitted perfectly. My bite is better than ever before and at age 67 that’s still quite important.I’m very happy to recommend Maidu Dental and realize I have found my new home for dental care.Truly thank you, Dr Markham and your wonderful staff of angles. Maidu dental pressured me to get work done that other dental offices have never mentioned as being necessary at all. When I was seeing Maidu dental every single time I went in they said I needed some work done, sometimes major work. I’ve been going to other dentists for the past five years and I have not had anything done and I have been just fine. This office is friendly, comfortable and state of the art but they get all that money for state of the art stuff by doing unnecessary services.

I had my cleaning done with Quin and she is amazing. Not only was she gentle but very thorough. I generally am relaxed at the dentist, but I could have fallen asleep in the chair! This is by far the best dental office Ive ever been to. They are very efficient (you do not wait in between your different procedures..they orchestrate the flow super well), very professional (with attention to every detail, knowledgable on all fronts), super technical (using latest tech for screening potential cavities, or other serious tissue problems) with a friendly approach (that makes the patients feel like they are well taken care of!). I found Maidu Dental on google and I am so glad I did.I have been very embarrassed for the last 10 years about my teeth and smile so embarrassed I avoided dentist all together. I finally had no choice but to go.From the moment I called Maidu Dental I was treated with the upmost respect. Melissa was the first one I spoke with and right away I knew this was the place to go. She took over and verified my insurance and made everything so easy.When I went for my appointment from the minute I walked in the door I felt very at ease and comfortable.Dr. Markham is AMAZING she thoroughly Examined me and gave me several options to fix my issues. Her assistant is FABULOUS TOO! OK so I feel like I had been living in the dark ages with my previous dentist. Couldn’t be happier that I’ve moved over to Maidu dental. Just got a crown finished in one day. No temporary that had to be removed in two weeks and replaced. The staff and the doctor are amazing. Kudos to everyone, actually looking forward to going to the dentist from now on. My wife and I have been with Maidu dental for the last five or so years. Dr. Markham is awesome as are the rest of the staff. My two young kids go here as well and have no real fear of the dentist that I had as a child. The office is clean and professional and they take great care of their patients all around. Autonomy is incredibly important for an honest office to have, I wasn’t given much of a say and was written off by the doctor and front office after asking simple questions. I came in because another dentist had told me I needed to have 12 fillings, after new x rays at Maidu I only needed about half that. The nun I g process was easy and painless, the dental team did a great job at keeping me comfortable for such a long visit. I was distracted by Netflix which was provided and they even fixed a broken tooth I had since I was very young. They are an amazing staff who you can tell genuinely cares about their patients and the work they do on your teeth. If you have any dental anxiety I highly recommend this office.

Imagine, if you can, a dancer, every movement exact, every movement precise, every movement focused, consciousness and energy whirling all about you. Literally a dental ballet. That is Dr. Markham... I was quite literally stunned by her grace and laser like focus. Painless, kind, and gentle, as his her entire staff. I actually enjoyed my entire experience because it was so filled with consciousness and caring. They are NO LONGER AN IN-NETWORK PROVIDER FOR DELTA DENTAL! The office will not tell you upfront that their status with Delta Dental insurance has changed! They will tell you theres a process change where you have to pay up front and Delta Dental will re-imburse you. BEWARE that insurance coverage for an out of network provider is much lower than an in-network provider, and you will be stuck with what could be a SIGNIFICANT BILL! Shame on Dr. Markham and Maidu Dental for not being upfront and honest with their (now former) patients! Very un-ethical business acumen!

I recently was in the office to have my teeth cleaned and checked. Everyone is so friendly and very knowledgeable I was impressed with my visit! Tina the hygienist was so friendly, gentle but very thorough and very informative she even offered whitening options and whitening for life as long as I stayed on schedule with her. Its difficult for a non-professional to know whether theyre getting good work done, whether its from an auto mechanic or a dentist. Its great when staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable...but you can still wonder if the service being performed is being done well. I dont wonder about that with Maidu Dental - Ive been going there for many years, and Ive been amazed and pleasantly surprised at their level of service, technology, and professionalism. Dr. Markham is about as sweet as they come, fun to chat with and very gentle....however, behind all that Ive enough of what shes said to tell theres a steely interior that makes certain that everything is prepared, documented, and done correctly, taking personal responsibility for the overall execution of tasks within her practice. I very much like that they always have the latest technology, AND take the time to explain the benefits of it. I feel like my dental care is in very good hands at Maidu.

I came in to get a wisdom tooth pulled, and I was a nervous wreck. From the get go they answered any questions/concerns I had and were super knowledgeable and happy to help. I requested to be sedated and was given nitrous, which helped take the edge off. I was also given headphones so I could listen to music. During the actual procedure, Dr. Markham made sure I was comfortable and was very friendly and professional. She made extra sure I was properly numbed, and made the whole procedure go smooth, painless, and quick. I was actually shocked at how quick and painless the whole thing was due to bad experiences at other dentists in the past. Afterwards, they discussed post-op care and continued to answer any questions or concerns I had. Overall, the whole experience really showed how kind and professional Dr. Markham and the whole Maidu dental staff are. I’ll never go to any other dentist again. Thank you Maidu Dental!

I was in the market for a new dentist and had heard that Dr. Markham was fantastic. I had planned on making an appointment for a checkup and cleaning. Then, out of the blue I had an old filling fail, I called the office at 8:00 am and they scheduled me for a 10:40 appointment on the same day. The office is state of the art, with on-site equipment for creating crowns, no temporary required! I had an amazing dentist before I moved to Auburn and I was worried that no dentist would ever compare. Dr. Markham and her staff proved me wrong -- they are absolutely amazing! Not only is the office pristine, but every tool is state-of-the-art. Dr. Markham has spared no expense in the technology. I had fillings done today and the anesthetic was administered with a computerized syringe that allowed for a slow, controlled injection. It didnt hurt at all and it wore off much faster than usual after the procedure. This is one of many examples. Tina, my dental hygienist, is amazing. She uses a sonic scalar and is gentle yet meticulous. The staff is so welcoming, and they think of everything -- from asking you if you want to watch Netflix while you wait for a procedure, to putting chap stick on your lips during a procedure, or asking you if you want a warm blanket, putting phone chargers in the waiting room... the list goes on and on. Impressive quality of service. My wife was an RDA for 20 years and won’t let just anyone touch our teeth. My son had ground his teeth flat and they were replaced with beautiful crowns. My initial appointment and consultation was very impressive. Top of the line, state of the Art equipment and office. Staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. They explained everything. I was given a complete description of everything that was going on with my teeth and gums, then given several option on how to proceed. A complete estimate of cost was then supplied for further decision making. In addition, they had already checked with my insurance to give me accurate pricing. Hands down the best dental experience I have ever had!! Dr. Markham and her staff are absolutely exceptional in every way. Everyone took the time to get to know me, and my concerns, and really made me feel important. Before coming to Maidu Dental, I had been experiencing some very uncomfortable sensitivity, but I attended regular dental visits and was assured by my prior dentist that I was cavity free. (Which was not the case) Dr. Markham was very thorough in explaining all the cavities that I had and showed them to me on the xrays and on photographs. She even took pictures throughout the procedure to show me exactly how deep the cavities were (which is why I was having sensitivity).The BEST part about coming to Maidu Dental is Dr. Markham’s fancy dental syringe, which delivers PAINLESS injections; I honestly didn’t feel a thing!! Fully confident in Maidu dental. I’ve always been a bit dentist averse and they give 200% when it comes to pain control and any nervousness. The staff treats you like you’re family, constantly checking if you’re ok following up afterwards by phone. I never thought there was such a thing as loving your dentist office, but there is! Maidu Dental uses all the latest technologies to make your visit as easy and pain-free as possible. Their shot gun is way less painful than traditional shots. They set you up to watch Netflix while your fillings and other long procedures are happening. They are always up-front about costs, and never try to pressure you into additional procedures (but always let you know whats available). I tell all my friends to go here!

I had hopes when I came to this dentist, we moved to the area 2 years ago, this review is very genuine and I wish I didnt have to write it.. I had come here for cleaning after many unnecessary x-rays they charged me about $260 out of pocket for cleaning without letting me know ahead of time that my insurance wasnt going to cover a lot. We had just changed insurance few months prior so we didnt know, it was our first time being at the dentist since the change . They failed to communicate that. The whole thing costed about $340 my insurance covered about $80 anyways thats not even the worse part! They also told me I needed 9 crowns and 3 filling so it would cost me about 15k, anyone who I was telling this to was shocked, couldnt believe it. So we decided to go to the bay area to my old dentist for second opinion. My dentist said my teeth need some work but they are stable, there has been no change since 2012 and she doesnt think any of the stuff this dentist recommending is necessarily, she was also very surprised I paid so much for a cleaning. Their office only charge under $200 for both cleaning and exam. After this experience I canceled my husband appointment with them, we both decided to travel twice a year to bay area for cleaning just to see our old dentist. Please be aware that this office only wants your money.

Let me tell you when I walked into Maidu Dental just for the initial visit I was shaking and extremely nervous. The entire staff went above and beyond to settle my nerves. They understood why I was nervous and scared and listened to me. I can’t tell you enough how amazing they were. Everyone there was friendly and gentle. I recently had some work done, and I was scared! As soon as I came in and sat down they were very reassuring that they will be very gentle. They helped me to achieve enough sedation that I didn’t feel a thing yet still able to know what was going on. There was no pain afterwards also. This is THE BEST group of people I have ever met for Dental work. I will definitely say that I am way less scared and anxious now of the dentist. Review update: The staff are still 5 stars. However, their GOOD-FAITH insurance estimates are horribly inaccurate. If you are out of network be very careful. Highly recommend having a pre-authorization done before having any work done here. Dont believe any estimate until you personally speak to your insurance company. Learned the hard way, extra $800.00. I can’t say enough about the professionalism of the entire staff. I truly felt cared for, and that I was important, regardless of my dental health. If the process of getting old fillings removed and replaced can be comfortable, that was achieved. A laser apparatus that could detect with precision any oncoming decay and to what degree it is encroaching was used as part of my previous cleaning appointment! I get major anxiety when it comes to doctors and dentists. Like the sweating, shaking, nightmares a week before, kind of anxiety. I hate getting scolded. I hate feeling like a loser for having a cavity. I am very happy with the staff at maidu dental. They put me on the right track to keeping a great healthy smile. It had been at least seven years since I had been to a dentist so I knew there would be some issues. I came here after some research and a positive recommendation and im glad I did. They explained everything they needed to do in detail and took the time to show me why with my oral pictures in front of me. Some of the procedures I had required anaesthetic and I hate shots in my mouth more than anything. But i was pretty comfortable through it all. This place and its staff are awesome.

A few weeks ago, I was seen by Dr. Lumi for the first time. I had a chipped front tooth. Let me start by saying that I am extremely picky and scepticle about who works on my front teeth. I’ve seen people who’s front teeth look opaque looking and not shaped right (aka chiclets, no thank you!). Before coming in, I had seen Dr. Lumi’s work through other patients and was impressed so decided to make an appointment. My experience in the office far exceeded my expectations! I was very disappointed with this dentist. They were very unclear and almost shady about what would be covered with my health insurance. When I called I made it very clear that I found them through my network and wanted to make sure I was covered.They made me put a deposit prior to the appointment, then when I showed up I found out that I wasnt going to be covered! I had made the appointment a month before, but they chose to wait until that morning to tell me. Because I was already there and knew I wouldnt get my deposit back I went along with it because I really needed to get my teeth cleaned. I found out halfway through the appointment that they werent even going to clean my teeth. It was an introductory visit where they took about a million pictures of my teeth and then tried to upsell me on whitening and a gum graft (which my next dentist did not recommend btw).Turns out that they came up in my health insurance because of the orthodontist who was in network and had the same last name. $300 dollars later and I didnt even get my teeth cleaned! To top things off, when I did get my teeth cleaned (at a different provider), my insurance wouldnt cover that either because it was within 6 months of the previous appointment.I rarely write bad reviews, but I felt it was necessary. I felt very taken advantage of with this dentist and I would not recommend.

She did 5 crowns, 4 had to be root-canaled by a specialist. I was in office for 8 hrs with nitrous and novacaine; after the first prep day (for the crowns) I blacked out in my car on my way home - at home, I lost consciousness and ended up in an ambulance and at the ER: anesthetic toxicity! - She caused permanent facial damage, leaving me with severe pain on both sides of my face. She never finished polishing the crowns, didnt correct the bite (the specialist ended up doing that) after going in several times because of pain - she said it would all go away. It didnt. I also paid for a mockup that was never finished... I trusted her to resolve the pain in my mouth. I will regret that forever. Dont be swayed by her soft voice. Dont be swayed by their recommendations. Dont go!! She cost us over 17,000.

I went here for a chipped tooth and then a routine cleaning the next day. Ive been to 4 different dentist offices and this is by far the cleanest, nicest, most professional & friendly place I have ever been to. I would recommend anyone to come here for any issue! Doctor Marcum and her staff were great. They have the latest technology like a computerized numbing injector. No stinging like the old way of getting numb wit the needle. I retract all that I said previously. I will be moving all of my family to another dentist. I will say that the pressure to add more treatment (at very high rates) is a serious issue to me and others. My mother (67yrs old) was told she needed Invisalign! Really!?!? She has one tooth (on the bottom row that is slightly crooked, and cant even be seen. Just another ploy to get more $ out of the patient. I have spent too much time writing this already. I am on my way to watch paint dry or grass grow, that will be a better use of my time.

I was extremely unhappy with this office. I booked a dental cleaning, and when I got there, I received a completely different service. All they could say was Sorry. No refund, no attempt to make it right. It was an issue that could have been resolved simply, but I guess I just wasnt worth it.

I was in the area visiting friends and I woke up with a swollen jaw one morning. I did not know where to turn so I found this place on the internet. They agree to see me in the next two hours and that meant a lot to me. Dr Markham did a procedure to stop the inflammation and put me on pain killers right away. She really seemed to care. I would use them again if I lived in the Sacramento area.
