Mackenzie guided my husband, son, and me through the most challenging event of my life. I can’t express how grateful I am for Mackenzie’s care from our first interview up to this day. It was a long road to find my way to her. I had worked with two other midwife teams prior to finding her, thinking I was receiving the support I needed until something happened with each team that revealed neither was the right fit. My second midwife recommended Mackenzie, and our Zoom interview went so well (I was pregnant in 2020/height of Covid). I immediately recognized and appreciated her balance – she listened to my concerns/goals for my pregnancy and birth experience, offered natural and holistic care, but also offered conventional options at home (like IV antibiotics if needed). This all made me feel secure that I could have the best possible chance to give birth at home. Having a homebirth midwife is so wonderful because you have direct access to your provider, able to text/call any time with questions or concerns. Mackenzie genuinely validated my feelings, never felt cheesy, and was very encouraging with sound advice. I just clicked with her so well and felt so confident in the care I was receiving from her, so confident that I could do this successfully at home. Labor and birth, as mind-blowingly intense, painful, and challenging as it was, went very well. I had some bleeding after my son was born because the placenta didn’t fully detach from my uterus. Mackenzie maintained control the whole time, sprang into action while remaining calm and collected, and managed the situation safely and beautifully. I trusted her completely and really appreciated the extensive post partum care I received from Mackenzie and her assisting midwife, Ariana. These midwives, along with my doula and husband, truly made the birth dream team I wanted, and I couldn’t be more grateful.My son was born with a lip and tongue tie, and he had trouble latching. Mackenzie connected us with a lactation consultant (who also welcomed me into a wonderful mom/baby community that I am still a part of today) and another mom client who donated breast milk to us until we were able to master breastfeeding on our own three months later. We received so much support from Mackenzie, both in goods/services/networking as well as emotionally during this very tender time. Mackenzie is simply the best, and we’re so thankful she’s a part of our lives. My son is now two years old, and it feels like such a privilege to reflect on our birth story and his loving entrance into this world. Thank you, Mackenzie. You are a bright light and true gift. ❤️

We had the most amazing experience with Mackenzie for my first birth. I felt so heard during our long personalized prenatal appointments in the comfort of my home, and by the time the birth was upon us she felt like a part of our family. Even my dogs had grown to look forward to her visits. Her calm, reassuring presence made the birth itself feel like a well choreographed dance, and I felt so safe and supported due to her knowledge and experience. The information provided during our several postpartum visits was so invaluable, and she truly went above and beyond to provide us with everything we could need and more. She had a way of not just doling out information, but providing us with knowledge that made my husband and I both feel so confident in the care of our newborn during those early days. Mackenzie is a truly caring individual, and choosing her for your midwifery care would be the greatest decision.

Where to begin. Mackenzie is everything we (or anyone I would imagine) could want in a midwife. She is…Professional: Each Apt she arrives with her computer ready to take detailed notes on your physical and mental health and follow up with topics from the previous Apt. Perform normal exams to check baby and mom. She respects your home, communicates clearly and explains what your options are at each stage of pregnancy. She also communicates well with any other care professionals you may need to work with.Passionate: Mackenzie is meant to be a midwife! This is her life’s work and it shows. She is available 24/7 for texts and calls and genuinely is interested in the family and baby. She cares about each birth journey deep leg and wants the best for each family.Supportive: I never felt like she told me what to do, I always felt she explained options and fully supported me with what we chose. I didn’t even really know what her options where unless I asked. That’s some epic support. She guided us on the journey the way we wanted. She also knew when it was time to step in and take the lead when safety was a concern yet still support us even if it wasn’t a choice I was excited about.Knowledgeable: she knows SO MUCH! And she will share articles and documents with even more reading material. She is a resource that has amazing connections for both birth and postpartum all over the Sacramento and Navada city area. She just knows it all!Going into this I remember loving her energy and professionalism. Now I love so much more. We had planned a home birth however after many days of labor Mackenzie made the vital and hard decisions for the health of myself and our baby to for us to go to a hospital. She then provided the most incredible post partum care for our family I could ever ask for. I honestly don’t know if we would have made it through those early weeks with out her. She was my rock and the strong foundation that build our family those weeks after our baby was born.If she is your midwife what you get is a strong start to your baby’s life as a family.

Mackenzie is heaven sent. She is perfect combo of high vibration and extensive medical expertise. Mackenzie is skilled with blood draws, IVs, sutures, and medical emergencies. She is a sweet soul and you are lucky if you get to experience her!
