Ace Hardware is my go-to for home and business equipment and supplies. The staff is really friendly and they can order things that may not be in stock. This location is perfect for downtown. Parking and access is easy. Ive had them help me with making keys. They do a much better job than the automatic machines you find at the big box stores. They provide other services like screen repairs. I love supporting locally owned businesses!

This place has the most helpful staff ever. I went in with a strange sized bolt needing the nut (I needed 10) and asked for help finding it and with a smile was helped. Id previously gone to home depot and lowes where the staff, well, neither store seemingly had this particular bolts companion nut. This is now my go to store for my fixer projects.

So, I never thought that I would write a review about a hardware store, but here I am. I was such a delightful experience that I feel compelled to do so. The customer service was ridiculously excellent. Immediately upon entering one of the employees asked us how he could help, told us that what we were looking for was upstairs then ran to get three versions of it at different price points. When we went to check out the one person was running two cash registers so no one felt like they were actually standing in line. They were just so super nice, competent and helpful. I love this store.

The older gentleman thats tall was extremely helpful and his whole attitude towards me made me feel like I was supposed to be there. I have been in this same Ace Hardware before and was followed around the store by multiple staff while being constantly asked the same question over and over again can I help you find something specific? What is it you are exactly looking to buy?? Feeling overwhelmed almost every time I usually exited the store before even finding what I was looking for to begin with. So this last time I went totally made me think and feel completely different about this store. This employee was non judgemental and helpful beyond anything I would normally ask for and Im grateful for that! As for the store and the items, I find Ace to carry a way more broad inventory then most other hardware stores in the area!!

Lately after me going to Ace hardware has been a challenge for me since I really dont live as close as I use to even though the people seem nice the problem occurred when I went in the other day to purchase something and of course the worker seemed kind and went and got it however after getting back home and today was the day I went to use it there was a huge problem wheres the cord that attaches tothe nozzle spray and the bottle so you can use it oh I know some where in the store and the gallon of spray was opened as well so that wasnt very courteous of the workerdo have sold an item like to me that was defective and so I am posting this in hopes that since you thought you could get away with this Dont worry God will take care of it

The staff are all 100% present, available for guidance and courteous. This is a downtown area, so the neighborhood can be sketchy, but I feel safe and sound, as they keep an eye on their parking lot, which is ample and close to the entrance. Their sidewalk SALE section has hidden finds and old hardware for commercial and residential applications, such as hinges, paint samples and cleaning supplies For being a smaller location, they have most of the essentials in stock and usually have lumber, for any last minute extras for General construction gigs. Plumbing, electrical, canning & gardening sections are all amply represented. I rarely have to leave the site zone, as my favorite, local Ace hardware is walking distance and always stocked for what I may need, while doing handyman tasks for my friends and neighbors.

This is probably one of the most helpful and friendly places I have shopped in a long time. It really does have one of those neighborhood shops where they are happy to help you, the way shop owners used to be long ago. Greeting you upon entry and if you have a question, they are quick in offering to help.However, with it being a neighborhood store, Id like to see them install a bike rack outside. I rode my bike and had no place to lock it. I was allowed to take my bike in with me, but my rather large bike made it somewhat challenging to move around the store. One of the employees asked me what I needed then said he would get my items while I waited up front with my bike. They really know how to take care of the customer.I rarely, if ever give 5 stars but in my opinion they deserve it. From all the conversations, smiles and laughter I observed that day, Id say this is their regular standard of care.

Go here if you need advice or want to ask questions. Two negatives, 1) women tend to be behind the counter, men are helpers on the floor - super 1970s sexism. 2) The shop floor helpers tail you around either from idleness or to deter theft. Hard to get used to a 6ft man tailing me when all I want is glue!*must be that they are overstaffed because Im apparently not allowed to walk around the store by myself. If its not a tail then I have every employer bellowing do you need help. Am I not allowed to shop in peace? I am bloody capable of asking for help when I need it.If you need a guide every time you enter the store, maybe the store isnt set up with the customer in mind!

Its amazing how much they pack into such a small space. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I come here for pieces and parts and getting keys made. They have a decent tool selection as well which is pretty good for such a small place. Easy parking out front. Very well organized. Top notch.

I am a regular customer at this store because they are local and most helpful. Many times Ive checked online prices while in store and found their prices better. Bring in your project list or ideas and theyll help get you started. Store manager Phillip is very courteous, as is the staff. Highly recommend over big box stores!UPDATE... 9 years ago I was greeted by the new and young store manager within 15 seconds, courtesy exceeded expectations as Phil gently interupted his current customer to acknowledge me nod and Ill be right with you, and he was. BTW, the place was busy, as usual. So Itd been almost two years since surgery that kept me from much toolin, but a small project led me here. And sure enough, theres Phil, smiling a welcome and offering a hand. The store hasnt changed much; you can still get a bottle of Flitz, GoJo, Zud, and Naptha, all within 10 feet of each other. One aisle North, you gotz yer Duck, Scotch, dupont, 3M, Gorilla, and in chartreuse or lime green, we find IPG painters tape. MY Point? We just covered 3/4 of a mile at Home Depot in about 23 steps to the no wait payment counter. Nice job Phil. Still the best, consistently, a decade later.

Had an amazing experience at this store when I stopped in to get various switch plates for a project. Specifically, the employee Josue approached me as soon as I walked in the store and ask if there was anything I needed. I showed him all the old plates I wanted replacements for and rather than just walking me over to the aisle, he automatically started picking out each replacement for me (and there were lots)! He helped make a potentially very long stop WAY shorter for me. THIS is the difference between shopping small / local versus big box stores.

RUDE PEOPLE who follow you around due to tattoos. I showed an employee a hundred dollar bill I had in my hand as I shopped, and he replied with its probably fake. Once again, I have never stolen from this store and went on to buy a variety of things. When I complained about my treatment, I was told usually people who walk around are suspicious, and i had a fanny pack on which means Im stealing some how.I felt degraded and less than.The shop itself is crowded and overpriced with a mediocrity selection.Avoid this place like you avoid ebola.

This place is always a pleasure to go to! Ive been in Long Beach off and on for 3 years and literally theres not been one time that Ive been there that I have not received 10 star service! My most recent trip involved looking for mounting tape for my canvases. Im walking around the store completely lost as to what product to buy while holding a variety of tapes in my arms. The manager by the name of Stephanie approached me asking me what she could help with and she took time to bring me down 2 to 3 aisles showing me all the variety of products while giving me explanations about what works and what doesnt based upon her own experiences. We stood there in the aisles talking about the size of my canvases, the surfaces that they were going on etc. Stephanie was so on point and so thoroughly detailed in her service provided. She then went on to say that any mounting products bought could be returned if they didnt work, which was further impressive because typically if you have used a product at any store they will not take it back. Overall I felt like I was shopping with a friend, thats the level of kindness, enthusiasm and support I got from Stephanie. I stand in so much gratitude for her as a manager and the rest of the employees at that store! Thank you for raising my vibration and making me smile from ear to ear! Thank you for reinstalling my confidence when it comes to hanging photos in my new home! Looking forward to shop with you again!

This place is unique by itself in every way possible. The employees are all helpful with every customer. Usually my girl goes in to do the buying and I stay with the children . Since shes the one with the ideas and concepts of every project. But today I went in to buy a wet vac and I didnt that they had so many employees helping out all the customers. I needed to get some black high heat brush on paint today as the painter said he can paint the inside of our fireplace today. I went to four places by my house and no one had it. I googled it and the Ace in Long Beach store came up as having in stock. I called and the gal that answered the phone checked for me and said she would hold it at the front. I drove the 23 miles to get it and it was there. All of those I encountered at this store were so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend!!The drive was in actually kinda nice as traffic wasnt bad and Long Beach is a lovely community.

Service Service Service!!!!!Ive never been to a hardware that has had staff on point not just 1, 2, or 3 workers all asking to help and will stick helping till you completely dont need help anymore.Store is small but they carry most items needed, well stocked, clean, and the staff if just amazing 100%. THANK YOU to the employees of this store. Jason in the workshop helped us tremendously to drill some holes in a square tube of steel. We really needed it last minute and he was able to help us in a pinch. The cashier (I didn’t get her name) was so nice and friendly and helped us with a return that couldn’t be found in the computer system. We saw her the next day in the aisles and she said hello to us. I JUST LOVE this store! It is small, but packed with everything Ive ever needed or wanted. I think ONCE they didnt have what I wanted. I always check them first before heading off to Home D or other. Whenever I call to check about an item, the service people are very courteous and helpful. I always hated having to go to the hardware store until I found this place, theyre wonderful! First of all its obviously a family run place, so its common to have your purchases rung up by a 12 year old (a very business like, professional 12 year old, I should add!!) which, alone, should brighten up anyones day. Beyond that, everyone who works there is so helpful, outgoing and friendly. Just today I went there to buy 2 items and they gave me a gift with purchase. Who knows, probably something they had to get rid of anyway but it still felt like a great gesture, and made me feel totally appreciated as a customer, so good on them!

This quaint store offers to you great service, clean aisle & for my first visit a surprising knowledgeable salesperson. I was only in to get a few things which is why I picked this hardware store and not one of the big boxes. ALWAYS greeted by an employee as soon as I walk in and asked if I need help. It is smallish, but that makes it more convenient in some ways. They dont carry alot of the big stuff, but theyll have what you need when you forget the smaller things. Be prepared to pay a few cents more, but the added cost is well worth it.

If youre anything other than from a white ethnicity this place is extremely racist and have no problem discriminating against other races. I came in to do an exchange for something I bought there the prior day and before I went to swap it out because I was standing in the two different aisles for no more than 10 minutes and was directly labeled a thief although receipt in hand. They wont prevent you from shopping or will make your experience any worse, regardless of what you believe in. Unless you walk into any store with an agenda, youll probably never cross into the politics.Not the biggest selection and parking could be an issue, but all forgivable.And cockroaches?! Really? The best thing about this Ace Hardware is the staff. Anyone can open up a hardware store and sell paint & tools but this Ace Hardware sets itself apart because if you have a question or are unsure about what you need to get your job done there is always someone at the ready to solve your problem. They used to, and sometimes still, have a great crew, however in the last 6 months or so there is a group that are more intetested in each other than helping. Case in point, bought a power drill, told them I was a newbie, asked what I needed to get to make a complete set for most low skill home projects. Was sent home with a set of 4 drill bits to make holes.. I needed much more, like all of the bits to use on screws, the extender things to hold them... got the rest at Home Depot when I realized I could only do one thing with my new drill. If you go to this location and actually need some guidance and the crew there is standing enmasse together, laughing like a group of kids at a bar, come back at another shift for the helpful crew.

The ones that have stood the test of time, its Ace. Now not every Ace is the same, but for the most part you can guarantee a happy bunch of employees and always willing to help. I used to shop here a lot. I have an entire house rehab coming up and could have used this store, but they will never get another dime from me due to the fact that felt the need to take political stance against medical marijuana. As a 50 something your old patient I find this beyond offensive. The manager confirmed this to me and accused me of harassing him for expressing my disappointment of their stance against patents. Why a hardware store feels the need to discriminate against legal medical marijuana patients is beyond my comprehension, but needless to say I will no longer shop there.
