Great park for kids and families. Located directly behind the library. There’s street parking available. It’s a well maintained park with lots of trees that provide shade and plenty of benches and tables to sit on. Perfect for picnic lunches or gatherings. It’s also walking distance to local businesses for shopping or restaurants

This is a beautiful park! My son proposed to his wife at the fountain and it was a lovely experience! The park is so peaceful with gorgeous trees all around and the nostalgic shop lined Myrtle Street to the east. We love coming here and spending the day and trying different shops each time.

Been here since the beginning! It’s always clean and watched over! It’s safe and I’m glad I’ve been able to experience what it has to offer. Also, I love the groups are able able to come and express themselves and do what they love! The trees, grass and bushes are beautiful. The fountain is gorgeous and I love the many options of benches to pick from!

It’s an open park in the cute town of Monrovia. They are putting up more shade structures and there is a large green lawn around this area. It’s gated so kids can be safer. It’s vibrant and happy! I wished there were more trees though.

Great play gound. Toddlers slide and play area. As well as 3 more fun areas to climb, slide, swing, and glide. The floor feels amazing under your shoes. Made on a think rubber foam. If they fall, all is good. We were able to order pizza delivery to a particular location like Ill be at the swings with a green top. Within 20 minutes we got our order. Fun day!

This playground/park is directly behind the Monrovia Library on Myrtle. It included a well designed almost circularly enclosed small playground for all ages. The park has shade and benches. The benches are well placed. They provide parent(s) the ability to see his/her child from most/all angles.

I went to the Jewish food festival on a whim which was located here. Not only was I introduced to an astounding variety of foods, people, and music, it was in an incredibly picturesque environment. The grounds are very well maintained with incredibly beautiful flowers, ancient and interesting trees, and a beautiful fountain.

Always a fun place to take the kids. We enjoy going to the library, playing in the park, hanging out by the fountain and picnicking on the grass. Its always clean and spacious. Not over crowded. We really enjoy coming for the holiday events as well. It feels so festive and lively.

I wanted to have my lunch at a park and ended up in the park area behind the library. (Google brought me here.) I was disappointed to find what seemed to be an unkept park with extremely dirty picnic tables. But I was hungry so I located a table that wasnt to bad, laid down some napkins, and then my lunch. As I ate, I did enjoy watching the squirrels. The front area of the library looks nice and maintained though. Im not interested in ever returning there.

Took my grandsons 4 years and 7years old and they had a great time. Lots of playground toys to climb, hang, slide or ride on. The grounds are covered with that soft rubbery material so falls are not that bad. Its a great place to take the kids.

Although This library has been in the community for decades, its definitely state of the art. I renewed my library card and used the computer area to print some disability paperwork. I accomplished everything on the fast internet with the fillable PDF forms and printed them out for 15 cents a sheet. Satisfaction delivered.

I was very impressed with the Teen experience for Summertime fun after dark. There were games, free food, a very chill and safe atmosphere...I cant wait to come again next weekend. Honestly, year round, library park is quaint, clean, has a great playground that is padded and not worn or hazardous, fun jungle gyms, plenty of shade, and a cool little amphitheater that houses concerts or imaginative little spirits (kids. Im talking about kids). Anywho...thats enough about that. Great park! We love it here.

The food was AMAZING. My Daughter and I absolutely love the place. We sat upstairs and enjoyed the view of the rest of bar. The staff was energetic and pleasant. We will definitely be eating here often. The bar area was really cool too. They had a live band out back where they were BBQing. Quickly became one of my favorite restaurants in old town Monrovia...

While they playground is in good order, the fountain appears clean, the amount of homeless people made me feel like I needed to watch my kids like a hawk. Shopping carts everywhere, random shoes on benches (worn out, adult sized), just takes away the beauty or enjoyment of this place because I was afraid my kids might find a needle or something they shouldnt. While I feel some sympathy for the homeless issue we face in this area, I feel they could keep this place cleaner.

Nice open area with local shops nearby. Was here for the July 4th fire works celebration. The show was well worth the wait and floor seating was available 1.5 hours prior to show. If recommend camping out in the early afternoon for a prime spot unless youre okay viewing things from the trees.

They have a different group gathering almost everyday! I have a toddler and a newborn that intake for Play time and Storytime 2 days a week and the instructors are actually having a good time with the kids, not like other places weve gone that the instructors look like they hate their lives. And this library has events for upcoming holidays, like safe trick or treating and baby winter formal! We love it here!

Its a nice park for kids 3-10 year olds. They have tire swing, 1 apparatus for small children and another for 5-12 year olds. There is a climbing web made of rope. It isnt enclosed all the way. There are benches to sit around the play area.

Library Park is located at the north-end of Monrovias famous downtown (AKA Old Town) and takes up an entire city block, with the Monrovia Public Library at the center. Its perfect for grabbing a meal to-go at one of the many restaurants on Myrtle Ave and enjoying a picnic on one of the picnic benches, in the beautiful open grassy areas, or under the shade of the enormous Moreton Bay Fig tree (one of the largest in California!). Theres also a beautiful large circular water fountain with plenty of seating fronting Myrtle Avenue. On the Primrose Avenue side of the park, theres a stage where summer concerts you can enjoy free concerts during the summer, and a dedicated fenced-in play area for children ages 2-12 years old. Library Park is the communitys gathering place for Monrovias annual festivals and events including Monrovia Days celebration and the 4th of July Fireworks show (best in the SGV...and free!). Its also a gathering place for local teenagers on Friday nights. Parking is plentiful on all sides of the park but is restricted to two hours.

Nice, clean park. Shade coverage is decent, not great.Very close to the homeless camp at the back of the library, but Ive never had an incident. On weeknights you may find organized sports happening in the middle of the playground, completely blocking most play equipment. I believe this is likely due to the proximity of the homeless camp to the grassy area adjoining the playground.The biggest issue is the vulgar teens that swarm here on Friday nights during street fair. They sit in the middle of the play equipment and have very adult conversations involving an impressive level of R-rated language.

Beautiful place I would definitely recommend this location not only are they very helpful. But they also have also have allot of activities for children. During school year and summer break. Nice park in Old Town Monrovia. It includes green areas, playground and the towns library. The center of the park has a large water fountain with access sidewalks for a stroll. The West side has a small stage. Great restaurants and theater are located near the park. Parking is available around the park.

Good park. Just lots of homeless live in it day and night. Theres human feces in places and urine smell. Homeless have been seen masterbating. Police should do something. I dont feel safe with my daughter there sometimes.

I used to love walking around the park and then go to lunch with my dog. However, the park is overrun with drug addicts and they use the park as a storage area for all of their junk. There was a pile of junk in front of the park, on the side and the stage area. I just worry about the kids that play there. Will they find needles? I sure wouldnt let my kids play there. So sad.

Everyone is friendly and always happy to help. My child is not in pre-school so we frequent this library. We enjoy their story time followed by arts and crafts. They have reading program during the summer in which you can earn points and win prizes (I specifically liked that you can win books).

This library is located at the heart of Monrovia. The outside is beautiful. You can have a picnoc with your family on the grass. There is an ENORMOUS tree that the kids will love and appreciate in regards to nature. A beautiful water fountain shoots water out for little hands to splash in. The fountain is beautiful at night. Great place to take a romantic stroll or sit and people watch. Great restaurants around the parl in walking distance. There is a playgym for children behind library. The library offers books for all ages. It has a childrens area with computers and tutoring for children. You can even read to a dog. EXCELLENT atmosphere and their STAFF has Excellent customer service and they are commited in their duties to help people GROW through READING BOOKS.

Generally quiet and enclosed space for kids to play. Lots of Pokemon Go stops if you are a fan, down the street has plenty of Pokemon Go gyms. During the weeknights, there are occasional get togethers for cosplay knights and sword play. Weekly Friday night farmers market, unless it is raining. Homeless hang around the northwest end of the park near the library.

Monrovias library park is a great destination for a walk. There is a childrens playground, wonderful old trees a nice fountain and a bench where you can get you picture taken with a statue of Mark Twain. Great old towny feel in the heart of downtown Monrovia. The redesigned library is beautiful. There is a bandshell that can be rented or grab a chair for weekend performances during the summer. It is the center for frequent community events

We showed up for the horse carriage rides at 5:30pm and they told us they were done for the night. They let 3 people on and wouldnt let my family of 4 on even though there was space. It said online the rides was from 3pm-6pm. I was so disappointed.

I love this park and library, one less star because their is a homeless encampment, maybe they can stop funding who ever cuts the grass and use that money for shelters, fyi who ever cuts the grass only trims the tips, but who ever supervises that must not care because i know what cut grass looks like and that is just the tips, some places arent even cut at all

One of Monrovias jewels, is a great library with super programs for the young and seniors. The only blemish is the homeless population living in the back. Move their deficating population away from our parks and let them live elsewhere. I understand they want their freedom, dont want to be told what and where, and thats fine. Just not here where citizens of Monrovia have paid and continually pay for their library park. Our police and city council need to re-evauate the situation. These are not Monrovias who have fallen to desperation. They are a different community that needs to find a better place to live other than our community library park.

Great place to grab a .50 cent paperback book from the library sales annx just right of the check out counter inside the library, then head out to the park and sit near the large water fountain and get lost in a great read for a few hours or a quick lunch break, enjoy life have fun.
