Fantastic church! The worship/song leaders have phenomenal voices. When they lead the congregation in worship, I feel very focused on the Lord and His goodness... because they choose songs that are doctrinally rich. I would describe their style as blended worship some modern and some traditional. The preaching is always applicable to my life and helps me to develop my walk with God in a richer way. I highly recommend this church.***The youth group is very active and has a clear mission of discipling the teens.***

How do you scribe the worst/weirdest church I’ve ever experienced. My wife kids and I had been looking for a church for sometime. I served as the youth pastor for 17 years and I felt the Holy Spirit calling me to a different ministry something to do with foster care. That’s where I ended up and foster care ministry. That’s a little background about myself. I have worked with the biggest churches in my area ( Whittier Hills, Baptist Church, now redemption Hills, EV Free Fullerton, Sambica youth camps) I’ve had experience working with churches and organizations over the years. When my wife and I found the church, we thought great we finally found a place where the preaching was gonna be worship was going to be amazing. The worship was really well done. Then the preaching came a bit dry not all that amazing but it was good. So I set my seminary aside and said I can sit through this. My wife and I decided to join the Bible study that the senior pastor was leading. Someone say that’s a mistake, but I would say that’s an eye-opener. I learned a few things about the senior pastor. He’s arrogant he does not stand up for the gospel of Jesus Christ. He doesn’t really care to speak to anyone who he deems unworthy. The senior pastor tends to think in terms of dollars. There’s one pastor that was roaming around him, Doug, who, for over a year, introduced himself to my wife and I. Over a year she came up to us every Wednesday and Sunday to introduce himself. We tried to stick it out through the summer. They have summer nights where they do a family meal and then a sermon. Now our children have been going there for a year, making friends for a year and we had zero issues. One Wednesday night my daughter who is seven said “ hey, those girls are in my class can I go sit with them and eat“ my wife and I said yes and within a minute we overheard the girls and saw the girls stand up and say we don’t want to hang out with you you’re weird. When we brought this to the children’s pastor, he said well, not all children are made the same I guess. After that, my wife and I decided to take a hard look at is this the church we want to stay at. So we went and we sat and another Sunday morning sermon and that morning we were pulling into a parking spot. We pulled in and as we were getting out, we were yelled and cussed out by a little tiny member. He said things are inappropriate and most non-Christ center circles. We laughed and said OK someone needs Jesus. We sat down in church and they started a testimony of a man who was a yacht dealer in Newport. Turns out that yacht dealer is the same man who decided customers out and tell us we were worthless.Very long winded frustrated review. I wanna go to this church. The senior pastor is arrogant, the associate pastor might have dementia, and the children’s pastor has no right to be a pastor yet. Stay away I can’t say there are a lot of great churches, but I can say this is not one of them.

Liberty Baptist Church was my home church. This is where I was born again and received Jesus as my personal savior. Today, I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to Pastor Thompson, Pastor Sammy, Pastor Ryan (youth ministry pastor) and Mr. McMains. From the first day that I placed my feet in the church I grew spiritually through every sermon. There was not one sermon that did not help me in my walk with God. Pastor Ryan guided my teens with wisdom and teachings that no one else could, for all these, I am forever grateful. Liberty Baptist Church set the foundation for my Christian faith, now thanks to what they’ve done, I have found my purpose and identity in Christ. I have no words to say how grateful I am for the guidance of these Godly men.

My husband and I have been attending Liberty Baptist Church for almost 15 years. We moved here to take care of my husbands Dad who was a retired Lutheran pastor. Because we couldnt leave him home alone, he began coming to church with us and fell in love with the people and they with him. Through the years, weve seen our church grow and move forward for the cause of Christ. This is our family and we love the people and know we are loved in return. If you are looking for a place that preaches Christ and Him alone, this is the place for you! Blessings and joy in serving the King of kings and Lord of lords in Southern California.

We appreciated so much the warm and friendly spirit while here at Liberty! A great church that is centered on exalting Jesus, and preaching the Bible. There is something for every age and stage of life, and we are so thankfully for this great church.

God is doing great things at Liberty. The church is so friendly!Pastor Thomson brings a well balanced biblical message Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday night. The gospel is central in the messages. Typically Sunday mornings have a series thats very practical for the believer. Pastor is a very good bible teacher. He uses relevant illustrations, quotes, visuals and humor to keep you engaged and to help you understand the Word.Worship is a balance of songs and hymns that are engaging and fresh. The choir is growing. Singing specials are very well done and allow many more members than just the choir to sing and bless the church. The connection groups for college students on Sunday morning (Sunday school) have that small group, everyone can share, intimate feeling, yet are still structured.One-on-one discipleship is also a great way to sit down and learn from another Christian about the Bible and to build relationships. It is very much encouraged for you to read the Word on your own, rather than just receive what a man says. There is a careful balance of seeking knowledge and having a heart relationship with God and here youll find you can grow in both. There are many opportunities to serve and get involved in a ministry that reaches people with the gospel. The graphic design and visuals are all very high end and professional. There is also a large growing Spanish ministry.I am a student at UCI and there is a good singles/college group at the church campus, though a presence on college campus would be helpful.

I am so thankful for Liberty Baptist Church. A few months ago, under the Lords leading, we decided to make Liberty Baptist Church our home. We are so glad we did! The music is inspiring and the preaching is trememdous. Pastor Thompson is a true shepherd and his heart beats for God. Pastor Scott has a true gift in leading the singing to helps prepare us for the preaching. If you are looking for a warm, friendly, inspiring church, then I ask you to consider coming to Liberty Baptist Church of Newport Beach, CA. You will not be disappointed.

Liberty Baptist Church made me feel like family with such a warm welcoming the first time I attended. The sermon, the music, and fellowship starts my week off with joy in my heart and biblical principles to face the challenges of the week. You can be assured that Christ is first and foremost the focus at Liberty Baptist Church

Our family started looking for a new church home in Orange County at the beginning of 2016. We began our search at Liberty Baptist Church. There were three other churches we intended to try out, but week after week we kept returning to 1000 Bison Ave in Newport Beach. The preaching, the people, the beautiful music are all inspiring. But God called us to Liberty Baptist Church because Jesus Christ is preeminent in all that is done at this church and we are challenged to serve Him beyond the borders of its beautiful campus.

Liberty Baptist Church is a wonderful church to attend. The childrens service is well planned and super fun. As a child (specifically Enrich) services are fun to attend. My family and I have been attending for 2 years now, yet we still love the church. Great church :)
