I recently bought a recumbent bike from Laid Back Cycles because I developed a problem with balance and can no longer run a bicycle. The amount of time they spent with me was over and beyond. I was able to try out several recumbents before choosing a cycle. When the cycle arrived, they spent the time to adjust it to my satisfaction. I never felt any pressure and they made several suggestions for accessories. They truly care about cyclists and the local community as evidenced by the myriad of ways they are involved in the local community. You won’t go wrong buying a recumbent bike from Lad Back Cycles!!!

We just purchased purchased theecat expedition. If Mickey hadn’t given us his expert advice we would have purchased an incompatible trike and would have been miserable. My husband and I are older folks with balance issues. We bought two Catrike Villager recumbant trikes. We have been so enjoying our time each morning riding along the bike trail near our house. We are getting exercise daily that has helped my husbands neuropathy which has made walking extremely difficult. He is walking 25% better since we started riding just 3 weeks ago now. I am also getting stronger and feeling more energized and ready to enjoy life again in ways I have not in many years now.We are very grateful to have found Laid Back Cycles. They have been so very helpful with our process of finding the trikes that would work best for us. I think we test rode almost every trike they had in the shop before making our decision. The staff at Laid Back Cycles are friendly, pleasant and eager to help every time we have gone in during the process of deciding to buy trikes as well as now as we are breaking in our new trikes and learning how to care for them. We highly recommend Laid Back Cycles to anyone looking at the freedom to ride again that a recumbant trike can give.

The most knowledgeable trike shop around for recumbent trikes. Friendly and prompt service too! I had to replace a bar end shifter, and Mickey had the part in stock and was able to replace it for me on the same day and save me a long trip. While not something he could normally promise, I appreciate his focus on customer service and getting me back triking. Whether buying a trike or getting one serviced, Laid Back Cycles is the place to go. Ill definitely be back for tune- ups and for that e-assist option when I save up enough . Thanks Mickey!

This a serious adult tricycle shop. They dont do bicycles, only tricycles. As far as I know this is the only such business in California. Their product line is outstanding and their service is outstanding! Period, full stop. These trikes aint cheap, but if age and health issues prevent riding a bicycle (as in my case for example), these machines are the answer. Also, veterans can rejoice as the VA recreational therapy program will pay a substantial part, if not all, of the price. These are not like kids tricycles, but are recumbent machines (low center of gravity for stability) that are safe to ride--be sensible in traffic however. Worth investigating!

I found Laid Back Cycles through their website which contained all the information I needed to do my initial assessment. One of the videos was most helpful for myself and my wife and convinced my wife that acquiring an electric recumbent trike would be most appropriate for me.Scheduling a visit to the shop was next and being able to make an appointment was most helpful. I knew I would have the attention of at least one staff member for questions and a test ride. Clay was most helpful and because of our conversation and a test ride, I decided on the spot to acquire an ICE Adventure E-Trike. When the recumbent trike was ready to be pick-up, I was appropriately fitted to my new trike, and shown what to expect. After another test ride and final adjustments, I was set to head home.I have had the trike now for just under one week and have ridden nearly fifty miles on three rides. The trike meets all my expectations – comfort, no shifting, e-assistance when I need it and I again have the pleasure to be outside on the bike trails within my community. I originally went to Laid Back Cycles with my father. He was having two recumbent cycles electrified. The staff was so cordial and beyond brilliant and knowledgeable that I ended up buying a Tera Trike off road and having it electrified.I’m so pleased with the bike, the job and the service of this company. I found Laid Back Cycles on Google and I am so glad I did! I live on the central coast, over 300 miles away from the Laid Back Cycles store, and I am very glad I made the drive. Clay, Scott and James could not have been more helpful. They are VERY knowledgeable (especially since they are trike riders themselves). Their attention to detail is incredible and their craftsmanship is second to none. You will be very glad you trusted them with your business abs your trike.

This is the best place to buy a recumbent tricycle, bar none. I have bought two Greenspeed GT20s from them. The first was destroyed in a house fire. After over 50 years of riding standard diamond frames, I reached a point where I had developed some balance issues and decided to look at recumbent tricycles. Sacramento has two recumbent tricycle stores. I chose Laid Back Cycles after looking at online comments and reviews. I worked with Clay Whiteley, the store manager. He was wonderful to work with, listened carefully to my questions, and spent a lot of time with me. After buying the GT20, both times Clay spent over an hour making sure that it fit and was set up correctly for my height (64) as well as making some creative adjustments to the shoe cleat to account for and injury to my foot. He also made sure that I left the store with the appropriate accessories for my style of riding. I have taken my trike to Laid Back Cycles for adjustments and minor repairs, and the service has been great. Clay answered all my mechanical questions, which were many. Also, after my first trike burned, when I ordered my second one I was not able to take possession for many months. Clay volunteered to store it for me for free. I cannot speak more highly of Clay and Laid Back Cycles.

Laid Back Cycles is not the fastest or cheapest when it comes to service. They are however the best. I recently had what turned out to be a major rebuild done on my trike after 22k miles and a cracked frame (which was warranted). James did an excellent job and took the time to fit and adjust the virtually new trike to me. My mother always taught me that the sweet taste of a job well done will last long after the taste of a cheap or quick job has faded. Laid Back is one of those places with the sweet taste.

Clay was great and super helpful. I have had well over 50 mountain bikes and road bikes. Typically super high end. Due to an ankle injury (5 plates and 30 screws) I havent been able to get outside. The trike has made it possible. I have only had it 3 days and thus far I have ridden it 3 times. I chose the all terrain as it has great gearing for hills a higher seat and 24 bigger tires for more comfort. Anyway the shop is great. The only thing negative is they, like almost every other business in the world is short staffed. I have bike shop friends that are owners so I am used to primo service. Given the situation I think they did well. They are patient and helpful. I wasnt able to go in given where I live and distance to the shop. If you are able I would go in and try every option to in your price range!

I wanted to let you know what a great job Joel did on the delivery and customization of the Rogue. Having never ridden any bike, at all, I was pretty apprehensive, let me tell you. Wouldnt even test drive the trike until after he left. But now, my dog and I are flying around my neighborhood with ease. I am completely comfortable on the trike and appreciated the commitment Joel had to get the trike to fit to my exact needs. He was courteous, professional and easy to get along with. He answered all of my questions, showed me everything I needed to see and educated me with patience. Your service overall was, by far, more than excellent and the product is perfect for my needs.

My present experience with most businesses these days, customer service is terrible. Not true at Laidback Cycles, at the Fair Oaks store, Clay and James gave the best customer service I experienced in a long time. Both of them spent their time making sure my Greenspeed Magnum was adjusted to my body perfectly and the all the controls worked correctly. I was in their store from about 10 AM to 4PM. I kept test riding and told them what needed adjusted and they serviced it. I highly recommend them for your possible Trike purchases. You won’t leave there disappointed.

Because of my age and health issues I can not ride a standard bicycle so I decided to look into a recumbent trike. Friendly and knowledgeable! They helped me choose a recumbent that worked with my disability, then when I went to pick it up spent an hour-plus carefully fitting the trike to me, then going over everything as I learned to ride it. We have bought three trikes at LaidBack Cycle. Clay was very patient with us when we first bought our first one. He spent lot of time going over each trike and making sure to fit the right trike to our needs. These guys are amazing! Drove up from Southern California and it was so worth it. This was my first experience with a recumbent trike. Started with Clay on my arrival & finished on my pick up date with Mickey on my way back from Lake Tahoe.These guys were knowledgeable and very patient with me and I had a ton of questions. Coming from a traditional bike these cost quite a bit more. But for me it was a recumbent trike or no more riding having osteoarthritis & spinal stenosis.These guys are honest and straightforward. I would recommend them to anyone whether you are a first timer like me or a veteran rider. Their selection & knowledge from this team is top notch.I settled on a TeraTrike All Terain Rambler. Havent even been to the store (Going in next week) but Jimmy was so incredibly helpful and positive on the phone I know its going to be wonderful for my daughter to try out a trike!UPDATE: Finally got in there today with Chris and Scott took the time to properly fit the TerraTrike Rambler to her and then she got to head out into the large parking lot and proceed to TEAR. IT. UP. The cost of the bike is no small amount, so we will be saving up and looking for funding options, but it is definitely in the near future. :)

As an avid cyclist, I went to this dealer as they were trike specialists. My friend wanted to get into biking but has balance and nerve issues. I had suggested a recumbent bicycle for her. One day she suggested she would be interested in a recumbent trike. My friend was fitted up with a Terratrike Tour II. I noted she was properly fitted for her bike. She balked at the price, but with guidance from the shop, she accepted the changes that were made for her bike, consisting of shorter cranks that were more suitable for her legs. She is delighted with her bike now and she is gaining the benefits from exercise now.I am completely satisfied with the professional help she got. I would go here if I were interested in getting a trike for myself.

Great Service HERE!!! Mickey and Mark spent time and were very helpful in my trike selection, fit, and delivery. This was very important as my wife and I do not live in the Sacramento area. Mickey spent time on the phone and answering emails. We selected a Greenspeed Magnum for me but I was not sure if it would fit my wife. When we got to the area (I had a visit for my work), he and Mark helped us rent two trikes for a day. My wife was hooked. We setup and tested my new magnum for her, then restored it to fit me. These guys also helped with re-boxing and delivering the machines to where we live, Maui, Hawaii. I am very happy we met learned of this shop and have had a chance to do business with these people. My Laid Back Cycles Greenspeed Magnum Trike axle failed at eleven months and 1619 miles. Clay at Laid Back Cycles said they had no replacement axles, and didnt know when theyd get any. He said hed call Greenspeed. He called back in a week and had ordered more replacement axles. I had the replacement axle at my door at no charge in two weeks.

OK, so technically I am not a customer yet, but we stopped here to learn about recumbent trikes. The staff is great and spent a lot of time with us answering our question. We spent 2.5 hours here and rode many different trikes in the parking lot. Now all we have to do is decide which ones to get!

Test drove several bikes, one with a motor because they didnt have the model I wanted to test without a motor. Made a decision. Really enjoyed the attention to detail and assistance since Ive never owned a recumbent trike before but had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for.
