Today, I went to this location and requested a one day pass. While visiting Long Beach, I wanted to attend a class with a family member. I was greeted by manager Geo Metro. He requested my identification card in order to provide the pass. I gave him my military ID, he refused to accept it. He requested my California Drivers license. I provided it to him, he then informed me that the policy was for him to keep it in his possession while I attended the class. I didnt feel comfortable with him keeping my my identification with the rise of identity theft! When I returned he informed me that I was already a member and that my account was on hold per my request, which I knew. He appeared to be annoyed. Perhaps because he couldnt make a sale! At any rate I contacted Joshua at the Irvine location. He explained that keeping an individuals identification in possession while on property is not the policy of LA Fitness. Geo Metro violated not only my privacy but also the policy of LA Fitness. Very unprofessional behavior!

Nice gym with great amenities and friendly staff. If you could get helped by any of the employees choose saul.Very nice, informative, and easy going. Makes signing up and learning about the gym comfortable. You won’t feel pressured into anything.My only advice would be for the gym to be colder.

I started a membership today with Giovanni in fitness sales. Gio added a $5/ month charge for a health app service that I didn’t want, and got visibly frustrated when I asked him what it was. He claimed he was getting me “the best bang for my buck.” Again got frustrated when I asked him to show me the total with the service removed. I ultimately decided to just let it go as Gio was doing a very poor job communicating and it wasn’t getting anywhere. Still have an extra $5 per month charge for a service I’m not going to use…

Gio in sales is an idiot. Boy is the worst salesman I’ve ever encountered and should be fired. All I wanted was to inquire about summer memberships but he refused give me current prices and was overly adamant that I come in on Thursday for a “free workout and a discounted price!!”Needless to say I did not get a membership.

Ive been a member for a few weeks now. I can only speak to the location in LB. I really like it. Front staff are respectful and happy to help. There are so many machines, Ive never seen anyone wait more than a few minutes.Its pretty clean, especially the floors and equipment. If you watch, staff are constantly on the floor cleaning. I cant find a 35lb plate to save my life, but other than that, the weights, dumbells, and barbells are in good shape.The only reason for a loss in one star is due to the water fountains needing to be replaced and updated to fill bottles, the mens restrooms/lockerroom needing attention, and the lack of 35lb plates.

We enjoy going to this LA Fitness location in Long Beach California. The staff really keeps the workout area clean. It is bright and enjoyable to work out here. The basketball court is always full and we like the juice bar because it stays open late. We wish that the members would be more considerate and put all the weights and equipment back in the correct location. Staff could ask them to be mindful and help out.

Great classes (especially Zumba!). I’m also making this review to detail the lack of security in the parking lot. This evening, I witnessed a van pull up and steal someone’s catalytic converter (from a Prius).There’s no security, so if you have a Prius (or other targeted car) be sure to park your car in the middle aisle and closer to the gym. And be sure to have a cage for your converter. LA Fitness should hire security to prevent this kind of thing.

I have an all club membership and drive around Southern California a lot - so I get to visit a variety of LA Fitness locations. This facility is great. The few employees I interacted with were fantastic. For my only time here, five stars - cleanliness, equipment, offerings (classes, fit food bar, personal training, and even good parking).

The basketball court is cool and the pool is solid. Also the heavy bags for boxing is cool just you have to wait for when its not a class in session cause its in the studio. Good quantity of machines and the gym is spacious so its not too crowded. I usually go to lazy acres after.

Does anyone else keep getting burned after they use the pool? The manager tells me that the chlorine & acidity leves are good but my skin says otherwise. Im literally burned from head to toe. On multiple occasions. They must be shocking it while people are swimming 🏊‍♂️ I will definitely not be coming back to this location. Im surprised nobody has taking legal action. I seen kids swimming those days I was burned. Babies.

Not a bad gym to work out at. They have a good amount of equipment, but in desperate need of new attachments for the cables. Members leave equipment all over the place, which is normal, but it would be nice if the staff went around and put things back instead of standing at the front chopping it up with each other.

Never returning to this gym as the front associates are rude and acting absurdly. As an avid gym member I’ve never had someone repeatedly give my boyfriend and I attitude. He was extremely aggressive and even snatched our license and kept them for some odd reason. I was genuinely concerned as to why he needed to keep my id…probably plotting to take my identity. Lastly gym locker rooms never have paper towels and need a deep clean.

Becareful with the Kidz Club they will not tell you when your child is hurt in their care. My son came home with a huge bump on his head and no one told my husband he had a head injury. According to my son they just told him to rub it and did not even offer ice or check on him.

This gym is the best in the county! The floor, the pool and the culture. Staff is extremely helpful, personable and knowledgeable. I came in for a training session with Krystal and I was absolutely in awe with her wisdom and guidance. She followed all covid protocol’s and allowed me to go at my own pace, all while still teaching me new exercises. I consider myself pretty well groomed in physical fitness but today I was enlightened and shown I can reach new plateaus! This will definitely be my permanent gym! Thank you Krystal for helping me get back in the groove and excited to work out again!!

First impression of this gym is that I really like it better than a lot of the other LA Fitness locations I have visited. The basketball court is in great condition and it was not crowded all morning. All the machine sing maintained none of them were broke. I bought a smoothie before I left and the young lady who work there was so nice and helpful when it came to choosing my drink. I would totally go back to this place. Great gym

This is one of the most clean LA fitness facilities I’ve ever been to. They have a very large locker room so you can take your suits and not have to stuff them into a small locker.Their machines are all in good condition and they have carpet inside the entire gym, which is new to me. Over all clean, not super noisy and a friendly staff.

Last month, I went to the Long Beach location on Bellflower to ask about a membership. I got the typical salesman routine but eventually they gave me the membership costs. I asked if they had a trial membership so I could check out the place (wasnt offered) and they said they would email it to me. After a few days and no email, I called back and spoke with the manager (I didnt ask for him) and he said he would email it to me. After a few more days and no email trial, I went back into the facility and a third person said they would email the trial pass...Finally got it.Two weeks after my trial membership completed I got a call from the sale person offering me a special deal but he would get back to me with the details. As you can guess I never heard from him.At this point I had already signed up for another gym because the process with them was so long, but I wanted to see how long their incompetence would continue. I called again and spoke with Eric the manager and said he would check with the original Sales Person about the special deal and he would call me back. Guess what? He didnt called me back either. I called him back one more time because now I was just curios to learn how many incompetent people were at this one location. When I spoke to the manager he mumbled something about talking with the salesperson and proceeded to give me the same membership costs that can be found on their website! It was sort of comical at this point. I wish I recorded the whole interaction from beginning to end to post to my social media.Ironically if LA Fitness just had one set price and no sales people and no special deals I probably would have signed up for a membership the first time. It seems outdated to still have those used car salesman conversations.

This is my neighborhood gym.The guest here are a bit older and for most part everyone here seems to be more calm and friendly. Theres enough equipment for everyone. I am one of the regulars so I can say I have never been disappointed with this gym, even though is not a new gym. It sure feels like the first time they open their doors. Everything is organized and well maintained.You dont find brokend machines or crack vinyl on the benches. everything is well maintain to its original look. Management has done an excellent job by keeping it looking beautiful. Staff is always friendly.

Felt like our IDs were being held hostage by the sales guy with the outdated mullet and stache while we were using guest passes. had to wait a while for him to finish trying to sell something to another couple before he handed them back over so we could leave. his car salesman attitude was a major turnoff to getting a membership. gym smelled musty and like chlorine. felt very stuffy in there, ac could be cranked down a notch. location was small and crowded for the volume of people there before closing. overall would rather be stuck at a planet fitness during peak.

This is by far the CLEANEST most well-ran LA Fitness gym in the LA / OC area, and trust me I go to them all. I like the facility itself at the Fountain Valley location most, but I prefer this gym because of how clean and organized they CONSISTENTLY keep it. Theres one custodian I see in the locker room EVERY night scrubbing the sinks, mirrors, and showers. You could eat an egg off the counters without a worry in the world because of that guy, I need to get his name and re-post this to his credit (he looks mid 50s, dark hair, about 510 with a little bit of gray). And I also caught Andrew one evening walking through the locker room randomly just picking up trash and paper towels. I LOVE a clean gym and especially a CLEAN LOCKER ROOM. Thank you thank you thank you.... That custodian needs a promotion to ensure ALL the LA Fitness gyms stay just as spotless. Legitimately something to be rewarded and applauded. Lastly, they are patient with me when I am the last one to leave the gym (which happens often due to my crazy work schedule, and due to the fact that I shower after working out always each night), they never rush or hassle me.

This place is always dirty. I don’t think they ever clean the stretching area mats, and the floor is filthy with dirt and hair at all times. All the good stuff is in the “PT area” and there are never enough weights for lifting. The weights are also in the wrong place or somewhere on the floor I’ve never seen staff walk around the floor to put things back. This gym is however full of disgusting men that smell like sweat and will try to hit on women while they’re getting their workout in. Some of the staff is nice, but most of them is staring at the computer or phone screen when you walk in. If I could find a better gym near my house I would leave this one, I would never pay full price for a membership here.

Pros: Its an inexpensive gym. Theres a large parking lot and its located close to Trader Joes. There are enough weight machines and theres not too much of a wait to use them. Theres a juice bar inside the gym. I go, get my work out in and leave. I have more cons listed but all of my cons can easily be fixed if LAF staff/management just make a few improvements.Cons: Its time to replace some of the treadmills. I see several out of service signs on them. I never see any staff member wiping down machines. Typically the front desk people are chatting with each other or on their cell phones when people arrive. The staff making the smoothies have zero people skills. Ive asked questions in the past re the menu and it was as if I asked them to perform 100 burpies! Attitude. I did the 5:45 a.m. class 1x and the instructor was 15 min late, had no enthusiasm and didnt greet the class until maybe 15 min. into the class. Ill never get up early for a class here again.

This location is a good size gym, plenty of cardio equipment and a good free weight area. Has the typical amenities such as basketball court, pool and group fitness room. There also is a spinning /cycling theater if that is your thing. There seemed to be a lot of students from the nearby college, but the crowd was manageable for being a Monday, aka International Chest Day. I was able to do a good back routine moving from equipment to equipment without any delay. Most of the members were interested in chest and arms equipment.The ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and pleasant. Overall I enjoyed my time here and will return frequently.Sorry, no photos, taking photos in a gym workout permission is not a good idea to me, but that is just my opinion.

First impression was it may be a nice location.. just here visiting in the area (military) and thought to try out the “complimentary” visit pass. When asked if I was interested in becoming a member, I stated I wasn’t sure if we there was an LA fitness in our area. The gentleman replied that if we weren’t interested then they wouldn’t honor the complimentary pass?! Nothing on the website states that you have to be interested in joining to get the complimentary pass. Weak and reporting to BBB.. also, representatives in the gym should emulate the “fitness” you’re selling.

Clean swimming area members have great energy very gorgeous people happy !but I had to cancel due to bad hours 8am to 8pm Sat &Sunday mass overcrowding too many memberships sold for such restricted hours. 20min limit on cardio machines ignored rules not enforced and folks hanging out on machines talking to other folks while the sweat on my body is getting cold. Wide variety of machine but whats the use when you cant get on one. I joined planet fitness for$10 a month $1 sign up and open 24hrs. Only down no swim pool but I did not use it anyway.

My alternative gym on my way home. Like most LA Fitness gyms, this place is clean and neat. I generally have a good chance to getting a treadmill, but during peak times expect to wait for a machine. This gym is much much nicer than the one down the street (PCH Circle).

With limited options in my area my wife and I joined LAF. As most have commented, its a pretty clean gym but is a bit overcrowded for an after work workout. It is a little small too. We’re usually there around 5:30pm. Comments related to members just sitting and chatting on their phones is the biggest issue in my opinion. I remember when other gyms would prohibit the use of cell phones in the equipment areas to prevent this sitting and chatting behavior. Its also a safety measure. I believe it would be a more enjoyable gym experience if gyms would prohibit the use of cell phones. There are some people that like to get in their workout and get out to enjoy life outside of the gym. Hard to do when it takes twice the amount of time it normally would.

My friend and I went to use the 7 day guest passes. First day was fine we talked to Antonio who was extremely nice. Made jokes about exercising asked us why we wanna start exercising again, ect. Second day our passes wouldn’t activate so we had to talk to another representative who just talked about pricing the whole time for about 30 minutes when we were just trying to do a quick workout and get on with our day. Third day didn’t activate AGAIN another rep talk. It seemed like they didn’t activate it on purpose so we could talk to someone different everyday about pricing for 30 minutes it was very frustrating and did not make us want to invest in this gym. After telling each rep we want to finish our 7 day trial before spending so much on a gym they didn’t seem to get it.

I had The older gentleman for a trainer for a few months. He had me doing machines only and the same ones every time. Well I could do that by myself. I wanted to learn kettlebells and the pulley machines. After a few months I was experiencing pain on the outside of my arms...he said oh you will be ok. Well I had to stop the trainer, went for an MRI and I have torn both my rotator cuffS. Then I researched him and he only had an Aerobics certificate. Really??Be aware of them not hiring experienced trainers. He shouldn’t be a trainer at all. His name was Tommy.

This gym location is slowly going down in my rating categories. First, they changed the Kids Korner hours to open at the same time the morning classes begin. Not being permitted to take children to the classroom, for safety reasons, parents can not set up their workout area before the class begins. Secondly, the manager took away a favorite class (multi-step) because it wasnt listed as an LA Fitness class. Im sure there was some safety or insurance reason behind that but it did not improve my personal relations with this club.

My boyfriend and I went to go check out this gym here because We just moved move Here. we had a great time but had to leave early due to an accident. we get a phone call about an hour later and it’s the general manager Edgar racial profiling my boyfriend and saying that he stole somebody’s wallet when he had no proof and literally said “you were the only tall black man in there that fit the description”. I don’t know about you but I smell racial profiling. This was also the manager of the gym. What a joke.

This location is a wide open space that also contains a basketball court. There is a stationary bike area and an open gym area where you can stretch and work out if there are no classes assigned to that day or hour. The treadmill area is adjacent to the weight machine area which is very convenient. The free weight station is located in the back end of the gym usually pretty full during peak hours.

I was very disappointed to see that LA Fitness on Bellflower Blvd in LB is not enforcing mask wearing. Despite the fact that there are signs posted all over the gym, the majority of people working out had their masks down or were not wearing masks at all.Employees were completely oblivious/unconcerned and also were not wearing masks properly.

The idiot that helped me saw my military ID card and being a veteran himself felt the need to snatch it out of my hands and inspect it. WTF!!!! My 4 year old daughter has better sense than that. This idiot proceeded to tell me that he had been in the Navy... who the hell said I cared. Ive been in the Army for 14 years and I didnt go there to tell stories. Someone with that little sense may have worn a uniform before but probably isnt in anymore for a reason... I mean maybe he got out to pursue his lifelong dream of working at the Walmart of gyms. Anyway, I eventually got a workout in. Equipment was ok. The free weight stuff was fine. Didnt like some of the leg machines. Overall, meh. Ive worked out in make shifts gyms in the desert I liked more than this... but I go for function, not ambience. Id have given this 3 stars had it not been for the unprofessional, arrogant bastard that supposedly helped me (pretty much tried a sales pitch over and over again to try to get me to join, with no tact or respect). These big time gyms are like everything else these days... poor customer service with no intent on getting better. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a membership at a good crossfit gym.

This place makes the Carson Street location look like a hospital- It is so very clean, and the Carson Street facilitate is beyond filthy. I live in Bixby Knolls and travel out of my way just to be in a clean spot. The staff is super nice, too.

The gym is generally kept neat and orderly, most of which effort comes from the members who put their weights and equipment back where they belong. The pool is not monitored and during the summer it is used more for people hanging out, rather than swimming. Typically one or two lanes is reserved for “non-lap” hang out. But this pool feels more like a public swimming pool, rather than a place to exercise. If you need to swim, best to go somewhere else.

I came in with my husband (a member) to use the FREE 2 week trial they offer. I signed thinking I was signing up for a trail and then an eventual membership if I continued to go. However, the LA Fitness employee signed me up for a full membership! I never came in LA Fitness, not even 1 time, to start my trail. A couple months later I realized I was making cc payments to LA Fitness for a membership I didnt want and never used. They lied and said I had come in 4 times (which I didnt) and only refunded my the last month instead of all months + initiation fees.Long story short - BE CAREFUL! If you work an 8-5 and come at 530 6pm good luck because all the mats and equipment will be in use. Josh personal trainer or personal liar ? Came into gym in long beach to start a new chapter in my life and Josh was so willing to sell a deal he told me that I could sign up for personal trainer and cancel at anytime but didnt go over contract so he signed me up for a 12 month membership for 175 without telling me that I could not cancel I quess this was my fault for not going over contract. Josh used his recent DUI to relate with my recovery to get me to sign up even ask to go to 12 step meetings with me imagine that. Josh called me daily in the beginning but when he got my money and contract was passed the cancellation day which I tried to cancel he kept saying that just give it another 2 weeks after that he stop answering his phone and very hard to get a hold of him.
