Great burritos and price.Regular is a good handheld size, and they have a super larger option if you want to share or same some for tomorrow. Theres also a small option, but doesnt really seem worth it to me.

**Cash Only Warning** This is a great Mexican taqueria in a prime location next to several tech offices. They only accept cash, so that was a little unfortunate but there is an ATM in the nearby liquor store. The food is good, what you would expect from a decent taqueria. They have most of the main Mexican dishes. The burrito I got was actually really good. The cheese they use is fresh and the meat was well cooked.If you’re looking for a quick eat and want Mexican food with taqueria quality and favor, you can’t go wrong here. Just bring cash.Plenty of parking, liquor store and coffee nearby, well lit, and safe. I didn’t see any outdoor seating, but there’s enough indoor seating. It doesn’t get too crowded here either.

Place has Ok Mexican, food can get real expensive real quick with add ons. Some stuff on Mexican food doesn’t make sense like black olives. Not very authentic. This place used to be a go to spot for lunch but prices and quality of food has us looking elsewhere for work lunches.

I love this place, this place makes the best burritos in the whole wide world. Ive had burritos from west coast to the east coast and in between and I can say La Costena is number 1 and no they didnt pay me in burritos to say this but I would never turn one down(because their the best HELLO). I use to live in mountain view most of my life and now I live in Hawaii and I wish there was a burrito place like La Costena there. I fly to the mainland to visit family but I really fly there so I can buy a bunch of burritos and take home (dont tell my family that) I have to give my friends a burrito when I get back. You know how hard it is giving them my favorite burritos. Its like a crack attic giving away free crack its hard. But yes they have a burrito monkey on their back also. So there thats how much I love this place and La Costena Ill see you next week I fly back home next Thursday.

This place has won award after award for the best burrito in the bay. Its hidden away in an unassuming plaza. The deal of the day wads a drunken chicken buritto. Which was fabulous. Dont expect a posh ambience, but if you are looking for great food you have come to the right place.

I cant say enough good things about this Mexican restaurant. The service was outstanding, with a staff that treated us like family. Have been looking for a decent chorizo burrito for a year. So many places put a bunch of potatoes and rice, and you hardly find the egg or chorizo- this is the place that does NOT replace the egg and chorizo with other things! The food was okay, but unfortunately, we cannot give more than two stars because the restaurant doesnt provide good restroom facilities.In order to provide a full restaurant service, they need to comply with the rules and regulations set by the health department. Its surprising that in the heart of Silicon Valley, a restaurant like this can get away with not providing proper sanitation or restroom facilities for their customers.This is unacceptable, and I hope the city of Mountain View takes notice of this review and takes action to either sanction or warn the restaurant for denying restroom access to its clients.

La Costena is very dear to my heart. Although I have only lived in MTV for roughly five years, this has been my most trusted Mexican stop for the entirety. You can walk away with easily the best Mexican food in the city for a reasonable price. The staff is very kind and I think the chefs probably start working on my order the moment I step through the door before ordering because they know exactly what Im going to get. I had a solid run ordering their burritos. The mountain view special is exactly what you want for most occasions but at some point I converted to the veggie super burrito with everything on it so I can split the meal over a few days. Most recently though I have been ordering their super tacos. The unknown secret is that one order of super taco actually gives you two hefty tacos only for $5 which is unmatched by any other spot in MTV. The salsas they have are sufficiently hot so when you ask for spicy its going to be spicy. I cant say enough about this place you just have to experience it for yourself. Cheers, La Costena!

This place is just a pale facsimile of its former self when it was located on Middlefield Rd. I ordered the vegetarian burrito and the wife had chicken enchiladas. Both were pricey compared to other places weve been to and the guy behind the counter seemed completely indifferent to helping us. It took @ 10 minutes for the food to arrive and it was look warm. Had the food warmed, but it was fairly mediocre at best. Dont know why these guys keep winning these best of Mountain View awards. Theres nothing anymore about them that they deserve to win, and theres much better places locally.

Great handmade burritos made to order. It felt more customizable when they were at the old location but the place is still good. Same cashier guy as the old place so this appears to be a family business. They have daily specials which is 4.99 for a regular burrito (any meat) which includes a can soda. People mostly go for the mt.view special ( your choice of meat) burrito and it is always made well and fast. This is my go to place for burritos in the area.

Omg I thought this was an Indian place for all these years. I was dying for tacos and enchiladas. I live around the corner. I can’t figure out how to pick the meat for the enchiladas so I got two dinner meat plates. No cheese and it was just burritos. But I have to say the meat was the bomb. I don’t speak Spanish but I picked two kinds of chicken and they were great. I’m getting tacos next time. My 23 yr old son ate two giant burritos. Great job. We are stuffed. Well done! It saddens me to only have to give them one star after going to both the old and new location for the past 30 years. They constantly get the to go orders wrong. I’ve ended up with a meat rice and beans only burrito instead of a con todo twice now. Unfortunately it’s not something you can take a quick look at to see if you got the correct order so you end up finding out you got something completely wrong once you get home. Im lucky to have moved in right around the corner from the areas best burrito place! I recommend the Pollo en mole. They stew it fresh every day. One day I arrived right when they opened, and they had to ask back to the guy stirring this huge pot if it was ready yet. You may have to wait until its properly lunch time for this treat!La Costeña has been a great resource when we invite a number of friends over for a game day. We can all walk down there and everyone can have a nice custom made meal.A lot of people get takeout here, and they keep the line moving quickly. If you want to sit (indoors, outdoors, or at their large community table), there is always plenty of room.They are generous with their portions. They are precise with making everything as ordered.They have vegetarian and vegan options. Ask them to customize any way you need. Since they make everything fresh they are knowledgeable about all the ingredients. It may not be a good pick, though, for those with highly sensitive allergies, as they cant guarantee there wont be cross-contamination from the assembly-line style of preparation.

My kinda spot, Mexican or otherwise. Its $ and you can see photos of the interior, so you shouldnt be surprised by the counter service or lack of ambience. Totally solid vibe for what youre getting.Food is great, quick, and cheap. Had a really solid carnitas burrito and it was on par with some of the best that Ive had. I dont have the most sensitive palate, so some people might get snobby and say that its not as good as A or B, but honestly everything was solid. And its tough to find a $5 good-sized burrito anywhere, let alone here. Definitely recommend this spot for a quick, low-key bite.

My favorite place for burritos. The atmosphere in the store isnt much, but the burritos are the best around, and at a good price. They are certainly better than any of the big chains. Part of what makes them so good, is the choice of size (chico, regular, and super), beans (refried, pinto, and black), rice (spanish, brown, and white), and salsa (mild, medium, and hot).

This is a very good fast casual Mexican place for breakfast lunch dinner in Mountain View. The Mountain View special burrito is my favorite its tasty fresh juicy rich and decent price. They have good tacos and a breakfast menu. Plus good Mexican refreshment drinks like Horchata and Rose drink. You will pay few bucks more on average than Taco Bell but you will get consistently better Mexican food. In the COVID time they are operating solid take out service with quick order completion. Its been a Best of Mountain View award winner for many years! Its kind of a hidden gem in a small strip mall.

The best burritos in Mountain View. They have a big menu — eight or nine different kinds of meat, plus lots of other fillings. I find it quite telling that every bad review Ive seen for them is full of poor grammar and atrocious spelling. this place is still as great as it was when it was back on old middlefield. im only sad that people cant have the same pick what you want as you walk along the ingredients experience. you can get their burritos however you want them, so if you dont like them, its definitely on you! just wish it was in a more convenient location so i dont keep forgetting its there!

This has been one of my favorite burrito places since I moved to the Bay area and loves in mountain view. I used to go to its old location on rengsdorf I believe but stopped after moving to San Francisco. I was really happy to learn that they moved to the same shopping center as my dentist who I continue to go to for toothwork. I have been going to La Costeña for years. When it was in the back of a Mexican market. The burritos are excellent. I highly recommend the mole. It is not a typical, heavy chocolate mole. It is more o a lighter brown color. The taste is phenomenal. Their carne azada is on point too! Their nachos, tacos and quesadillas are also great! Staff is very friendly too. I highly recommend this place!

I order a so called super burrito and for the $13 I paid I was expecting much more then what I got. And what I got is not even worth $5.
