UPDATE#2: LA Construction eventually did come out and do an extra application of sealant on the duct. I am still a bit bothered because the duct will require extra maintenance and vigilance to ensure that it doesnt end up leaking every time it rains, but LA Construction did cover the costs for the interior drywall repairs, which was extremely professional and went above and beyond. They would have received their original 5-star rating if I never had to deal with the leak in the first place because overall the installation process was positive and the price was competitive, but the saga with the leaking duct puts them at 4-stars.UPDATE: Ever since LA Construction installed my AC unit, furnace, and duct work, there has been an active leak from one of the ducts theyve installed every time it rains. Ive already called them twice (back in December and again the other week, the only times weve had significant rain): they were unable to repair it in December and havent returned my calls or emails since the leak returned in March. I have a new roof surrounding this section of ducting, so the leak source is definitely from work done by LA Construction and it needs to be fixed!Previously: I had a great experience with LA Construction: we had an AC/Furnace installed in our 100 year old home and LA Construction got us priced, scheduled, and installed with little trouble. They coordinated all the inspection and permitting work for us and the system is working great.

Full Disclosure - Im only speaking as a renter, and cannot speak to LA Constructions prices/quotes. That being said, dealing with Leonard and the LA Construction crew was great. Leonard was very nice and communicative while on the job. His crew were also courteous and worked well as a unit. They replaced a roof-based a/c unit and needed a crane to do it - I took pictures and video to show to the owner (see attached) and Leonard asked me to send them to him as well. The job was done in a few hours and the apartment finally has A/C again!

I’ve had LA Construction out to my home for AC issues on a few occasions. They send a text with a photo of the tech coming. Each time, the tech that comes has been respectful of the home, professional, knowledgeable, polite, and explains things in terms non-HVAC people can understand. Prices are reasonable, response time is fast. Not sure what else you would want in an AC service company.

Great company. We had an excellent experience with our service Tech Carlos Baltazar. The Service was very friendly, professional and fast. He was very experienced and was careful not to damage our paint when he accessed the AC on our roof. The appointment was confirmed with a picture of the technician coming out so we knew who to expect. Great customer service. Carlos even covered his shoes when entering the house. I would definitely recommend this company.

The person that answered the phone was pleasant and informative. They were very professional in sending us appointment reminder and even letting us know in real time that our service rep is on his way. Our service rep (Shaun) was nice and helpful. He did a thorough job and took his time going through the instructions with us for the NEST Thermostat. We had a good experience with this company from beginning to end. LA Construction Heating and Air was the third company on my list to get a quote for replacing my furnace and condenser. I was planning to go with company #2, who urged me to contact LACHA for a phone or next day quote so we could move forward. Little did I expect that LACHA, specifically Leonard, would provide the most detailed, most cost-effective quote, using good brands, and with multiple options, no less. In fact, the quote was easily $6,000 less than the second quote. (and almost $10k less than the first quote!). I signed the paperwork and worked with the office to schedule installation, HERS testing, and the final permit inspection. Throughout the process, LACHA was communicative, friendly, and professional. The team who did the physical installation was excellent. I got them set up that morning and then got out of their way; they took care of everything, wrapping up by mid-afternoon. I am thrilled with the work they did and would recommend LA Construction Heating and Air without reservation. Thank you!

Really great experience with LA Construction Heating and Air. They were detailed on the original call, and followed up when they said they would. I had 2 other quotes for $1200+ to repair a motor that had us without heat. Both of the other companies needed at least 5 days to get parts and make time. LA Construction came out and repaired the problem same day and charged me $720. Every appointment was updated before and after with texts and emails. Then they put in a Nest thermostat, helped me with the app and how to use it, then serviced my system thoroughly, all at no additional cost to me. Everyone I spoke to and worked with seemed genuinely concerned to help and very capable. When dealing with contractors, especially when something is broken, this is a welcome relationship. I appreciate the help and wanted to take the time to put it in writing. LA Construction Heating and Air did a great job at almost half the price and we will be using them for all maintenance going forward.

I found out about the LADWP A/C rebate program from Next Door, a neighborhood blog. Everyone who signed up raved about LA Construction and Jun, the technician who did the work. Making an appointment was very easy. Jun showed up at the appointment time. He was professional, competent and installed the Nest. I was concerned that my fuse box is very old and my A/C system is old as well. Jun assured me that everything was fine. After he cleaned the coils and the filter and set up the Nest he helped me pair the Nest to my phone. I am delighted with the whole process and highly recommend LA Construction and Jun. A tech came in a timely manner, checked AC fo freon, replaced a filter, and washed a condenser. Leonard and his team went above and beyond, meticulously making sure that my Wolf vent was mounted safely and securely. Highly recommend, found them through the LADWP AC optimization program and couldn’t be happier. Super easy to make an appointment, got texts of appointment date and when tech was arriving. My tech Shaun was phenomenal. He installed 3 Nest thermostats, checked my AC units which needed some adjustments with fluid and replaced my air filters. Also linked up the thermostats with my phone and showed me how to use them. If you are doing the LADWP AC optimization I would definitely use them. Shaun was our technician, and he was great! He was friendly and had such a positive attitude. It was so hot outside on the roof and he didn’t let that get in the way. He came in got to work and did everything without a hiccup. He was very informative and even showed us how to use our new nest. It’s a little nerve wrecking when someone you don’t know will come in to your house. But when you get someone like Shaun it’s makes you wonder why didn’t I call sooner. Nest thermostat was installed without cost to me (DWP plan) by Jun on 5/23/18. He couldnt have been more accommodating or efficient. He cleaned and checked our outdoor air conditioning unit and found that it was low on Freon. He brought the level up to normal with no charge to me. His installation of the thermostat was done in less than 15 minutes and he gave me thorough instructions on how to use it. Work was done leaving no dirt or debris. I definitely would recommend this company.

I called LA Construction Heating and Air for AC tuneup under LADWP program. I chose them because they were closest from LADWP site. It was a 5 star experience from the start. Office lady was very courteous and gave me multiple scheduling options and explained very clearly about LADWP program as to what is covered and what will they be doing. I also get a call the next day if I wanted to do it that day as they had some openings. I started receiving auto text alerts with the name, photo and timing of the technician 2 days prior to the appointment. Finally today, I received text that technician is en route sharply at 9 which was the start of my schedule time.Jun Parker is the awesomest technician I have ever met. He was very courteous, extremely knowledgeable, wore gloves and foot mesh, very tidy, detailed and spent almost 2 hours detailing me everything as to what he was doing. We had to do a minor repair and he was very quick to diagnose and fixed it in not time. He told me suggestive services and how to see signs of issues.Since it was free for me from LADWP, I was hesitant if contractor will try to sell me something.I am just totally impressed by their transparency, professionalism and attitude. I don’t know about their pricing, but from quality perspective Jun Parker is a gem.Would definitely recommend and use them again.

They are so install a smart thermostat, also at no cost to the customer. The technician was wonderful and the office staff was very professional. Technician arrived promptly at scheduled date/time-actually early!!! He performed a thorough diagnostic of my system, and offered several repair options and very fair pricing. I opted to replace a sensor, which he didnt have on truck but returned quickly ( within 30 mins) and completed repair and unit servicing. He was clean, professional, and absolutely confident in his abilities!I have used LA Construction/Air in the past, and would never consider even calling a competitor. I called the company a week ago to do the LADWP A/C optimization. The lady on the phone confirmed availability on Monday and told me that I will receive a text message once the technician was on the way.Jun, showed up on time and proceeded to explain to me how the program worked. He was detailed and told me everything the program covered and what it did not. Also, he told me I did not have to do anything that added costs if I did not wanted.I have two A/C units. One close to 25 years old and the other about 10. He cleaned them and recharge the newer one as it needed about 5lbs of freeze on. He told me to check on the temperature of the air after summer to see if it was still cooling properly, if it does not, there maybe a leak but that needs to be figure out separately.He installed the Next thermostat and went over everything he did at the end of the service.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the service from the first interaction to the last. I will certainly be calling them if I have a leak or any other A/C needs.

I live in the San Francisco bay area and contacted L.A. Construction on Wednesday (9/5), in the early afternoon. My mother is in her 80s and lives in her condo in Encino. Her old A/C unit had gone out again and the outside temp. was 103. Leonard was immediately available and, personally went over to check the equipment. As suspected, the compressor had finally gone out. After discussing options, I decided to replace the entire unit.By evening the work was completed. I was put off by L.A. Construction initially because I live in the SFV, and I needed my A/C fixed quickly. They sent a guy to assess the problem, but he needed to set a separate appointment to make the repairs. I thought that I would get what I wanted from one trip.The guy who did the assessment, Aris, more than redeemed himself in my book. I could have appreciated the fact that he was right on time for the assessment appointment. That in itself seems remarkable these days, but in addition he made an accurate assessment and gave me an accurate estimate. L.A. Construction also told me that I was entitled to a rebate from the city if I made the repairs, and they guaranteed that I got it. When Aris returned to make the repairs I noticed that he covered his work shoes when he walked through my home. He brought everything that he needed to make the repairs, and he even replaced the air filters without my asking him to do it.Aris was a great ambassador for L.A. Construction. He was highly competent and made the repairs so that my system now works flawlessly. He stuck with the job until it was finished, and he cleaned up after himself. Aris was polite and professional. AWEFUL SERVICE!! The technician Aris Shahbaziyan was the worst. He came out to find out why we were getting slow blowing air while the thermostat would not cool below 74 degree. He came removed a piece from the furnace area & did a reading check- when I asked him why he wasn’t outside with the unit he said the area with the furnace was the main area for cooling air. He could not re-attach the piece he removed back to the original place and reattached it in a different place - I asked home why & he said there was another hole he could attach it to- so he did. He checked the air reading from our ducts and said the readings were good. The worst was yet to come...I asked if he could do a maintenance service on our unit- to see if that would tell Us more- he made a call to his office- and came back with a $195 quote- we said ok he said he would check coils, clean the filter& do a check to the unit outside ( the actual a/c unit) - after he was paid we found the back gate left open, the hose left lying in the backyard, the filter left on a trash can UNCLEAN. He came into the house to say it was done . I should have checked but didn’t. ( I thought this was a professional- WAS I EVER WRONG. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! Not only could this guy NOT fix my problem - the unit still is slow blowing air while the thermostat would not cool below 74 degree. I am tempted to stop pay on my check. I will be calling the office to let them know I will be telling EVERYONE I KNOW- about this tech & the terrible service I received from LA CONSTRUCTION HEATING AND AIR- there are several other a/c repair companies- USE ANY OTHER BUT THIS ONE!
