Cheaper and faster than the Apple Store. I always go here when I need something worked on that isn’t covered by Apple’s warranty. They also have great refurbished Apple products. I’ve been using a MacBook Pro from them for years and am extremely happy with it. I recommend this place to everyone who needs help with their computers - usually for me it’s Apple Products but they also have PC and other miscellaneous electronics. Super helpful people too!

We having been doing business at L.A. Computer Company for many years. Originally a the recommendation of a friend. I have purchased at least three computers through them, and that was just the basics. Beyond that they have always cared about my work and needs, making certain I got the right software, security and virus protections, as well as memory and additional needs without trying to sell me on things I didnt need.L.A. Computer is absolutely the best computer store around. There isnt another like it.

I had yet another great customer experience with LA Computer last week. I purchased a used Macbook Pro. Just like my past experiences, it was easy and a bargain. The computer is everything it was represented to be, at a great price. This is the third used computer I purchased from L.A. Computer (plus a tablet), and each experience has been a pleasure. I originally went in to have an external hard drive repaired (which they were able to do - Thanks Jonathan!). While there, I spoke with a Salesman (Pat) about the re-built Macs that were available (because my computer had also died). He did a Great job explaining all the differences between them and listened to what I was looking for, and also gave me suggestions. Was very impressed, and went back a week later to buy a re-built Mac. I was able to buy a better upgrade and am very happy with our decision!!!!

Been using LA Computer for years to help maintain/repair both my old and new iMacs and my old MacBook Pro. Finally had to buy a new MacBook. Walked in, talked with very knowledgeable sales rep. Explained to him what I needed it for in detail. Took all of 5 minutes after which he suggested precisely what my own research told me I needed. He also suggested the best peripherals to make everything work smoothly. Then a tech took my old MacBook Pro and transferred everything smoothly to the new laptop. All done in an hour at less than the price I had expected to pay.

I’ve been a customer of LA Computer for over 25 years (from the time that they were in a nondescript office suite in an industrial park in Fullerton). The Motiwallas and their staff know Macs better than anyone, as they’ve been involved with Apple computers and I-devices since their inception. As such, they have historical knowledge that they’ve developed along the way – this gives them insight to provide service and problem solving in ways that few can match. Their customer service and expertise is top notch, and this has allowed their family run business to flourish and successfully compete with much larger entities. I asked for an adjusted the shipping schedule - no problem.When I needed a new MacBook Pro at a price I could afford, I searched the Internet. Ultimately, L.A. Computer had the best deal. Even though I can no longer drive across town if I need service, I know my unit has been completely checked and will give me years of great service.I bought my last 4 MacBook Pros from L.A. Computer. Ive purchased various Apple items from LA Computer for several years. Most recently, in July of 2019, I purchased a refurbished MacBook Pro for my son. It was clean as a whistle and works great, except that the battery seemed to be draining faster than expected. We returned to LA Computer and they quickly replaced the battery for us. No hassle. I had been to L.A. Computer previously and was totally impressed then and again NOW. All the staff members are very respectful and informative. My 12 year old iMAC had seen better times and needed to be replaced. The transfer was seamless. Then, thanks to the staffs suggestion, the refurbished 12 year old iMAC has been passed on to my son-in-law who wants to try his hand at pod-casting. As always, a great and informative experience!!!

My Mac went on the fritz. I called LA Computer Company because I had worked with them before, Close, convenient, no hype or tons of customers like other computer stores. They were knowledgeable about my Mac and what it needed, and had it fixed in about 3 days! They also showed me how to back up files on an external drive (vs. those tiny thumbnails), and sold me a new software package of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and One Note (vs. the Apple Numbers, Pages, etc, which had to be re-saved in Microsoft format to email to others to read). I love this store and I very highly recommend it to anyone, especially Mac users, who sometimes get overlooked.

October 2020 - Recently, I purchased a refurbished iMac from Yusuf at LA Computer and I am happy with the whole experience. They transferred all of my data and put a 2 TB SSD in the refurbished machine while saving me a lot of coin on a new computer. They took the time to explain all of the options and steered my toward the best solution for my needs as opposed to a quick sale at the Apple store madhouse. Thanks again for a great experience.I am impressed with the level of customer service at LA Computer. They have done work on my machines for the last several years and I have purchased used Mac laptops from them and been pleased with products and service. If you take a five-year-old laptop to the Apple Store, they will look at you like you are holding and antique lantern. LA Computer will look at your machine and give you good advise on whether to repair it, upgrade it, or replace it, based on practical considerations rather than flash. If all you care about is the lowest possible price, search the web. Good luck. But if you care about talking with people that know what you are looking for, can help guide you, and can repair and care for your machines, these are the people to know.

Yusuf was coordinating the battery replacement in my iPhone SE (Gen 1 - because I love the form factor over larger phones. Hard to ride a horse with a large phone). Not a major issue, more of an annoyance and productivity bottleneck, but you folks have always been terrible at those follow-up communications, replying to messages, etc. We have actually discussed this issue over the years, unfortunately the response has been Who were you working with or I never received your email, etc. I know in the past your staff has been super busy but replying to email inquiries should only require a couple to few minutes per customer (maybe less!).Consumers, regardless of our experience with replies from LA Computer company (or actually, lack thereof...replies), once on the phone with LA Computer Company or in the store, the staff is outstanding, again, with knowledge, advice, etc.

They’ve repaired several personal and business computers plus iOS devices, including a couple major overhauls as a result of severe physical damage. I purchased my macbook from them and they were very friendly and informative in helping me choose the best laptop for my photography editing. When I needed the battery replaced about a year later, I brought it back to them for replacement, fully trusting they would do a good job. However, my repair seemed to be a rushed and a botched job. When I picked up my laptop (with the new battery replaced) and opened my laptop to just test it out before paying and leaving, I noticed that an entire row on the keyboard was not working. Apparently, the keyboard was not put back together properly when replacing the battery. I again had to leave the laptop for an unnecessary repair created by their repair guy(s). On my way back home (I live 40 minutes away) I received a call that the keyboard was now properly fixed. I picked it up again and it was functioning at the shop, however that same day and still thereafter the keyboard stops working in exactly the same manner as was witnessed at their shop. Its a pain since I need my laptop everyday and this issue was caused by their computer repair tech who actually had left for vacation, so another fellow had to handle it. This gives me the thought that my laptop wasnt handled by the most knowledgeable of persons and was rushed and obviously not tested before being delivered back to me. An inconvenience and headache.

A positive experience.Part 1 - The PurchaseJanuary 2021. I needed new(er) computer to do taxes. The computer I wanted (iMac with Apple ARM CPU) not made yet. They suggested one of their refurbished 2015 iMacs. After thinking about it, that seemed a good, interim choice. I chose one and purchased it via the web late one night. I received a purchase confirmation but then a message from the credit card company saying the purchase was declined. I went through the process again. Next day I received a call from them telling me I had purchased the same machine twice and my card was charged twice. I explained, and they promptly reversed one of the charges, no hassle.Part 2 - The Refurbished MachineTheir description of the machine (iMac) said it had a small chip in the glass, outside the display area. I figured I could tolerate that. The chip is TINY, noticeable only if you know its there, best found by rubbing a finger than by sight. The machine does have a few scuff marks in the aluminum, front and back, not mentioned in the description. Functionally, the machine works fine and Im quite pleased with it.Part 3 - SupportThe machine had a 90 day warranty. April, within the 90 days, the USB ports stopped working. I use a wired (USB) keyboard, so I could not even log in (No keyboard detected). I emailed them, describing the problem and asking if a wireless keyboard would allow me to at least log in, to try things before returning the machine for repair. Reply, yes. I ordered an Apple wireless keyboard (from another source). It arrived five days later and I was able to log in, and by some miracle(!) the USB ports were functional. (That was three days ago.) In the end I did not need to test their willingness to stand by their warranty, but I have high confidence they would.

Ive been to this place before and went back again for a listing they have for a refurbished iMac. With both my kids on distance learning through the end of the year from what it looks like, I did not want them on their tiny screen Chromebook. As I have an old iMac for one child to use for school, I got a similar one, refurbished at LA Computer Company. The machine condition was great and the startup works perfectly for school Zooming. To adapt my kids laptops to a monitor and keyboard setup would have cost me the same as this refurbished iMac and would have been clunky at best due to so many pieces to hook up. The iMac is a perfect one item solution as the screen and CPU is all in one. Ive only had the iMac for a day and seems to be working fine. It will get daily use so there is plenty of time to test the 90-day store warranty. I doubt I will have to worry about using the warranty as my experience with Macs is that they just run forever without any fuss. Great store to buy refurbs.

Went early when they first opened to get a new battery for my IPhone. No one in store so we were waited on right away and new battery installed in about 15 minutes or so. Very friendly service and appreciated the professionalism. Only complaint was it was a little hard to find but we finally found it in the corner of a giant industrial complex of small businesses. Also, not their fault, but the street signs werent there going east but coming back around it was posted on the westbound side of the street!
