Overall, it was a good experience that everyone should do at least once. The wait was about an hour, so be prepared for that. The sushi itself was good, I really liked the Garlic Ponzu Salmon. The staff explains to you how everything works if youve never been before. They even let you practice pulling the plates off the conveyor belt - it might seem silly, but theres definitely a technique to it. You can take your chances with what comes around on the belt or you can order specific items at your seat to come directly to you, which is convenient. I do feel like it adds up quickly per plate and my boyfriend and I spent $76 for the two of us and we didnt really feel... completely full at the end. But I guess that helped us have room for dessert elsewhere!

Food is fresh and delicious, and it is definitely a new experience, belt with food ready, menu touch display to order anything you want, and make sure to download the app so you can join the wait list in advance so you dont have to wait outside the restaurant. Its definitely a place that Ill include in my favorites.

Great spot we were regulars at the sawtelle location till we moved, now this one is closer so it’s are go to and it’s just as great as the others. It’s real busy in the weekends so remember to use the app to reserve a spot before heading out 👍

Food was good, but an insanely long wait time (about 90 minutes). Granted we had a larger group, so its understandable. (Theres just not a lot of tables). Staff was helpful as well. Food is pricey but what really irked me was...Unfortunately their rewards system via the app is terribly setup. It automatically consumes your points to give you a $5 non-combinable voucher to be used within 3 weeks. So if you earn multiple vouchers, which you are forced to redeem immediately, you have to go back separately each time to use the $5 coupon. AND there is a limit of 3 per week. So Id have to go back 6 times in the next 2 weeks in order to use each $5 coupon I have which is unrealistic and essentially renders the rewards useless. Seriously bad rewards setup which now makes me avoid the restaurant despite the decent food.

Not the place to go to if youre looking for top tier traditional sushi. BUT, for reasonable priced sushi with non traditional rolls, this is a nice option. Decently priced too. Often, long lines.

When we checked in, it stated that there was a 110 minute wait with over 25 parties ahead of us. However, we were seated in about 30 minutes. Just make sure your entire party is there since they wont seat you until then!Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - cuts are really inconsistent and they are heavy handed with the sauces. One of our eel handroll looked like the eel pieces were ran over by a truck then scraped together into a roll and the other looked picture perfect. The imitation crab is very creamy with heavy mayonnaiseAmbience: 4/5 - extremely loud but intimateService: 5/5 - servers are all hardworking and quick to action. ***Edit***Went there again today and tried different things on the menu. My new favorite is Softshell Crab Tempura. It was sooo good that I had to order the second plate right after my first bite. Must try! Their Garlic Skipjack Tuna and Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna are also good. My least favorites and probably wont order again next time are Spicy Crunchy Salmon Hand Roll and Shishito Salmon Skin.Good quality of fish and it is fresh. Our favorites are Spanish Mackerel Nigiri, Chutoro Nigiri, Yellowtail Nigiri, Spicy Tuna Maki and Japanese Style Soy Milk Donuts served with ice-cream. The restaurant itself is not too big not too small. You can choose between tables or bar area. Once seated, you may start grabbing the food from the conveyor belt right away or you may order fresh from the kitchen from the screen above your table. Pretty convenient. Its always crowded there. The best way is to download their application and join the waiting list before you are headed there. Its located in the same plaza at where 99 cents store and Shinsengumi are. Plenty of parking spots in that plaza.

I really really liked how easy it is to try many different types of sushi. The rotating conveyor belt is really convenient once you figure out the trick to pulling the plate from the belt. Disposing of the plates is easy and requesting drinks is brought with a really cute and efficient robot. A reasonable enough price if you try multiple plates.

The service was amazing, but I want acknowledge this nice server her name was izabel, she guided me and my family how to properly use the Mr.fresh.. she was amazing at her job!! Weve been coming here for a while now and while we enjoy the experience and quality of food our last visit was severely disappointing. The previous customers order wasnt cleared before we sat down and despite us getting the manager to adjust the tab and telling us everything was OK we ended up getting overcharged for plates we never ordered pushing our bill well over $100! Pretty sad that instead of owning up to THEIR mistake or eating some costs for THEIR mistake they lost a loyal customer that was coming in a few times monthly.

Descent quality sushi. Perfect for solo dining because you can finish what you get and have a good variety of food to choose from. Love the efficiency of ordering, delivery, and grab what you like to start eating when you get seated. App makes it more convenient for reservations/ordering. Kids will love seeing the revolving belt and seeing the special delivery right to your table on the second tier belt. Liked how there is a cover on the plates. I was so stuffed.

Great place for some good sushi and other small Japanese sides! This was my first time coming here, but my friends had been here before and on their recommendation we went onto their online wait-list, which is a must. Otherwise, you can show up in person but since it is a small and popular place, wait times can be over an hour depending on your party size and preference for a booth or counter! That would be my only real complaint, otherwise, the staff were really kind and welcoming and the food was tasty. Its fun to not know what youre in the mood for until you see something on the conveyor and you know you have to have it! But there is also a tablet device to order a la carte options of everything thats circling along with more options such as soup, ramen, and desserts! I only managed to try a fraction of their selection and will be coming back to try more!

One of the best revolving sushi restaurants I’ve been to. Sushi is fresh and tasty. The service is good. Almost everything is automated. Keep in mind, you can’t compare to a regular sushi restaurant but for the price, you can’t beat it. Before going make sure you download their app and get on the waiting list. The wait time is typically 1.5 hours or longer.

Im in LA by myself for the weekend and had to try rotating sushi while in the city. Was looking at the different options and so glad I went with this one. Staff was super friendly. Only drawback is that it is one of the older Kura locations, sorta small, and in a run-down strip mall that really needs better maintenance.They should open a newer and bigger location in Del Amo Mall -- I think that would be a great success and revitalize a mall that is on life support right now.

This was my first visit to a Kura location, and it was for dinner. We first had to get in queue through the app and wait about an hour and a half to get in (Glad we live nearby). If you want to visit, please download the app first from your home and get in queue. Once youre in position 5 or so, head over to the restaurant. The app feels old and barely works but thats for another review.Hostess and servers were friendly and welcoming. They first have you sit and then explain how the system works.Plates with sushi, sashimi, rolls and desserts go around and you grab whichever you want. They are all $2.95+t so choose wisely, as you dont want to be paying $3.50 for 4 little cubes of watermelon.Food was good but a few items felt dry and old. And depending on where you sit you will be getting either a lot of options or a bunch of empty containers. We sat right before the counter area and already a lot of containers were empty time and time again. So if you like one of the dishes you pick, youre most likely going to have to wait a while before you see it again. They come in pairs only.They have plenty of drink and dessert options available through the iPad menu on each table. Also, for every 10 plates you get a little animation playing on the screen and after 15 plates you get a gift, like a keychain or something.They did not have any hand sanitizer anywhere, and I feel like a place that requires you to touch screens and plate containers that everyone gets to touch, should have hand sanitizer on each table, COVID or not. Also some of the containers had a lot of fingerprints and food sticking on the inside, which makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is.Parking is easy, since it is located in a big street mall with other retail and restaurant options.All in all it was a good experience but food is better somewhere else.

This place has good food, only downfall is it is small. If you are hungry I wouldnt suggest coming here the wait can be 30 min to an hour most of the time. And sometimes even though they text you your table is almost ready. It still takes another 20 minutes. I wish they had a bigger location

I came here with my daughter for the very first time. It was definitely a different experience. If you order drinks, a little robot comes by with your drinks and I thought that was really cute. It was good but I think I didnt understand the concept of when you ordered something from the menu. If those plates also go in that little hole because we are already being charged for it. So I think I may have been overcharged by putting this parts in there, but it was my fault I shouldve asked. When we were done, I tried to use the self check out at the table and it acted like it wasnt working So we canceled it and called the waiteress over And I paid that way. But when I got home I had 2 charges on my card and it took me 2 weeks to get $84 back. So my suggestion would be to not use the self check out. Call the server every time.

First visit to this sushi restaurant, I took my wife and 3 children we ordered sushi as well as ramen.I personally enjoyed the ramen it was fine, I would order it again. The sushi itself was not so great, the chef does not prepare traditional sushi rolls. I would not order sushi from here again it is not worth it at the price. I recently visited this sushi restaurant and had quite the experience. 🍣 The waiting time was incredibly long, which was quite frustrating. However, once I finally got to taste the food, it was good, albeit very simple. There werent many condiments or flavors to enhance the dishes, which was a bit disappointing. 😕On top of the long wait, the waiters seemed to neglect me, as they never called my name despite making a reservation. The messaging system they had in place wasnt working properly, causing even more confusion. 😔In terms of the food itself, it was decent but lacked variety and excitement. The white rice as a base with the protein on top felt very plain and basic. 🍚 The dishes were lacking that extra flair or unique touch that would make them stand out. This was my second time coming here. I found the whole rotating belt with the sushi passing by just so cool lol I dont know why, but I felt like a kid at toys r us (yeah Im old) there are so many different dishes prepared for you, like so many options. They charge you per plate. I think we did about 13-15 plates and the bill came out to about $125 which isnt bad really. The plus side is they have an app, you download it, and if its your first time, you get $5 off automatically. Also with the app, you get rewards points which you can get rewarded some $$ off your next visits. You can also check in through your app and just let the hostess know once youve arrived with your party. The wait times varies anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes give or take. I also wanted to note besi the sushi plates, we ordered 2 small bottles of saki and 2 noodle soups to go.

Sushi was good and I love how they have the conveyor belt. Service was alright not that great. Waited over 2 hours to be seated tonight and during us being 3rd in line. This couple showed up and literally got seated within minutes on a table. Didnt sign in to be waited or anything. I believe the employees knows her because they spoked as if they knew each other so pretty much you call that a hook up which is unfair to everyone else that had to wait over a long period of time.

This is an ok place. The sushi is not bad, the carousel style restaurant is fun, and at 3.80 per plate it aint cheap. But it has a fun atmosphere, it is clean, the staff (which is being down sized by waiting robots) is friendly enough.You get one to two pieces of sushi per plate, you get 3 to 4 small pieces of rolls and they have other random items rolling around the carousel.You can also order anything from the menu at your table via a touch screen. It is delivered to you by an automated belt to your table so you can get anything.Since your interactions with staff is limited, thus the 3 stars. Since the sushi is expensive and good but not great quality or quantity for the $$ also 3 stars. And since the location is not impressive or particularly interesting, also 3 stars.

This is a fun, casual place to grab sushi. Its nice that the conveyor continuously brings a wide variety of sushi, rolls, and even desert by the table. You dont have to wait to order, then order, then wait for it to be prepared and delivered. But there is a full electronic menu at the table as well for ordering drinks (delivered by a robot) and items not available on the conveyor. Not cheap, but sushi never is, nor should it be.

Ive been to three different Kura sushi bar and this location has the worse customer service. The waitress and staff did not acknowledge me until I asked them if I could sit down. They told me that I had to sign in first and wait to be called. Two ladies came and they were immediately assisted and guided to sit outdoors. I proceeded to ask why I had to wait, then she informed that I DIDNT HAVE TO SIGN IN IF I WANTED TO EAT OUTDOORS. The sushi was great as usual but I wont be coming back to this location.

This was my first time going. I went for the hello kitty collaboration. The service was great. What I liked most was the revolving sushi bar, how you can just pick and choose what sushi you want to eat as it rotates around the tables. Also if you order other food, how once its ready it swoops and stops right at your table. Most importantly, the food is delicious. I got miso ramen for $7 and Id rate it a 4/5 which is great considering ramen isnt their specialty. The mochi ice-cream was also delicious 5/5. Id recommend tiger roll and golden crunchy roll.

Today I had a disappointing experience at the sushi restaurant Ive been a regular at for over a year. The old serving lady accused us of forgetting to insert a plate, which was an honest mistake which has never happened before.She also accused us of not inserting two more plates which was an add on of Crispy squids.It was particularly frustrating because, every time we ordered the crispy squids, they were consistently charged separately. Instead of acknowledging the oversight of them mistakenly not charging it, the serving lady accused us of trying to get away with not paying, treating us like thieves. She also said that weve been getting away with not paying for those dishes and if so, why would they let us get away with it for over a year and not call me and ask me to come back and pay the way they did today. She then demanded me to insert the 3 plates and when I was going to insert the two plates (which was clearly too big and not meant to be inserted) she told me to just leave it. The disrespect we faced in front of everyone was disheartening. Kura Sushi, I hope you consider hiring staff who better represent your brand. As someone working in the hospitality field myself, its disheartening to experience the way the serving lady accused us of things we didnt do, rather than acknowledging their mistake. Accepting responsibility for errors is crucial in maintaining trust with customers, and this incident has left me disappointed with the service at Kura Sushi in Torrance.If this is how they treat their regular customers, I cant imagine how newcomers would be treated. The lack of understanding and accusatory behavior has left a lasting negative impression, and due to this bad experience I wont be returning to this restaurant,

First time here and it was such a cool experience! Ive been to other revolving sushi places, but this one allows u to place an order on a monitor and it will deliver the food above the revolving sushi on a conveyor belt. Looks like all plates are the same price as it is calculated by you returning the plate in a slot right next to your table! Anything different can be ordered through the monitor, including drinks. We went at about 3pm for a super late lunch and good thing bc at 4, there was a line to get in.

I come here at least 2 times a month. The app that they have to make a reservation is very easy to use and very useful. It lets you know the wait time and when your turn is ready. The service is great. All the hosts and waiters are very nice and welcoming. They even have robots that go around and deliver water and condiments. Very cool atmosphere. All the food is very good. I got lucky, randomly seeing the place as I drove by. Inside was a perfectly serviceable revolving track sushi bar. The unagi was perfection. The salmon skin nigiri HUGE. The only faux pas was a handroll (special order via a touch screen), that was entirely too full of fish and rice which led to an epic explosion on my plate. Still, I left full and sated. Its been remodeled since I was there laat 5 years ago. Still affordable sushi. Come on a weekday and after lunch if you wanna avoid the crowds. Good place for kids too. Top spot for sushi in Torrance. Not because its the best sushi (its still pretty good), but because of the serving style. I enjoy watching the food travelling across the belt until I find something I want and take it. Its like seeing a live menu and being able to reach your hands in to pull the food out. Service is also great and appreciate the free refills on soda. And if theres something you want but dont want to wait for the belt, you can just do a special order on the screen, never takes more than a few minutes to arrive.

We dined here for my husbands birthday. It was about an hour and 20 minute wait for a party of 11 on a busy Saturday night. Its a small space so We split into 2 neighboring booths and enjoyed our experience, greatly. We had tried to eat here before, but there was a line so we settle for another restaurant, we decided to try this again during the week.Just then another waitress noticed and rushed over to our table and took care of the domes my friend popped off and slowly showed us again, shes the one that showed us that you hold the base plate and lift unclick it up and out.Then after 30 min ish the experience got a little better. They have a small plate disposal a hole in the wall, at the end of the table as you clear your table and make room for other plates,its supposed to count how many plates you use and then thats how they calculate your bill?Self checkout on the tablet at the table.Keep track of your plates take a pencil and paper with you( or cell phone note pad) because unsure if we were charged correctly it said we use 10 plates? I questioned but theres no proof and unsure if the color of plates also make a difference going down the plate disposal? The food is great.You can also order food and drinks on the tablet at the table and your food order comes and stops right at your table on another conveyor belt above the revolving one and the waitress brings your drink.Very futuristic. Food is good, although a little pricey given the small sizes. For example the rolls are cut into 3 pieces about half an inch wide so probably about 1/3 the size of a roll from other sushi restaurants. I have been a fan of Kura in Torrance since I first found out about it but lately I’ve been increasingly disappointed by the unjustifiable price increases and the smaller portions—in short, they are being super skimpy. Today, the Takoyaki was almost empty, it was filled with air. The hand rolls were half-filled and mostly sea weed and the bottom has completely empty (imagine a finger roll vs. hand roll). I feel super cheated and sad because I was rooting for this place to stay reliable so it can be a treat for me and the kids whenever we wanted to splurge. The prices increasing significantly, coupled with the skimpiness, just makes it unreasonable for us to keep coming. I rather go somewhere else because this place doesn’t seem worth it anymore.

It was fair. Pick your seat wisely. The items tend to be gone if your seat is at the counter. And they only put out 3 plates of each item. Which clearly isnt enough when the restaurant is full. The reason I rate this two stars rather than any higher is due to the fact that I called to get on the waitlist at 7pm and was given a two hour estimate, which would normally be fine, however we were seated at 9:15pm and were able to eat until 9:30pm when they stopped serving sushi on the revolving trays. We spent $40 on a mere 15 minutes worth of service. Again, this may have been fine had we been warned that they stopped serving sushi 30 minutes before they close, however we were not aware until the trays kept coming around empty. It is unfortunate that anyone who arrived at the same time as we did were served half a meal and left hungry. This was originally a special night out for our first time at the revolving sushi bar and first time on the west coast. Hopefully they will learn from this and at a minimum warn their paying customers of this issue beforehand rather than allowing us to believe we could eat for more than a 15 minute window. Once again, great sushi and service, just poor experience due to incredible lack of communication.

Im a huge foodie, very glad I accidentally found this place. Go hungry and thirsty, you wont regret it. Personnel is welcoming and attentive. Prices $$ are average. Flavors are decent.Unfortunately I was given ginger with a hair on it, we presented to waiter whom apologized and brought out more ginger 🤯 I was ok with the apology but not happy when I saw more ginger come.Im aware these are things that will occur even at the best places, but I personally think they should be handled better.

I keep coming back. I bring more friends and family to eat the tasty, reasonably priced food. I recommend you save room for dessert, the soy ice cream and donuts are a great meal ender. Im a fatty, and I am a picky eater. Be prepared to wait, theres always a wait, today we were the first ones there, and still had to wait for a table and it was worth it. Go now, what are you waiting for. Ill gobble up all of the food.

I starting going to Kura when it was Kuma and had just opened in LA.There were sushi chefs making food from ingredients but the other day I saw them opening up wrapped packages of fish brought in(?) from somewhere else.You used to also get prizes for fewer plates eaten.AND plates are now 1½ times what they were when they first opened.

Been to Japan a few times and its not too far off. They all have their own charm and uniqueness. I like coming here because its always a little bit different as they will have certain specials and promotion items based on season etc. Makes it fun and new. The food is always good and you can use their touch screen menu to order something of you dont see it on the belt or just want more or dont want to wait to get it as it will be there minutes after ordering. The price is fair and the food is good, I come here alot and even over traditional sushi places because of how convenient and fun it is and I always leave happy.

My first time at a revolving sushi bar and what a concept. Ive heard on them but never been to one yet. If you see something coming around, just grab it. But if you want something from the menu, just order it from the screen above you. What really impressed me was the speed from when you ordered to when you got the food. Way faster than any other sushi bar Ive been to. All that aside, the food was really tasty too. At a little less than $3/plate, a co-worker and I filled ourselves up for less than $30. Cheap, very tasty, and great service. I will be back next time Im in Torrance.

Be prepared for a long wait, but there is a long wait for a reason.Very technological, was very much like a sushi place my friends took me to in Japan.Im not an expert but the fish looked and tasted fresh. Not very fishy at all. The staff was very responsive to needs (and you can prompt them with the electronic screen when you need something).Worth the experience, but be polite to those waiting and dont sit around not eating.

I love sushi. Its quite possibly in my top 3 favorite types of foods. Revolving sushi is even better. Near instant delivery of your order and its delicious. My 5 year old also loved watching the belt and felt curious enough to try different things because it was so intriguing, so now I have a kid who likes eel. Thanks Kura! BAD head hostess 10/31. Using the web app wait list. We were called and came within 10 minutes. One of the waitress said we are getting your table ready. Then head hostess changed our seating without telling us. When I asked about our table she said wait 2 minutes for her to figure it out. I had to go back and ask again after waiting 10 minutes. She said we need to wait 20 minutes if a table opens. If she just been straight up and told us we needed to wait instead of ignoring us, it would be no problem. Please improve your head hostess….

This place is great! Fresh Sushi at 2.25 a plate. If youre really hungry, 15 dollars will fill you until youre stuffed. There is no need to go to a buffet. This is a very fun place to eat because you can enjoy taking the dishes from the revolving bar, whenever you wish. While you are deciding, you get to watch all the yummy food items go by, until you find the next one that you want. The revolving bar is right in the middle of the restaurant, and the booths are situated in such a way that all booths have access to the bar. There is a wait, though, and it can be as much as 45 minutes, but you sign in electronically, and then they send a text message to your phone when your table is ready. I highly recommend this enjoyable way of dining! Its a real treat, and in addition, an added benefit is that the prices are pretty reasonable! You can order specialty items from a menu above the revolving bar, which cost a little more but are also well worth the price.

We visited Kura on a Sat. afternoon in mid August. They do not take reservations, so we had used an app at their recommendation to book a table. We had a decent experience with their food options. I dont eat raw food, so I felt there was a lot of waiting around for the cooked items to circle around to our table, but the dishes that I did have were tasty. Definitely more options with raw items. If youre visiting Kura, itll be a fun experience regardless of what you do decide to eat.

If you dont see what you want... u ordered from the tablet and it is delivered through a different conveyer. There was not a big variety of sushi and the rolls were very small. Since there are always very long line, I had very high expectations. I tried going on 3 previous occasions but never stayed because of the wait. Finally, we got to go on a Tuesday night. The wait was about 1-2 minutes although I called ahead and was told the wait was 15 minutes. This was great, but when we went was disappointed a bit. I did like though the fact that all items are the same price which makes it easy to keep track of your own tab. We ended up leaving fairly quickly to head to another conveyer belt type restaurant near by.

Kura is a very interesting sushi place. Their menu consists of tons of different plates and instead of getting a full roll you get three or four slices of a roll this means you can try a lot of different things. another cool thing is you order on tablet and sends your food to you via conveyor belt. Everything is usually made within 3 to 5 minutes or so, so you get your food almost instantaneously very cool! Foods good too!

If you eat 15 you also get a you from the vending machine above your seat and the conveyor belt. You can also order specific rolls and rice bowl that will automatically come to your specific seat on the upper conveyor belt. Its pretty great. This place is really somewhere between Its Okay and Liked It for me. Its very popular even in our post COVID world with wait times up to an hour during the peak lunch and dinner hours.They have a large selection of sushi, rolls, and miscellaneous cooked items like gyoza and udon bowls. Uncooked selections travel on a conveyor belt around the restaurant tables and sushi bar for patrons to select at will. You never know exactly how long any one items has been traveling around the room. You are able to order fresh from the chefs as well. Those orders travel quickly on a second conveyor belt to the ordering table.Overall the food is good although I do wish they had a couple of rolls that didnt include mayo mixed in or on top. The prices are very reasonable and the service is pretty good.

They have a system where you can order sushi on a tablet and it gets expressed to your seat by a direct conveyor belt when its done. Pretty cool! Ive been here a decent amount of times and love the concept of being able to order whatever kind of sushi I want and have it rolled out to me on a quick belt. That being said, I would recommend this place for the experience, the quality of the sushi itself is really nothing stellar, though normally I wouldnt care about that as much if it were cheaper. At $2.25 a plate (and the portions on the plates are not large), this place becomes really pricey really quickly after just 4 plates or so. My benchmark for cheap sushi is Sushi-N-Go (formerly Haru Sushi) located in S-Mart where you can get a tasty and sizable sushi roll for $6.Overall, good experience, good service, just really high cost for the quality and quantity of food received.

Great sushi, but the service is a bit lacking. The staff all seem very young, very inexperienced, and very stressed. Just getting a glass of water and some extra chopsticks was an ordeal.The sushi, however, is top notch. Every plate is $2.50 so it makes ordering and figuring out how much youre going to pay a breeze, and everything is delicious. What I like about revolving sushi is you arent committed to an entire roll - you can sample a wide range of sushi and really find something you like.This location can get busy but the wait usually isnt terribly long. Definitely recommended.
