Krumbs Cakes came highly recommended. We went in for a tasting for our wedding. I had prefilled an online form with our request prepared to have a sweet time with my groom-to-be. When we arrived for our appointment, they were not expecting us. Miscommunication on their end. I was hoping for a special experience. The person who did the tasting did her best to accommodate considering the miscommunication, which we appreciated.We had a Spanish-themed wedding and requested a ruffle around a three tier cake with one inch polka dots (I showed photos).In order to create the look we wanted for the cake, we needed to go with a fondant icing. Krumbs standard fondant is made with marshmallows. We asked if the gelatin in their marshmallows is vegetarian, they needed to get back to us on that. (Gelatin is made from pig bones. We are vegetarians.) In order to have a vegetarian fondant made for our cake, we were charged an additional $50. I was considering a buttercream frosting per our wedding planner, but it would not create the look we were wanting.When the cake arrived at our wedding, the ruffle was beautiful but the one inch polka dots, were tiny white pearls evenly spaced in a pattern, not what I requested and shared on the form and in my inspiration images.The vanilla cake with raspberry filling tasted amazing (minus the fondant).Our wedding day was beautiful. The cake looked beautiful (our florist crowed the cake with a cascade of gorgeous flowers), it was delivered on time and we all got to enjoy it. Christian and his team did an amazing job. My husband and I wanted to have a brownie cake at our wedding (and surprisingly that was harder to find than I expected). I reached out to Krumbs Cake and Christian responded promptly with the excitement to create a brownie cake for us (for the first time). We went in for a tasting and everybody was super kind and excited to create a brownie cake for the wedding. They really listened to us and did such an amazing job. We got a three tiered brownie cake with salted caramel on the top for just my husband and I to cut. For the guests we had sheet cake brownie made as 3x4 inch brownies with a dollop of the salted caramel frosting on top of each. The brownies were delicious and at the end, all the brownies had been eaten! I highly recommend Krumbs Cakes.

Krumbs cakes is our favorite bakery for custom cakes in the Bay Area!! Ever since they baked our wedding cake in 2011, weve been hooked! Their cakes are fluffy, moist, and the ingredients are fresh and high quality and everything is made from scratch. Christian is the friendliest Baker and so easy to work with.Theyve also baked cakes for some of our wedding anniversaries, baby showers, babys 1st birthday, kids birthdays, baptism, graduations, mothers day, fathers day, etc.Some of our favorite flavors are berry filling with chocolate cake, passion fruit filling with coconut cake, prickly pear filling with vanilla cake, and so many more! Also, Ive never had a Gluten Free cake that tastes as good as Krumbs!!Krumbs has created cakes for us including the following inspired themes: Star Wars, Mexican art, My Little Pony, Mermaids, Pandas, and many others, all of which we have absolutely LOVED!!!

Christian made our wedding cake exactly how we wanted. He was willing to make a 3 tier cake with two bottom tiers made from styrofoam. We both arent huge cake fans, so we bought a different dessert option for our wedding guests. My parents are traditional, so they really wanted us to have a cake to cut into for a photo. Christians willingness to provide styrofoam tiers allowed us to give my parents what they wanted, an elegant/extravagant cake to cut into for the photo, as well as save us money (only cost us $166)!We ordered a vanilla cake with Meyer lemon cream filling as well as a gluten and dairy-free cupcake with dairy free lemon frosting (for the gluten-free, dairy-free bride). We ordered a laser-cut cake topper from Etsy and got cake flowers from our florist. Krumbs cake delivered it to the venue before the reception began and placed everything on the cake. We loved how the cake turned out!

Highly recommend cakes or cookies from Krumbs Cakes. Christian and his team at Krumbs Cakes were absolutely amazing. We ordered two custom birthday cakes for my grandpas 90th birthday and brothers 30th birthday party back in October 2019. Both cakes were beautifully made. I coordinated our entire party and trip on behalf of my father, from Hong Kong where I currently live with my family. Christian was very accommodating and everything from design request, payment and delivery was a breeze. For the price, we paid it would have only gotten us one tiny custom cake over here in Hong Kong so we were beyond thrilled with the end results and had plenty of cake left over after the party.*Apologies for taking so long to post a review.

The cake for my wedding was beautiful. We had a 3 tiered cake, each with a different flavor. I only got to try the lemon layer, but it was delicious and very moist. They were even able to make me a Grooms cake kind of last minute that had a bourbon filling my fiancé loved! Thank you for the amazing cakes!

Christians cake was a major highlight of our big night. I wish I had a picture to show but the photographer needs a couple weeks to process the photo evidence.Cake tasting was fun and easy and the final result was the best cake weve ever seen (and eaten). Our wedding cake experience with Krumbs Cakes was perfect, from the beginning of the tasting to the free anniversary cake I picked up today. After my first bite at the tasting I would have signed a contract. After other bakeries had told us they couldnt do strawberry shortcake, for Christian it was no problem. The price was reasonable, and the execution and delivery were flawless. I cannot imagine any way our experience could have been improved. Thank you!

Our tasting was great and had a lot options to choose from for our wedding. We ended up getting the princess and the chocolate fudge with salted caramel. SO GOOD! Christian was the best wedding cake maker I ever worked with. We met at his San Rafael shop and sampled various cakes for our wedding until deciding on the most delicious. Christian is communicative and sees your ideal cake through to the last detail. His cakes are moist, and he has available more than the standard chocolate and vanilla. We had a COVID wedding!! We had a date change and needed to change our order and the people at Krumbs Cakes were agile and adapted along with us. They were a pleasure to work with throughout these difficult times. The day arrived and we were blown away by our wedding cake and cupcakes. Our wedding cake was beautiful … but wasn’t what we ordered. We asked for a vegan carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and without any communication ended up with a spice cake with crisco frosting. I love cake and was pretty disappointed to have a bland cake served at our wedding.Our tasting experience was pretty weird too. I know it was because of Covid and when I questioned they said it was last minute (I booked several weeks out) … but they weren’t able to give us a carrot cake sample. That shoulda been the clue.Im honestly amazed there are so many 5 star reviews. (Our cake was pretty dry and the frosting horrible). I shoulda just gone to Suzi Cakes or sweet things.

The crew at Krumb Cakes came through for us in such a short time frame, as we planned our elopement in less than a month! All I had to do was show them some ideas I memorialized from Pinterest of what we envisioned our wedding cake to look like, drop off some silk flowers I had left over from my bouquet (which I made myself) along with our custom cake stand and said Have at it!Krumb Cakes exceeded our expectations.. from the taste of our gluten-free carrot cake which was down right delicious, to the cakes aesthetics -- just simply beautiful! We used Krumb Cakes as our vendor because it was recommended through our venue but unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. We asked for a naked wedding cake but on the night of our wedding we walked in to a fully frosted cake. We sent many pictures regarding what we wanted and what we were looking for and followed up with Krumb Cakes at least 3 times via email, but our expectations were not met. The cake was still beautiful and the flavor was good but it wasnt the style we expected.

I LOVED my experience with Krumbs Cakes for my wedding cake. Christian was very responsive through email. The second I walked into the tasting, I told him that the cake was the most important part of my wedding. The tasting had a range of flavors - we got to sample fruity, subtle, and rich flavor profiles. He gave helpful tips about decorations and he answered all my questions on the spot. I signed with Krumbs Cakes as soon as I got back to my car and had a chance to review the notes I took from the tasting. Wow wow wow. Krumbs Cakes really came through for us when our VP was celebrating a milestone birthday and we were going to miss an in-person celebration due to the pandemic. Not to worry - we were going to surprise him with a delicious peanut butter and chocolate cake while he was conducting our N. America call on Zoom! He is an avid cyclist who loves the bay area so that was the cake theme. Carol not only came through with the perfect order, but had to deliver in time to make the surprise for the meeting. A small hiccup in delivery almost cost us when we were given an incorrect address - but she saw it through and figured it out. Needless to say, I would use them again - the cake turned out beautifully and they went above and beyond in service.

Fantastic cake! Not only did I have an unusual design idea that Christian executed beautifully, but the cake was so delicious! I love a good champagne cake, and Christians was wonderful, which is saying a lot because many bakers try to pass off vanilla cake dyed pink as champagne cake. Christians is the REAL DEAL, and the strawberry filling put it over the top! Plus he was a pleasure to work with. A great guy and a talented baker. I would not hesitate to use Krumbs Cakes again! I cant say enough good things about Christian and his cake! He was thoughtful and considerate during the process. He took a recipe for Italian Cream cake, a southern cake that he had not made before and made it better. We had more then enough for everyone and then some. The delivery was prompt and professional. I ordered a two tier cake for my wedding. I struggled to find a place that could make a gluten free wedding cake and was relieved to find a place that didn’t charge an obnoxious amount for it being gluten free. I live out of the state and couldn’t fly in to taste test so it was a big hope that it would taste at least decent. My expectations were blown out of the water.The colors did end up being wrong the day of, because I requested a green color on the lower portion of the bottom tier with a silver band. We ended up getting a black color and gold band. The day of it was such a huge deal but having the colors I requested would have been nice. But to be honest, this was such an insanely good gluten free cake that I couldn’t be too upset about the colors. I have *never* had a gluten free cake that good in my life. The icing wasn’t too light or too heavy, and the flavors were so well balanced that I had to take a second to pause when I took my first bite. If I could order one have Krumbs cakes ship me a cake for my birthday every year I absolutely would.

We had an emergency where our original cake maker decided to schedule a bigger event over our wedding just a few weeks prior to our wedding. Krumbs Cakes stepped in and delivered on a cake that was far better than what we had expected with our previous cake. Several months later, I needed a vegan cake for an anniversary party. Christian is amazing!! My daughter and son-in-law made the decision to work with Christian after interviewing several other bakers for their wedding. Christian’s patience, his understanding of the wedding process, and most of all, his infamous, delicious, exemplary cakes are to die for. He will work with you until he gets it right, you can taste almost anything you want to taste and then you can customize your cake however you so desire. The finished product is gorgeous, and, of course, scrumptious, and the guests “oo & aah” from the time they see the cake until they are finished eating it and have come back for seconds. I was looking for a custom-made fondant piece for my sons 10th birthday cake (which I purchased somewhere else) to replace a cheap topper. Krumbs came through and made a perfect custom-made design! It turned out perfectly as the other shop that made the cake not only made the wrong cake, they never made the cheap topper I was expecting. Needless to say, Krumbs saved the day! I knew I wanted Christian from Krumbs Cakes to make our wedding cake after, I saw his amazing cake at a friends birthday party. First came the tasting....soooo much fun, and hard to choose, but then we described our “thoughts” for the actual cake. He sketched a few pictures and once we agreed, I wasn’t sure it would be as dramatic as he described. It was 1000x better than we imagined!!!We were able to taste the cake when we first cut it, but the entire cake was consumed!!! (a rarity at weddings). The toppings were preserved in the freezer, so thankfully, we have some memory for our one year anniversary.His catalog shows some unique cakes, but ours was a superlative! He nailed the look to perfection and the cake tasted devine.The only reason I gave 4 stars(and as an event designer this could be partly my fault) I asked that each tier(there were 2) be different flavors.I was disappointed when I cut into the 2nd layer and it was the same as the top.It was great but I was looking forward to a different cake.Christians cakes are not cheap but well worth the price if you appreciate and know the difference between a “store bought” or “Costco”Cake.Just make sure before you finalize your order that the paperwork says 2 DIFFERENT flavors.I was in a bit of a rush and did not take my time looking over the proposal, otherwise I could have caught the error.

The best cake Ive ever had!!!After calling every bakery from Santa Rosa to San Francisco, nobody could accommodate us with a GF cake.Victoria bakery said they could do a GF cake, however my daughter and her fiancee arrived on two separate appointments and was told the basker was not available.?????Another bakery in Greenbrea said they could make a round one, but not square. They didnt have any square pans????? Really????Christian was a life saver, very logical. Not only can he make GF but he could make it in any shape we wanted. He said you can make a round cake and cut it into a square. Can you imagine that!!! Brilliant!! He also asked why we needed GF, I said the bride needs it. Then he said since the bride only really eats one or two pieces, we could just do the top layer GF. WOW!!! This guys on a role now!!We scheduled or taste testing and OMG, first he showed up, and then we had the best cake EVER!! Both the GF and the flour cake were amazing. We had about 80 people at the wedding and EVERYBODY LOVED THE CAKE! Not one person even knew the difference between the GF and the regular. Christian drove the cake all the way to Stinson Beach and decorated it with the flowers I left for him.Will never buy a cake anywhere else again!Thank you Christian!!!!
