My wife and I have been getting into the pond life for some months now and I was looking for a local place to see Koi in person to purchase. Came across this place with a Google search and decided to give them a try since not too far in West Sac. Amazing decision!Couple of things to note: They get their Koi personally from Japan, and it shows. The fish are gorgeous and healthy.Also, they have a ton of options! Yes it will be more expensive than a pet store, but you get what you pay for. I have a couple Koi from pet stores, and there is for sure a difference, not just on color vibrancy but on personality. The new one from Koi Enterprise isnt as scared of me.Bought a beautiful platinum butterfly Koi and its gorgeous.The couple that own the place have been there for 20 years (I asked) and they are extremely nice and helpful. I very much look forward to going back, just need wait until I have the funds to buy more.

Koi Enterprise is a family owned small business located in West Sacramento. Its operated out of the extended property of the owners house. The owner, Anthony, in my opinion, is The Koi expert in the region. They have a very good selection of Koi and Koi pond products.Anthony has been around Koi and Koi ponds since he was 13, when he built his first pond. He was trained by a Japanese Koi expert that even took him to Japan and showed him the ropes. He continues to travel to Japan regularly and bring show quality Koi to the US legally (Vet cleared, quarantined etc). Anthony has been tapped by researchers to lend his expertise and knowledge about the fish on research projects. When you talk about Koi to Anthony, his sincere enthusiasm about Koi is quite evident. I think he is the Koi Whisperer. :)I started my Koi pond project and I was stuck. I spoke to Anthony over the phone and met him at his shop. Initially, I hired him as a consultant. . He kept me apprised electronically about the appointment (reminders etc.) Once he saw my partially manifested idea, he agreed to help me finish it. i am happy of the end product.Bottom line: I wholeheartedly recommend Koi Enterprise for all your Koi needs.

I recently bought 3 fish from Koi Enterprise, and I am very happy with the size, quality, and health of the fish! Ive had them for around two weeks: they have settled into my pond, are eating well (by winter standards), and have lots of energy.I bought the least expensive fish, which were approximately 6 inches long and $50 each. There were three well stocked ponds of fish to choose from at the lowest price point. The man who helped me was helpful and patient. The process of picking out my fish was fun. The other employees I interacted with were all nice too.I went to two other places that sell koi in the Sacramento area: a pet shop and another koi focused business. Their lowest prices are lower, but the fish are much smaller. Both places had obviously sick fish in a high percentage of their ponds. Similarly sized fish at the koi focused place started around $85. Of all the places I went to, Koi Enterprise had the best quality fish and the best service.

Got a couple fish from Koi enterprise a couple years ago they really have grown well and the couple times I’ve been in there Anthony has always been available to answer any questions I have about fish or filtration. really enjoyed going there, I would give them 5 1/2 stars if they would have more yellow and white Hariwake!

Anthony and his crew did a wonderful job designing and building our koi pond. He is so knowledgeable and knows how to get the job done well. There was a large tree stump previous to the koi pond, him and his crew hand-dug it out, 3 feet deep. We now have a beautiful koi pond in its place. He will come back and correct any issues or concerns that you may have without any question. Excellent service as always!!! :)

I’m saddened to post this as I have been getting my Koi here for years. I have always loved coming here and enjoying the large fish pond out front. I came again a week and a half ago to pick out two more Koi and discovered some of the ponds in deplorable condition. One pond had 5 inches of algae in it, which was consuming the fish. Almost every container had dead fish floating in them. I don’t know what changed over the last year, but for some reason it seems that nobody really cares about the fish here anymore. I did end up buying two fish and noticed that when I got home, one of them had Ich. I did get it treated successfully. I called the business to let them know, however, I was not able to get a hold of Anthony. The lady who answered the phone only took my name, and that was it. I’m just really disappointed and I don’t think I will be coming back.

Just left this business. We have purchased from them previously and always were assisted by a younger polite and helpful gentleman. We came in today for specific items. We have had our koi pond for 30+ years. Today an older female was on duty, she was rude, condescending and argumentative. She refused to see if she had or could order the items we needed. The koi died less than two months after isolation then put into my large healthy pond. No other fish died no way predators could get it. Notified koi enterprises and got no response. Maybe just go to Pets Smart

I am new to the Sacramento area and the proud new owner of a Koi pond.Knowing very little about Koi, I began me research online and than began visiting various Koi pond related businesses in the area. I kept searching until Koi Enterprise was recommended to me by a neighbor, and I made a visit to them.I was welcomed by a friendly staff and was very impressed with the quality or fish and the depth of knowledge that I found there. I recently refurbished my 15 year old koi pond and was looking for some plants and also a few new fish. I decided to give Koi Enterprise a try and wow am I glad I did. My son and daughter in law went with me and as soon as we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman and ask if we had any questions or needed help. Over the next hour or so that we were there, Anthony answered a variety of questions that we threw at him and I’ve never met anyone so knowledgeable about Koi. I ordered a pond cleaning at my house and the price was very reasonable and they handled my fish with care and also gave me supplies and advice for how to maintain my pond moving forward. I also dropped into the shop to buy some lilies and plants for my pond and they were super helpful and knowledgeable about purchasing something that would best fit my pond size and needs (cutting down on algae production). The couple that runs the shop are also the nicest people ever and they have two adorable dogs that loves to snuggle. I cant recommend this place enough.

My pond looked like Pea soup. I cleaned it with chemicals a couple times, but it always came back. I had Koi Enterprise out and they suggested I get a UV light and a filter. They installed both in a very professional manner. In about 8 days and one back flush of the filter I was able to see my beautiful Koi once again. Great job guys!Thank you Koi Enterprise

I am a picky person, a PhD scientist, and have refined tastes from living in Japan. Koi Enterprise rebuilt my old Koi pond. My pond is the pond from hell, and it still is! It has given us problem after problem. Koi Enterprise, and especially Anthony, the owner, has been exactly what I needed. Our experience was very good. Our only problem had to do with being cancelled because their worker was ill. He was so terribly nice and finished in about one-half hour. His bill was $85, parts AND LABOR! My biggest problem was the $350 charge just to drive out to our property. That comes to over $100/hour driving time.

When I bought my house 5 years ago I inherited a koi pond. I was in a panic because I hadnt the faintest idea how to take care of the pond or the fish in it. No stars if I could.. Ive been trying to speak with some one at Koi Enterprises about a new pond filter setup for a month now. On 10/07/17 I had a 9:30 am appointment with Anthony at my residence he never showed up and No phone call. My schedule is extremely busy 7 days a week and I had to move my calendar around to accommodate the appointment. Disappointing because Koi Enterprises and Anthony came highly recommended. Since then, Ive left several messages for a call back to discuss pond filtration system options and upgrades. Theres a pond filter system Koi Enterprises sells and is the only distributor in Sacramento And want to buy the system. Brownstone Gardens is an outdoor garden venue located in Oakley. We have 2 ponds with waterfalls on the venue and have really struggled to keep them clean. After some research we decided to reach out to Koi Enterprises and see if they could help us. Anthony came in on Friday and spent about an hour with us. I was extremely pleased with the information that he provided and the way he provided it-there was no hard sale. We will be reaching out to them in the future when our ponds need to be cleaned and any other issues that we may have.UPDATE-had an issue with the UV light-Anthony was out within a week and got it fixed. When we purchased our home, there was a fish pond in the yard which soon became a horror of leaks. Koi Enterprise did a fabulous job rebuilding the pond. The builders went above and beyond to create a water feature with two waterfalls. The rocks are arranged to allow vegetation to be included. Anthony built a koi pond next to the walkway, behind a wall, in front of our house. It has a rock waterfall, but the surround is tile that matches our front porch. Because of the filtration that Anthony installed, we have never had a sick fish.
