We worked with Kim to buy our forever family home in Torrance. Going through the experience of buying a home is a roller-coaster and stressful event. After searching for the right agent we were blessed with finding Kim Doner from COMPASS. With her knowledge and years of experience, we felt confident and equipped to make those difficult decisions. Over the years we have worked with a number of real estate brokers when looking for and buying homes in the Los Angeles area, and without a doubt Kim is one of the very best we have ever worked with. Our hunt for a second home located in the South Bay lasted almost two years. Throughout our lengthy search, Kim was patient and always attentive to our questions and needs. I began the process of first-time-home-buying by soliciting advice and support from my office co-workers and out-of-state family. However, due to LAs extremely competitive housing market, I never quite felt comfortable or prepared for the work to come. Ive sat here for over an hour trying to find the right adjectives to describe Kim, articulate our gratitude to her, and words are failing me. Our real estate story is like so many of yours and Im sharing just a small portion of a much larger story. When we first started our search, we were all over the place and didnt have an agent. I mean, were all clearly experts in the field of real estate because we watch hours of HGTV, right? We met Kim at a house she was selling and we immediately clicked with her. It was her professional demeanor, knowledge of the area and genuine interest in our family that convinced us she was the agent for us. With Kims guidance and encouragement, she helped us identify exactly what we wanted and where we wanted to be. Thats no easy task when youre trying to be budget conscious in the South Bay with a very specific list of needs and wants, but she rose to the occasion. We thought we found the one a few times over the last couple of months and every time the seller accepted another offer we felt worn down and defeated. Our failed offers had nothing to do with Kim and everything to do with the 5-10 offers we were up against..several of which were cash offers. Cash is king, right?. However, Kim was always right there to stop the pity party we were throwing for ourselves, said the right things to cure bruised egos and encouraged us to keep searching. We will never work with another real estate agent as long as she is in the game. I cant imagine a better agent to work with than Kim Doner. Ive had the pleasure of working with her twice; first on selling my moms house and then selling mine. She really does her research and is extremely familiar with the areas and properties. She helped me to get my place in order and then list it, and made the place look like brand new while still keeping an eye on not over-spending on non-essential fixings. Kim Doner is the absolute best -- A true five star gem! Hands down, from start to finish, Kim provided the single best customer service experience I have ever received, in any profession. As a first time home seller, I was terrified of the real estate process. Yet Kim sold my duplex when 1) I didn’t live in the city, 2) during a pandemic, 3) and while it was tenant occupied. Her team painted, repaired, mended, scheduled, and dealt with city regulations on my behalf. She coordinated everything with escrow, walked me through the disclosure process, and always stayed positive. I just got to relax. Not only that, but she also helped coordinate all inspections, appraisals, viewings, and city visits with both sets of tenants (duplex). I can’t even begin to describe how relieving it feels to let a professional take this part on. If those were all of Kim’s highlights, I’d still say she deserves more than 5 stars. But the truth is that she did more – she communicated almost daily with updates, gave advice, listened and acknowledged my needs, and made it happen. Ultimately the house sold for almost 80k more than I thought it would. I can’t believe I even considered handling this myself at one point. I would work with Kim again in a heartbeat. Trust me. Therere so many good things about Kim, that we dont even know where to start. We are first time homebuyers and weve been talking about buying a house for a few years now. Seeing how competitive the market is nowadays, we started reaching out to realtors for general advice. This meant the world to us as first time homebuyers; she alleviated any anxiety of buying a home and truly made it a fun and exciting experience. She really likes to get to know the buyer so that she makes sure to get the perfect house. At the same time, she meant business and she’s strategic too. When it came to bidding wars (which is always the case in the South Bay), she always got us into being one of the top considerations.
