Kim and her team did my hair and makeup for my engagement photo shoot and wedding and I couldnt be more thankful! Im someone who doesnt wear a lot of makeup so I wasnt sure exactly what kind of look I wanted, but Kim did such a great job taking inspiration from my outfits and a few requests. Aside from her incredible work, Kim is just a wonderful human being who was great to spend time with. Thanks Kim!

Kim Baker Beauty is awesome! Im writing this from the perspective of a wedding photographer. Her team did makeup and hair for a bride/bridesmaids I photographed. She was very communicative, even before the wedding, and made sure that her team was finished with plenty of time before photos.On your wedding day, its so important that your wedding vendors work together and I loved that she was so conscientious of time and made sure that the couple got where they needed to be with no stress. I think this is a huge part of being a great makeup/hair artist on wedding days!Also - all the ladies looked stunning!

I hired Kim to do makeup for my wedding, and Im so glad I did. Kim is thoughtful and kind, a great listener, a skilled artist, and wants to do whatever it takes to make you feel great on your big day. I loved being able to meet with her multiple times before the wedding to discuss plans, what Im looking for, etc. She has you take skincare surveys ahead of time so she can work with you to make sure your skin is looking great on your big day. She also has a great energy and is a fun person to have in the room while youre getting ready. I highly recommend Kim to anyone who wants to feel so so beautiful but still look like themselves. As Kim called it bridal glam, but you!

Kim and Lupe were incredible and very patient working with my wedding party, which ranged in experience from someone who had no idea what they wanted for their hair & makeup to someone who brought extensive references and asked for specific changes. I am an anxious person by nature, even more so when I have to be even partially in charge of any kind of event, and Kims calm and practiced work made me feel so much more at ease. She was even able to incorporate a golden laurel hairpiece that I was worried wouldnt work, but it did, and I felt like an empress on my wedding day.I particularly appreciated Kims skincare product suggestions, which I still use a month out from the wedding and plan on continuing, swapping out parts as needed. Ive come to enjoy my skincare ritual in the mornings, and my partner has noticed the difference and started looking for some of his own to use!Kim Baker Beauty did hair and makeup for me & my wedding party at the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco.

Kim was my makeup and hair artist for my wedding in July 2022 and I could not recommend her enough. Her style is very low-key and natural, yet absolutely stunning. She knows so much about working with all different skin types and types of makeup looks to create the perfect personalized look for my wedding party! She had me upload my inspiration photos and consulted with me and my own facial anatomy and hair texture and length to make the perfect makeup and hair look for my wedding day and it was better than anything I could have dreamed of. She continuously checked in throughout our entire process of working together and was so communicative and open to questions. While we were getting ready, Kim had such a calming, grounding energy that REALLY helped with my nerves and made my wedding morning such a special experience. She is so warm and friendly yet chill and really made us all feel so beautiful. She did our absolute dream hair and makeup for myself, my mom, my maid of honor, and one of our guests and all four of us kept looking in mirrors throughout the day saying how do I look this good?! I used Kim Baker Beauty for my wedding day! Kim, Lupe and Alicia were the makeup & hair artists for myself, my 4 bridesmaids, my mother and the mother of the Groom. They were fantastic! They were so easy-going and offered a calming, relaxing experience on what could surely have been a very chaotic, stressful morning. I loved working with Kim for my trial; we worked together to figure out what I liked and what could be improved for my actual wedding day, though I still walked away needing a little time to process the look and refine my feedback. I am pretty particular about certain parts of my makeup--Im not a fan of blush on myself, I like a very neutral lip color, I like my eyebrows shaped a certain way, etc. Once I figured out what needed tweaking, Kim was super receptive and nailed both the hair and makeup on the day of my wedding. My Maid of Honor also had a hard time figuring out how to communicate how she wanted her hair, and Lupe was also very receptive to the feedback and was more than willing to tweak the style to make sure it was just right for the MOH. Im so grateful to have worked with such a flexible, accommodating team!

If I could give Kim Baker Beauty more than 5 stars, I would!! My wife and I got married in Saratoga, California a couple of weeks ago and we couldnt have been more thrilled with Kim, Lupe, and Steven. We got hair and makeup for ourselves and our bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, and even a little kid makeup for our flower girls.Our priorities were to feel present on our wedding day and to feel like ourselves, just a little more polished. We dont wear makeup on a day to day basis, and so we didnt want fake lashes or extensions. Kim worked with us to help us achieve our vision for our hair and makeup and encouraged us to give her extensive notes about what we didnt like at our preview (SO hard to do as a people pleaser, but Kim created a safe space where we were able to do so).My wife Ali thought she wanted a glowy look, but ended up going completely non-glowy on wedding day and LOVED it. She struggles to have her hair hold a curl for more than an hour, and Kim did such a good job her hair was still wavy the morning after the wedding after sleeping on it all night!I found out at our preview how particular I am about having my makeup done, and Kim let me do my eyeliner and eyebrows myself on our wedding day. It was the perfect balance of feeling pampered by Kim but still feeling in control of the things I am very picky about!Both of us have very sensitive scalps, and Kim made sure each and every pin felt comfortable and wasnt pinching. It made a HUGE difference in our stamina throughout our long crazy wedding to not have the added sensory nightmare of pins buried in our heads.Full disclosure, Kim is a dear friend of mine. But she and her team also hit it off with the rest of our bridal party! Theyre in selfies taken while getting ready, and they even got our shy junior bridesmaids chatting and laughing. I recently had a photoshoot for business headshots. Kim was there two hours ahead for hair and makeup and then stayed the entire time. It was so reassuring to have her there; paying attention to the little details and making sure I looked fabulous throughout. I could not be more honored to have chosen Kim as our makeup artist for the day. From the get go with our trial, her calm and relaxing demeanor made me feel so much more relaxed and confident that I was in good hands! She really made us feel connected on a deeper level as friends and she always checked in with suggestions and happy thoughts! She truly did the extra and went above and beyond. She stayed with us through first look photos right up until the ceremony, and she was right there to bring me a smile and calm my happy tears with her magic brushes! As a person whose skin is sooo oily, i was so concerned that my makeup would melt right off...NOPE NOT THIS TIME! My makeup stayed flawless through a night of kisses, dancing and (sweating :/). I do not wear a lot of makeup to begin with and she made me feel incredible and perfectly made up with just the simple touches! We went with the natural lash extensions for the day, and Im never looking back :), I cannot believe how much she brought out that inner beauty and glow. Kim Baker Beauty is a fantastic business! I chose them initially because they had a good Covid-19 policy, and they offered basic hair+makeup services for men. I don’t think I found anyone else who had that listed in their regular services.When I did a video call with Kim, she was very kind, fun, and had great advice, and great patience for all my questions. I wear makeup extremely rarely, so I was very little help. Kim explained a bunch of stuff to me, and gave great suggestions, both for the makeup, and for a pre-wedding skin care routine. She recommended several products (which were lovely!) and gave me a whole routine to do. She tailored it completely to my needs, including asking how good I am with sticking to routines and how overwhelming it might be to have several products, which is such a great question!Kim also arranged a schedule for the hair and makeup services that was detailed out with who would be working on who and when. That was very helpful to have early on so that we knew how much time we would have for pictures.A week before the event we did a hair and makeup preview session with Amber, one of the artists who was going to work with us on the day of. She was fantastic, listened to what we were looking for and gave advice (which we definitely needed!) She was very patient with our questions, lack of knowledge, and lack of intended vision. It was very very helpful to do a preview, and especially with Amber working with us on the day of the wedding.On the day of, we worked with Amber, Koryn and Ari. They were all extremely professional, highly skilled, friendly, and kind! We did have to swap one person around who was a bit late, but they took it in stride. And I asked for some slight tweaks from the preview, which were put into practice perfectly!All three artists were right on time and worked diligently and quickly. They listened to everyone’s requests, gave advice where needed. I got married in Monterey, CA and used Kim Baker Beauty (specifically Kim) for my bridal hair and makeup. Kim was so professional on top of being so kind while my bridesmaids were buzzing around. I was worried about looking like a completely different person, and Kim made sure I looked like a glowing bride. She was the first vendor I met day of and set the tone for a very relaxed day. Kim has done my makeup on quite a few occasions and her work is always flawless. Most recently, she did my makeup for my wedding day back in June and it was perfect. The way she applies face makeup (which I have always had an aversion to) made it feel like I had little to nothing on so for me it was very comfortable. Kim does a great job making your skin look amazing and somehow manages to make her work last so long! After my ceremony in 90+ degree heat, my husband and I went to do sunset photos hours later and I had asked my photographer to fix any makeup that may have gotten smeared/messed up and her comment was wow, it still looks perfect so to me that was a huge testament to Kims work. Id recommend Kim to anyone in need of makeup services!

Kim and Amber were amazing throughout the whole process and did an amazing job on both my own hair and makeup and the rest of my wedding party. I never wear makeup and my (now) husband dislikes it so I was most nervous about looking like myself on my wedding day but Kim checked in at every stage to make sure I liked the way the makeup looked and felt like myself. I was worried about having my makeup look too “cakey” and Kim did a great job helping me look natural. I also really appreciated her magic in getting my mascara not to run, even on my outdoor wedding day which had a high of 85 degrees Fahrenheit! I recommend doing a preview if you can, so that you don’t have to worry on your special day. Even though having a professional do your makeup is more expensive than having your friends do it, it pays to hire a pro so you can relax and feel your best. She did a great job with my hair, too.

In a sea of wedding vendors, it can be overwhelming to find someone who will not only make your vision come true, but be an absolute pleasure to work with - Kim is one of those gems! I highly recommend working with her if you have the chance. She did my wedding hair & makeup and trial, along with the makeup for my 3 MOH/Bridesmaids.She was very accommodating when scheduling my hair and makeup trial, even meeting me at my office on a Friday despite it being a few hours out of her way. During the trial she asked me questions about my skin and beauty routine before giving me samples and recommendations on how to best take care of my skin during the 6 weeks leading up to my wedding. She listened thoughtfully as I described the hair & makeup styles that I had envisioned - a natural face that made my eyes pop & a partially up hairstyle. While she did my makeup we bonded over our shared passion for early childhood education and of course talked all things weddings, the time flew by!When she finished up we discussed some of the things I loved, and some things I didnt like as much as I expected to. She took these notes and ended up even buying a few specific pieces of makeup to use on me - the final result the day of the wedding was absolutely perfect!! Im so glad we did the trial, it allowed me to learn exactly what I wanted, while also giving Kim & I time to get to know each other better before the wedding day. After all, she spent the full morning in the bridal suite with us, so it was important to me that we genuinely enjoyed each others company! She was so easy to get along with, my mother, sisters, and friends all loved having her with us.Finally, knowing that I tend to run sweaty & it was going to be a gorgeous day out, Kim thought ahead to put extra setting spray on my makeup, and hair spray - especially important for boogying on the dance floor! I just have to say Kim, owner of Kim Baker Beauty, is truly AMAZING! I love her personality, she’s super easy to talk to, her suggestions are helpful and most of all I LOVE the way she can do hair and makeup!! Kim came to our Airbnb in Soquel. She did my hair and makeup for my wedding and two of my daughters hair. Her assistant Kelsey did the makeup for both my daughters. My eldest is super picky about her makeup but loved what Kelsey did! And my youngest daughter has never worn makeup before and was super excited with how she looked after! My hair is super thin and doesn’t hold a curl. Kim researched different ways to help my hair stay styled all day. And wa-la…it stayed! You can tell she really loves what she does! Our hair & makeup stood the test of time! We were married in Henry Cowell Redwoods, then took photos on some beach in Santa Cruz followed by a reception in Capitola! Our makeup remained flawless and felt so light!!! Kim did my makeup for my wedding this month and was awesome! Shes calm, kind and creative. She used high quality products during both the trial and the day of sessions and listened to what I wanted. Kim also did makeup for my mom and mother-in-law who were also ecstatic with her work. We all felt like she enhanced our features and made sure our makeup lasted all day. She came prepared to the trail with a look based off of some pictures and feedback I gave her and after a couple tweaks we ended up with a look I loved. She listened to what I thought and had either great advice or suggestions to give. She provided a subtle glam look for me that was absolutely perfect.Not only did she amaze me, but she also provided great service for the rest of my bridal party who all loved her work. I had a wonderful experience with Kim Baker Beauty! We had a ‘Girls Night Glam Session’ and it was fantastic! I had a complete makeover with Kelsey doing my makeup and Punita doing my hair - so indulgent and so fun! They both did amazing work, making me feel so pampered and looking so fine! I have super curly hair and Punita straightened it perfectly - I looked like a different person! My makeup experience was amazing - not only did I look amazing but Kelsey’s touch and brush work was like a massage for my face - I have never felt so pampered And the end result was exactly what I had hoped! Kim and Amber brought all their equipment to our hotel suite on the morning of the wedding (including a sound system which played great music while they worked). After moving, my skin was having a difficult time adjusting, but Kim gave me skin care recommendations that helped correct my problems. When I got engaged, I was nervous about finding a natural make-up artist for myself and my 8 bridesmaids, because for your wedding, you really want your make-up to be perfect. Ive never had my make up professionally done because I like the way I look when I do my own make up so I was apprehensive I wouldnt be happy with the end result but I am SO happy I ended up booking with Kim. TL;DR: Kim Baker Beauty is fantastic and you should absolutely book them!When looking for a hair & makeup artist, as a queer couple, we were a little apprehensive about finding an artist who would be well-versed in hair & makeup for couples and weddings outside of heteronormative traditions. My wedding is coming up and I had no idea what to do about my makeup. I didn’t plan an artist into my budget and when I began asking for quotes quickly realized I unfortunately wouldn’t be able to have someone do my makeup for me. Then, I stumbled upon Kim! I saw that she offered bridal makeup, but even better makeup lessons. I figured at least this way I could sit down with an artist chat about my concerns and get a better idea of how to pull it off myself. Kim was super helpful and sweet from the first email, I sent her a list of all my products and she worked with things I already had to build my perfect look. She suggested a few new things which I was happy to purchase and try and then we set up our lesson. I showed her a few of my inspirations pics and then she walked me through my makeup look from beginning to end, correcting me when my technique could use improvement and teaching me some new ones as well. She helped guide me throughout the application but ultimately let me decide how dark or intense the look ended up being. She made notes so I could remember what we did throughout the time as well. The whole time we were chatting and it felt like getting ready with just a super helpful friend :) I left feeling a lot more confident about the whole process and feeling empowered to do my own makeup on such a momentous day. She was referred by my long-time hair stylist, and truly made my big day the best with not only a beautiful look, but also her calm, radiant energy and enthusiasm for my wedding.
