We’ve never had such a smooth and positive experience with a real estate before. We decided to look for a home to purchase during the Shelter-In-Place period here in the Bay Area and we were referred to Kellen Gauthier by our Mortgage Lender, Daniel Lee from Wells Fargo (who is stellar!). Kellen immediately set up a Zoom meeting to just chat and get to know us. He took the call from his home and his family was in the house as well. We quickly sensed and felt his genuine, down-to-earth, and yet professional personality. His communication was clear, approachable, and transparent and we felt excited to have him represent us. That meeting was on a Thursday and that Saturday he scheduled a tour of 3 houses in the East Bay, which is his area expertise (he’s an East Bay native!!). He knew exactly what we wanted and we found the house of our dreams that same day! He provided some guidance on what to offer for the house (in this case we offered below the list price), and that Monday the seller accepted our offer! Kellen then provided us with the sellers’ disclosures and the disclosures were clean. However, Kellen noticed that the inspectors that were used were not inspectors he was familiar with and suggested we hire our own inspectors. We took his advice and the new inspectors found a lot of minor damages (and one major damage) that helped us be more aware of what the condition the house was in. With that we were able to resolve some things with the seller. We really appreciated Kellen for having our backs and doing his due diligence in representing us. He wasn’t hesitant to communicate our needs and asks to the sellers despite how ridiculous they seemed. In the end, we felt good about our transaction and within a month we closed on our new home!Overall, Kellen is professional, transparent, empathetic, personable, and was timely in his communication with us with information we needed to receive and give. I highly recommend him!!

Kellen Gauthier is going places.One of the most sincere and effective people Ive had the privilege to work with. We hit a few roadblocks that could have ruined our deal, Kellen went above and beyond at every corner to make sure we were happy and informed. I could not imagine going through this process with another person, Kellen is absolutely the realtor you would want for first time or experienced buyers.- Great knowledge of the bay area- High technical acumen with visual expectations of the house- Always available- Will absolutely get you to close on your first offerMost importantly it is clear Kellens motivation is helping you buy a home, definitely the professional you want by your side.

We’d been renters all our lives, until well into our 50’s. After living abroad for five years we returned home to Alameda and set a goal to take the plunge into homeownership. We both have sensitive BS meters, so when it came time to find a Realtor, we had them dialed up. Right away, Kellen Gauthier at Keller-Williams Realty (Guy Blume Group) stood out as an open and honest communicator. To be fair, all the realtors we interviewed were impressive in their own way, but we knew right away that Kellen was our guy. He was friendly, responsive, and generous with his time and expertise.As first-time home buyers, there’s a LOT to take in. We told Kellen that although we’d done our research, we still needed some handholding. Our collaboration was easy and it felt like a partnership. Kellen was very accommodating with our requests for info and to arrange viewings. We had a fantastic experience working with Kellen to purchase our first home! He walked us through the entire process in a way that made a possibly overwhelming experience feel manageable and attainable. Kellen is the absolute best real estate agent. We recently purchased our first home and he made the process extremely easy by helping us find exactly what we needed and providing us with realistic advice and guidance along the way. He is professional, personable, knowledgeable, and an all-around great guy. He possesses vast knowledge of Alameda real estate and was extremely helpful in reviewing and understanding inspection reports. He also went above and beyond in helping us find multiple contractors and resources after we had closed on the property. We cannot recommend him enough.

As a veteran, my wife and I had access to the VA loan and purchased a home in Maryland with ease. After relocating to the bay area from Maryland we found ourselves in a completely different situation. Due to the competitive nature of the bay area housing market, it was difficult to try to find realtors that would work with a client that wasnt doing a mostly cash offer, let alone use a VA loan. We literally got laughed out of open houses by realtors at the first mention of the loan. Trying to buy a house in the bay area with a VA loan seemed impossible. That is until we met Kellen.When we mentioned we wanted to use the VA loan Kellen was very receptive. He immediately came up with a strategy on how we could compete in a market against other home buyers who were “better” financed than we were. This helped make the process easy and low-stress. Kellen was extremely responsive. We were able to text, call, or email him any day or time. He was extremely knowledgeable about Alameda and advised us on the best areas that matched our lifestyle. In less than 30 days we were able to go under contract on a house in Alameda with the VA loan. Something that apparently, was so rare that other realtor agencies mentioned the purchase of our home in their newsletters.Kellen did what at first we thought was impossible and he did it with his strategic thinking, wit, and a smile. We are proud to say that Kellen is not only the best realtor we have ever had, but has become a great friend.

I cant recommend Kellen enough. I was a first time homebuyer and Kellen took the time to walk me through the whole process (and answered a lot of dumb questions with good nature). He was able to quickly integrate my likes and dislikes into well-curated listings to check out and had a really good eye for things I wouldnt have thought to look for at showings.When it came time to put in offers, Kellen was really knowledgeable about the market and value of the properties and gave me all the advice I needed to make well-calibrated and attractive offers. He also put me in touch with lenders that offered really phenomenal rates.We were able to close in a really short period of time because Kellen was always on top of inspections, sewer lateral compliance etc. etc. and was always there to pick up the phone to answer any questions I had or sort out the latest hiccup.After such a long search, Im delighted to be in my beautiful new home. Im so grateful for Kellen being with me every step of the way and feel like Ive made a friend for life!

We started our home search more than a year ago. Initially, we were not very sure where to start or how to approach realtors. We would go to many open houses. We slowly started talking to Realtors, and we had many bad experiences with the first ones we talked to. They did things like:* Pushing their preferences on us and not giving importance to our requirements* Many times advising us to leave my banker and pushing us into private lenders known to them* Seeing disclosures documents but not highlighting the major issues in the house* Not going thru the house inspection, pest control and roof inspection documents* Not having much knowledge about their field and doing major mistakes in the process of submitting offersAfter facing all these issues, we were very frustrated and not sure whom should we trust.Then we talked to Mr. Kellen Gauthier.
