I was a first time kayak buyer with absolutely no knowledge or experience of the hobby. I felt I was immediately taken care of, and pointed in the right direction for a first time purchase. Instead of attempting to talk me into a more expensive boat, the staff listened, and took my beginner knowledge and my expectations of the boat for the locations I would be using it. The staff fitted me into a great kayak that I can build off of and learn the techniques. They assisted me with outfitting my new kayak with some essential gear, and made sure I was comfortable with everything prior to leaving. The staff helped load the new boat, and was on stand by for any other help I may of needed.Absolutely great business with some great staff! It can be intimidating walking into a new hobby / sport you know nothing about but these guys were top notch! I will highly recommend checking this place out, and I will definitely be back for all my kayak needs.

Great store! After browsing Craigslist & other sites for used kayaks for several months, I decided to look at Kayak City. We found exactly what I needed, brand new, for less money than people were asking for it used!! Brandon Watts, Director of E-Commerce, was helpful and informative. He showed me all the features on my new Hobie Passport so I could easily assemble and enjoy it that same day. My Old Town Predator PDL kayak arrived in great condition and was packed very well. On top of throwing in a paddle, Kayak City included two rod holders and two fishing leashes which was a very nice surprise.When i began unpacking and assembling my kayak i noticed that Old Town forgot to include a tension knob with the kayak. I called Kayak City and they told me to email them my order number/serial number/ and missing piece and they would email Old Town. In a matter of minutes of sending the email, Brandon from Kayak City had contacted Old Town and had secured the missing part for me.It was excellent customer service from both Kayak City and Old Town. I would highly recommend purchasing a kayak from Kayak City.

Well, I have to say I’m is extremely disappointed. After looking for months online for a simple part Kayak city is the only one that has it after calling all over the United States. I can’t believe they refuse to ship and I had told them that I would pay whatever it cost to ship it and for their time for packing and the owners reply was, they’re not equipped to ship what the hell is up with that I never heard of a small business walking away for $120 item plus shipping and handling especially during these times. What idiots.

They have a lot of information and let you sit in all the kayaks you wanted. Only had 2 people working so when four customer showed up at the same time I feel like that was a rush for them; one sales person was on the phone the entire time. Otherwise is a good shop… bonus if you are a fisherman this is your place.

Great place to get a kayak! I purchased my PA360 in 2020. Troy got me set up during the purchase. No strong arming or haggling. Recently, the bearings on the drive fell out and followed the instructions on their website to make a warranty claim. The process was super smooth and I didn’t have to do anything after the warranty claim was started. Hobie sent out a brand new drive. It took about 2 weeks. Brandon at Kayak City kept in touch with updates. Great service!

They had an advertised sale online, and I called ahead to make sure they had the kayak I wanted and what was advertised, a Pungo 120. When I got there the boat was in back, and I confirmed with the person it was a Pungo 120, they said yes. Okay, we do the paperwork and the register must have had a charge already in it because they tried charging me an extra $50. And then when they bought the boat out and put it in my truck it was a Pungo 125. They then tried to tell me it was the same boat - it isnt. I didnt feel like fighting with them, and since I am a bigger guy and my kid could use my old 120 I went with it. The boats may be in the same family, but they are different, I would recommend the 120 over the 125 after my test paddle today. When I asked the guy in the store, he told me my boss told me to give you this one, they are the same. Be careful with this store, they seem to play games.

Prior to stepping foot inside Kayak City, my knowledge of fishing kayaks consisted of quick Google searches and a handful of hours on YouTube. The staff at KC are extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer ALL of my questions. After multiple visits, I finally decided on a 2022 Slayer Max 12.5 and Troy called me and kept me updated every step of the way. Kenny, Brandon, and David were also extremely helpful throughout the process. I opted for some modifications and upgrades, and the staff at KC professionally installed everything, again, keeping me updated during the build. Communication is important, and the folks at KC provided a level of customer service that is hard to find these days. BIG shout-out to Troy for the added support and personal care, going above and beyond, and truly making this experience worthwhile. I will be a lifelong customer. I called at least 10 different locations looking for kayaks before I found Kayak City, and this was by far the best place that I came across. Not only was Brandon incredibly friendly and professional, but he was also patient with all of my questions, quick with the transaction and delivery, and offered fantastic additional advice. Thanks to him, I have two new beautiful kayaks in my garage after making the decision to purchase them less than a week ago. Ok experience. I’m not a fussy buyer. Ordered a 4K kayak online. They set a time for me to pick it up after I called in. I did not receive any other contact. They said meet us outside when you are ready. They wheeled it around, lifted it in the truck, asked to take a picture and showed me a couple things then disappeared. I strapped it down, went inside and spent an additional 600.00 in stuff. I don’t remember a single thank you. Just seemed like they could care less. I’m new to the kayak world so I don’t know what to expect. Hopefully I don’t have any issues and have to go back for anything cause I’m not enchanted by them.

Terrible experience. I ordered a Titan Propel 12 ft from here about 3 weeks ago. I was told a week after my order that they were out of the color I wanted. I switched colors and they gave a couple of rod holders and an upgraded paddle as an inconvenience. I had to take a day off bc the shipping company told me that it was going to be delivered on Wednesday, but when the driver showed up, he only had the pedal drive and had no idea where my kayak was. I contacted the shipping company and kayak city, neither of which had any idea where the kayak was. I finally got the kayak a week after and found that there was damage to it. A 1.5 inch gash to the hull and scratches on the side. I have tried to contact kayak city with 2 emails and a phone call and absolutely no response. Unbelievable when you spend $3000 on a kayak and this is the customer service that you get. If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would.

Ordered a Jackson Coosa FD at a great price. $400-$500 cheaper than the local dealers. Was a bit hesitant, to say the least, but they had good reviews. A week later it arrived with a good size gauge. I emailed them and they responded quickly and shipped another kayak out immediately. Next kayak arrived a week later in perfect condition. Great service. Make sure you follow their instructions on checking the kayak prior to signing for it.

Let me first say that I am not one to write reviews but I feel this company deserves it. I have nothing but positive things to say about Adventure Sports (Kayak City). The staff is very knowledgable and helpful and most importantly dont try to sell you something to make a quick buck. My wife and I were in the market for a new Hobie Outback and checked out another kayak shop. We were greeted when we walked in and asked to see the Hobie Outbacks. The gentlemen helping us walked us to the back of the store and pointed to several kayaks stacked vertically side by side and said there it is. My wife quickly asked if we could see it up close and perhaps on the floor and the salesman said well we have a Hobie Sport on display which is practically the same thing. He walked us to the Hobie sport which was also on a shelf horizontal about 4 feet high off the ground. He then walked away. We left right away and we went straight to Adventure Sports when they were located in Sacramento. Upon arriving we were greeted by Carl, he showed us the selection of Hobie kayaks and all of the optional accessories. In addition to this he insisted my wife sit in each one to ensure its comfort and controls. Long story short we walked out with a new Outback and Pro Angler that day and will be making all of our purchases from Adventure Sports (Kayak City).

Ordered a Hobie Compass from these guys. The kayak was described as being used once but it looked brand new when I received it. No visible scratches, still unopened accessories, paddle, and factory clean mirage drive system. Kayak was delivered from West coast to Va Beach in a week. Searched around for the pedal kayak I wanted ended up with the perception pilot which is a great kayak wish I could say the same for the customer service at adventure sports. These people are rude when youre looking to buy and when you have a problem with the purchase they dont try and help at all. Terrible place buyer beware. Better off ordering one from another kayak shop or sporting goods store. They dont back their own product.

Just received a brand new Eddieline Skylark in perfect condition. No other place has kayaks or will ship due to Covid out of stock runs. KayakCity and especially Brandon delivered mine in a few days. Old Dominion Shipping even carried it into my garage. The kayak was triple packaged to protect from damage and the boat was even covered in a cheesecloth to protect from scratches from the boxing. Truly great experience and wanted to leave this review because some other sites gave me pause with less than stellar reviews on the company and shipping carrier. My experience was top notch for both.

I received an Old Town Predator 13 as a gift from my 3 step sons about 3 years ago. I now wanted to put a trolling motor on it and needed it registered here in Texas to use the trolling motor. I needed the necessary paperwork to do so. My step son ordered the kayak on line, but could not find the receipt. I first called Old Town, they gave me the dealer the kayak was shipped to, Adventure Mountain Sports (Kayak City) they originally were unable to find any record of sale. But did give me suggestions how we could go about tracking down the receipt through Ebay or PayPal. Kayak City and I exchanged no less than 6 emails. They never gave up in their assistance in my search. Once PayPal sent us the receipt copy Kayak City is now sending me the needed paperwork for me to register my kayak. Long story short, they did not have to devote so much time and effort in helping me. This is the kind of support was so appreciated.

Adventure Sports (Kayak City) sent the kayak I ordered to the wrong address. By the time it arrived at my home it was badly damaged. The replacement kayak was advertised for sale as “a brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item”. The kayak had been opened previously and damaged in several areas. The damage did not happen in transit from their store to my home. Customer service was rude and unapologetic, using profanities.It took a month to receive my refund, and I had to ask PayPal to intervene.At the time of the dispute, Confluence Outdoor, the manufacturer of Wilderness Systems, Perception and Dagger kayaks informed me that Adventure Sports (Kayak City) was currently under review for selling substandard kayaks advertised as new condition.
