I had a very difficult photo restoration project I wanted done of my grandfather’s Army training battalion taken during WWI. Due to the odd sizes of these photos (52”x 9” and 34.5”x6”), the fact that the photographs are fragile and that I live over 1200 miles away, Karen and I were still able to work together with her giving me guidance and suggestions of what the best outcome might be. Karen put in several extra hours of her own time just trying to see if she could restore each photo but we decided to concentrate only on my grandfather and not the rest of his battalion. I couldn’t be happier with her results. Karen was quick with her responses to my questions/concerns and once I decided what I wanted, I got my restored photograph in a few days. I would highly recommend Karen to restore any older pictures you might have!

Sometimes, the reviews a person has leads to disappointment. Other times, they live up to or on rare occasions, exceed all expectations. Now, that is a tall order, exceeding all expectations, when that someone has a ratting of over 4.8 stars with enough reviews to suggest she is for real. That someone is Karen Vaisman of Karen Vaisman Photography. I reached out to Karen with what I thought would be a tough, maybe impossible job. I had 4 WWI Photo Postcards that had been made during the war, (Questionable processing) and sent through the postal system. They were quite damaged yet I was hopeful that she could do something with them so I could see my grandfather as a young man. A real Photo Restoration Project.Well, she shared with me after the fact that she started in on the job before making commitments because she wasn’t sure she could do anything with the photos. She didn’t want to mislead me and was willing, on her own, to risk her time to experiment. Well, she experimented, and the product is outstanding. It took all her skills, Photo restoration plus artwork to restore the old photos. She even had to recreate part of a lost image.Karen clearly demonstrates the difference between taking photos/Photoshop and the art of the process. This was my first time using a Photo restoration service. I had my hesitations when looking into this kind of service; however, searching through the internet, I found the services of “Karen Vaisman Photography,” not too far from where I live. I immediately proceeded to contact Karen. She responded to my request quickly and we talked about my project on the phone. I was advised of the limitations of the process because my photo was in fact a 60 years old black and white photocopy of my mother and in bad condition. Before she got to work, we had more phone conversations to make sure we were on the same page about the requirements and scope. Karen gave me an estimate for time and expense. At that point, I was totally convinced that Karen was the perfect person for the job-that is, she had excellent communication skills and an extensive knowledge and experience in the Photography and photo restoration services. I immediately sent her the copy of my mother’s old black and white photo, and a few days later she informed me that the restored photo was on my way. The final product far exceeds what I thought I might get. Karen did an amazing job restoring the old damaged pictures of my mother. I couldn’t praise enough Karen for bringing life into photos. She provided brilliant service from start to end. I love this picture of my mother. It shows fine detail on end product and amazing results. I highly recommend using Karen’s professional services for any photo restoration projects!

Im not very comfortable in front of a camera and yet somehow she turned our session into a marvelous and fun experience. She is technically brilliant and also such a lovely warm person that the time just flew by. I had an excellent experience getting a professional photo to use for speaking engagements and corporate board positions. I am not photogenic and have a tendency to grimace and blink in front of the camera. Karen is very talented at figuring out how to get me to relax and to capture the true me in the photos. There were so many good shots that I ended up purchasing several different poses. Karens touch up skills are excellent. Karen is a talented professional who has the unique ability to put her subjects at ease so that they relax even with anxious clients. I was an anxious client of an advanced age of 84. Shooting both family portraits and candid photos made for a fun Sunday afternoon. When we asked to incorporate family pets into the group photo, she handled it with patience. First, let me say, I havent been to a real photographer for head shots before finding Karen. In fact, I dont think Ive had a formal picture done since high school and I am retired! I had such a blast with Karen at our photoshoot. I wanted some photos to add to my online dating profile and Karen came to my ranch to photograph me with many of my animals. She captured the most incredible photos of me that I have ever seen! She was very patient in guiding me to help get the right expression and pose and also even helped pose the animals. Stated 500$ price was for one retouched digital file. When asked to clarify what that meant she seemed purposely vague as to what one file means. Found out we would only get one picture unprinted for 500$, each additional was 300$ unprinted. Would have been 1700$ for a handful of digital photos which took her maybe 4 hours of total work to produce. That’s 425$/hour for working out of a garage. Also needed advice from us on how to retouch our own photos, pointing out all of our flaws and offering to fix them. Expected a lot more of everything. Good wedding photographers don’t charge as much as she does and they give you albums and hundreds of pictures in the end. Also loves to complain. Sorry my daughter is crying but for 500$ I think you don’t have to tell me that she’s complicating our photo shoot. Also complains about us making her late for her next photo shoot without ever telling us she was out of time. I don’t recommend her.

This photographer is over priced and the quality of her work does not justify the prices she demands. If you have a complaint, she gets defensive. Karen does not go out of her way to make you happy unless you want to pay more money. She is not at all accommodating whatsoever. I would recommend you look elsewhere for your photography needs. All she needs to do, is to fix the problem - whatever it takes.
