Last update:Even after the seller tried to make things right, unfortunately the package came damaged. The seller included the Toranj Floral lavashak and the plastic box it comes in was broken and I’m not too sure where the sticky liquid came from but it ended up covering everything. I ended up throwing that one away. All of the other items were fine. I tried: the Sour Saucy Real Fruit Snack - a LOT of pits(!) but still good. Bite Size Fruit Roll Toffee - sweeter, but nothing really special. Wet Fruit Leather - With Sauce (Lavashak) - the best thing I got to try out of my package! Overall, I wanted to love, I think I just got unlucky with my experience.Update:Seller has contacted me directly in order to rectify situation, which is sincerely appreciated! 3 stars for now as seller was very friendly and explained delay. I reached out to seller via phone, whatsapp, and email collectively about 6 times. After the first week and two emails, I was finally responded to letting me know that two of my items were sold out. They offered me options to either refund everything, refund whats missing and send the rest, or to wait for everything. I replied back immediately to refund whats missing and send the rest. I then got a call and another email letting me know the same thing to which I responded the same thing. Last Thursday, I was told my order would be here by this Wednesday which also is well beyond the 2 day shipping they advertise. Now today, I get a refund for the full amount with no notice/confirmation as to why or what happened with my order.I just do not think theyre stocked/staffed enough to deal with the influx of orders due to social media. 1 star for my experience.

I could not be more pleased with my experience with Kalamala. The customer service is top notch, the quality of the products unbeatable and the shipping is very fast. I received my package a few days after ordering and enjoyed Lavashak (which has gone viral lately, and I just had to try 10/10) and other Persian snacks with friends. I also highly recommend the pistachio nougat. The texture is lovely and it has a great flavor!

Unfortunately due to a winter storm going across the country and delays in shipping, the produce arrived frozen. I ordered multiple items from this store on 1/17. On 1/24, I inquired with the store for tracking on my items since they were supposed to arrive on the 24th. The customer service only let me know once I reached out to them that the items I ordered were no longer available. They gave me options for different items or a refund, but they should have reached out to me sooner so that I could have when made aware of the situation. Had I not reached out, would they have reached out to me? Who knows! The lack of communication was frustrating. Ill have to order elsewhere.

Each item was individually hand wrapped in paper with layers of bubble wrap placed between layers of vegetables to ensure safe transit. I found Kalamala online store while I was looking for hedysarum water which helps me ease my arthritis pain. Since then, I made several orders and I have been happy with my orders. Their website is very easy to use and it has a variety of items. Prices are very reasonable. Every time, they get my orders very well wrapped and the quality they offer is top notch. I feel like they care about my order very much and they want to make sure I have a good shopping experience. I have ordered fruits, sweets, different herbal waters, etc, and everything has been fresh consistently. I live across the country, but the orders come quick and everything arrives in a good shape. Update:Just bought goje-sabz (sour plums) from Kalamala and am overjoyed. Anyone who knows the Persian culture knows how hard these are to come by outside of Iran and how much they cost. Kalamala not only sent emails when they had these available, but they did their best to send them to us in time. They arrived for my husband’s birthday, and we celebrated. I am so thankful for their existence!..The most wonderful Persian grocery store I have ever shopped from, and I have been to so many cities with Persian communities in the U.S and UK (including San Francisco, New York City, Baltimore, London, etc.). I have been to literal Persian grocery stores that claimed to have fresh stuff brought to them constantly, and none of them even comes close to Kalamala. Kalamala makes it so easy to choose and order, and they are beyond nice and helpful if you have any issues or questions. I bought Gaz, Sohan and lavashak (fruit leather) and they were all of amazing quality. They were super careful with packaging and my items arrived in wonderful shape. Im adding a couple stars to recognize the owners persistent follow up in the spirit of customer service, and proactive response to a 2-star rating. I was offered a refund, but chose to receive the original items requested as compensation for ad hoc substitution. We still dont agree on some operational principles, but the business deserves credit for diligently following through with inquiries to make things right.Original review:If Kakamala was an automobile broker, every time you order a Honda, you will receive a Toyota because thats what they believe is the best quality. Thats what the owner said following my complaint when they made the first unauthorized substitution. Next time, I asked specifically in the order notes: do not substitute! Yet, two of my items where substituted with different brands as if Im ordering widgets in bulk. Its hopeless trying to order a specific brand of product from this outfit.

I sent pictures to the company, we had a few exchanges via text and calls, and they re-sent me both packages. I do wish they would stop using plastic since it doesnt allow nuts to breathe and they get too soggy as result. Also, they offer Barbari and Sangak bread. And they have small appliances too. For example I got a Turkish coffee maker from them that works fine. I ordered rotab dates and was not ahppy with them. I order for Persian new year. My samanoo arrived broken and the fish spices had an expiration date from 2017.Six weeks later the owner began texting me late at night, demanding that I take down the above review. I asked for a refund and said that I would revise the review upon receiving a refund. I am still waiting. Confusing and unprofessional customer service follow up.
