I look my wife for a surprise birthday trip and we had an incredible time! The staff were extremely attentive, caring, and helpful in executing all of the birthday plans and preparations like helping carry in her cake, to decorating the room with roses while we were on our romantic boat ride. All around an amazing experience that I could not have accomplished without the help of the great staff!

We are currently at this resort and found the pool area extremely disappointing. I have been to many resorts and have not seen a more chaotic disorganized pool area. We are a couple and wanted to come for some relaxation. There is an “adult only” pool that has been filled with kids being extremely loud throwing balls. The other pools were even worse and packed beyond capacity with people and even to the point where safety would be a concern. The resort just seemed to overextend itself with conventions and weddings during a prime week and did not take other guests into consideration. The resort knows that the adult pool has lots of kids and yet no life guard as well. It’s a situation where a disaster is waiting to happen and just because they post a sign no life guards that would not relieve them of any liability as they knowing are well aware after talking with many staff that the pool is loaded with kids. Due to above it’s made it a less than stellar vacation. On the positive, we do have a quiet room which has been very nice. The staff has been nice but the answer to our questions is always they will bring it to management and it’s out of their control. I have never seen a main area at a pool as packed with lounge chairs overflowing into grassy areas. I hope management will take note and not overbook when they only have done much capacity by the pools.

This resort was gorgeous and immaculate. Lots to explore on the property, from a water feature with boat tours to an aviary and walking paths. Not to mention a beautiful pool and golf, among other amenities. The rooms were top notch and food at restaurants great. All of the staff was welcoming and friendly. I would definitely visit again!

First time staying at a JW Marriott. Beautiful views, great location, the pools are awesome adult playgrounds, they let you play cards in the lobby (if you tip well), and great food at the restaurants. Plus great gold course and stuff for the kiddos to do.The biggest issue was how dirty our room was when we arrived. Floors werent mopped, rugs werent vacuumed, there were dirty black spots all along the hard floor, long pieces of hair on the floor of the bathroom, a few curlies around the toilet....yea, it was unacceptable.Im not ever paying 300 a night again for a basic room that has floors like something out of Hoarders. Hard pass.

I must say I was very disappointed with my stay at this resort. I’ve stayed at many JW Marriott’s across the U.S and have had fabulous experiences but this lacked on many levels. I have a health condition called MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity disorder) meaning I can’t be in contact with chemical exposure, molds, cleaning agents, ect. It makes it very difficult to travel which is why I always call ahead of time to talk to the staff about how to make my stay a safe one. I discussed my condition with the gentleman I booked the room with in regards to not using any cleaners for prepping the room, that I bring my own with me and that I can’t have any mold in the room as well. I also called the week before my stay to make sure all those notes got taken so that I could be at ease. To be honest I had less anxiety going into my stay at this particular resort due to the higher standards the JW holds. Unfortunately after checking into the room I started having breathing issues and skin rashes, which are indicators of mold exposure for me. I found present black mold in the bathroom. After talking with a manager and explaining how disappointed I was to have to experience this since having taken so many precautions to have this not happen he simply offered another room and nothing more. Stating that this new room was on the newer side of the building in comparison to the other one I was in and that they were sorry they dropped the ball. For 24 hours I was not able to partake in the activities I was set out to do due to having to stay inside and recover from my symptoms of the mold exposure. I also had a lot of anxiety from my level of trust being broken and was made to feel that it was an easy fix to just move rooms. I was very taken back by the lack of empathy from the staff towards the situation.

Great hotel experience. Blanca resolved an issue with our reservation and was extremely welcoming. Terry taught us about all the birds on the property and let us help feed the swans. Loads of onsite dining options, Mikado stood out as entertaining and delicious. All the staff at the hotel from housekeeping to the bartenders were excellent. Rooms were clean, modern, updated, and had great views of the pools and surrounding mountains. Plenty of tables to work at with plugs and a Starbucks for an afternoon pick me up. Highly recommend!

Wonderful resort! The rooms have been redone, the amenities are great, but the service by the pool was lacking. On multiple occasions we would have to hunt down our server or be rejected by trying to order from someone who wasn’t “ our server.”The lobby store was well stocked. My only other complaint was you couldn’t order from the spa restaurant unless you bought a day pass. I want to order a smoothie after working out and was told I would need a day pass ( over $100).

We had an amazing experience at this place.Heads up is expensive but worth. From the stay, to the facility to the staff all amazing. Just perfect for a getaway of any type super kid friendly. The spa is divine. Go do a complementary Duffy ride fun with some cocktails. Will be back for sure.

Beautiful resort with beautiful rooms. Pros - gorgeous with lovely rooms. Incredible views. This is my 2nd time here. The first time I didnt stay. I only went to the spa and dining. Spa is amazing. Cons - Room cleanliness is meh. I was walking across my room carpet and my foot got stuck because it was sticky in various spots. Resort is HUGE and all the elevators are centrally located so if your room is in one of the wings be prepared to WALK to get to your room. I was really surprised that there were not as many elevators and know that other family members would have issues with the set up. Customer Service is excellent, view is amazing. Overall wonderful experience.

I stayed for Coachella and the hotel was great. It smells so good when you walked in, everything was incredibly clean. I always saw staff cleaning constantly while there and they maintain the building and grounds very well. Pool service was also very good, plenty of places to sit even on Saturday.

Lovely stay at the annual Benevity Live! Event. Very helpful and friendly staff, exceptional venue with a proper restaurant offer and plenty of relaxing spots.Id suggest though to amend the arcade room schedules and make it open in the evenings until at least 9 or 10 pm if possible, we went too late, it would have been a nice activity after dinner.

I actually enjoy my stay except the time that I have to deal with a rude overnight employee.During my recent stay at the hotel, I had a rather disappointing encounter with one of the employees. I believe it is important to provide constructive feedback to help improve the overall experience for future guests.While most of the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, I unfortunately had an unpleasant interaction with one particular employee. The individual in question displayed a lack of professionalism and rudeness during our interaction. Their behavior was unbecoming of someone in the hospitality industry.I needed a package on the mail room urgently and this individual don’t even try to give me options to retrieve it and when I asked to speak to the MOD he refuse to call him thankfully the manager just happened to be walking into his office and help me with my package I didn’t say anything to the manager because it was late and I just wanted to go and try to sleep..I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but it is crucial for hotel employees to maintain a high level of customer service. Unfortunately, this particular employee fell short in that regard. Their demeanor and tone were discourteous, which left me feeling frustrated and disheartened.I believe it is important for the hotel management to address this issue and provide additional training or guidance to ensure that all employees consistently deliver exceptional service..I don’t remember the name of the employee but he’s the only one on the overnight shift with a goatee beard.

Beautiful resort ! We had some trouble at check in, which was disappointing but after that things were great. We went for a mini weekend getaway and had the absolute best time! The resort is beautiful! There are 6 restaurants on the resort which are a bit pricey. Mikado was delicious. The pools were a bit over crowded, the golf course beautiful.

We visited the hotel for a night and the property is really nice visually, however it is the first Marriott out of hundreds Ive been to that has denied late checkout regardless of status (without explanation). I am lifetime Bonvoy Platinum which grants a 4pm checkout and we werent offered a minute over 11am which seems shocking considering the size of the hotel and checkout on a Monday. My fiance wasnt feeling well and we would have appreciated any additional time to relax in the room before heading back home. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired for an expensive hotel.Typically Marriott hotels automatically send a receipt after checking out but this hotel did not. Once I requested one a week later the charge line items did not add up to the total I was charged. There are plenty of nice Marriotts in the desert so I would chose another like the Renaissance Esmeralda Indian Wells instead. Service at the lagoon-side breakfast restaurant and Mikado were decent so this review is only for the hotel operations itself.

One of the worst JW Marriott hotel I stayed.1. 15 minutes waiting time to call concierge2. Water pressure of the shower is low. It takes me another 20 minutes to change the room.3. Hotel is poorly managed and allow the guests to speak loudly in the corridor for 20 minutes after 11pm.I guess it’s not a place for international traveller. You better spend a lot of time to complain, back and forth with the front desk, and sacrifice your rest time. Crazy!

Went here for a conference. It’s quite a dated property but the grounds are lovely.The conference space is huge and the food was delicious. The staff are helpful and courteous.However I think it’s not worth the price you pay to stay here. Over priced for what it is.

I have stayed at this location 3-4 times over the years and have always been impressed with the attention to detail. This time around, it is evident that standards have slipped.Cleanliness in and around the pool area has suffered. Floating debris in the pool, unswept walkways/paths and a general feeling that things are not kept up to the same standard they once were. Went to get a Starbucks at 2pm, only to see that they had closed for the day. Asked at the bar about the hours and got a response of “It depends how busy they are”. No real alternatives open until 5pm.With that said, I do have to say the staff have been polite and friendly. However, there just don’t seem to be enough around.With prices on the rise it very much feels like you are paying more and getting less this time around. Should be expecting a higher level experience at this resort.

I stayed here with my wife. We were invited for an awards gala for me being a top real estate agent in SoCal. The staff all around was first class from the check in counters, the bars, poolside, the boat rentals, and the restaurants. There were many things to do on the campus and plenty of ways to relax. Flamingo ponds were nice to look at. There was plenty diverse wildlife on the campus which made for a fun atmosphere. I can’t wait to visit again soon.

I believe the 4-star rating is incorrect for this location. I have stayed in the past, scheduled luncheons, business dinners, staff spa days, etc. at this location. The worst action was Non-accommodating people with disabilities and physical impairments.Upon entering this weekend, I witnessed filthy tables, disgusting bathrooms, and yelling employees. Yes yelling before you could even ask a question as if it was a requirement of communication conduct.We wanted a boat ride to our large, booked party for dinner at Mikado’s the boat employee yelled straight across at the group as if we were in a carnival line and that no rides would be available for us tone and facial expressions were aggressive, and threatening. We were then told to walk our disabled seniors (ADA) across the pool and upon meeting the pool guide we were screamed at again as we approached. Mind you the boat employees told us to go that route. The pool attendant also aggressive and physically threatening in stance and tone stated we must also go another way further around the location on an elevator.Once entering the restaurant, the unhappy employees made it very clear that our group would not be seated until they were all together yet all of us were present. Frowns on all front desk assistants’ faces. Our confirmation originally for this reservation was also in poor tone, rude, and threatening.Once seated we shared a table with customers served above and beyond the amount of liquor that should be required causing them to use profanity, slobbering when speaking, and just about falling over on other guests at the table while making racial remarks and profanity in front of children.After dinner, we politely asked for a non-dairy option the smores on the menu for my daughter’s 16 birthday. The staff brought out ice cream and stated while nondairy items were on the menu they were not available for us (reason unknown). We did not use any coupons and paid full price for 15 people.I’m not sure what has happened to the branding and customer service training at this location, but I will never spend my money again at this location. This JW is not much better than a 2.5-star in conduct and customer service. They missed the fundamentals of customer service, understanding your customer, handling mistakes to create a stronger bond, embracing the customer digital experience, and taking care of customers, If this is the Modern Marriot Experience I may just move to another brand for my points, locations, and stays.Shame on you General Manager you guys deserve an F today and not for Fantastic.

First, let me start off by saying overall, it’s a great hotel. The entrance to the hotel and the drive up to the valet is beautiful. The valet is spacious, and the staff accommodating. When entering in the main area of the hotel it is certainly awe-inspiring and spectacular. The view across the lobby through the glass windows to the pool area and the mountains and beyond is very welcoming. However, your challenge will be the Resort is very large and thus checking in can be quite a wait. The hotel needs to have all of their check in Register.’s operating during peak check-in time. Our room was comfortable, but lacked the polish and sophistication you would expect. There were cables and wires hanging down on the wall below the TVs. There were no snacks or food amenities in the room, and the mini bar fridge was empty. There is a Starbucks in the hotel, which is a plus. But given the size of the hotel, the number of rooms and guests the wait to get a coffee is crazy long. The Wi-Fi in the hotel is not secure which was is huge inconvenience for anyone who wants to get on the Internet. The pool is what one would expect, it’s comfortable with lots of seating and shade. And the poolside service was great. Overall it’s a fun experience.

This is a first class resort that has immaculate landscaping, golf courses and tennis courts. The golf courses in particular are so impressive. Lush. Plenty of lakes including lake terraces with embedded flower beds. They also have a boat launch in the main lobby that goes around some of the lakes. All this in a desert.It is gorgeous, but it comes at a price. If you can afford it, enjoy!

Just got back from a four night stay at JW MARRIOTT DESERT SPRINGS RESORT & SPA. We had a great start thanks to Lizbeth at the Bonvoy Elite members reception. Kudos to her for going above and beyond to upgrade us during a very busy hour as many guests were checking in at the time. We got upgraded to a Signature King room on the top floor (8th). Nice, spacious and modern room with all the amenities, very clean too. Awesome views overlooking the pools and the lake all the way to the desert and the mountains. The hotel service was excellent even through the busy hours. It is a big hotel with many guests and I was very surprised that we never felt forgotten at the restaurants and the bars. The hotel provides lots of amenities like shops, Spa, big pools (overcrowded at times), free boat rides to the hotels lake and sports activities. One of them is the great golf course that is available to the guests. Room service and in room dining service was excellent. The room amenities are also good including 2 nice bathrobes. The rooms balcony is a perfect spot to enjoy a coffee or a drink in the early hours when the temperature is cooler. The breakfast buffet at the Rockwood Grill is very good and has many options at reasonable prices for such a resort . Overall it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay as many others that we had at Bonvoy Marriot Hotels . Thank you for the hospitality.

My daughter stayed here the first time in palm springs. She took us here to look and it was very pretty with boats inside and a nice swimming pool. They even have real birds in a room that you can go look at. We didnt stay here this time because she said last time they found bugs.

I have been coming here for a while, landscaping and golf course are pristine, but quite disappointed in the slipping of cleanliness standards, namely around the pool area and in the pool. There’s been the same garbage on the floor for a few days that I’ve been here. The resort is not very busy right now, so no excuses.

First of all, shoutout to Blanca at the front desk and Terry the engineer who let us help feed the beautiful black swans on the property. Blanca helped us with a reservation issue and was so welcoming when we arrived. We were here for the SCAG conference and the staff was exceptionally personable and helpful. The conference was well staffed and they made sure food and drinks were constantly provided. Terry educated us on the black swans and geese on the property and we hope that they continue to thrive, the beautiful wildlife is a beautiful thing to witness and provides a unique experience for us guests. Also wanted to mention that we had to work here during our stay and the wifi was fast and reliable. We would hands down stay here and recommend this place.

What a lovely location and hotel property. We were impressed from the moment we arrived with the team’s attentiveness and helpfulness. We visited this property because for a conference, and were glad we found a bit of time to explore the resort’s outdoor space. As part of the resort fee, you are able to borrow bikes; though these bikes are not incredibly well-maintained, it was still wonderful to get out and explore the area. There are not many restaurants nearby, so plan to either take a lot of Ubers for meals or eat on property.We were not overly impressed with the restaurants and the prices were very high, but we made the most of it. There is a Ralph’s grocery store across the street so you can easily walk and grab staples/supplies.Love that the lobby Starbucks opens at 5:00 am — and the WiFi was very reliable on property, so you could start your morning early without having to stay in your guest room.Overall this is a great property and a wonderful meeting spot — if the biggest nuances is not having amazing food options on site — plus I am gluten-free so found it even more limiting — then I guess it is a great location to visit, and just suggest you make offsite dinner reservations!

Service at this place is exceptionally top notch.I locked myself out of my room and someone came to let me in within 5-10 minutes. My room was upgraded with no request upon arrival. The flamingos are beautiful on the property along with amazing golf course views. I’m planning to visit here again in August.

My recent visit to the Spa for a couples massage was marred by several disappointments. While the massage itself was acceptable, the absence of a coed steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi, undisclosed prior to our visit, significantly diminished our experience.Having spent $640, we expected a more extended and fulfilling visit, making the brevity of our stay (just an hour and 20 minutes) disheartening. The lack of communication about the unavailability of essential facilities only added to our dissatisfaction.In light of these issues, I am hopeful that the spa management will address our concerns promptly. Transparency and communication are vital in providing a positive customer experience, and we feel compensation is warranted for the shortcomings we encountered.I trust that the Marriott will take this feedback constructively and work towards improving customer satisfaction. We look forward to a resolution that reflects the value we anticipated when choosing your establishment.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! From moldy food that made us sick to staying in a room with broken air conditioning for two days this resort is more akin to a cheap motel rather than a JW. The staff do not understand decent customer service and fail to understand the gravity of customers ingesting mold. The air conditioning, which I had hoped would provide some relief from the oppressive heat outside, was broken beyond repair (see picture) Save your money and stay anywhere other than this property. STAY AWAY!

Just visited the golf pro shop and Adam and Kevin were amazing! I was very indecisive on choosing the right gift to take back home and Kevin really helped me in getting just the right gifts for my elderly father. Top notch service. I often stay at JW properties and the one in Desert Springs is among the most beautiful properties I have seen. It is so tranquil and calming with a stunning desert backdrop.My concierge Enevidina was so helpful and pleasant, which made my stay even more enjoyable.A star was deducted because my room was just okay and restaurant staff seemed to overlook me while I was seated and waiting to be served, despite spending lots of money there on every day of my stay!

It was one of the best Marriott. Everything was great except the lazy river which was closed and hotel did not notify her customers. We drove from San Diego to Arizona because of my daughter who wanted to have fun in lazy river. When we got there, we were told that lazy river is closed for maintenance!If I knew it in advance I would reconsider my trip.In general it is a nice hotel.

Have always wanted to treat myself with a stay here every since I saw the hotel used in an episode, or two of the tv show Saved by the Bell. It was also a treat for my 40th birthday this year. This hotel has stood the test of time since the episode was filmed in the 1991 and I believe it opened in the 80s and is still beautiful. Arrived Tuesday and left Saturday.Oasis pool water had really cold water. Now I know why Kelly (Tiffany Amber Thiessen) could have been really cold in the pool scene with (Zak) Mark Paul Gosselaar.I was very exited to do the twenty minute boat ride and it was fun and the captain answered all of my questions. Was surprised to see what I believe to be the exact same hats/hat Screech (Dustin Diamond) wore when he was pestering (Lisa) Lark Vorhees in a scene. Treated myself to an awesome massage at the spa also briefly shown the female characters in Saved by the Bell it had its own cafe, saltwater pool, jaquzzi, and sauna. It has a remolded gym where Slater (Mario Lopez) meets the princess. Not sure which restaurant they dined in on the property, but I know it changed too.The front desk was very helpful to let me change rooms three times to different problems. I was afraid I left my brand Pee Wee Herman shirt and I filled out a lost and found report, but I forgot to pack it. I think the room attendant could knew I was trying to sleep and I told her it was okay, but she said Ill come back. The staff was friendly and would greet you when you walked by. Because it is the desert they have cold water with cups in different places and provide two bottles in in each room. The mini golf course had a beautiful sunset and the wind was blowing the palms. I will be back to have another enjoyable and memorable stay. Brought three of my fave stuffed animals with me.

I have stayed here before and had a better impression. This property is not what it used to be.The dirty dish outside our room upon arrival set the tone for our stay. Was there for almost 18hrs after our arrival. This property staff has a bad case of “not my job”. First pic was our welcome at 10pm checking in…. Thinking “not great start but it’s late. Labor might be an issue. It will be gone soon”. After finding the hardware issues in bath thought I better start documenting. The second pic was after 10am the next morning. Note housekeeping had already knocked an hour earlier. That’s when you realize it’s systemic.Maintenance is an issue too. The toilet door hinges in our bathroom are failing and therefore won’t close fully. The barn door from master to tub is stuck so the picture perfect moment of soaking adjacent to your bed doesn’t work.When you pay 700+ a night you expect the basics to be covered and then hope you are wowed. They failed us on the basics and the wowing never came. Food on property was mediocre. The bars were the highlight and they were really just normal bars.I can not recommend. This property is no longer worthy of the JW brand.

Beautiful property and wonderful associates, especially Veronica Bush. Veronica made my stay one of the best stays Ive ever had. She is a true gem & the property is extremely lucky to have such an amazing ambassador of hospitality. I mentioned I was traveling for my birthday. On my email correspondence, I let the guest services team know that I LOOOOOVE palm trees, and kindly asked if theyd consider ensuring my room had a view of a palm tree or two. Palm trees have always made me happy. Veronica replied and said shed work on something special for me. She let me know she was going on her days off and when she came back, she would look at the inventory and let me know. To my surprise, Veronica upgraded me to a Signature Suite! When I arrived, I was able to check-in early - thank you! I also was greeted by a phone call after check-in from Veronica, where she asked if Id be in the room because she had a surprise for me. To my delight, here came a birthday balloon, champagne with 4 flutes (she remembered my friends were joining me!), a beautifully written birthday message on a dessert plate, and charcuterie - my favorite. A beautiful resort with incredible views and lots of amenities and activities. There is no complimentary breakfast but the room service breakfast is incredible, yet expensive. A standard breakfast for two is over $100. The service is unfortunately slow and the front desk is understaffed. We waited for the phone to be picked up for over ten minutes on multiple occasions. I also had a package sent and I had to jump through hoops to get it and waited hours for it. Somehow it ended up in the lost and found. The parking is very limited all around and all handicap spaces (maybe 10?) were already being used every time we tried to park, which made coming to and from the resort a nightmare since the place is huge and requires a lot of walking (or rolling in a WC). A lovely place on the surface, but unfortunately didn’t stack up in the service.

I recently visited the spa with high expectations for a couples massage experience. While the massage itself was satisfactory, the overall visit was far from what I anticipated.The major letdown came when we discovered that the coed steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi were not available, and this was not communicated to us beforehand. The grounds and setting of this hotel are magical! The hotel itself falls short. I went for a little solo trip and mainly chose this hotel due to the spa. If you have a family with kids this is a great spot, otherwise look for something else. I was originally in a room in the very end of the hotel with a door outside and a wonderful mountian view. I booked this outer room because I assumed it would be away from the hustle and bustle, I loved the little courtyard when I stepped out of my room. No upgrade offered despite status, that’s fine probably wasn’t available. I liked my original room despite the paper thin connecting door that led to a room with several kids who were up coughing all night. I felt bad for the kiddos but the walls were to thin it sounded like they were in my room. I asked to move. The front desk agent said only a downgraded was available, I was bummed but really was up all night with the noise so agreed to the downgrade. They moved me to a room in the main lobby of this giant resort hotel, right away I could hear children running around yelling, why would you put someone who complained of noise in the busiest part of the hotel? Moved again, downgraded room type (no view), fine it was quieter at least. No compensation for downgrade, customer service was purely transactional.For me what really lacked at this hotel was attention to detail. That’s what separates luxury from standard box hotels, I would definitely not consider this a luxury hotel. Maybe an elevated family hotel at best. Everything in this hotel needs a refresh. The spa was nice, noting extraordinary but at least I could use the pool and not be swamped by children.In the end I probably just chose the wrong hotel for the style of vacation I was on. I’d come back with kids, but I wouldn’t pay over $300/night until they renovate and train staff is customer service.

And to add insult to injury, I watched them making my plate from the buffet.The service staff was hands down amazing. Did not ask my choice for the Welcome Gift. 4. Did not inform me of any of the activities or restaurants on property. 5. Did not ask if I needed a late checkout.I think you get the point, and as reference if youve been with Marriott for over 20 years you know these are the standard questions that are asked. There was a time(3 years ago) that if you were not asked these questions the property would have to pay you cash as a result.Please note, this property does not have a Concierge Lounge and they make you choose between points or a breakfast certificate where most other properties give you both.The suite I was placed in was dated. The bathroom was nice but they forgot to update the living room area. We went there multiple times during our stay. We played mini golf after that also very fun! as long as there’s golf clubs available inside & the lights are on you’re good to play! & lastly the food. Aquifer65 is the restaurant right in the center of the lobby! lastly my wife did the spa last minute, they had availability and took her in immediately. My experience at this Marriott fell short of all expectations. The registration process was normal. The distance from the parking garage to the room was significant and required two elevators to make the trek. The room had uncomfortable furniture, poor lighting and wasted space (especially the table area and bathroom). The hallway where my room was located was flooded by rain for quite some distance. The hallway situation was addressed to three workers. This was a mess that guests had to walk back and forth through. I would not recommend this Marriott location.

In all my travels, this is my favorite hotel! We have been coming here off and on for 30+ years. When our children were little, we brought all three in the summer for a spectacular summer price. What can I say? Just walking into the hotel lobby is quite an experience! It is open and inviting. There are five floors of balconies. A small river flows down to the lake with a grand staircase on either side. There are boats docked inside, ready to take you around the lake and right to your restaurant. The rooms are clean and comfy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I like that the pools are large, and there are plenty of lounge chairs to sit on. I enjoy hanging out in the grand lobby. Its so cool and refreshing after walking in the desert heat. I love visiting the pink flamingos who hang out in the lake out front. The long driveway to the hotel is accentuated by colorful flowers, and even the cacti have beautiful flowers. If you want peaceful relaxation, this is the place.

We brought my mom here after visiting Joshua Tree National Park on Christmas Day. There were many activities to do. The lobby had beautiful Christmas decoration. The hotel upgraded our room to have a patio with a nice view of the pools and gave us complimentary snacks for my birthday!Note: We had to call the front desk to order room slippers, after not finding any in the room though.We signed up for the free boat parade activity where the boats would decorated with lights and circle around the resort’s lake for 15-20 minutes. It was very pleasant and we saw swan families on the lake. Some of us enjoyed the hot pools at night. It was a bit chilly at night but the pools were super warm.Next morning, we rented bikes at the front desk (included with the resort fees) and did a sunrise bike ride around the resort. The bike path is right next to the street with many cars so it was a little scary. I prefer to ride bikes on a distinguished bike path away from cars and pedestrians. Thankfully there weren’t too many cars because we biked at sunrise.We bought coffee and pastries at the cafe across the street from the resort but the lattes were not that great.We reserved the pickleball courts for 9am-10am. Make sure you reserve it early or it will be full. (you can make reservations 2 days before your hotel stay) we borrowed my sister’s 4 pickle ball rackets and had 2 free rentals on credit as a hotel guest. Ball rentals are $5 each call, so it’s also better to bring your own if you have family nearby.After, we visited the flamingos on site. They were so lovely! We were so up close to the beautiful birds.Later, we spent some time at the arcade. You have the option to buy a $20,$30,$50, etc card. I think $20-$30 is more than enough for 2 kids. My kids weren’t interested in too many of the games except the racing ones. There was a Star Wars game that my daughter liked also.After that, we went to our lunch reservation at the restaurant Rock Grill and the food was very good. It took a long to come out because they make the pizza fresh.Afterwards, half of us swam and the other half played mini golf. It was such a fun time together!

I recently visited the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa over the week and spent a weekend with my family. I was very satisfied with the amount of kindness and respect every staff/service member holds. The lobby is beautiful, with high ceilings and have boat rentals that open at 4PM. All the staff are super friendly and always making sure that you are well and satisfied. I want to say a special thank you to the cleaning crew, they are very hardworking people. We had left to eat brunch, and our room was very messy. After brunch we had came back to our room and came back to a beautiful, clean, organized room with fresh towels, with water bottles. The staff at the pool were beyond friendly always attending me and my family. There is much to do on this resort. There is a little hidden spot I found near the Spa & Gym where you can sit near the lake with a garden. The pools are great! The Daybed rental that me and my family got was worth the price. It came with a bucket of waters and a fruit tray along with some lemonades. My parents would not stop talking about the Spa and how great the Salt Pool is. We are defenitely coming back soon again, and I am bringing ALL of my family with me.

No where to clean your clubs, limited food drink options close to golf, going to the range requires getting in a cart, putting area was pretty small. Golf course was well kept. We went to this JW after a quick trip to Joshua tree. Great spot. Not too far away from food and a Safeway across the street if you need it. It was hot so the pool was nice! Poolside bar service was perfect. We did the innovation kitchen at the restaurant and the chef and host were fun. The room was pretty large. Double balcony. Overall, id definitely return. I highly recommend.

The spa experience was 10/10, highly recommend it because you get the amenities for the whole day, including an 18+ much quieter pool with food/bar service. Really great experience overall, just wish it was an 18+ resort as it was very filled with children.

They have a decent sushi restaurant in the main lobby area overlooking the lake they have surrounding the hotel.Their valet was decent - $11 up to 3 hours.Conference area is quite a hike which is pretty usual for all the hotels.Heard from my colleagues that the rooms are recently remodeled and looks nice.

I took a walk around inside/outside & appreciated the design of each trail, thoughtfully planted cacti & babbling brook this desert oasis has to offer.The aviary & garden left me wanting more, but I still enjoyed taking the time to explore these areas.Our room was beautifully appointed with industrial style light fixtures, wrapped in rattan & solid wood. Lots of great backlighting kept our stay cozy & warm.Room service was top notch & the food was delicious. Especially breakfast. I’ve had avocado toast at many restaurants & hotels.. Stayed here for our 26th anniversary. This place is amazing. From the moment we arrived we were treated very well. All the staff are kind and helpful. Our room was ready upon our arrival. The pool view room we had is well appointed and very comfortable. Our only regret is it didnt have a bath tub with the doors that open to the room. We were kind of looking forward to that. We stayed in the summer during an excessive heat warning with temps up to 118 degrees and though the room was comfortable it never really was cool.The common areas are beautifully kept and there is much to explore here, especially the aviary. We hoped to play a round of mini golf but the heat was too oppressive. The fitness center is really nice with machines and free weights and a room were you can do your yoga or pilates routine.The pool area is beautiful and there are three pools to enjoy. However, shade/protection from the summer sun was not plentiful and the pool bar does not stay open past 5pm when it finally started to cool off so BYOB.My only real complaints are they could use some misters around some of the common outdoor areas to cool things down a bit and the lack of handicapped parking spaces in the self parking garage which is the only parking with protection from the sun. There are only two handicapped spots near the elevator and that made it difficult for me some days.Overall still a great place to stay and I look forward to coming back soon.

Where to begin… we pulled up to this hotel because we had a boat reservation at 6pm and dinner at the Japanese restaurant onsite…. There is no self parking, valet only. The valet crew is majority younger men who geeked over our vehicle and made comments about who was going to drive it. When they opened the door they were surprised that it was a manual and all looked disappointed and called the one older gentleman to park it. This made me feel uneasy like the younger crew would have taken advantage if they could. Moving on to the boat ride, it was late and didn’t show up until 10 min past. We get on the boat and the young woman driving immediately states that it’s her 4th boat tour ever conducting and makes a comment that if anything goes wrong we could put the life jackets on that we’re in the front of the boat. There were 2 life jackets and 7 people aboard this. I first thought it was a joke until she kept stressing the entire party out by saying she was uncomfortable with going under the bridges and “she’s got this”. She complained about how fast the other boat in front of her was going, how small the entrance and exit was that the boat had to go through in the hotel. It made my anxiety cringe. We got dropped off at the restaurant and she said she had never dropped anyone off and the other staff told her to do it like a “drive through”, well she hit the boat on the dock and my husband has to grab the dock so we could try to get off of this nightmare of a ride. The water also smells horrible, if you do the boat ride before dinner, it WILL ruin your appetite. I thought this hotel was going to have professional staff based on the reviews and photos, it was not a good experience. It left me feeling unsettled the entire time I was on their property. I’m just glad that I didn’t book a room here, I will not recommend to anyone.

I booked a two night stay for my anniversary at the JW Marriott desert springs spa and resort unfortunately this place did not meet my expectations. Check in went smooth the lady was very nice and friendly as expected. Walking into the room I immediately noticed I was not given the room I booked I specifically booked the room with balcony. I went to front dest to complain about the room they gave me, I was told they did not have any rooms with balcony available for two nights, then I was told one was available with a driveway view which I was unhappy with then apparently they had another room available with a beautiful view. They accommodated me in the nice room with balcony and view but unfortunately the room had a bad ac unit it did not cool the room at all. Also the pool chairs have to be rented ahead of time if you dont want to sit in the sun which I also didnt like. The arcade had machines that were down which was unfortunate since the first night we stayed it rained which left us with not much to do since the pool was closed for the rest of the night. If you do plan on staying here please do your research and read the reviews so you could find the right place!

We had a very unfortunate stay at this property - which is in fact huge convention property and not really suited to family vacation. The room was spacious, bathroom great - but unfortunately during our stay the bathroom ceiling come down due to a waterless above. This was not a problem for us - the problem was with the fact that it took three days for the property too clean up the debris from our bathroom floor. This is where the property really is worse than any limited service property - though the hotel is clearly well if not over-staffed, service levels are appalling. We did not have our room refreshed for a couple of days, and when they did it was to a very poor level. Reception was at best unfriendly at times deliberately unhelpful. Warning to all Bonvoy members - even though almost empty the property will not adhere to the usual perks. In summary, maybe ok for a large conventions, but def not a place for a relaxing vacation. My negative highlight was that although some days there were only a handful of guests at the pool they charge a 25 Dollar premium to have a pool chair in the first row around the pool

Is this a beautiful property - YES! Do they have a decent (not amazing) spa - Yes. Do they have a lot of things to do on property - Yes. AND THAT is what you are paying for.THESE ROOMS need renovating so badly I dont even know how strongly I can word this.What is crazy is that we had an executive suite and this room was still so meh. When you have a bed that the sheets LITERALLY CRINKLE AND MAKE SOUNDS when you sit on them and cover yourself - you have HORRIBLE quality sheets. Sheets are NOT supposed to make a noise. Dont get me started on the bed comforter.....SO NOT CLEAN!! Also - you will HEAR your neighbors sneeze, cough and their TV - so dont plan on sleeping. I know this sounds nutty, but for the price you pay, cant they use more than 1-ply for TP?The food in the restaurants is so overpriced and VERY VERY average.SAVE MONEY and go to a different hotel that doesnt charge you for the property - and will give you a budget motel style room.

My experience was just awful, Saturday 8/5/23 My friend and I sat by the pool right after arriving for a quick picture, I sat my bag on a layout chair and turned my back not even for 3 min when my bag was stolen...later found out along with 4 other families, I was told that they have no cameras in that area in case there is nudity. ( also want to mention that they put wristbands on you to access the pool area but no one checks for wristbands, so what is the point?)The thieves went on a rampage charging items on my card through out the hotel, I was told by security that there are no cameras in gift shops as well?? So basically anyone can steal and get away with it?I will never stay at this hotel again and if you do be safe and do not take anything valuable with you to the pool or out of your room. This is supposed to be a high-end hotel and its very nicely kept its just too bad your security isnt a priority.I was not compensated one penny for any of my things with this hotel even though they gave me a claim number, and seemed not to concern about getting back to me when they gave me a day when I would be called about this matter but called until almost a week or so later.(I honestly have a feeling its a inside job but what else can I say?)I am a Marriott time shareholder and now I just want to get rid of my timeshare for being treated so badly with security during this investigation ( I was not offered a complimentary extra night for a better visit since I spent that whole night talking to the police.

There’s a lot of people who come here and the pool can get crowded, but because the resort is so big, to don’t feel congested and there’s plenty of places to just sit and grab a drink or some iced coffee from the Bucks. I was going to give 4 stars but they were heroes at the end. First the good stuff...They have a Hertz rent-a-car office onsite, so we were able to rent a car at the Palm Springs airport, drive around for 24 hours, and then return it at the hotel before a conference. (Rather than having to go back to the airport and take an Uber back to the hotel.) Very convenient!When we arrived, I asked for a quiet room. The room they gave us was part of a suite, so it had an interior door to the next room. I was nervous about possibly hearing our neighbors so they relocated us to a totally private room with a better view.It was mostly quiet, but people in our hallway were a little loud until maybe 11pm on Fri and Sat nights (despite the sign saying that the hallway was a Quiet Zone). Nevertheless, at least we didnt have the suite problem.When we left, I forgot to check the closet. In it were a pair of slacks, a button down shirt, and an irreplaceable jacket which had all of my keys in the pocket!I called from the airport and they found everything. They let me choose the shipping speed. I got it all back for a reasonable fee. Thats why Im giving a 5 star review.There was some room for improvement, however....One afternoon I was about to take a nap but heard music in the hallway, even though it had a sign saying Quiet zone. The music was coming from the phone of a cleaning lady. I asked her to turn it off and she did. But I was surprised that she didnt honor the Quiet Zone signs in the first place.Leading up to our final morning, I had forgotten to put a Do not disturb sign on the door. While we were still sleeping - maybe 7am? - a cleaning lady knocked on our door and then entered.But it was the day we were checking out. I wish she wouldve waited until the front desk alerted her that we had *actually* checked out - before knocking or entering.I made the mistake of renting a Chevy Bolt (EV). The hotels fee to charge it for 6 hours was reasonable (like $18 I think), but their fee was $40 to charge it overnight.We gave it to them around 9:30pm. I asked them to only charge it for 6 hours, but they said Id have to come get it in exactly 6 hours - at 3:30am. I didnt want to do that, but they were not willing or able to unplug the car for me after 6 hours. So I had to pay $40.Last, the three restaurants onsite are geared towards meat and fish. One said they could make a vegetarian meal, but not vegan. We were there for a plant-based nutrition conference, so this was a disappointment.

Worst experience, we would not recommend. The highlight was dinner at Fisherman’s Landing! Room was just average and not worth over $700. You couldn’t use the amenities and the noise was so loud you couldn’t sleep. It was nearly 2am before it started to get quiet. My husband is a disabled veteran and was awake all night. Beautiful resort, however if staffing is an issue, don’t book hotel at capacity.We had significant room service issues- staff didn’t clean room for entire first day, even after calling multiple times.Following day, they cleaned room and didn’t replenish toilet paper.Trash cans throughout pool were full through stay and staff would leave finished plates for hours at the pool.Thankfully, the elite desk provided an apology and afforded some refunds to us for the experience. I stay at marriotts weekly.Highly impressed with the grounds, golf course and the service we received at restaurants.The management needs to work on some of the significant service elements to make me feel confident returning here.

Worst experience Ive had in any hotel. The incident happened on 07/26/23 at approximately 6pm at the oasis pool. we were on a sun lounger when an employee of your hotel approached me and my husband and silently began to close the umbrella over me. As it turned out, due to the wind, it could fall off. But the sun was still quite active and we asked not to touch the umbrella for a while, so I was very afraid of burning out. to which the employee decided to call the “manager”, who rudely demanded to leave and free the umbrella ((. we didn’t want to leave (because we had the right to be at the pool until 10 pm) Then this rude decided to call the security guard. It was so humiliating and petty how you treat your guests who bring you money, its only your problem that you cant buy umbrellas strong enough to handle your mythical wind.

Marriott likes to position the jw brand as the premium corporate hotel stay as opposed to the old luxury positioning of St Regis and the contemporary luxury positioning of Ritz Carlton.I may be wrong but I view the 4 Seasons as a rough competitor to the JW.We heard some mixed reviews about the JW and so we guarded our expectations.When we first got our room they assigned is a room that was almost a 10 minute walk to the room requiring you to go briefly outside before getting access to the room.The room itself was standard enough but lighting was suboptimal. The room did feature a nice view of the golf course however there was a puddle on our deck that did not seem rain made. There was a dip in the deck where water was collecting leading me to believe this was an ongoing issue that was neglected.Luckily I was able to get a room reassignment in the central tower.The room was pretty much the same. Pretty standard. Nothing too crazy but in line with our expectations. I was expecting something a bit better than a standard Marriott but not quite the level of a 4 Seasons.The bathroom was good with a walk in shower (a must for luxury hotels). However, I didnt think it was designed well as the water easily spills outside the shower and can run into the main room of your not careful.The grounds themselves are very nice. I dont like golf but the golf course appears to be well maintained. The central lobby is open and spacious. There are 4 or 5 food options. The gym is nice. We saw some flamingos in one of the ponds. Theres a nice gondola boat ride you can book.The spa is competent. One issue is that since the hotel is so big, the spa feels almost like a factory. They stick to their fishing time strictly but if theyre late a few minutes they wont give it to you back.Finally the service is atrocious. And what I mean is that corporate decisions have led to this hotel woefully understaffed.I tried to call the front desk at all times several times and more often then not I couldnt even get a voice mail. I dont thinki was too demanding but for a property this big they really shouldnt be forcing their guests to come to the front desk for additional bottles of water.I generally did not have any problems with staff themselves. Housekeeping was very pleasant. The bar staff was pleasant but they appeared to running ragged.The only issue was or check out guy was little snooty.So final thoughts. It doesnt really deserve the JW name. Its a little over priced for what it is. Rooms are fine but a little dated. If the JW wants to attract corporate conventions they need to be able to have guests reach the front desk.JW palm springs finds itself in a little bit of an awkward position. Either they invest in significant room upgrades, increase staffing or possibly decrease the number of rooms to something more manageable. or finally they remove the JW name and position the property as a luxury lite hotelUnfortunately I wont be coming back. If Im looking for a luxury hotel Im happy to pay more for something truly luxurious and if Im looking for a value Im happy to go to try a courtyard by Marriott or some such.

The hotel service of this place was not that good. When we got there, our room was not ready despite us requesting it a while ago. Out of one of the three cleaning days, we were out and the hotel cleaners were in our room. They stole our beer and drank from it, peed in the toilet and didn’t flush, and took the covers and mattress sheets off our beds and didn’t come back until a manager came to do good help.Anyway, besides that one day, the beds and bathroom were luxurious, and the view from our room was beautiful. The resort had a relaxing pool, restaurants with delicious food, and shops with good souvenirs.

1/28/2024What a fantastic weekend at JW Marriott in Palm Desert. The Bonvouy check-in experience was a breeze, and the staff was so kind and professional. We received our keys and had a wonderful signature king suite overlooking the pools and the adjacent mountains. The hotels amenities were stellar, and the entertainment in the Aquifer 65 bar was fantastic, and the tequilla drinks and fresh sushi rolls are phenomenal. The room was so cozy, and the balcony was comfy to just relax at night and enjoy the desert evening sky. For lunch, the first day, we ate at the Fishermans Landing Bar and Grill, which also had excellent tequilla drinks and fresh fish dishes. Sunday morning, we had the buffet breakfast at the Starwood lounge, which was also an A plus dining experience.Highly recommended for a great getaway and magical experience.Previous visitSaturday night we went to the bar and listened to some wonderful music while sipping on cocktails. Dylan was our server and I called him Joaquin Phoenix as he had the look lol. We started with some great tequilla drinks..Ole...Then ordered the JW sushi roll to start. Umm umm good..and yes chopsticks are provided. We were honored by a visit from our favorite JW staff member, Carmen, a wonderful heart and such a warm person. We had no seen her in quite some time since moving out of the Desert to the OC. We have visited many times but ways seemed to miss her. Carmen is a 35 year employee with the resort who began working for the resort as soon as it was built. What a joy and blessing! We then ordered another Sushi Roll and some sliders..the quality is unsurpassed and the staff are all professional and kind. We had a wonderful evening and Dylan was a trooper as well. I finished with an Irish Coffed with Jamesons and whipped cream and yes creme de mint swirl in the whipped cream, simply amazing. We so enjoyed the two women singing as they added to the joy of the evening. In the morning we hit the Rockwood Grill for their breakfast buffet and I left a review specific to that on Yelp and Google as well. The rooms and grounds as well as the amenities at this resort are stellar and we highly recommend the JW Marriott in Palm Desert.

Here for Stagecoach weekend with friends and our moms. We booked the Villas because we were told there were rooms large enough for our group. We were told at check in if the pool wasn’t crowded they would let us in. When we arrived at the pool we were told we couldn’t enter. We tried to speak to the front desk to make an exception since we are all high level Marriott Bonvoy members. The pool was also not crowded at all. The manager Sean Nixon was extremely rude and unprofessional. As members of Marriott Bonvoy and for a JW Marriott I expect higher level of customer service. This is completely unacceptable that this was not communicated to us at booking and then no one was able to assist us. I am disappointed and will not be returning or recommending JW Marriott anymore. My wife and I came here for a relaxing getaway and were very pleased! What I really appreciated was despite the fact that the resort hosted two large conferences during our stay (one of was the EY conference, which I was told was one of the largest in the area), they did a great job of keeping the loud party scene of the conference attendees separate from the rest of the hotel guests, who looking for a more laid back vibe. The rooms were spacious and clean, the grounds were immaculate, and the staff was incredibly kind. Highly recommend!

This is a review of the golf experience. The property is gorgeous and great pool area as well. Unfortunately our golf experience was not up to par.Decent course, VALLEY, very scenic. Played late in the day. Tee boxes could be a bit better condition. Pro shop ok. Absolutely gorgeous views and challenging and fun terrain. But the cart staff attendee was rude. We had beginners in our group. We booked last tee time so not to hold anyone up. The gentlemen was younger and slightly heavy compared to others. He insisted we could only play to 7pm with a 5pm tee time. Certainly we were not going to get 18 in but I had spoken with the pro shop several times and when checking in, during phone calls etc no time limit was mentioned at all by anyone. He said we don’t get paid overtime u have to be back by 7pm. Don’t be on your way back at 7 be back at 7 no later.Ok we played 9 and came in exactly at 7. 2 hours. Good pace even with beginners. Another attendant was there when we came in asked how it was and we said great but unfortunate that we could not play past 7 . He was flabbergasted. He said they are there at least until 730 or even 8 and said we never should have been told 7pm and apologized for everything. He offered to let us go back out but at that point we had already adjusted our schedule with our non golfer family . I’m a titanium elite bonvoy but did not mention it at all. That one guy deserves a stern reprimand at a minimum. Not the 5 star experience one should expect at a resort facility of this level.

I really wanted to like this hotel… it was at 100% capacity for the weekend so this meant lines and queues everywhere. 20 mins to check in - even as elite, 30-45 min wait each day for breakfast, no chairs by the pool (people line up at 8am to reserve them), 60 min wait for food by the pool, no dinner reservations available etc etc etc (and forget about Starbucks this line was huge all day). For a big hotel they dont seem to understand how to deal with the crowds. It’s a very noisy hotel, you definitely don’t want a room facing into the lobby as live music is extremely loud.It’s an old hotel thats had a touch up. Rooms are not modern but bed was comfortable.We had a Pool view which was nice and had a balcony with chairs. Housekeeping was average. Dirty glasses left every morning. Waited 2hrs for an ice bucket and a rollaway bed on the first night.Grounds are beautiful. Valet team great.Food average except at Mikado which was good.Tried to raise concerns and complaints with different staff and they didn’t care / remedy anything. First and last time staying here, better to rent a house!

Disappointing compared to the price they demand. The rooms are nicely furnished, but there are signs that it has not worn well over the decades. We were visiting for the day as we are staying at the Marriott Bills next door. Spent most of the day at the pool, which has 5* service for poolside drinks and food. We wanted to take a boat ride that they offer and booked it using their website. When we arrived at our designated time, we were greeted by Isaiah. Found out that I had screwed up and booked the boat for the next day. At this point, most people would have just blown us off and said tough luck. But Isaiah was determined to help. Its as if his only job was to make sure we were taken care of. The boats were completely booked and he asked if we could wait around a bit and hope for a cancellation. He was able to get a couple of us on the boat! It really saved the day! Our grandson got to go on the boat with his Dad. Such a treat, and all because Isaiah was focused on taking care of us. Great location and stunning views but we experienced some below par service.While sitting at a table in the centre of the main bar (where 6 of us had been for quite a while), we were abruptly told to move by the bar manager. Apparently the table had been booked previously but they had forgotten to mark it and they moved us in a pretty aggressive fashion. We were there for a week and at no other stage was the table “booked”.I did report my dissatisfaction to the hotel and all that happened was the same bar manager rang me back and told me the same story and strangely didn’t think his conduct was an issue. What an amazing property!Rooms are luxurious, the views are impeccable, and the property has so many things to offer it is a great get away oasis in the dessert.Pickleball courts, grass tennis courts, amazing fitness center, huge pool area, golf and mini golf, great conference venue, Starbucks in the lobby (full location, not a kiosk). Very unique. Stunning views. Details like the flamingos in the pond and Palm Trees really add to the luxury resort feel.The room was huge, bed very comfortable, tons of working space, huge bathroom with soaking tub. There was a weird leak from shower into the bathroom (had to use extra towels to soak up everyday).The service at the main bar in lobby was lacking. Had to ask for a glass every time, and with a Guinness can (specifically engineered to pour into a glass, mimicking a draft), this should be automatic (most bartenders on the planet actually pour it for you) …annoying to have to ask repeatedly for a glass. And then the expectation of automatically tipping 20-25% with poor service is off putting and not to brand at a JW.Other than the bar, the staff and service was exactly what you expect from a JW property = ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen. So we shlepped the toddler, stroller, floaties, dog and bags from floor to floor. Fun! Not a good experience. When I arrived after I said I dont need valet parking, I was told to park away, do not leave the car in the reception area. No help to direct me where should I park. Finally found a place to park. When I checked in I was assigned to the end of the hallway building, next to the road, same level of the road, kind of next to the noise room, no privacy room. It was Ok, definitely did not feel luxurious.Our check in was easy, room was somewhat clean. We got the room with possibly the worst view and our balcony was covered with dust and debris. We couldn’t even put our wet clothes out there much less sit, we could literally hop over on to another roof. I didn’t bother to ask for a change, my kids were tired and we just wanted to go to the pool. Pool service was nice, we found seats quick although it was very full. The grounds are beautiful. But there are problems.1. It is a No Smoking resort, but the man in the room below continually smoked marijuana on his balcony, with the odor very noticeable in our bedroom and balcony. Complaints to the front desk led to no change in his behavior during the days we were there, and we did not receive a promised response from security. Poor responsiveness by staff.2. The room was of average quality, despite the very premium price. It was equivalent to standard hotel chains with rooms at about half the price.3. The hotel is not staffed or equipped to handle the number of guests they book. Very long lines, crowded facilities, and lots of noise were our experience.4. The check-in experience was poor. No parking in the front to check in, unless you pay for parking valet. Then they have their hands out for tips for valet, check-in assistance, and bellman all within the first 20 feet of the front door. After that the line to check-in was about 30-40 parties long. Took forever.In short, this place is not worth it. There are many other resorts and hotels in the area for less cost and a better experience.

I debated on whether to write a review or not because its something I dont normally do but here we are. Overall, this property lacks professionalism and attention to detail. Front desk agents, servers, and hosts - were all snippy, rude, strungout and had a pretentious attitude. We checked into a hot room where the front desk had already been aware of the issue. Bottom line, if engineering makes a note in their prearrival the AC is not working, that room needs to be taken out of inventory. We were moved to a room in the main building which was extremely loud until about 1 AM each night due to the open atrium with no warning of how noisey it would be. We had breakfast at Rockwood Grill where there was always a wait time (not a big deal) but once we were seated we had to wait another 15-20 minutes before our servers showed up and who openly admitted to not knowing a table had been seated in their section. I had asked about using a ball machine from the tennis club and while they clearly had one because I saw it and had to point it out to girl at the desk proceeded to tell me, oh, that thing. we dont offer ball machine rentals to guests, I dont think. I asked for her to check with the head tennis coach and to call me, after I provided all my contact information on their call back sheet; She never did. We had a room that overlooked a pool we were told we could not have access to because it was an event only space. Overall, really disappointed in our stay. I had high expectations for the quality of service with it being a JW Marriott and in Palm Springs and with it being a very well manicured property.

The female manager was super nice and gave us a room with a nice view as I explained to her this was a very special trip for us and my husband was a gold Merriott card member. Most restaurants and Starbucks in the resort were open to my surprise on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day which was wonderful. The only drawback were that I think they were short on staff for housekeeping and sometimes even picking up the phone on front desks so I had to try multiple times to get hold of people, that certainly was frustrating. Im currently still in the hotel and will check out tomorrow. I came here with my family to celebrate my birthday on 7/14. I have to comment on todays parking experience and the housekeeping experience for the past 2 days I stayed here. The resort is very nice equipped and designed however the housekeeping is disappointing and the parking is just ridiculous. I used the APP to request housekeeping to clean my room but no one cleaned my room until I made the third attempt by requesting the service via APP. They told me they had problem entering my room that day in the morning. Well, no one followed up with me or explained with me. How would I know they did try to clean my room but they could not enter? That day was my birthday! I just want to have a tidy room to enjoy my birthday! Lack of communications! I also requested 2 new bathrobes, never delivered. Just now I used the APP to mention that and they said I had to request for it, hey I did, I did 2 days ago! Just now when we came back to the resort and tried to do the handicap parking, I was told the nearby spots are full and I can try to get a spot at the further right ramp. Ok, I did try there, they are full as well. So I had to pay $40 for valet parking since I have a 72 years old senior in the car. I explained the whole experience via APP, the customer service representative made me feel she/he is heartless and just told me they are full capacity cause they have an event. Well, I believe full capacity should have nothing to do with prompt communications or attentive service for hospitality industry. Plus, if a full capacity day made customers who needs the handicap parking not available then obviously the handicap parking spots are not enough. I definitely dont want to have my senior father walking a long distance in this extreme heat so I did the valet parking. But I do expect when I communicated with your APP representative, they should show me basic understanding but not being cold and robotic.Overall, nice resort, disappointing customer service!

Stayed here for the Indian Wells tennis tournament. Hotel is great for tennis/golf enthusiasts. We got unlucky on our first room where we found mascara on the bedsheets and gum on the bathroom floor. Unfortunately, we couldnt get moved for the night as they said the hotel was fully booked and housekeeping was basically gone for the night.Amenities- 5 starsThe property is magnificent. The main building was grand and even had a boat in the lobby that serves as a taxi throughout the waterways of the property. The gym was quite large for a resort. There was an 18 hole putting course and also a well landscaped golf course on the property. In addition, there were 3 pools and a large arcade with a mini bowling alley. You really cannot be bored here. Excellent stay for families, groups, couples, anyoneBottom LineThe views and amenities are spectacular and warrant the 4-stars given to the JW Marriott. However, the rooms failed to meet expectations

Ive stayed at this hotel 3 times now and it never disappoints. Would like to personally shoutout Cathy Davis for being so helpful and responsive when I left some important things in the safe. They seriously have the best staff, best rooms, gorgeous environment, and it deserves the hype it gets. Recommend this hotel to literally anybody.

I believe the property was recently updated but the room didnt show it. AC was not working well at all. Thank you housekeeping for finding a fan for us. Otherwise just about unbearable heat in the room. We notified the staff but they couldnt fix it. Location and views are great. Be aware that its a resort, but it felt too crowded. The pool was stagnant and by the end of the day kind of gross. They really need to do better as a JW Marriott resort.

DIRTIEST HOTEL stay. From the moment we walked in, the bathroom floors were dirty, semen stained sheets, cockroch found in closet, makeup stained towels given by housekeeping, pool was not cleaned from night before with lots of hair and band-aid floating around. This is a 4-star resort?!? Management were not sympathetic to all the problems we experienced and did not do much to resolve and/or compensate for the terrible stay we experienced. NEVER going back to this hotel.

You should know what this resort is before selecting it. Its not really a luxury resort for adults. This is a place to bring your kids. The buildings are nice, but feel dated. Some problems we encountered; broken toilet (fixed). AC that struggled to keep the room cold at night (addressed, but not really fixed). Huge crowds at the pool on Sat (hotel posted security to ensure only guests entered, but it was still very, very crowded), high winds and dust on the last day made everything dirty (this is a function of where the hotel is situated as other parts of the valley arent effected). Im titanium and there are few perks here for the Marriott loyal. Dont expect free wifi. Youll get a continental breakfast though, which is nice. Dont bother wasting suite night upgrades as the best they will do is put you in a standard room facing the pool (might as well pay for that).Having said all of that, this is still a nice hotel. The grounds are beautiful and spacious. The service is very good. The views are 100%! We had one meal at a restaurant on the property and the food was good. As others have said, Marriott tries to market this property as luxury and its definitely not. They want to you to think this is the pinnacle of the Marriott experience and its not. Ive stayed at category 4 Marriott properties that exceed this experience. It is what it is ... just know what youre paying for.

Second time here. Breakfast is now a buffet, but not very good. Meals were nice, but expensive. $52 for a New York and a potato is excessive. Entertainment was good. Wife really enjoyed all the opera songs at the end.The big disappointment this trip, though, was the pool. Water was cloudy and full of some sort of tiny black bugs. Literally thousands of them! It was like that for two days.The gals working the kitchen floor were excellent and friendly, unlike one gal working the front desk. Maybe she was having an off day.All-in-all, we liked our stay and will probably be back. Giving them 4 stars despite mentioned flaws. It really is a nice place.

Here for a few days for work. So far the food for our conference has been outstanding! We had a Mexican themed lunch that included nopales salad and really lovely shrimp and even ice cream for a snack later in the day. Was able to spend some time at the pool which was lovely however not all the pools or services were open today. Wondering if thats because its midweek? I plan to stay for the weekend so looking forward to those amenities being available over the weekend since Ill be paying out of pocket for those which includes a pricey resort fee. Crossing my fingers!So todays update is the second pool Ive been going to after my work meetings to rest relax and read was closed this afternoon. The main pool was jam-packed with people and toys and seats around the perimeter were dirty with trash. I confirmed with the front desk that for the weekend the other pools should be open so again crossing my fingers! Trying to remain hopeful. 😏

Every wish comes true I loved JW at star pass !! Location 5 * and everything is so pretty and cosy and functional - absolutely epic we stayed at villas II had a villa for us only and was better than living at home - I literally fell in love 🥰 absolutely stunning location epic staff makes every dream wish or question come true and is super helpful - unique experience for sure !! Amazing stay, probably my favourite resort that Ive visited. My room was beautiful, and cleaned every morning. The staff were all extremely kind at the pool, at the restaurants and housekeeping. I felt safe during my time there, and never felt that the resort was busy. It was very relaxing, and cant wait to go back!
