I used to work at JVM and when my sister was ready to buy a house I immediately referred her to the team. Hannah, Grant, Jenna, and Larisa took such good care of my sister and brother in law and they were so transparent and thorough during the closing process. When I worked at JVM, I knew how much they prioritized customer service, but seeing it from the other side with my sister was truly eye opening. The communication is so fast and direct, without the pressure and “sliminess” that you might feel with another company. The team is friendly, extremely smart, and they really want what’s best for you and will work super hard to help you achieve your goals while buying a home. In my experience, JVM Lending dba CreditPlus/Vellum Mortgage is a fraud and waste of time. Hannah was awesome and incredibly helpful. However, her colleague completely wasted our time and added a credit inquiry to our report for no reason, despite knowing all our financial and employment information.Huge waste of our time knowing they had no interest in lending to us. I’d stay away from this company and use a more reputable lender.

This is the 5th time Ive been through this process in the last few years and it was by far the smoothest with JVM. We shopped around for rates after getting a very strong pre-approval from JVM that would help strengthen our offer, JVM was always willing to go the extra mile to try and match either the rates or the lower closing cost fees other lenders were willing to provide. I worked with JVM a year ago in getting a approval for a home purchase. I was very happy with the turn around time on that. The team did a great job of keeping me informed and always responded quickly to my emails with clear, straightforward info. Now, after a year of searching, Ive just closed on my home. My realtor recommended JVM when I purchased my home last year. Their responsiveness was absolutely phenomenal. All the questions we had were answered within a few hours(mostly right away) no matter how long they were and when we asked. I was very satisfied with them and I decided to refinance with them again. They were still fast, kind, and responsive. I couldve gone with another company who offered slightly better rate but their frustration free process was worth going with them. The entire process from getting pre-approved to closing was done through drop-box and email which made everything so easy. I really dont know where to begin here..everything and everyone at JVM was amazing!Nik was so methodical and patient explaining the different loan options and helped us weigh the pros and cons of each to choose the best for us. While we could have gone conventional, he was able to help us save some upfront cash for improvements and got an FHA with a great rate and lender credit to help with closing costs.Once we got pre-approved, we were told that we were whats called a fully pre-underwritten pre-approval, to help make our offers stronger, which listing agents like to see because it helps avoid surprises during escrow. We shopped for a few weeks and toured some homes with our agent until we found the perfect one in El Sobrante, right on San Pablo Dam Road, with views of the hills and the creek running through our backyard.This was the peak of the multiple offers on every home end of 2021.While a lot of homes were being sold without any contingencies, and even with all of JVMs amazing 5-star reviews, we were still nervous to risk that EMD money with no appraisal contingency as first time homebuyers. Nik advised that he would call the sellers agent and explain how thoroughly they already vetted us and knew they could perform, and they would even order the appraisal as a rush so we could get it back before the appraisal contingency deadline.If you cant tell by now, everything went smooth as a babys butt! We were able to beat all other offers, including an all cash offer, with an FHA loan even with the appraisal contingency! JVM was able to close in literally 14 calendar days (and it would have been 13 if the seller didnt need one more day to clean out the garage!)My wife and I were happily renting in Oakland until we were told we couldnt install a washer and dryer where there were already hookups (we were spending almost $200/mo on laundry with old senile pets) so we have to thank them for motivating us to buy our own home. We were werent 100% sure about whether we wanted to Refi our house because we remembered how tedious the process was (with gathering updated paper work mostly). While I cant say the whole process was an easy one (due to other varying factors that had nothing to do with JVM, of course!), the JVM team made it seamless once I got the ball rolling and found a place to bid on.During the home buying process, I had the chance to go through another lender and receive a really decent rate break. But this other lender could not provide me with the adequate contingency time frames that are needed to be competitive and aggressive in this crazy East Bay real estate market. After all, what good is a good rate going to do for you if you cant offer adequate contingency times to even get your offers accepted. They were available on the weekend to start the process immediately when my family fell in love with a home and wanted to put in an offer. The online portal was easy to use and guides you though documentation seamlessly. We do not plan on needing another mortgage anytime soon, but if we need any lending assistance we will be using JVM!

Really the best experience with a mortgage broker Ive had and the first time I was successful with getting a home. Staff were available all of the time, willing to answer questions, clear about their needs, and, as promised, 14-day closing. I cannot recommend JVM enough. Everyone at JVM lending is awesome. I found them through yelp reviews as I thought we had a difficult mortgage situation and they quickly ran the numbers and gave us a pre-approval. They were very easy to work with right from the start. It look a long time to finally find a home, but when we did find our dream home, they closed the deal quickly in exactly 21 days just as they said, despite the holiday season falling in the middle.
