As a new patient at the Johnson Family Dental Goleta Office, I am totally impressed with the customer service and warmth of Selene who serves as the front desk receptionist, to the positive nature of Brenda serving as the treatment coordinator and the professionalism of Dr Jaimie. It has been a delight to come to the dentist in this environment! It is obvious that they are intentional about hiring excellent people who are bright and have a heart to serve. I am so happy I made a switch to this Dental office and team. I highly recommend Johnson Family Dental Goleta Office!

I visited for construction of a tooth denture. The entire staff was really kind, patient, and helpful. In particular, Dr. Jaime and assistant Brenda were extremely nice. They went over dental plans with me to ensure I was saving as much as I can, and my tooth denture was ready in about 2 weeks. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely horrible dentist office. Their dentists are ok, but it is absolutely mismanaged. Had so many issues scheduling appointments. On top of that, they have dentists “helping out” which are out of network and then charge you for it. They even confirmed that my insurance would cover it, but I ended up with the bill of 50% of the costs. They didn’t inform me about any of this at the time of the visit. Absolutely unacceptable! Just a big company, not the local dentist practice they wanna seem like.

Best dental service I have received. I received a message reminding about the appointment and when in office, I didn’t had to wait to receive treatment. Both Dr. Jamie and the assistant Ms. Brenda were extremely considerate during the procedure, aware of how uncomfortable dental work can be for the patients. I would highly recommend this location and their services.

Ive been going to Johnsons Family Dental for awhile now. The service is pretty good except for last couple of times Ive gone. Ive had my dentist changed on me 2 times without being notified and last time they had me waiting over 30 minutes even though I had an appointment scheduled. Today was the final straw when they changed my appointment I had scheduled for months to an earlier time. They didnt bother to call me they just changed the time and sent me a text to confirm my appointment. Ive worked in customer service so it would have been nice for them to call me first and let me know they are changing my appointment time not just change it and expect me to make last minutes accommodations at my job. Communication goes a long way.

I had very pleasant experience with Dr. Jamie and Nicole in hygiene. There are no words to describe how wonderful my experience was at Johnson Family Dental. I was greeted by the warm and welcoming front desk staff Devan and Krystal, both exceptional. Yahaira, the assistant, was very calm and pleasant when taking me back to the room. The office treated me like family and and showed a deep desire to provide the best possible care. Highly recommend this office for your dental needs!

My second unpleasant visit to Johnson family dental. The first time I came for an appointment they did not explain how much the appointment was going to cost or that was going to take two appointments until after I received the first appointment on my second visit, I was told to swallow my fluoride treatment. This gave me terrible heartburn acid reflux burps that smelled like nail polish remover and a screaming headache upon researching whether to swallow or spit fluoride treatment. Every website I came across clearly stated that this should be spit out... I wasnt given this option and when I called to discuss my discomfort I was given the cold shoulder and hung up on... Terrible bedside manner...

They definitely do a good job with cleanings and other appointments since I’ve been going here but getting an appointment is another story. A lot of my appointments have been canceled due to the hygienist being out or on vacation and my appointment is rescheduled months later. This has happened multiple times resulting in me not getting regular cleanings and my teeth suffering the consequences. The consequences being needing more thorough and expensive cleanings and my gingivitis worsening without being able to have a check up. At my last appointment I scheduled an appointment for 6 months out in January. I put the date and my calendar and as the date approached I didn’t receive appointment reminders so I called to confirm my appointment. The informed me I didn’t have any appointment scheduled although I made the appointment in person and offered to put me on the cancellation list which in my years of going to this dentist office I have never received a call about getting an appointment off that list. I asked how far out they were book and they said August, 8 months out!! I will be looking for a new dentist because my dental health is not going to suffer at the expense of them constantly accepting new patients when they cannot take care of the patients they do have.

I used to love Johnson Family Dental. I have been going there for teeth cleanings since I moved to town 3 years ago. Recently in May 2022 they just cancelled my appointment that I had for 6 months, saying they had 1 hygenist that quit, and their next available appointment would be in November.How is that possible? They cant give priority to their repeat clients who had a standing appointment from 6 months ago and they make them wait another 6 months? I work in the hotel business, if a hotel cancels on you, they find you other lodging and pay for it. This dentist office didnt even help me reschedule or give my any sort of priority/alternative options/compensation. They just put me on a wait list, and would call me if anyone cancels last minute. If your business has a staffing issue, make it work: Extend your office hours, open 7 days a week, give your staff overtime pay, cross train the team, hire some temporary help from another office, or have the main Dentist themselves clean teeth for their clients. At least until they catch up with existing appointments.It seems they didnt even try. They just shrugged. Very poor customer service.

My son is traumatized by bad experiences at the dentist. He was very happy that the x-rays didnt hurt. I was happy that we came in for routine cleaning and they were able to fit in fillings that day and made another appointment for fillings on the other side. Ive had the same insurance for a long time but somehow this is the first time insurance covered everything. Supper convenient that orthodontist on site. We took advantage of consultation that day since X-rays were taken for cleaning. Great price!

Where do I start? I came to Johnson Dental family at this location as it is near my home a few year back when I still had dental insurance to used. And Last Year, I need a cleaning teeth, and also filling my front tooth that chip off, but I did not have a dental insurance, so I was going to book an appointment away and wanted to pay out of pocket cost as I couldnt walk around with a hole in my smile.). The office told me I can not do a cleaning or got a filling rightway without making first appointment for just an exam check up(X-ray) first and then go from there. On my first appointment for check up and X-ray,, They talked me into some kind of smile dentist plan for $79 they provide for patient who dont have insurance f. The $79 plan is included 2 free cleaning teeth per year and discount on other services. Well I thought ok it is reasonable, so I bought it. That day I paid for $79 for the plan and got free exam( which normally the office sent out Fly to my house offer it free anyway without the smile dental plan I just bought). I told the front desk I need schedule a cleaning appointment beside the filling teeth appointment, they said the cleaning teeth appointment were all booked up until next year 2022 . I only can book appointment for come back fill my teeth which I did and paid for. Since my smile dental plan will be expired on September 2022, and they said they all booked until 2022, so Today I called back to make appointment to cleaning teeth and filling teeth. They gave me the same Song like last year they did in September==}cleaning teeth appointment are all booked up until November_2022🤔. And saying They can schedule me to see dentist for Exam first, but not Cleaning appointment as they all booked out for cleaning teeth until November. All they can schedule appointment for me is see dentist for Exam, as the dentist last year who gave me partial treatment is no longer with them. The front desk woman hang up on me while we was in the middle conversation of scheduling appointment. I called back and told them about the smile plan and its expired day and I never got even one cleaning teeth as they told me since I bought the plan. all they said that there is nothing they can do. Both woman at front desk are rude. One of them even lie to me about their name after I ask about speaking to manager. I asked to speak to manager, they said manager is on maternity leave, there is no one manager there.( APRIL 26_ at 9:00_9:30am). I asked to speak with whoever in charge and their contact information. They didnt provide me. They told me to call smile dental plan. Well if they told me the plan was third party from the start, I wouldnt want to buy it. If you intended not to provide the truth service as you SANG to your customers ear from the start, then dont try to sell your service plan.

Ive been a customer of Johnson Family Dental for nearly 20 years, starting with their location off of Via Lucero. Last year I transferred from the State St location to the Goleta location cause its closer to my home and I had become disappointed with the poor customer service and appointment snapfus at the State St. location. Late last year, I had my first appointment at the Goleta location and it was fantastic.In June of this year I was told that my hygienist had left and that they were down to a single hygienist and that my appointment had been rescheduled for December 22.I am now actively looking for another dentist.I understand that the Goleta location and State St. locations are run independently. Still, Im actively recommending to all my friends and acquaintances to avoid Johnson Family Dental. I will never go back. Im ashamed for not having left years ago.Somehow Johnson Family Dental has made something as monotonous and predictable as going to the dentist into a complete hassle and a total time sink.

Pros: The staff is friendly and professional. The wait time in office is low. They are good at their jobs.Cons: Their schedule is RIDICULOUS. Im doing my Invisalign through them and get my dental work done with them. I have been on the same trays of my Invisalign for 4 months! They have my new trays, they just dont have time to adjust my attachments and give me my trays so Im stuck wearing weekly trays for over 4 months. The orthos are only there occasionally so availability is less than minimal and they cant do the work in a different one of their offices because their systems are different. The dentists and cleanings are the same. I needed to reschedule my cleaning that was the middle of March and the next availability they have is August. At that point it will have been a year. They will call you if anyone cancels but that doesnt happen because everyone knows theres no openings. Dont start your care here if you have any kind of life or schedule that is not 100% chill and flexible.

Then several appointments were cancelled (for both my husband and I, including today) last minute with no option to reschedule for less than 6 months. My front tooth was chipped so I had Johnsons Family Dental take care of it. The work seemed fine until it fell off a month later and when I told them about it they never followed up with me. My fiance also had a temporary molar replaced that kept falling out. He made numerous trips to this office until they finally sent him home with little packages of cement so he can cement it back on himself at home. I received a check in the mail this past weekend and it turns out that when I called them back in November 2018 to see if they took my insurance they said yes. Well now I have received a check in the mail because it turns out at the time they were not in my network so now I have to make a special visit to this office to pay Johnsons the amount that was sent to me from Delta Dental... after depositing the check into my account and waiting for it to clear. What a mess. Not going back there, ever. Nor do I recommend it to anyone.

While everyone was very polite, it took a long time. The paperwork I filled out online was lost, I had to fill out again. While the assistant met with me quickly after that, it was then another 20 mins to see the dentist. Total time for X-ray and checkup was >90 mins. She took the time to examine my teeth and gums before the cleaning, reviewed previous X-ray, and booked a follow up appointment with the orthodontist. These guys seem shady. I went in for the first time and they told me I had 6 cavities. I havnt had a cavity since I was a kid. Went to another dentist for a second opinion based on a friends recommendation and was told I have maybe 1 and even that could be watched for now.The 5 star reviews on here must be fake. One of them has reviewed Johnson in 3 different cities, thats awfully shady. Wouldnt trust these guys with my teeth nor my wallet.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First, they became quite dismissive and rude when I did not want to take their offers to pay for services I did not want. Then when I just wanted to get what I wanted as thats what my insurance would cover, they didnt give me further attention.
