My husband and I were first time home buyers, and although we had done much research, we really had no idea what to expect. Most of the feedback we received from of our close friends and family that had already gone through the homeownership process was that it was going to be stressful and arduous...but let me tell you....working with Joel and his team was far from that. Joel made our loan approval process soo easy and smooth. Joel and his team stayed on top of everything and walked us through the entire process step by step. He made everything easy to understand and even then, he consistently checked in with us in case we had any questions. I found Joel when I was doing real estate sales a few years ago. He was full of knowledge and we actually worked on a couple of transactions (one of them was in Arizona for a good friend in the military). Joel is the loan officer that will return your call and texts anytime and will be honest even when it is not pretty. I reached out to Joel a few months back to inquire about getting equity out of our home for some home improvements. He looked at our case and told me it would not be advantageous for us to do it then but that we could refinance (even though we had just gone through our lender to refinance less than a year ago). It took longer than expected (due to COVID), but through the process Joel kept us informed and had the best attitude. He never gave up even through a few hurdles. We ended up saving over 1% on our loan and I can honestly say I could not have done it without his patience and guidance.

Dear Prospective Borrower: Honestly, I went to meet with the lender my realtor recommended just as a formality and didn’t think I would end up using them for my loan. The lender I met with was Joel Hernandez. Initially, Joel met with me over the phone for about 10 minutes and we set up a meeting. Joel met with me in person for over two hours discussing the entire loan process from start to finish, going over each loan option available to me as a buyer, taking the time to explain the different interest rates available to me, what corresponding incentives I could receive from his company to help offset my closing costs, and he knew and recommended exactly what I could afford based on my income, debts, and future financial goals. Joel ran about 10 different scenarios for me on differing loan types and amounts, comparing each one to a different interest percentage I could choose, showing me each time what I would need to come to the table with at closing and what my monthly payments would be – he even knew to include my HOA fee estimates in case I bought a condo (something the online lender had failed to do, which could have been disastrous to me in the end for budgeting). I should note that when I received my estimated HUD statement prior to signing the loan docs Joel was 100% on the money with my costs and monthly payments and there were no financial surprises when I finished signing my loan docs. I knew exactly what I was going to need to bring to the table and that’s exactly what it ended up being, again, no surprises. Joel…JOEL IS AMAZING!! I had no idea there was going to be such a difference in my experience between dealing with Joel Hernandez in person and the online lender to whom I was about the entrust one of my most important financial decisions of my life. Joel – he is a lender that is so knowledgeable about not only the loan process, but who also knows how that process dovetailed into the actual buying process (not from the money side alone, but from the actual purchase process itself). I was amazed (which is no easy task). Suffice to say that I didn’t end up going with my online lender as I had originally settled in my heart to do, but rather decided to proceed with Joel and his team. I was not disappointed with my decision. Joel not only worked with me but he also interfaced daily and behind the scenes with my realtor. This is SO important. With Joel and my realtor working together day-by-day, the process could not have gone smoother. I really attribute this working dynamic between the three of us to helping the loan process go so smoothly and quickly. My loan was funded, recorded, and closed from start to finish (from the date we made the offer on my house) 30 days to date (not to mention we actually could have closed five days earlier, but I wanted those extra days for my own financial planning goals). I moved in on day 31. No muss...no fuss. I could not be happier with the end result of dealing with Joel Hernandez and his team of loan specialists. I felt like I was the MOST important client to Joel and his team. You want to know you’re with the best and in the best hands at all times.
