2024-04-09 11:09:33The service was great. They were very nice and friendly. The entrance is in the back by the parking lot.Not sure the vibe they are going for. There’s a ton of writing all over the walls which is cool but it also brings down the enjoyment factor. Some of the chairs are falling apart and flaking off on the seat. The pizza was good but it didn’t seem like the ingredients were fresh and the pizza was a bit too soft for my taste. It could have been cooked longer. The chicken sandwich was great. It was big and satisfying. The bread was crispy on the outside but still really soft.

2024-06-11 23:48:52Omg! Best frikken pizza ever!!You can order the 5969 calorie/ thick crust style or Blue Collar/ New York style crust.I recommend the house special, its so tasty!.I ordered mine without anchovy. It comes with pepper, meatballs, sausage, Canadian bacon, green peppers, onion, olives, mushrooms, pepperocini, and anchovies. Its worth every penny, you pay for it.I also ordered the mostaccioli with meat sauce, but I had the amazing pizza for dinner, and then breakfast this morning. So couldnt tell you how the pasta tastes😂🤣They also sell garlic bread, salads, sandwiches, wings, side of meatball or sausage, pizza dough and sauce. Its a fun atmosphere, you can write on the walls🙀.There is plenty of parking, the staff were friendly.

2023-06-25 22:41:41This was one the most unique pizzerias Ive ever visited! My coworkers and I shared an 18 pepperoni and sausage pizza (sausage wasnt that great), and it was delicious! I also enjoyed a chicken Caesar salad that tasted like they made their own dressing in the back! It was also pretty large... I couldnt even finish it! Ill most definitely be returning!

2023-02-18 02:44:37The pizzas here are great! Came in for a few slices and the prices are really reasonable. Two toppings for only 450. My husbands been going here since he was a kid so it’s got a lot of nostalgia for him. You can write on the walls which is really fun, they have markers at the front.

2023-11-12 02:57:31Small local NY style pizza joint. I like their blue collar style (thin crust) pizza best! They def do not skim on toppings when you order the original crust. They also sell pizza by the slice! One of my favorite pizza spots in town. Plenty of parking!

2024-06-07 02:38:22Joe’s claims to be authentic East Village pizza, with pictures and newspaper articles, adoring the wall proclaiming so. I lived in the East Village, and have pretty much eaten at every pizza store in the East Village. I had high hopes going in, seeing as you have to enter from the back and the interior was a bit dilapidated, giving the impression that people come here for the food and vibe, not the decor. After getting my slice ($5 for a plain btw), it was clear that this is no New York slice. It was thick and doughy, with barely any browning on the on the crust or bottom, and certainly no browning on the thick sheet of cheese. It seemed like a slice that had been out all day and insufficiently reheated.I’m not sure what style pizza this is, but it’s certainly not New York, and any New Yorker are coming here would agree. Maybe it was good 30 years ago, but if it was, it’s long gone. Anyway you slice it, it’s not great pizza.

2022-05-01 07:00:182022.04-26/TUE_1640: THE ONLY pizza I can eat. Im highly allergic to tomatoes and Im gluten intolerant but how is it that I can have Joe Peeps pizza???!!!I love the staff here and the music is always the greatest, too! Theyre always smiling and the ambiance is always the same when we visit! Today was great because I was able to order a pizza for take away and pick it up. So it was awesome to see the wonderful staff that makes the incredible food and who Ive spoken to on the phone as well. We have to order delivery must of the time because if we leave the house, we wont have parking! It was a treat to meet and see everyone in action!Anyway, the food quality is insane here. I cant say that enough. I have no allergic reactions to their pizza sauce and dough! This means the ingredients are of excellent quality. The amount of toppings on the pizza is always the perfect amount and the ingredients are always fresh! I usually buy a container of the pizza sauce so I can use it to cook something at home. Thats how much I love their sauce. Im not allergic. What is it?! Homegrown tomatoes? The Steak Sandwich....oh, dear heavenly Father... wow. I can honestly say that this is the ONLY place that has the closest thing on the menu that tastes just like a Philly Cheesesteak. Oh, what in the world is this??!! We had gotten a large Steak sandwich and added cheese. I couldnt even take a bite, the sandwich was so huge. Not only was this a behemoth of a sandwich, the steak...the steak was not Steak Ums meat. It was thinly sliced, tender steak. What the heck. The cheese was stringy and melted perfectly throughout the sandwich and there were onions and green peppers just buried in there. The bread...SO soft and it was not thick and dense at all. The bread soaked up the drippings of the steak. How?! It WILL melt in your mouth! You definitely will NOT be disappointed. If you want to dine in and have a slice, you can! They sell them by the slice! You dont have to buy a whole pie!The entrance is located behind the store in the parking lot. How great. They have their own parking! You have to see the interior because youll see celebrities that have visited as well as the shipping tickets for pizza that have been sent overnight to other states! I swear in 2011, I saw a shipping ticket for one that went to my hometown in Virginia Beach, Virginia!!! Now there are more! Theres Wisconsin, Illinois, and Ohio, too. I would do the same if I had to move away for a special treat!!Joe Peeps is definitely a place worth visiting if you happen to be in town!#joepeeps #northhollywood #noho #pizza #subs #sandwiches #mortimerandfriends #yuutobearJanuary/2022: I have been here countless of times and I cannot believe Ive never done any reviews. Most of my reviews were done on Yelp! First things first - sadly, Im highly allergic to tomatoes and for some reason, I am able to eat Joe Peeps pizza sauce and I can also have their baked Ziti, too. Anything with their sauce, Im able to eat without any kind of allergic reaction. This tells me that theyre using quality ingredients and/or their tomato sauces are cooked for hours and it removes the protein in the tomatoes that Im allergic to - who knows.Anyway, each time weve ordered from Joe Peeps, the food quality had always been outstanding and plentiful. We love the two types of crusts available for there pizza. You have the Blue Collar which is more of a thinner New York style crust and the 5,969 Calorie style pizza is a thicker crust. Weve tried both and both are FANTASTIC. You cant go wrong with whatever size pizza you get because where its either style, one slice is as big as your face! Their Baked Ziti is delicious as well as their sandwiches, too. Their portions are incredible. The best part of Joe Peeps is that you can purchase their dough and their sauces so you can make your own dishes at home! I do this since I have a nasty tomato allergy.

2023-07-16 21:49:05I dont know if it was an off day but we got pizzas to go on a Saturday night. The location is cool but this may have been one of the most subpar pizzas Ive ever had.I got a pepperoni and sausage. It was super greasy with no flavor. The crust was tough and unappealing, also with no flavor. You couldnt taste anything other than grease and it was hard to chew. I might give it another shot in he future but I couldnt eat more than one slice.

2024-05-08 08:10:35As this is the THIRD TIME in a month and a half - with multiple botches and screw ups -TIME TO POST THIS REVIEW. DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY.While sweet, well-meaning - the management is NOT honorable. He will tell you About 30 minutes or About an hour... and really they have ONE DRIVER so you MIGHT be stuck like I was 3 weeks ago calling in AN HOUR AND A HALF later asking where the heck is your dinner. The answer? Oh, yeah, sorry... but the driver is JUST LEAVING.Im sorry- - WHAT? He hadnt even left yet. Then, we have tonight. I live about 8 blocks from this location and during nights I have to work late, have (prior to covid) enjoyed order a few sodas and desert.I ordered at 9:06 PM. One slice of cake, 4 diet cokes. NO COOKING. This requires about 2 minutes to put together, if that.By 9:52 PM - NO DELIVERY. Again - it was sodas and one slice of cake. I live 8 minutes away.Get the manager - he puts me on hold and then comes back:Yeah, sorry bout that, but he just got back... but hes gonna leave now... ????!!!MANAGEMENT / OWNERSHIP: if you CANT DELIVER 4 cans of soda 8 blocks away - DONT LIE. Say straight up: Sorry, itll be over an hour. And DEFINITELY dont give attitude when the Customer who has been loyal thru multiple other delivery screw ups finally expresses exasperation that YOU as a business are not honorable / loyal.Thank you. Try Dominos or better yet - Mulberry Street - better food, same prices, and while they do charge a bit more for soda =) - WORTH IT to get something on time and being treated with respect.Thank you.NOTE: After I posted my review - within SECONDS the manager was calling my phone. Two calls in 1 minute. Fascinating how they couldnt be bothered to remember my order for 45 minutes, yet after a truthful review, managed to find my phone number. The number of mistakes over the past year led to an ongoing slew of replacing beverages (they kept delivering the wrong sodas), or delivering the food completely mashed (I was fond of their cake slices, which are grossly overpriced - $4.50 plus $3.00 delivery fee plus tax PLUS TIP for a small slice of cake. Not a bargain.) - yet the drivers would hand over the small box of cake completely mashed under cans of soda or squashed to one side. Sorry but for $6.00 all in - not okay. So we went thru about 8 rounds re-deliveries, small credits for missing soda, destroyed cake. Somehow after all this, we then wound up with 3 rounds of absurdly late / un deliveries. All this does NOT entitle a business struggling to find staff to promise delivery times, not keep their word, and then be rude or defend bad behavior. It should in an ideal world be the opposite: they should strive to be honest with loyal customers to show all the dozens of Im sorrys were actually sincere, and not more untruthfulness. And the prices in this already-recession-riddled economy! $24.00 for a tiny 12 cheese pizza thats really $35 by the time youve paid delivery fee, tax, and tip...Not. Worth. It.
