2024-04-23 05:27:06This medical center needs to be investigated for patient negligence. The lack of communication in providing continuation of care is concerning. Fellow veterans call the VA Hotline to address issues and send an email to your representative and demand change.

2024-03-30 07:16:32Margot, the charge nurse in the psych ward part of the ER was so unprofessional and sassy to me when I asked for an update on my partner. The attitude is insane. Do not need this while we’re going through a difficult time.

2024-01-19 17:29:56The Philippino looking gentleman working the front desk at the Veteran resource office was completely rude. I had to wait for him to finish a personal phone call about obtaining a new job. Just to be spoken to extremely rude and mean when he finished his conversation. When I asked for veterans resources and information he wasnt sure of the information he was providing me. He then continued to speak to me rudely and directed me elsewhere. I came back to ask how I can talk to a VSO and he then continued to speak to me with an attitude and told me to figure it out. Veterans should not be treated this way.

2023-12-27 21:29:36The absolute inappropriate conversations that the intake staff were having after my husband went in was appalling. Not only that but the conversations they were having about patients around.Talking about things that HR probably would be sweating if they heard? I didn’t need to know their preference of under wear. The way they were speaking to patients, the way that multiple casual conversations were going on over the only intake person. Not only that, but the absolute rude behavior of the staff when they did…the side eyes and the attitude of her telling me I couldn’t go back with my husband that they were just taking vitals then fully taking him without notice?? Not notifying me? What the heck kind of place is this?

2024-01-15 18:42:25Say what you will...this VA has helped me and saved me. They have the best doctors from UCSD. They are not perfect...no one is. Im a retired veteran and I pay next to nothing for my health care.

2024-02-23 02:12:07I’m glad I wasn’t dying because I would have definitely died in the waiting area of the ER waiting to get seen. After a few hours I left and went to a different hospital for help.

2023-12-06 04:21:09Sitting in the pharmacy waiting area I was attacked and the Police did nothing. I was bleeding down my leg and was seen on the ED and they did nothing. The VA once again lives up to their brand. Veterans do not think this is a real benifit, you risk your health and safety at the facility.

2024-06-18 08:28:13Charlatans. In negative cahoots with government/military medicine to maintain/support Veterans receiving lower/lowest disability ratings. I requested my VA medical records; I was provided health records of a 93 year old white guy!! And I am a Black person, age under 50, etc., at the time. RIDICULOUS! In my experience, there are more than enough VA documented occasions of medical negligence and just pathetic care. And this is from 2011 ALL THE WAY TO ON OR ABOUT TODAY, 1 October 2019; now, all the way up to 18 . No wonder several Veterans become maimed, die or commit suicide at the hands of the VA or while in their care. This is still a sign of our present times where often as a Veteran needing healthcare one must definitely check one’s sense of dignity at the door; what a pity. BEWARE! In many cases, it is not best nor wise to receive VA care, especially their delivery of medical care while being alone; have an advocate/witness present when/while experiencing VA interactions / transactions, especially VA health care. Each Veteran’s experience is different and the VA has done and does some good things but in my case, La Jolla, CA VA firmly continues to be a well cultivated House of Horrors. In the words of one of their social workers, “It’s free healthcare.”

2023-05-15 11:39:13I can only share my husbands experience with the VA. I know there are mixed reviews many bad. I am not sure if weve just been lucky or just havent needed serious healthcare needs. So far his appointments have gone smoothly. He can walk in for labs anytime. Only thing was they didnt notify him of the primary care services moving to a new location off Aero. Took him most of the day to fight traffic to get there and the layout is confusing at all locations. The communication on where to go or which department to see could be better. But hes been seen quickly for all his needs. Took them months to send us his CPAP machine. He didnt end up needing it after all but it took like 2 months to arrive.
