Wow my Fiance and I both agreed this was the best burger we’ve had in SD! We got the grilled onions added on our cheeseburger and half curly fries/half normal fries with the special sauce on the side for dipping and it was amazing. The patty was so juicy and each bite had that flavorful crispy texture that slaps on a burger. Staff was so friendly and even the restaurant exterior is so cute next to the beach. Agreed we will be coming back whenever we’re in the area!

Typical burger by the beach. Burger seems to me like a better version of a double-del burger. Cooked on flattop. Patties were smashed, nice crust. The lettuce is shredded. Fries were a generous portion. Go for the El Jefe then add an extra patty. The food was good enough to recommend.

I would give the burgers about a 7.5. I would give the onion rings a 10. They were big they werent greasy and there was actually more than I could eat and that very rarely happens.....The burger was good, but may have been wrapped too tight because it was very compressed and soggy when I received it

Great food, can’t stress that enough! We got cheese burgers, milkshakes, fries, curly fries, and onion rings. The sides were greasy as good California burger sides ought to be! The burgers were full of flavor and everything you’d want in a burger.The downside? THE WAIT WAS AN HOUR! We got pretty hangry waiting around but the staff was sweet and gave us plenty of ranch and sides to make up for it. I wish service was faster but the kindness and quality was A+ 💯

Amazing burgers, fries and onion rings with a great story is a plus. Walking distance to the beach - so it’s easy to grab and enjoy at the shore and at the outdoor seating. Burgers were delicious - grilled onions jalapeño are a must 👊🏼. The crispiness of the onion rings and fries were on point. Friendliest staff - appreciate their hard work and attention to detail when it’s super busy.

Excellent customer service in which you felt at home. I was awaiting price shock, but a complete meal average $12 to $15. The chicken burger was delicious with all the fixings. Its definitely a must if you have a craving before or after your beach day.

Had great cheeseburgers here! Was an excellent quick stop on our La Jolla trip. The beef had a great flavor, and an excellent soft bun with good quality toppings. The fries were also good. Had a mocha shake that was pretty good as well. The burgers were the best though. The burger patty was a little small for the bun size though but not that big of a deal.Our daughter loves the chicken nuggets.

I loved this little burger joint! The decor is perfect for the La Jolla scene! They have umbrellas over the outside seating. Inside there is only one table. Outside had more tables, but really not much. The food was fantastic!! The burger is the perfect classic American burger. They have a special sauce that is probably mayo based, so if you dont like mayo Id suggest skipping this sauce. The curly fries were delicious! Definitely worth grabbing a bite here!

Absolutely Terrible. WORST FRIES ever. My daughter loves fries and refused to touch these. The fries were seriously over-cooked and dark brown. Not only that, they were all super short little pieces (like 1 inch). Tasted like cardboard and quickly ended up in the trash. $5 fries down the drain. The burger was not good, had a wet soggy bun--so for $13 it was another L. AVOID. Sadly this is NOT like the old Jeffs Burgers.

The staff are pretty nice. They sell fries and onion rings, and only have packets of pepper available. When I asked for some salt for the fries and onion rings, they seemed super bewildered. They went to the cook and he poured some out of a giant container into a small dish for me. It is as if I had asked them for frankincense. They screwed up our order and gave me an extra order of onion rings, and they charge me for them, but it wasn’t the end of the world. We just ate them. The food was pretty good. It was not spectacular, but it was good. They only have small cups available, but you get free refills. The atmosphere is phenomenal.

I was excited to come over here to try their cheeseburger and onion rings. In total I got two cheeseburgers, hot dog, onion rings and french fries. In my opinion the burgers, fries, and hot dog were ok. The onion rings were the best for me. You would have to try it out yourself.

Great little place and I recommend it for a tasty burger and hand cut fries. The onion rings were solid too. Great atmosphere, charming decor and close to the beach. Be prepared to wait for a seat as there isnt a lot of seating (or better yet, enjoy the food down at the beach while gazing at the ocean).

This restaurant was so yummy, and the service was fantastic. The owner came up to us a couple times and made sure everything was good and he was very friendly. I should have gotten a picture of the food but I ate it too quick. I highly suggest coming here. :) I’m glad we just happened to find it. The decor is also so cute. I love all the pink.

We happened by Jeffs Burgers today while we were in La Jolla and decided to eat lunch there. The prices were totally reasonable and the staff was friendly and welcoming; they made us feel like they were happy we came in! We ordered an El Jefe burger, a regular hamburger and a veggie burger. The buns were so delicious... fresh, soft and did not fall apart into a soggy mess like some hamburger buns. We all loved the taste and quality of the meat, veggie patty, toppings and sauce. All three of us agreed that these were the best burgers weve had in a long time! I highly recommend trying them out. Well certainly be back for more outstanding burgers!

As you can see in the picture, the 1/4pd cheese burger is delicious, and for $9 usd, its the right price for the quality.Ask it with all the vegetables +grilled onions +jalapeños and onion rings. Your mouth is going to have a delicious experience.If you come on weekends, expect a waiting time between 20 and 30 minutes but are worth the wait.

Not only are these the best burgers in La Jolla, they are the best in San Diego. The fries are hand-cut, crispy, and delicious. Prices are great too. One of my go-to spots! The manager Marina is so welcoming and helpful and funny and friendly, she makes it a joy to be there and have a happy time by the beach. Best onion rings in San Diego. The fries? Chef’s kiss. Curly fries are also standout. I love the veggie burger with jalapeños, and I grab one of the Tabasco sauce bottles and pour it on—SOOOOO GOOD. The cheeseburgers are also incredible.

Jeffs Burgers is back!!! We are so happy to have our local burger spot back on the block. Burgers were delicious and fresh, chicken sandwich was so flavorful and the fries were addicting. Poor quality food, at most a mediocre score for the cheeseburger, while the fries were an absolute joke (overly fried in what seems very poor quality oil, that was not changed in a good while). Tried for the first time and wont go back again. My cheeseburger was so overcooked, it felt like eating cardboard between buns. It took 20 minutes for the food to get ready on a quiet afternoon. The staff have unnecessary attitude for what they do. In-n-out is half the price, 10 times better, and consistent.

I was so excited to try this new spot! I thought it was related to the OG Jeff’s Burgers spot that was a few doors down but it is it’s own little place. I really liked the milkshake I ordered. I got the “vegan burger”. It was okay, but definitely not worth the $10. I think that they should consider adding beyond burgers or impossible burgers to their list of patty options. It would be incredible! The fries seemed to be unseasoned, and a bit too greasy. They are fairly new and I think the food was good for a restaurant that just opened, but I’m confident that they’ll improve via feedback within the next few months and i’m very excited to try their food again in the future! 🍔🍟😋

The best burger in town. However I removed 2 stars because literally our last 4 orders were incorrect, from something as simple as forgetting toppings on burgers to wrong burgers to missing burgers. We really like these burgers otherwise it would be a 1 star because it’s rediculous we literally can’t get what we ordered 4 times in a row now it’s almost comical.I had a perfect burger again but still cannot give more stars because I ordered lettuce wraps. Cooked to a perfect medium well and smothered in lettuce, pickles, sautéed onion, tomato and their special sauce, youll need to make sure you have plenty of napkins to smash it because juicy isnt putting it lightly. We had gyros, fries and milk shakes and it was the best! Love the decor especially the pink tables and blue stools. Cool beach vibe! We also love the staff and how friendly they are. The dark haired female owner with the accent is so personable and we go back when we’re in town mostly to see her, lol. Here we go... Have purchased food at Jeffs Burgers for the 3rd time since the grand opening. They are consistent, excellent and inexpensive food. The cheeseburger is addictive. The fries are reminiscent of the Thrashers Fries at Ocean City MD, which if you know, you know ...are literally the best. Apple cider vinegar is missing on Jeffs Burgers fries, but I brought my order home and tossed the fries in my own apple cider vinegar... this is the way! Just purchased the grilled chicken sandwich today to taste test, it is good but the burger is where its at! Chocolate shake (not pictured) is top notch! If youre going to the beach, its Jeffs Burgers all the way! (Pictured order was about $33.)

Edit- After speaking with Marina, the GM, she went above and beyond to make things right. We gave Jeffs another chance, and everything was delicious.After hearing good things about Jeffs burgers, we picked up a to go order. Upon arriving home, we discovered that the double burger was completely missing both patties. I called and requested a refund for the incomplete burger. We were told they refund would be issued, days layer still no refund. I call again, the woman says her manager will be in tomorrow, and I will receive a return call and my refund. Neither were done again. So now, a week later, Ive had to resort to a public Google review to hopefully get some attention. Unfortunately, after all of this, we will not be returning to Jeffs.

Food was absolutely delicious! We started with a couple of shakes because the sign said they were the best on the beach, as voted by the restaurant owner’s daughters, and we were not disappointed. We also got a cheeseburger and an all beef hot dog and the flavor was great, and with an order of fries to share there was plenty of food. There was a bit of a wait due to the holiday and being understaffed, but the staff were very friendly and did a great job overall. Definitely will be returning!!!

I love finding little places like this! We were trying to find a place that was open the day after the tropical storm rolled through and not much was. It wasn’t too far from the beach. It was quick and easy to order and the burger, fries and shake were so good! The shake was better then I expected with chocolate syrup. It wasn’t overly sweet or overly too chocolatey, it was prefect! I can’t wait to go back to SD and find this place again.

Super glad the kids and I finally tried Jeffs tonight! We shared a 1/4 cheeseburger, fries, curly fries, onion rings, a chocolate shake, and a strawberry shake. Everything was delicious, fresh, and tasted homemade! The burger was amazing, full of flavor and fully loaded. The fries were fantastic. The curly fries had a homemade seasoning blend with a tiny kick to it. The onion rings had the perfect blend of soft onion and slightly crunchy breading. On top of it, the staff were all incredibly kind! The guy who took our order brought our milk shakes out to our table, and as we were eating, one of the other employees was leaving for the evening, wished us good night and told us he hope we enjoyed our dinner. Seating is very limited, but you can always take your food to eat by the water. Dont pass this place up!!

Usually great, however, the last 2 times in a row, they have butchered the orders. You order a double with onions and bacon, there is no onions or bacon. You ask for no cheese, there is cheese… etc.You can tell they get super overwhelmed and argue behind counter because they are stressing. In a huge rush to just get stuff out the door. My wife and I visited San Diego for our yearly vacation this winter, we heard rumors of an awesome burger shop by the beach where we could see the seals, and kayak and stuff. We had a long day planned so it was nice to have an easy option in close proximity to where we were spending the day. We were met with great food and service. The 1/4 pound burger was cook fantastically well, and the chicken sandwich was delicious. The staff is pleasant and welcoming with a great environment all around. I couldnt stop laughing at the jokes of the older lady who was working the register. I believe she was the store manager or something, but she is absolutely great. My wife was very happy with the experience as well. Our only issue with the place is that we dont have one in AZ. I would like to see one of these in Arizona that offered a sit down option. I think more people would excited to explore a really good, classic, Americana burger and sides venue.

Its a decent burger. Nothing bad or special about it. Fries were seasoned well. My only complaint is the lack of seating. I know they cant do a whole lot about it, but one lady was holding 2 of the only 3 tables waiting for her friends to arrive. That forced us to sit right next to the garbage cans that are placed right by a table. Not pleasant to eat right by the big garbage cans.

Terrible!!!!!! Seldom do I write negative reviews but since sick to my stomach all night, here goes. Worse Gyros and fries I ever had in my life and I’m not young! Fries soggy drenched in grease, meat thin, sparse and crisp, sparsely shredded lettuce, I asked for no onions twice since young man at register looked confused and never smiled yet it was loaded with them. How is this place still in business? I noticed not a lot of people there even though on this hot day beach was packed. Thank god I had a lovely beach day with family but this place No Bueno!!!!!!!!

Just tried this place as a meal after a long surf camp- literally devoured the food!! The little hole in the wall is a bit hard to find, but has an amazing vibe, food, and location for right after surfing. Definitely recommend the half pounder el jefe burger since the quarter is a bit small. Their mayo is super drippy too- goes everywhere so would recommend skipping. Their fries are possibly the best I have ever had though. We chose to upgrade to the curly fries since it was only 50 cents extra and were not disappointed. You’d think they were expensive but for 4.95 we definitely got a plethora of fries- enough for 3 or 4 people!!! Would recommend ordering ahead for sure though as a lot of tourists come here so the line is long!! 🤤

The cheeseburgers were delicious, the fries a little greasy, but the curly fries were just right. The spot is right next to the beach. A block away. Theres a small seating area outside& a couple tables inside. The only reason Im giving the service 4 stars is because it was a bit of a wait (40 min) but we didnt even notice! it was such a nice day outside that we were just enjoying the sun. However if youre really, really hungry just be aware it might take some time to get your food but overall its worth it! I will probably return!

I came in yesterday with my grandma for lunch, it was a busy time for Jeffs’, but the owner (I think) Marina made the wait pleasant and was so welcoming when we walked in. I ordered the El Jefe and a side of onion rings with a vanilla shake. The food was so good, and what made the experience even better was the top tier customer service we experienced from Marina. She made conversation with my grandma in Arabic and in French and made her whole day after that. Next time my grandma’s in town she’s already asked that our first stop be Jeffs’ Beach Burgers.

Great burgers! The beef is delicious and fresh, and the pre packaged frozen and formed patties. The fries are fresh cut onsite and have great texture and flavor (unlike in-n-out’s tasteless fries) the onion rings are home made and also delicious. This place is the real deal!
