Tucked under a sea of umbrellas off El Paseo the cafe offers cover from the heat within a cozy outdoor patio. Free parking is easily available both in front and in back of the cafe. The service was highly attentive, friendly and speedy. If you’re a drinker this may be your new spot, with their all day happy hours, reasonable prices and extensive list of cocktails. The food was slightly bland across a spectrum of options, which may be preferable for older patrons.

Went here based on my friends recommendation (who is a local and its a good find!). Its a cute cafe just off the main strip with outdoor seating and plenty of indoor as well. The owner was there, super present, checking in on tables. And the staff were lovely.We got 2 dishes to split. The salmon scramble was to die for. Literally would go back for this. The salmon sandwich was just ok. And if you love tater tots like me, I recommend skipping these.... They are baked and not the same.... (Read not great). But otherwise everything was delightful!

We ran in for a quick lunch on the way to the Living Desert Zoo. The menu is enormous which is a little daunting. After so much unhealthy food, I decided on the avo toast which was a mistake. It came on regular bread and had sprouts on top which is weird. Anyways it didnt taste bad it was just small and felt like a quick snack that I would make at home. That said, the place was packed and it seemed like Bennys were very popular and they may be the way to go. My son had a hotdog which was decent. I am sure if you get a spot on the patio it is pretty nice in the morning.

Friendly place and atmosphere :) Food was fresh and presentation was also good! Very nice outdoor area while its in the shade they provide heaters if its cold so thats a nice bonus as well. Service was very attentive as well.

This is a very delightful place! We sat outside. There was only a 5 minute wait. Hostess was very pleasant. Service was on point, and genuine. I had the Caesar Salad with salmon. I requested the salmon cooked with no salt or seasoning, and they prepared it just so. They provided these wonderful complimentary little warm pita wedges. JC’s serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch. I will definitely return the next time I’m in Palm Springs area. Also, this time of year is so perfect in the desert. This afternoon was an agreeable 77 degrees 😊

Great spot! First time here with our daughter she had pancakes and bacon love it she ate it all. Shared the cali breakfast burrito added bacon and its was pretty good. We’ll definitely come back when we visit town again.

The place was very busy, but seating moved fast, minimizing wait time. Service was great all around and the food was very good. The belgian waffles are probably the best waffles Ive ever had, highly recommended. The blue crab Benedict was delicious and a must try if you are into Benedicts. The Machacado Burrito was very tasty, fresh ingredients and the flour tortilla wrapping it was just right. We prefer sharing dishes so we get to try different things, but if you only had to order one, Id recommend the Benedict or waffles.

Im so glad I found this little gem one morning. Ive been back here numerous times and the service is always extremely friendly, helpful and genuine. Their food is delicious! I love the Belgium Waffles. They load it with blueberries and strawberries, more than any other restaurant Ive been to. My boyfriend loves the variety of scrambles they have. Always great portions and excellent taste. Theyre open for breakfast and lunch and have a large variety of drinks as well. I just discovered that they also have a small terrace with a single table if you want some privacy. We love it and come here every week and will continue to do so.

We stopped in on our way to the living dessert for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised with the variety of breakfast options. My mother had the spinach frittata with avocado and I had the French scramble. Both were delicious. On top of that service was amazing 😍

Fun lunch with 3 couples.Sat outside near the parking lot, plenty of shade with the numerous umbrellas. Had a Cobb Salad, and the Mrs has Avocado Toast. Food was tasty and filling. We were in the lunch rush hour, and the place was packed. Service was very slow, but they were doing their best

I was really looking for a nice breakfast place to try out and decided to come here because I was convinced by the 4.6 star rating (at the time I saw this place). I was very disappointed. The food was subpar despite looking great, and the service was lacking. The server we had took so long to take our order and even forgot to bring my drink. I was already finished with half of my food when the bartender noticed I had nothing to drink and quickly made me the drink. My friend got her drink and her food before I ever saw anything. We never got a chance to get refills since our server never came back. When she finally did, instead of asking us if we wanted to get another drink or dessert, the server only brought us the tab without saying anything. I know this place was capable of good service since the place wasnt all that busy, and the table next to us had an excellent, attentive server. It really felt like they were kicking us out at the end, even if there were plenty of tables open and we werent there that long.

Despite our very poor service- the food at JC’s is remarkably DELICIOUS, NUTRITIOUS and over the top YUMMY 😋. This was our 2nd visit to this incredible cafe. We loved it so much we came back. We were very disappointed with our server Nellie - maybe it was because we chose to eat outside in the stifling heat versus in the cool A/C, but she was inattentive and unavailable. She failed to bring our salad dressing on any of our salads. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Hopefully- she will have an opportunity to grow from this.Regardless - we strongly encourage you to enjoy an outstanding salad 🥗 at JC’s Cafe 😉

I got a breakfast burrito and was a bit disappointed. There were maybe 6 black beans in the burrito. 😲 And the avocado was one bite not in the burrito but placed on top. There was no salsa in my burrito and I was brought ketchup. The potatoes were a bit too oily. Nice atmosphere though so if it was convenient I guess Id come again.

Outdoor patio with music and fountain just off El Paseo.Super friendly and attentive staff that was having fun.The Short rib Benedict looked to be the must order item but unfortunately we only saw it on every other table after we ordered. Next time.The chicken Tamale breakfast was good.Liked their English muffins as well.Bacon was pathetically small and fatty. This place is a GEM! Food is great, and portions are generous. The staff is friendly, even a little quirky. Fun place to go and enjoy a breakfast or lunch. Patio is delightful, in a small court yard with trees and umbrellas for shade from the desert sun. Reminds me very much of a east coast deli type.Can be very busy, particularly at the height of the season, but it is really worth waiting for. The pastrami hot dog is a blast, but they seem to have the sandwich category down pretty well. The chicken salad is generous and delish! Enough to share. Have not been for the breakfast, but our friends tell us it is very good.Prices are reasonable. Plenty of parking in the rear. This can be difficult to find from the main street, as it is at the rear of a little court yard, but easy to find from the parking area. A real treat.

First time eating at JCs Cafe. It was highly recommended by employee at the Westin Desert Willow Resort George Rivero. We were not disappointed. Greeted as we entered. Plenty of indoor seating. Outside patio is covered and large area of seating. Plenty of on site parking-free. This cafe is a hidden gem located on El Paseo. The owners Casey & Michelle will take turns walking around to all customers asking how they are as well as how is your meal. They also take the time to meet and greet with everyone. Great personable touch. Our serverMariela J was professional. courteous, personable, and great sense of humor. She was an excellent server who was extremely witty. Highly recommend.

I looking forward to have a great breakfast here but the lady that was at the front was very rude and try to has us sat down by raining spot. I pointed that out and the lady responded with sarcasm, I requested a dry spot inside and the lady pretend to look around, came back and told there wasnt anything. She was just amazing and I hope she’s my waitress when I return.The atmosphere and setup was plush under outdoor trees, even if it was 110* outside, it was bearable thanks to how cognizant they were in setting up for the present guests. JCs is tucked in off El Paseo and Sage in Palm Desert. They have a sweet patio under the trees. Ive had several things that I love to eat there. Machaca and eggs, Avocado Toast, Soup and Sandwich, along with a mimosa. This is a photo of the hot dog my sister ordered yesterday and she loved it! It had sauerkraut and mustard along with a very tasty pickle. Tiny inside, but sit out if you can.

Even though they were short staffed today, the servers were amazing! So friendly and helpful! I brought my pup with me and without even asking, they brought a bowl of water for him! And my goodness! The food was incredible. I asked what was good and the waitress recommended avocado toast with eggs and bacon! I was so hungry that I didn’t even notice there was no bacon and my waitress noticed and got my bacon which was so crispy and tasty right away! The fruits were sweet and crisp and the tomato on my toast was perfect! And they serve dessert in the morning! So I got myself a blueberry cobbler with ice cream and I just about got on my knees and thanked god for letting me try this delicious dessert! Definitely will be back again!

This place was amazing!!! Marie A was our server and she was so polite and kind. The Bloody Mary was amazing and so was our breakfast. I got the chicken tamale with eggs over medium and my husband got the JC scramble. The scramble comes out as more of a breakfast then a scramble but it was still all very delicious. The restaurant was clean, and a really good temperature. The food was great and adequately portioned. We did order drinks and they were pretty strong but still enjoyable. We are from out of state so maybe that had something to do with our opinion on the drinks. Definitely would come back if in the area, oh and the waffle was amazing! It has a funnel cake consistency with a crispy outside but perfectly fluffy and soft inside.

Front hostess wasnt very friendly upon arrival. Waitress was a doll though! I split a club sandwich with a friend. It was dry and little. Usually clubs are 4 sections and tall. Poor service, messed up order and overall mediocre food would not ever have us return.ate here on a sunday morning at around 8:30. appears a lot of regulars go there. they messed up my other halfs order not only bringing bacon not sausage but also a fruit cup instead of potatoes. food was marginal in quality. server was not a good server as she told us some story about placing an order for the LONG wait to get our order taken but yet took ours and was back out in a second.would not go back as theres too many other options for breakfast and I used to think it was a hard meal to mess up but Jcs proved that wrong and especially approaching a $40 breakfast.

Ive been wanting to try this place for the longest time and I finally made my way. You have a choice of indoor or out door dinning. Outdoors they have umbrellas and spread out seating in a nice court yard. While indoors is small it is comfortable and cool on a hot day. We ordered the hot pastrami sandwich with a choice of side. My choice was a bowl a fresh fruit and my friend chose the potato salad. The pastrami was warm and tender and sliced thinly mmmmmm so good, our sides were very good as well. Our server was very attentive. I look forward to coming back. Until then.

Great little breakfast spot with incredibly nice wait staff. They handle the crowds well, didn’t have a long wait at all on a Sunday morning. The food is standard breakfast fare, but when asked to bring a few more strawberries for the French toast, she brought a bow of fresh strawberries. This is unlike places like Sherman’s, who are very old school and haven’t realized service matters.

Not worth it. I ordered the vegetarian burrito, california which according to the menu included beans and avocado in the filling. It was about 5 black beans and a morsel of avocado. I really like the Chipotle chicken sandwich, and then come slaw was one of the best ones I have tasted. I gave it 3 stars because they didnt have more hot plate options for lunch. Menu was only sandwiches, breakfast, and salads! Service was a bit slow, we ran out of coffee and for $3 a cup, you would think they would refill our cups, had to ask for water also. But the food was great!

Tried JC cafe for my sister, we usually bounce between the palms cafe and Louises pantry, wanted to try something new...Food was okay, i did the eggs Benedict, pretty good but the potatoes were super mushy and seasoned weird combined with the crazy high prices and the fact that everything about this place is catered to elder folks...like really elder. Mushy plates all around, and the chairs left bruises on my back, worst seating i have experienced in all of the valley. And this is right off el paseo!? Not happy with this place none of my family ever want to return which was stated out loud before even finishing the meal. So you can catch me at the palms cafe anytime!

Stopped here on a whim because we were early for an appointment. We were greeted very warmly, which was nice. Service was very good. Friendly and efficient. My Bloody Mary was good, especially for only $5.00. The Huevos Rancheros I had was very good, as was my wifes sandwich. It was pretty busy by the time we left shortly before noon on a Saturday.

MUST TRY! Wow, talk about a food joint that puts passion into what they do. This is one of those rare eaterys that actually cares about what they serve you.I had the Pastrami. Heres what it was like:Super fresh artisan roll, not too crunchy, not too soft with good flavor and consistency. Perfect for a pastrami. Theyre spin on this delicious sandwich is a Cole slaw lathered in a delicious chipotle sauce. The cheese tastes of great quality and the Boars Head pastrami is delicious. Its got delicious dill pickles with some unique mustard, not deli mustard, more of a yellow 2.0 . It helps that it is prepared by someone who cares what youre about to eat. The potatoes salad was so good I had to ask about it. The potatoes werent soggy but also not undercooked. These folks have clearly been in the food game a long time, sprinkled with some paprika and not too oniony, the perfect side to my sandwich.The ambience is cute and welcoming. The bar I found out is old basketball court planks which is a cool story and looks outstanding (I sat and ate at the bar). The owners are a husband and wife who were both there and very tentative. The service was over the top good and personal.The iced tea was fresh brewed and slightly on the strong side for a clean rich flavor. I like when places do this because you can always dilute it with water (my dad likes weak tea, I prefer STRONG). I cant stress enough how noticeable it is that not only have these folks been doing this a long time (it shows in their food and their efficiency) but also that the truly care about what youre about to eat. Massive win from this place I recently found out about.Ill be back way too often.

We stopped at JCs on our way back from the airport, but were sadly disappointed. I ordered a simple sandwhich with just veggies, and the rest of my party ordered salads. It took about half an hour for our food to come out, and the cafe wasnt super busy. From when we ordered to when we got our food, we only saw a couple other orders go out. There was on available outdoor seating (it was all taken up), and it was quite expensive for what we got. The food was good, dont get me wrong.

For young man he has very good people skills looks you in the eye and has awesome communication skills. Proprietor welcomes everyone that walks through the door. Tried this place out for lunch over charged me like $40 dollars when I ask they refused to return my money so ended up paying $70 for a burrito,4 tamales and two large sodasThey said there was no mistake that each tamale was $9.50. They tasted horrible tossed them away. I do not recommend this place at all.

This is the second time weve been to this Cafe only to say how disappointed we were to have breakfast there. My husband and I ordered the Denver scramble only to have no cheese very little ham but a lot of bell pepper. The service was very slow we got there at 8:30 our food set up at the counter getting cold while the servers were just standing around talking I would not come back and extremely overpriced for what you get to charge over $13 for a waffle thats not made fresh its ridiculous.

This is a quiet gem where you can get breakfast, brunch or lunch. Eat outside and watch the birds play in the fountain or dine indoors if you need a/c. This isnt a big brassy restaurant. Its more like a cafe you would find in Paris or Rouen. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Wish to sip a latte and read the paper? This is the place to do it. I usually get a blat on sour dough. The bacon is always crispy. For those who have been disappointed, perhaps all that is needed is a change in perspective. The food is prepared fresh, your conversation is not dampened by cars going by and its a quiet lovely place to relax. There is ample parking behind the restaurant and if you choose, you are set to stroll El Paseo to the east or west as the restaurant is nestled in the center (sorta).
