Best and very convenient. I took my Sons SE racing bike to get serviced for front wheels needed replacement in the axle and other things such as a missing cap that keeps the spindle in place they might not have had the parts there but they were very quick to get a hold of them. Great service and great response time thank you guys

I went in to just browse around since I was looking for a new bike. Did some research online on a few Trek bikes and came across a few a liked. Figured I take a look at them in person. I was shown both bikes plus a additional one that interested me. At the end I ended up purchasing the Trek checkpoint SL 5.

Shoutout to the mechanics Will and Thomas for their excellent service and quality of work. This is certainly my go to place for major repairs on the bike and they are the only people in the city that I fully trust to handle such things when it comes to my bike. They have a 30 day warrantee on all fixes which gives me an incredible peace of mind and I always know their service will be professional and they will care for my bike as it is their own. Jax has an incredibly fast turnaround time and they are very communicative with me when my bike is in for repairs. I always recommend Jax to all my friends and will continue upgrading and repairing with them!

I am new to cycling hobby, so I was very nervous on getting my first road bike and other things. I had been to different other bike stores but I didn’t feel the vibe there at all. I am glad I found Jax, Jeff and other associates are very friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome. Jax is definitely my favorite bike store to go to. Highly recommended!

I flew into Long Beach Airport and had a bike question about my tri bike that I had just flown in with. The staff was super knowledgeable and answered my question, and was kind enough to set me up with a bike stand in the store to start assembling my bike out of the bike bag! I ended up running into a few problems with assembly as it was my first time with the TT bike and the staff all helped me out and got me ready to roll! Thank you so much!! We bought our Dahon Mariner D8 Folding Bike from here in 2019 before the pandemic. Its a great bike and Ive had fun riding it, doesnt seem like they have it anymore though. I came here today with my mom for a free tune-up which is apparently offered for bikes purchased from here, but we discovered it has be pretty much right after a 6 month time period. The technicians or staff were unwilling to provide us the tune-up on the basis that we waited too long. Because of the pandemic we never went to this bike store so we lost our chance I suppose. Its understandable, but its still absolutely absurd an alleged professional tune-up costs $200. You can practically purchase a new bike with that much money. My mom did not understand too well, but the way the staff at this place acted towards us was completely unprofessional. The attitude of one guy in particular was horrible and he remained hostile until we left. We ended up taking our bike to A & D Bicycle Shop in Long Beach where they provided much more reasonable prices, fixing our issues, and were helpful and understanding. I did not want to leave this negative review, but our experience here was appalling. Please be aware if you dont fork out the money, the staff will be hostile.

Thanks Jax Bicycles for providing my family with excellent service. We were in the market for purchasing my 12 yr old son a bike for Christmas, and we really loved the Trax bikes with the fat tires. My service rep went above, and beyond, to do research and found the bike. I requested from one of their seven stores. That’s great service when someone takes the time to make you happy. Yes, I have visited other bicycle stores in the immediate area but this specific place went above and beyond. Once I purchased the bike, I was sent a welcome email, and all the information I needed on my purchase. Ive bought a few bikes from Jax LBC over the last 20 years including my recent eBikes. This is one of the better bicycle stores in Long Beach. They specialize in Trek bikes but the selection is good. I had an issue when purchasing a new bike from them recently and after voicing my frustrations, the manager along with Zac and Tommy, were able to workout a deal that will keep my business.

I have had work done on an older bike and recently bought a new Trek FX3 bike from this shop. I’ve been impressed by the prompt and effective customer service. Paul was remarkably helpful when selecting the best fit for my cycling needs (transportation around the city and potentially doing a sprint triathalon). During our test ride, he provided feedback on how my body was positioned with the different bikes and explained the differences in the models. Paul was also very thorough in explaining different options with accessories. I could tell that he really cared about me having an optimal overall experience with my bike.

I only came to the Jax Bicycle Center to purchase a bike lock, and my mother came along to look at the bikes. Manny was very kind and encouraging to my mother, patiently explaining different bikes to her, what would be good for her in her older age, and how easily she could transport her bike with the type of vehicle she has. My mother hasnt ridden a bike in ten years, and already she is discussing what bike she wants. The staff members treated my mother very well, and I am grateful for their kindness.

Payton is an awesome teammate at Jax. I went in and left with the exact bike that I wanted in less than 30 minutes. I live right on Ocean and I needed a beach cruiser after my last was was stolen. Was out in the area riding up Bellflower and got a flat tire. I managed to make it to the shop moments before closing. They refused to help me due to their business hours. I had no issue paying for service since i was carrying my wallet, but not a patch kit & pump.Then they got upset that I was waiting for somebody to come pick me up and take my bike home.They lost a sale that day, i would definitely have bought a patch kit & some compressed CO2 from them. Instead, I ordered some off amazon when i got home.

I would like to acknowledge Anders especially. I am an older lady with some balance issues and so am a little intimidated by bikes. Anders listened to my concerns and desires for my next bike. I ended up trying 2, both electric, a Trex and a Townie. I fell in love with the latter and am now comfortably cruising along the river path regularly. The bike is stable, shifting gears is easy and changing the power levels is a dream. The bike makes steady progression from ECO to TOURIST and SPORT without any huge jumps (much less startling than my husbands bike!). Very poor service. Left a part to get fixed. I was told it would be ready the following day. After four weeks (FOUR WEEKS) without a call I decided to visit and ask about my bicycle part. Well, it was still in the same spot where it was placed by the great staff. I decided to take my business to California Bicycles on the corner of Carson and Lakewood. Your customer service is awesome! I needed a receipt from almost 6 years ago, and when I asked if you still have it, your associate emailed the receipt to me as we spoke. Now that is amazing! Also, I brought my bike in for maintenance, and when I called that morning, whoever answered the phone told me they had a lot of bikes come in that morning and they couldn’t guarantee I could pick it up that day. When I brought it in a bit after 1 pm, your repair tech said he would have it done by the end of the day. I received an email about 4 pm that my bike was ready for pickup! Kudos Jax!

Our customer rep Anders went above and beyond for us and we cant be more thankful. I went to buy a bike, to which I could add a baby seat. He walked us through our options, set up a test drive, and then carefully walked us through our many different options for the items that we wanted to add to the bike - car seat, basket, bell, lock and such. Then was kind enough to deliver the bike to our house, as our car didnt fit it. It was such a smooth sail, that is definitely our go-to bike store from now on!

As far as merchandise, they have a good selection. But there customer service is the worst! Since they are so busy they don’t have the time to explain things. I believe some of the employees are even demeaning. But what did it for me was they sold me a Trek triathlon bike that I now realized was to small of a frame for my body type. I developed knee problems over time. After buying another bike at Tri Zone, I was fitted correctly with a larger framed bike and the knee pain went away. I now go to Jax only as a last resort when I know exactly what I want and don’t need the aid of a sales representative.

Very easy exchange process. Bikes are very personal and it’s nice to know if you take it home and it’s not quite right you have options. The mechanics are friendly and helpful. Working on bikes it’s nice to have someone else work on my bike from time to time : ) One of the stock brakes on my bike was faulty and they were able to find a very reasonable solution. If I could offer any advice it would be to go for the highest price bike within your budget. Buy nice or buy twice. You won’t ever regret spending more on a bike unless you spend your house payment on the bike. But hey, at least you’ll have a rad bike.

I was thrilled that Jax had the two ebikes I wanted in stock. It made the drive from Pasadena worth it. Even the 3.5 hours I was there to get all my accessories, get fitted and learn how to put the bikes on my new car rack was well used time. Zak took me from choosing my bikes to waving goodbye as I drove off with them. He was attentive and enthusiastic about my purchases and taught me so much along the way. I love JAX-Long Beach and I love their whole family of supposed employees. They truly a family of caring, knowledgeable and experienced bike enthusiasts who excel as great listeners - before offering suggestions and guidance about your needs and requirements.I have spent months visiting the store, researching JAXs and TREKs website, and online to narrow down and spec out a new bike as a replacement for my 10-year bike. Over the months of my visits and endless questions, their guidance helped me to narrow my choices to either an X-Caliber or an FX-Sport 5 or 6. Then they helped me to narrow my choice to the specific models, features and specifications - versus my budget and riding habits. Finally, a couple of test rides helped to define my final choice, an FX-Sport 6 Carbon Fiber. They make sure that you leave the place happy.It was a 1 on 1 shopping experience and they took the time to answer all my questions and show me what they had available.Although I gave them a 10 out of 10, my only suggestion to make the experience even better would be to set up some kind of canopy or umbrellas outside to provide shade to the customers waiting in the stand-by line to get inside the store during this COVID pandemic. I waited in line for nearly an hour to get in on my first visit and I, along with the others waiting outside, wouldve appreciated anything to make the wait more comfortable.

Jax repair policies could be a bit more clear but their staff is top shelf. Their Long Beach store is well stocked with any style of bike you may want.They have a good supply of E-bikes but call ahead to make sure they have the size frame you need. Some sizes are a bit more difficult to come by.A quick word about E-bike repairs. If youre trying to get an E-bike repaired at Jax, it will need to be a brand they sell. You dont have to buy it there but if needs be a bike they can get parts for. Call ahead to clarify.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Anders at Jax Long Beach. Id been looking for a particular handlebar for some time, and ended up finding one at a different Jax location. On the website, it was only available for store pickup, but I couldnt spend two hours driving to get it either. Anders took the time and gave personal attention to my order, making it possible for a home delivery, and even followed up personally to ensure it was shipped and delivered. Ive never been to a Jax store, but they have a winner in Anders!

Jax Bicycles in Long Beach is a refreshingly pleasant and quality experience. I came in to have my Trek Marlin 6 adjusted and I immediately noticed that everyone who works there was incredibly polite and extremely professional. The store feels clean and organized. Like a well tuned bike, everyone who works there can shift between customers very smoothly. Tommy is a fantastic service engineer/mechanic who is passionate about his job and loves to share knowledge about maintaining your bike. He explained how every screw and bolt within the gear system can be adjusted and even why. To be explained a technical process so clearly and distinctly with patience is something I rarely come across. He quickly adjusted the front and rear derailleurs by starting from a baseline and working his way up. The gears feel amazing now. Zac is a great guy and he was super hospitable. He made the experience feel like youre coming over to hangout with a friend. Awesome experience all around. I highly recommend this location. Very organized.

This place is a rip off on service. I had an issue shifting, and they quoted me $240 to repair including a whole new rear cassete, a $70 chain ($25 at my other Trek shop back home), and $100 of labor. Yuck! I felt like the guy here spent so much time convincing me of how super complicated a bike is and why it would cost so much. They were totally hostile when I explained I was on a budget and what could we do for the bare minumum to get it running.I drove a mile down the block to California Cycle Sport Bicycles and there was a super chill guy who was willing to do the repair for $30. I opted to replace the chain as well and the total came out to $60. Aka 25% of the price the Jax quoted, and my bike works perfectly now. So obviously all their claims of needing to replace so many parts were ill informed.The guy at Cycle Sport Bicycles said its simple whereas the Jax guys insisted it was rocket science.Now I want to qualify this review. If you have a $7000 bicycle, if you are rich and dont care, this is a wonderful place for you. The people are friendly and professional. The place has a posh clean vibe.If you are a student like me and posh clean vibes matter much less than $180, then you should go up the street to Cycle Sport Bicycles.Finally, if youre looking to buy a bike, I highly recommend Trek. My old Trek bike has survived hard riding and multiple crashes and is still in great shape 10 years later. This would be a great place if you are looking to buy a new bike in the $1000 range.

Apparently the mechanic is a jerk. I asked the gentleman who answered the phone if it was possible to install the Bluetooth gear shifter on my model of bike and the polite front office worker told me that the mechanic pretty much just scoffed. I just called another local bike shop and they gave me all the details and said that is was possible. Very disappointing. Wanting to get some sun and exercise, ended up at JAX planning to buy a bike. The bike I wanted to buy was not available in Medium. I asked the person helping me if any of their other store had them in stock and was told no without checking the system. So I ended up buying the small and given a pickup date after 2 days. My bike had extensive rust damage due to being stored near chlorine. They restored it better than new and gave me different options to control cost. I needed a helmet and started browsing around, they had top-tier helmets but nothing less than $60. I just needed something basic, didnt have extra cash to spend on a premium helmet. On our way our the owner flagged us down and said he has some on sale for half off in the back. He walks back and pulls out what looks like a big screen TV box full of helmets.He pulls a helmet. Perfect size, perfect color, perfect style. Its got a tiny scuff on the top less than 1/4 inch long, but thats it. He said these were some of the imperfect ones left from a wholesale event.This guy is one of the best salesmen I have ever experienced. We came in on Friday evening to get my 11 year old son a bike. Matt was so helpful in sizing him on an appropriate adult frame that still has years for him to grow into by adjusting the seat and handlebars. They didn’t have the 26” frame at the LB location, but they did at HB. The manager from HB delivered it to LB and they assembled it Sat morning so we could go first thing and have him test it out. He loves it. We got him a Hybrid TREK bike, it was a little more pricey than I had planned to spend, but it’s a really good quality bike and the fact that he’ll be able to ride it for several years without outgrowing it in a year or two totally makes it worth it. So happy with the purchase and the excellent customer service. Plus they were very covid safe, only allowing a limited amount of people in the store at a time to not be too crowded.

Ive been here a Couple of times for some custom retrofit of my Cannondale CAAD12 into the lightest beach cruiser around! I was told that dismantling of the bike for cleaning, tightening, adjustments of what’s needed including lubrication of parts will make my road bike feel new in riding it again, guess what? The only difference I saw was it was physically clean on the outside but, as far as the issue I mentioned about the little noise and not normal shifting of the chain was still there. I am disappointed. I was told that I need to leave the bike for service and return the next Day but to my surprise, after just a few hours, I received a message that my bike was ready for pick up. Now I wonder if they really did dismantle the bike for proper point inspection snd lubrication and proper adjustments and tightening of everything the way it should have been done?

Its been 12 or 15 years since Id ridden and when I walked into the store with my internet knowledge I thought I knew what I wanted until I met Nathan. He was happy to sell me what I asked for but showed me a different bike that might be more appropriate for my planned riding. After more internet research I concluded that Nathans advice was spot on and came back a second time where Nathan and owner Dave Hanson set me up with everything Id need to get back in the saddle. They reassured me that the Trek FX 5 Sport was the bike for me and now after riding it for 30 miles I absolutely agree. The original car rack I purchased didnt work out but Dave ordered a Yakima rack that replaced it beautifully. Nathan fitted the bike to me, set up all the lights and computer and showed me how to work everything. Thanks to Dave and Nathan for making the experience so positive for me. It is Nice having a bike shop to pick up parts same day, So when i can i try to buy locally. however, most parts Ive found online are on average half the price. Just a bigger mark up than Ill be willing to pay in the future. ie, I Paid 65 bucks for a pair of dura-ace shift cables the other day (should of done some research before) Out of curiosity I googled the part number And theyre widely available for 33 $s elsewhere. Unfortunately they dont price match online stores and Im not about to drive around to collect a lower price at a local another local bike shop.. so it is what it is... I decided to pursue a dream of mine to do the ALC ride from San Francisco to LA in 2020. I haven’t really been on a bike in almost 35 years and the anxiety I had about purchasing a bike and starting to train was overwhelming. I looked at several bike shops in the area and always felt “sold.” Nothing felt right until I entered Jax in Long Beach. I was looking around and Josh approached me. He was so easy to talk to and he quickly alleviated my anxiety around doing the ride and finding the right bike. Josh was so patient and understanding. He answered all my questions and even suggested questions I should ask. I really felt heard and I didn’t feel like he was judging me. I felt taken care of. He encouraged me to take a test ride with him. During the ride around the neighborhood, he taught me a few of the important things I needed to know as I start to train including directional signals. Rented a bike here for a day. Upfront pricing. No extras for pedal installation, Garmin mount and flat kit. Helped me map my route as I was going up to Malibu (30ish miles). Large shop and everyone I talked to was knowledgeable about cycling, equipment, bikes etc. Great shop. Definitely would rent from them again.

They checked out my bike and said it would cost 399.00 to repair. they offered 40 bucks and said I should buy a new bike. there was an older gentleman there who saw me looking at a beach cruiser and said, keep your bike, you dont want to buy a paper boy bike. I took my bike and left.I went to the bicycle stand on broadway. they tuned my bike, new chain new tire, new inner tubes. they were real good people. I have my original bike back, good as new for 114.00 bucks.even though jax is close to my house, Im going elsewhere!

This place is not helpful. If you know what you want and need it in a pinch, this place is okay, but has a high retail makup. The staff is friendly, but young and inexperienced. From bikes to working the register and processing gift cards, they are not very well versed.

The reason I hate jax is I took my giant to them for a peak performance tune up which cost $129.00 I explain to the young guy what the issues were and said I just want it to ride the way it should with out the clicking I experience when I peddle hard the guy told me well take care of it along with a new chain I come back to pick up my bike in way less time than they said and as soon as I get there I ride around the block and the clicking is now worse way worse I tell the young guy that repaired it to take it for a ride he rides around the parking lot and then says I dont see what youre talking about so I say ride it again he does then comes back and says oh I see it then starts to explain to me that my crank is worn out and I need to replace it so I say well why would I come for a $129 repair to make my $1000 bike ride worse and you dont tell people if the parts are no good before you put it back together then I saw the owner in her new Cadillac truck and asked if she took her escalade in for service would she expect it to come back driving worse she said no then some young dildo worker tried to step in with poltical answers so I give it back and then waited to see if they can REALLY fix my bike I come back later after they fix it and it seems ok so I take it home a day later I look and notice they changed my crank I call and the guy says no we didnt do that unless you paid for it I said ok Im omw I get there and tell them that I dont really appreciate them replacing my crank first of all without my permission and secondly to an inferior crank the guy trys to explain to me that all cranks are the same blah blah blah they then take it back do some bs to it and say oh you needed like one or two bearings I say so you bycycle technicians didnt know a crank needs all its bearings anyway I leave with a bike that is semi repaired with cheap parts I work out of town so I didnt get to ride my bike for a while I come back ride it twice and the Damn clicking is back they honestly ruined my bike DONT GO THERE IF YOU HAVE A DECENT BIKE TAKE YOUR KIDS BIKE THERE BUT NOT AN ACTUAL REAL BIKE THEY SUCK AND SO DO THEIR NOT SO EXPERIENCED REPAIRMEN 🖓🖓2 THUMBS DOWN 🖒AND 1 THUMB UP THE REPAIR MANS ASS
