I love Janes beer store! I find new and interesting beers every time I go. Good for unique brews, large format, or cans. Theyve got it all nicely organized and are really helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!

This is a great place to pick up all sorts of beers and some other beverages. I was very happy to find both Firestone Walkers seasonal brews and SFMead here. The staff is also very friendly and seem to be fairly passionate about beer. As others have mentioned, the price is also good.The only downside is that the selection is small/random. There is no guarantee that what you want will be in stock unless you call ahead!

Great selection. Reminds me of a similar store in Oakland called the Good Hop Bar and Bottle Shop. Main difference is that Janes doesnt have a bar. Great selection of beers that one can buy by the can/ bottle. Love that its near Caltrain too.

I just discovered this place in Mountain View so close to Castro and Im super excited! I used to go to this spot near SCU to get specialty beers but I find the prices here are just as good. I love finding specialty beer shops because they almost always have something interesting that Ive never had before.Janes Beer Store is definitely small but mighty, the staff are knowledgable about beers, and they just simply have a great selection. Definitely recommended!

The beer is good but expensive. The shop is really dim. The grumpy cashier had his mask hanging half way off his face as we approached the shop but took it completely off when we walked in, even though we both had masks on. We were not greeted or spoken to at all our entire visit except our total for our beer and a couple grunts. He almost seemed mad we were wearing masks. There is a tip jar on the counter but Im not sure for what there was absolutely no communication with us in the store, maybe they want tips for dirty looks? Will not go back would rather frequent any other liquor store with less selection or even a grocery store if I dont have to deal with any bro proud boy.

I really like this store and appreciate the knowledgeable staff. Im torn about the stores (what I will call) eccentricity. The aging hippie in me likes the fact that it looks like more or less the opposite of what a retail consultant might advise. I tolerate the heavy metal music. OTOH, I cant help but think theyd sell more beer if the place were a bit more inviting. For me, the late opening times are inconvenient. (And, no, to date I dont start drinking before noon.) The military-surplus-looking logo is in keeping with the eccentricity. I get that the dimness is for the beers sake, but Im thinking that, with modern fixtures, something could be done toenhance the lighting. I dont want a mini-BevMo. Ill continue to patronize Janes. This review reflects my confusion about the place. I wish them well.

Im lucky to have this just around the corner fro my apartment - Janes Beer Store not only houses a great selection of beers but the staff Ive encountered so far genuinely know their stuff and can point you in the direction of a few options (especially if you find yourself a little overwhelmed by all the choices, like I did when I first walked in). It is a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for, supporting a small local business with a wealth of beverages to choose from.

This place has an incredible variety of excellent beer. The lovingly hand-picked inventory includes the best from local breweries, hard-to-find specialties, and imports. Almost everything is sold by the bottle, so its a great way to explore. Highly recommended for any beer aficionado!

The selection is great, the prices are reasonable and the people working there know their stuff. Got introduced to a couple new breweries by them. Toolbox Brewing out of San Diego is a new favorite I discovered through Janes; if like sour beers check them out

One of the gems of South Bay in terms of places to grab craft beer. Good selection that favors IPA and Belgians/Sours. Hazy and Brut are a bit lighter in selection. What separates them is that youll find stuff there that you wont see in the BevMo and Total Wines of the area. Always worth a walk through.

Janes has a really great selection of beer. The prices are pretty steep, and some of these beers can definitely be had for less, but sometimes its worth paying for the convenience and to keep a place like Janes in downtown Mountain View. The guys who work here are super knowledgeable and helpful, too.

Widest selection of craft beer that Ive found in the area. Better than BevMo, way better than Whole Foods. Huge variety, and the selection is constantly changing and being updated. They carry local breweries, other American crafts, and imports. I can walk in here with a hankering for any style and walk out with an armful of excellent brews. The Google+ posts highlighting their latest arrivals keep enticing me to come back on a regular basis. Highly recommended!

Best beer store in the greater area. They carry many craft American beers as well as a wide variety of European beers, especially Belgian and Trappist beers. They also have plenty of beer from places Ive never seen before. Great place.

I couldnt figure out any method in the way that the beers were organized. They seemed way overpriced - a Maui Brewing Co beer that Ive seen for $12 for a 6 pack was somehow sold in a 4 pack for $14 or so. They were blasting heavy metal that really just made me want to get out of there. The employees seemed really disinterested in offering help or suggestions.

This small store is packed with rare beers from around the world and was a lot of fun to browse. I was also happy to see that this store carries various Ciders and Meads which can be difficult to find. I found that the person behind the counter was eager to help pick out a beer and she entertained any questions that I had.

This is not the place to go if you are looking to pick up a couple of cases of Bud Light for a party. They have a massive selection of wonderful beers and boy-oh-boy can they tell you about them. The service is wonderful and I havent seen a selection like theirs anywhere else in town. From the outside it might look the the business is closed, but this is not the case. Walk in and be amazed.

A definite must for beer connoisseurs. If you like to constantly change things up, this is your place. A constantly changing inventory mixed with staple favorites. If they dont have what youre looking for, ask! They may be able to track it down for you. Very friendly/helpful service.

From the moment I walked in and gazed upon walls of eclectic beers, I knew I struck gold. If you live by the mantra, Life is too short to drink crappy beer then Janes Beer Store will be your new favorite place. The staff speaks about their unique and diverse beer selections with the expertise and passion of an art museum curator describing a Picasso painting. After a few minutes of them walking me around the store, I simply said, Ill buy whatever you tell me to. Ive drank a few of them and they havent been wrong yet.This is the store I would want to open if I ever quit my job in the tech industry... but the owner has managed to do both: she works at NASA and runs this amazing shop. Jane is my new hero!

Large bottle beer selection with some being refrigerated for a quick brown bag beer. Heavy metal music typically is blasting to move the customers along quicker. Prices can be on the $$$ side but you typically wont see these beers anywhere else. Make sure you check the bottle date if it has one, Ive gotten some beers that were way over their prime.

Located next to the mountain view caltrain station, this is a great place to grab a beer for the train. They have such a wide selection of beers available.Bonus points for keeping the place rather dark. If rays will destroy a good beer, so they make sure minimal overall light reaches their beer inventory

Great little place that opened up not too long ago. I went in this afternoon and got immediate service and personal recommendations on a double IPA, an imperial stout and a barleywine. Staff seems very knowledgable and for the size of the shop they have a great selection of brews. Definitely worth checking out.
