Jim and Kevin are my heroes! I had an ancient system that died, and they really came through for me! They are totally nice guys and as professional and skilled as you could ever want. They had my system back up and upgraded in under 24 hours and at a totally reasonable cost. They dont even charge a bench charge! I cant recommend J&B Computers enough. If you need help with your computer this is the place to go. They even have systems for sale on site. Thanks guys!

I build a PC which didnt post and I took it to J&B, within one day they let me know the issue, gave me recommendation and fixed, done fantastic cable management and complete within a day after parts I order arrived, they accommodate my need including give me update through email as requested, and stay open until I get there to pick up the PC. They have done actual customer service. Shout out to Chris for an outstanding PC build

I only have positive things to say about J & B Computers! Jim and Kevin were overwhelmingly kind and supportive while helping me figure out what was wrong with my Dell Laptop. Their diligence showed through the way they immediately started looking into the issue within 5 minutes of my arrival. Then, Kevin stayed late after the shop closed just to help me out more, due to my finals that were occurring in the next few days. I really appreciate all the support they gave me throughout the process and their willingness to give numerous options to fix the issues with my laptop. This would be the first place I go if I ever have another issue with my laptop, the highest praise goes out to Jim and Kevin! Thank you so much.

Lately sdge has been having lots of power outages and this time my computer wouldnt power on and this computer powers my cnc machine so with out it I cant run my shop or access my files and I was in big trouble....I took it down to J&B COMPUTER and was greeted by the owner Jim and I explained how important this computer is to my shop...right away he did his very best to see what was wrong and thats when Kevin came to also see what they can do to fix it and before I knew it they had it back up and running and saved my files and got the computer up and running same day! and I was back in business cutting parts!! huge thanks to Jim and Kevin these guys know there stuff about computers and affordable prices. I will be taking all my computers to them for now on. thanks again guys!!!

Got my laptop keyboard fixed here a couple of months ago (I believe it was in July). I waited to write the review just in case there were any issues that came up. Well, Im super happy with the results and the performance of my laptop.Before coming to J&B, I went to another big name shop in San Marcos. They wanted to charge me around $150 more for the same service and when the guy tried to fix it on the spot, he made it WORSE! Needless to say, I didnt go back.I then came to J&B and the people were honest about the price and the time that it would take to fix it. They explained that getting the replacement part would take up to a month because they had to order it from China (my laptop model is hard to find replacement parts for).Overall, they were transparent and very helpful. Waiting for the part to arrive was what took the longest; once they had it, they fixed my laptop in no time.I highly recommend this shop. They are kind, honest, professional, and very informative.

Highest recommendation! Good quality, fast work. I took a 2015 MacBook in after a battery replacement (done by me) caused the trackpad to stop working. Kevin, the J&B Mac expert, had the problem diagnosed by the next day. After I approved the work they ordered the parts and it was fixed in one more day. No extra charges, no issues!This shop is honest, knowledgeable, and offers solid work for a very reasonable cost. Im glad we have such a good resource for computer repair in the area! (Fyi: they also work on Windows machines)

I don’t really write reviews! After traveling all day my new company laptop wouldn’t turn on. After trouble shooting several things my self. My friend looked up J & B Computers in San Marcos knowing I already had appointments scheduled in that area for the day and couldn’t imagine traveling for work and being without a computer. I sent them an email that night about it. I called when they opened dropped it off in between appointments. They sent me a text when it was fixed and up and running. The people were so genuine and fit me in even though they were busy. They fixed the issue and the bill was more than reasonable for what they had to do.Wow…good business and good people!Thx, Jeanette

I love supporting small businesses and try not to leave low rating reviews for small companies but I really need to voice my concern.They are Not proficient in macs/apples computers. Could not complete a backup on a laptop without an operable screen so I can sell the laptop for parts. I ended up just giving them my laptop because it was beginning to me more trouble then it’s worth. Instead of actually attempting to help me, The owner had no problem wiping my laptop clean so they could repair someone else’s laptop with the parts so THEY could make $.They are probably great with windows but the lack of leadership and macs is apparent.

A great honest resource that excels in customer service and fixing pretty much any computer issue without gouging you. I took my PC there 7 years ago and recently brought back the same PC a week ago for much needed hardware updating. Wonderful service. Although they didnt repair my laptop because it wasnt cost effective and Ill be purchasing a new laptop, the service they provided was excellent. They checked out my laptop free of charge and explained the problem, they even took out my hard drive so I could transfer it over to my new laptop. All I had to purchase was an external hard drive to make the transfer. If I ever have any issues with my new laptop, Ill be bringing it here!

Great people doing their absolute best for you at the lowest price possible. We have been using J&B computers almost exclusively for all our business and personal computer needs over 15 years. REMEMBER - these are computer guys, not slick salesmen. If they seem a little quirky, thats because they are. They care very much about getting you the best, lowest cost solution they can, and this may mean that they ask you a lot of questions first, because there are a lot of different solutions they can provide for you & a lot of different ways you can go. Again, THESE ARE REAL COMPUTER GUYS. Expect an experience that is different from (and way better than) your Best Buy experience. Be ready for a real, possibly in depth conversation about computer hardware and software options with someone who knows what they are talking about & has your best interests in mind. These guys will not overcharge you. They are as honest as the day is long.

Im very happy with the service I received from Jim, Andrew and Kevin they always give their very best to solve my computer problems. The price is always the most affordable. My computer survived the Windows 10 forced install, thanks to J&B Im back on track with my printers and software. I didnt want to upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 because I didnt think my computer could handle this but J&B got everything running again. I recommend them and after 12 years of doing business with them, they are the most honest and affordable by far. Great job!!!

The only place I will ever go for computer problems now. I am shocked by their honesty, helpfulness and efficiency. My laptop was having problems charging so I took it in. They did a free diagnostic and looked at everything, calling me back later that day. They told me my hard drive was also failing and it would be better for me to buy a new laptop than fix mine. They detailed all the costs associated with fixing mine and theyre right, a new laptop would be smarter. After telling me that, they gave me a great list of recommended laptops and answered all my questions. Even though I personally didnt pay for any of their services, I can tell they dont overcharge. They genuinely want to help and not just make a sale. When I went I only interacted with Kevin (I think that was his name) and he was so extremely helpful. Truly an asset to the company. Highly recommend this company.

Just OK place. Had a screen hinge replaced and battery while it was in for the screen...ended up being a motherboard problem, not necessarily a battery problem.Issue is, when taking the laptop apart at home to replace the mob...lots of missing screws in outer shell and motherboard (at least 7 in total) and cooling fans still really dirty. Clearly not caring or responsible with reassembly. Dont think Ill be going back...felt annoyed enough to sit down and type this out.

Kevin at J&B Computers was a pleasure to work with. I had a ton (well, maybe a terabyte) of unsaved material on a Surface that suddenly stopped working. I was afraid Id never recover the photos and documents. I took it in and was told there might not be a way to salvage the data, but they could try. And good chance the screen would break. Well, Kevin was able to retrieve my data and not break the screen (although it turned out the damage to the computer was not reparable). He put the data on an external hard drive. I realized once I looked it over that some photos did not make it, and he did another retrieval (they were in an unusual location) and got them for me at no additional cost. Very reasonable, they dont make promises they cant keep, and all in all an excellent experience. (Maybe I would not feel that way if my data hadnt been retrieved! But I appreciated the honesty and responsiveness.)

Their customer service is the best!I had to drop off my laptop yesterday that would not turn on and was ready by end of the day. We have a macbook pro with dead battery that was sitting there collecting dust for two years. Apple evaluated the machine and gave an estimate of $2000 to replace the main board, but we know the machine works, only the battery doesnt charge. We are fortunate to find J&B computers, and they got the computer fixed at 1/10 of the price and with great quality and speed.

My wife has a Dell all-in-one computer which was having a problem with the camera after a Dell service technician replaced the mother board. Call after call to Dell received no troubleshooting answers or a technician to come and fix it, so I took it to J & B and in less than an hour they had it fixed. I cant imagine why anyone would go anywhere else.

I have used this amazing computer repair service several times for different machine issues, always takes excellent care of the problem. Extremely professional techs with great advise and suggestions. They talked me into a SSD drive about 4 years ago after my mechanical drive failed. The absolute best advise I could have asked for. The machine was lighting fast after the installation.I bought a new laptop this week. Turned it on the first time and went crazy waiting for the mechanical drive to get with it. Took the new machine into J & B, and had them swap out the mechanical drive for a SSD. They moved all my programs and data to the new machine,I am back to work in a day and everything works perfectly.The only place to go in San Diego County!!

Brought in my PC with a corrupt windows 8.0 OS around 2:00 PM on a Thursday. The next day, they called me and provided detailed information on the problem and answered all of my questions. They worked on it Saturday and were closed on Sunday. By Monday, it was fixed and ready to go.
