The burger was ok. Personally I think hopdoddy has better burgers but that could be personal preference.The onion rings were very thin and extremely dry.However the french fries were absolutely perfect.

Lots of parking. Great location. It wasn’t too busy when we showed up, Tuesday around 1 pm. Waited about 10 minutes before getting seated.The front hostess was attentive, and professional. Our waiter Justin was great. He was quick, helpful, friendly, and accurate with our orders.The restaurant looked clean, well organized, cool surfer Hawaiian theme decorations. Atmosphere is very welcoming and cool.Our food was really good, tasty, fries were nice and crunchy. But, I am definitely not a big fan of their ranch dipping sauce. The waiter said that it is made in-house. But I just didn’t like it much, mostly the texture of it, it was runny like if it was watered down (This is NOT the case though). My wife liked it, it was just me.Overall… definitely a good place to eat. Also, check out their happy hour!

Great burgers! Slightly higher priced than the competition right next door, but MUCH BETTER. The hawaiian was drippingly good (bring your wet-naps) cooked perfectly medium as requested.The Kilauea wasnt as spicy as expected but still very good. Arrivedthere perfectly medium well as requested. The island reds (onion ring toppers) were crisply and sweet.Both orders will bring us back!

This is my favorite Islands location I have been to yet. A+ on the atmosphere and the food is always very good and consistent. Servers are nice and polite and everything comes out so timely. It’s clean inside and out. Wait times can be a tad long at rush hour but that’s expected. Liv, our usual waitress is very attentive and kind. Overall very satisfied and definitely recommend this location in particular. 🤙

This is a super cute place. The decorations are adorable. The outside and inside is very clean. The tv plays amazing surfing the entire time. We were seated right away because they were not very busy. Our waitress did not notice us so we sat there forever before she came to take our order. The people that came in well after us even had their food. It took about 40 minutes from the time we were seated to actually eat and at they point we were exhausted from our trip down there. I had the Yaki tacos and on the menu they sounded delicious but I would say they were just okay. The flavors did not blends well for me.

The service was great! The restaurant is a fun environment, and the lunch portions are perfect.Our server (Courtney) was the BEST! Her recommendations were spot on. We came to celebrate my daughter birthday, and the birthday dessert (the Kona Pie) was amazing.

After a long day of baseball and running around with the family, a nice tall beer is served chilly and delicious, I had the fried fish tacos (add hot sauce... Pico is my favorite to add) the wife gets the Kilauea burger almost every time we go.

We had a really nice dinner out. The food was really good and really well made. The staff are so nice and took care of us and the tables in their section. The desert brownie is with going in for. The price was really amazing considering how much food they serve you and the rewards app (which I forgot to scan my receipt - dont be like me) the design of the restaurant is pretty cool, we dont have islands in our hometown. Very Full and happy with our visit. We will come back and try the family meal thats a great offer.

We ordered delivery. The food was nasty, cold and messy. The forgot a side salad and the one we did receive had about 10 pieces of lettuce and two croutons. The yaki tacos were served on corn tortillas. I will never go back now that this has been my experience three times in a row.

Hate to blame the entire place because everyone seemed to be working in the front but the order took almost an hour. Multiple other customers also upset for waiting but there is really no excuse. If something causes these hold ups, the management needs to take responsibility but one of the customers complained to the manager and the manager just brushed him off. Ive never eaten at this location before but Im pretty sure I wont go again.Well, the regional manager responded to my review and asked me to contact her (Amy Alvarado) but didnt leave anyway for me to contact her. Kind of like how the manager just brushed all 5 of us upset customers off.Unless she is asking me to leave my phone number on the review?? I would think a manager would know better than to ask such a ridiculous question. I would never put my personal info, like a phone number, anywhere in public. And, Im pretty sure my closest 1000 friends in the food and beverage industry would agree.Its no wonder this place is poorly run. It all comes from the top.

Im surprised to read so many negative reviews. I moved to the area last summer. Islands is one of my top favorite restaurants because of their burgers and tempura beans. Ive been regularly coming over to this location, and I can see why people are so disappointed with the long wait time. As a former retail worker, I understand that being short on staff is no fun.Yes, it takes time to wait for the food. Yes, on weekends, you will have to wait to be seated. I guess its all a matter of preference. I never had any issues with the food. And Im ready to wait for good food.Ive had a takeout once, and it took some time as well. I prefer the dine in.

This is the 3rd time in a row my takeout order was cold and missing stuff.Order ID 13752154882031616 order placed 3:46pm. I ordered online while parked in the front of the restaurant. Website says itll be done at 4 04pm. I immediately called the restaurant to let them know Im out front and sitting in spot #2. As it was not busy there. Tables pretty full but no line waiting for a table.I called to check on order twice between 4pm and 4:20pm. Both times told still waiting on food. So I walked in to speak with the host, she said not ready. Walked in 15 mins later and spoke with a European accented manager, I presume due to his age. He went to look for the food said not ready yet and hell bring it out to me. At 4:37 he walked outside and gave me the food, as I waited in my vehicle.I get home less than a mile away, and everything is literally cold. Cold cold. No salad dressing to use. And by the way, this happened last week when I ordered a salad. They forgot the dressing then. And they forgot the fudge for my 2 lava cakes this time.Im so over the bad experiences. I wasted another $90 here. I recall when this store had QC.

Always a great experience at this location! The staff is always so attentive and helpful. Steve, the manager or GM, I believe was extremely kind checking in on us throughout our meal even though it seemed pretty busy. The bartender Daniel was very attentive and accommodating with me sampling the beers to find the right beer on tap. I was upset to hear that the fries were no longer bottomless but having the burgers be all natural and clean now will keep me coming back, along with the service. Thank you islands foothill!

The general manager Chad was amazing. Great guest service and extremely accommodating. I gave our server the wrong order and he swapped it out for me with no questions asked in under 2 minutes. I timed him! Will continue to come back as long as the guest service continues to be perfect as always!

I had an EXTREMELY unpleasant experience this evening with a Manager called Allen. I am a local resident of 26 years and have been a client on numerous occasions over the last Quarter Century. However this evening I was at the restaurant as an Independent Contractor as I was driving for DoorDash. I am a 5 star driver and my experience with Alan was humanly degrading and discriminatory. OUR Customers order was significantly delayed due to available resources in the restaurant. I asked to speak to a Manager and when I asked about the situation Allen was rude, dismissive, aggressive, insulting, insensitive and basically a jerk. As the Manager he failed to demonstrate any empathy, understanding or consideration with regard to this order that was to be delivered to a CUSTOMER.

5 out of 5 stars! We ate here this Monday night 7/12 and it was a fantastic time. Our server Daniel was amazing. He was very kind and attentive. Wife and I have been going to Islands for years. A good, casual Happy Hour menu although not a lot of table space in the bar area. Food is always excellent. Service good.Their vegetarian burger is quite good and their fries are amazing although we prefer ours without any salt. Just ask - theyll make them any way you want.Good people.

And on a Friday night none the less. Must have been a fluke, or perfect timing. Ask the staff was really friendly too. My only grip was that my burger was on the cold side. I would have asked to have it heated up, but I was starving.

Visited this restaurant many times in the past. This evening the parking lot was pretty quite. We stood at hostess desk for a few minutes before being greeted. Upon being seated, we noticed alot of people looking around which should have been a hint. It seemed the place was understaffed and people were waiting to place orders. drink refills and get their checks. We waited a bit to get our order in then get our food, having a hungry 6yr old with slow service was not ideal. Right down the street is a Red Robin which always has great service and our usual go to. But this time we decided Islands, next time we might think twice about Islands. FYI, I saw no manager walking around trying to pick up slack from being understaffed, which I have seen at other restaurants. Employees learn and only work as hard as their managers.

My wife is originally from Southern California, and she has been to Islands Restaurant before. We decided to go there for dinner since this particular restaurant is located close to where we live. We sat down, and it had to be about 10-15 minutes before a waiter came to take our order. We decided to get tacos. I had the Northside tacos. I have eaten tacos at many different places in California, but this was the first time I felt they were too salty. The island fries were excellent. I have always been a fan of skin-on fries.My slightly lower score is not about the service because once the waiter came, everything happened very quickly. I just would not go back there for the tacos.

Prices have gone up: $3.15 for a cherry coke in a plastic mug a bit smaller than I remember from 3 years ago. Fries are an add-on for burgers and are no longer endless. They appear to believe that everyone has a smartphone. There is a QR code on the table to get the menu and one on the paper bill to pay by phone. Food is still very good. Love that Kilauea burger!

Food and service were subpar at best. Server took too long to check back on us as we decided what to get for food (it was only two of us) and the nachos were nothing special at all. A ridiculous amount of cheese, lazily spread around unevenly and the guacamole looked like it had been sitting out for a while. I had a bad experience all around, everyone gave us dirty looks for reasons unknown, my girlfriend is Puerto Rican, so maybe that? The server called us to get our table and snorted and laughed in our face and just said “uh ok”, the food took incredibly long for just three simple orders, the waiters spoke slowly to us as if talking down to us and I listened in and they didn’t treat other tables like that, i was very uncomfortable the whole time I was there, definitely not coming back to this one which is unfortunate because as a surfer/skateboarder I always like going to establishments like this and Wahoos, where you’re supposed to feel welcomed.

Been a while since Ive been to an islands but the family had a craving so we went. 2 adults 1 teen and 1 toddler. Ordered a couple of burgers, soup, and grilled cheese for the little one, nothing difficult. Food came out in a timely fashion considering the Friday night dinner rush. However, all food came out except the grilled cheese. Waitress said its on its way out and dropped off some more fries for the wait. 15 minutes later, still no grilled cheese. Took another 5 minutes to flag the waitress down to ask her about it. She said she would check on it. After 25 minutes of waiting and the rest of the family almost done with their burgers, we flagged the waitress down again and asked that it just be put in a to go box and it would be great if it could be removed from the bill. She agreed and after another couple of minutes brought the bill and finally the grilled cheese. If this story wasnt sad enough, I decided to give the little one a bite of his grilled cheese while it was still warm before we left and saw the cheese was not melted at all. Two pieces of toasted bread with two slices of cheese slightly warmed by the bread. Needless to say I probably wont be back again for a while. Not just because of the starving child at my side, the sad excuse for a grilled cheese, subpar service, but also because the burgers were okay. The overall experience was just not good.

Great place to chill at. The cold glasses are whats up. Beer is cold and Good! The only negative thing is they allow children at the bar as long as they are accompanied by an adult. I tend not to have another beer because of this. Its weird drinking with kids at the bar. Makes it not enjoyable. Thanks!

With any chain youll experience some variability. This location is an excellent example of the islands chain. You know exactly what to expect, and can make your choice accordingly. I discovered Islands more than 25 years ago and am happy to report that the food is just as tasty, perhaps even more tasty, than it was years ago. My wife and I enjoyed burgers. She had a beef burger, and I had the best turkey burger I have ever had. The wheat buns are fresh and give nicer texture,snd taste than the plain white buns at most places.

Salad dressing was watered down, Manager said he would take care of it, then forgot about it, salad came back out, dressing was a little thicker but not much... still watery. Girlfriend was done eating her main course, and I hadnt even gotten my salad yet. Had to stop at Del Taco up the street so I could eat. Cant believe the manager has a job.
