This is a long overdue review! I had double vision issue for over 10 years and have seen numerous doctors both in the US and the UK, including the top ophthalmologists from UCI. No one but Dr. Elizabeth Shen found the root cause of the problem. She spent time talking to me to get a full understanding of the symptom history, then tried out various different vision prescriptions and tests without making any assumptions. I didnt have to go through any further unnecessary and costly tests. I am now no longer troubled by my vision issue and no longer worried Im losing my eyesight. I cant thank Dr. Shen enough!

Recently returned to Orange County and luckily discovered Irvine Eye Physicians. We have both seen Dr. Chia (son) and due to my dry eyes I am now seeing Dr. Shen. We are so pleased. The staff and doctors are fantastic. I just had IPL for my dry eyes by Dr. Shen and am so glad to know the practice is doing cutting edge treatments.

Dr. Li Li Chia is wonderful. Today my 10 year old daughter and I had our first visit with her and she was so pleasant and took the time for all my questions. She has many years of experience which is a plus!My older daughter saw her son, Dr. David Chia, the other day and was happy with the visit and how he taught her how to use contact lenses properly.

Dr. Chia is an excellent physician. They came recommended to me and I have been seeing them since the early 2000s. Always professional and kept my sight good. I had an emergency on the weekend and he dropped everything and saw me within 30 minutes. I cant say enough good things about this practice, both doctors are excellent.

Dr. Chia is the sweetest doctor I’ve ever met! I took my 2 month old baby to get her eyes checked and Dr. Chia was so attentive and careful! She was very through with all the details and showed me how to clean her eyes. I left her office wishing I had an eye problem so she could be my doctor too! Dr. David Chia is the absolute BEST!!! He is incredibly knowledgeable and personable. Ive had significant eye issues most of my life and seen several ophthalmologists over the years and Dr. Chia is by far the best. Everyone is so friendly. The techs are prompt and efficient. I like that they dont take the time to try and chit chat. Very clinical, gets you in and out. Dr Chia does take the time to chat with you like an old friend, I only see him once every year, but he always has a smile on his face and is genuinely happy to see you.

Both doctors, the mother and son are always a delight to see for my eye appointments. They are always compassionate, empathetic, and have a sense of humor. The admin staff is always professional and informative as well. I recently had an emergency and they were able to squeeze me in that day. I was so thankful. And while I was in the waiting room, I saw the admin staff do their best to find room for a moms sons checkup even though their daughter was the only one scheduled to make things easier for the mom!

I will try writing my comment again, as it just disappeared. You scheduling was very poor yesterday, as I had to wait foo long with too many people in your waiting room and elsewhere. Dr. David Chia is wonderful, and I am sure he would like for you to use more caution. One woman barely slid by me as she took her chair. I will be 89 years in a couple of months and I stay away from people as much as possible. I think you should use more care also. I must have the first appointment after lunch next years for my annual. Thank you.

Ive been in the care of both Doctors Chia for over a decade and they have always provided the utmost care and professionalism. Having suffered two detached retinas, cataract surgery and related vision adjustments, I feel such confidence in their expert advise and care I wouldnt consider going to another ophthalmologist. Dr. David Chia is great! Did both of my cataract surgeries. He later broke up scar tissue that allowed me to once again see clearly, with my prescription.Just had my annual 2022 exam. Dr. Chia does a comprehensive exam and explains things in a clear and concise manner. I will continue to see him going forward.

I was having an issue with my right eye. There was redness, pain, tearing and cloudy vision. Dr. Chia was able to see me right away. The next day he also did a follow up exam to make sure things were progressing in the right direction going into the weekend. He provided me with excellent care!

If youre looking for the best eye care, this is a doctor you shouldnt put off seeing! How lucky was I to find Dr. David Chia? For those who have never heard of him, Dr. Chia is perhaps the best eye physician I have ever encountered. From the very beginning of my appointment, he was fully engaged providing me with a very lucid description of why I have been experiencing a myriad of challenges with my left eye. One of the most impressive qualities, is his thoroughness in providing natural methods of care albeit in an allopathic setting. In other words, if you need surgery, he will go there, but hes not going to push that course unless its valuable or necessary.I like that. I am SO grateful to have found Dr. Chia. He suggested a different contact lens that has COMPLETELY changed my quality of life. I have severe dry eye and couldnt keep my contacts in past five pm on most days due to the pain and the sticking of the lens to my eye. Dr. Chia suggested a new lens and I can 1.) SEE so much more clearly and 2.) No longer have dry eyes. He also let me know that I can use my daily contact lenses for a few days in a row as long as I use the appropriate solution and container. He directed me where to go/find these items through the whole process.Id been to another Eye Dr. for this situation and he was not able to pinpoint how to help me after 2-3 visits. Dr. Chia, with his fast and effective diagnosis, was able to help immediately. So so grateful. Ill be back! Hes an expert.

He is honest, straightforward, transparent, and practical, which is what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist in the OC area. His website is easy to navigate and use to make appointments, which adds convenience. His office is up to date on office technology as well as clinical technology, which is reassuring. The front desk receptionists and assistants could probably be a little warmer in their customer service, but that doesn’t have much to do with Dr. Chia - it’s probably just their personalities.

I made three new patient appointments for my husband, myself and my daughter. I went over our eye and medical insurance in detail over the phone and gave them our member numbers and was assured that they took both our medical and vision insurance. I also checked online with the insurance to make sure this provider was in network. When we arrived at the appointment, after me and my husband taking the afternoon off from work, we were told that they no longer took our insurance and the receptionist was completely rude and unapologetic about it. I understand that things happen and mistakes can be made but she was so rude and uncaring we knew that this would not be a good fit for our family. I have since read some other reviews and others have had the same problem.

As always, a very pleasant trip, worth a long drive from MdR.My entire family have been seeing Dr. Lili Chia for more than 22 years... wow time really flies. We used to live in Irvine, then weve been living abroad in Asia and Europe for the past 6 years. Every year we came back to LA and made appointments to visit Dr. Lili Chia and/or Dr. David Chia is like part of our family back home routines, so walking into their office feeling like visiting old friends or family... so exciting.Dr. Lili Chia is the most professional individual weve ever experienced, always takes time w/gracious manner and patiently explains and reminds us everything, also compares any difference to the past, so down to earth, she also has such a good memory about the family members which is just sooooo amazing... regardless shes very busy and well-known in the community which really made her as the top ophthalmologist.Were also very happy to see Dr. David Chia joined the group since a few years ago, David is also extremely professional and personal, just like his mom, so unbelievable... I had cataracts in both eyes and went to have an exam with Dr. David Chia on the recommendation of a work friend. I went with his suggestions to have a Panoptix trifocal lens replacement in both eyes over a one week timeframe. It made sense since your brain has to go through the process of adjusting to the lens and determining which part it needs to use to focus for your near, middle and far sight. DrChia made the experience very comforting. He answered all my concerns and walked me through the process of what to expect on the day of the surgery as well as what I needed to do afterwards.It was a painless and successful surgery in which I was pleased with the outcome. I can highly recommend Dr. Chia to anyone who needs to have an IOL lens replacement.

The care this office provides starts at the front office and extends throughout the visit. They adhere to covid19 guidelines including clean and used pens separated. The office has the paperwork ready before and after seeing the doctor. The doctor takes the time to make sure all of your concerns are addressed. I would drive miles to have my eyes checked by this office! Highly recommend.

All the staff in the office are patient, professional and friendly. That is rare for a doctors office. Usually you would encounter one or two that are grumpy and u happy at their jobs. This tells me that the doctors treat them right and it reflects right back at the customer service level. I came in for a new patient visit and it was a great experience. My exam was thorough by the doctors and I asked many questions which they were not hesitate to answer. The brunette in the front desk was great with cofirming my insurances and Francesca in glass fitting is gifted! I’m the type where I never find frames that I like and she found me both sun glasses and eye glasses in 15 mins. Something that I struggled with for a decade and for the first time I felt confident with wearing glasses. Overall, I highly recommend it if you need to find an optometrist.

Both Dr. Li Li Chia and Dr. David Chia are phenomenal doctors. They care tremendously about their patients and their eye health. 15 years ago I was experiencing aura in my vision and had seen other ophthalmologists who treated me like I was crazy. I was prepared to wait for a long time after seeing all the other reviews. The wait time was not bad. I had low expectations and was not surprised by anything. Dr. David Chia was excellent and thats all I came there for. Funny enough, I never thought my eyes were dry and I went to the office for a surgery consultation. Dr. Chia gives genuine and helpful advice. I took the sheet of paper he gave me with all the eye care information and purchased a bottle of eye drops from CVS last night. My eyes woke up feeling the most moist I have ever been for years! It only occurred to me then that my eyes have been super dry for a long long time, so long that I dont even notice it anymore. I recommended my husband to go there for contact lens fitting after my visit since he doesnt like his current office. Again, I love a doctor that had the patients best interest in mind and is not there just to sell products. He also gave me his recommendation of a specialist for the surgery I came there for. The best result matters to me as much as to him, which I really appreciate. I am going to take better care of my eyes. After all, I wear contacts every day for over 12 hours.

I went there for a specific issue I was having with my eyes, which had already been diagnosed by my optometrist, but I wanted a second opinion.I saw Dr. Li-Li Chia, and she did not even ask why I was there for an appointment. She started prescribing me contacts, which is not what I was there for. I told her I was not there for contacts, because the eye issue I have actually prevents me from wearing contacts. She proceeded to continue to prescribe me contacts and didn’t listen to me when I verbalized that again, I was not looking for contacts.She prescribed something for the issue I was having, but didn’t even look at my eyes for more than 15 seconds.In comparison to the optometrist I’ve been seeing, he looks at my eyes with a high level of detail and dyes to look at this issue. Dr. Chia did none of that.Very disappointed, a big waste of time. Do not recommend.

I came to the office to share a concern I had with my newly purchased glasses and I was faced with Grace and her argumentative demeanor. She is by far the rudest person I have ever spoken to. Dr. David Chia saw me for an eye emergency which might have resulted in permanent vision damage or loss. I had a very rare drug reaction which caused me to have Acute Closed Angle Glaucoma - which comes on suddenly and is very dangerous if not treated immediately. I was in the Emergency Room over the weekend where I was diagnosed, treated to stabilize the pressure in my eyes and discharged with orders to see an Ophthalmologist first thing Monday morning. Dr. Chia was my moms doctor and he identified the cause quickly and began my treatment immediately. I had to see him every day for the first week to ensure the pressure in my eyes remained safe. He told me it would take a week for my vision to improve and 2-3 weeks for it to be completely restored. Dr. Chia did extensive research after my first visit to find out the best treatment course for this rare condition and indeed, my vision was much improved within a week and now, at 2 weeks its almost fully restored. The front office staff is not as well coordinated or informed but small price to endure for the highly skilled medical treatment I needed to save my vision.
