A desert adventurers oasis. Many a weary Stagecoacher and adventure rider take comfort at the Iron Door. The crew here are some of the most thoughtful folks making sure youve got a cold soda or beer (or both) and a hot pizza in your belly before rolling out. On a recent desert tour I rolled into the Iron Door and found it open with a crockpot of ham hocks and beans at 11am on Christmas day. And you can count on the crew to give you some good trail beta and other intel. After a tough slog through the washes, this is one stop you dont want to miss.

I grew up in the area as a kid of a motocross professional and I remember this being a fun kind of community atmosphere. Not so much now. Beer and wine only bar? However the good looking bartender did pull out a very delicious strong aged in a whisky barrel best tasting ale Ive honestly ever had. It was delicious. Let them know kats beer snob kid sent you...

Rode my bike through the desert to get here and felt very welcomed. Owner and staff super friendly. The frozen pizzas were acceptably delicious given the circumstances. Glad they had a hazy on tap. Met a friendly bunch of locals as well.

🍺 The iron door 🍺is a little bar out in the desert. Friendly people lots of character!... Hell yeah just like I remembered it in the 80s. If youre lucky you may see ELVIS there. Nice pit stop for a cold beer with the boys. BEER AND WINE ONLY. Limited food.

Great stop if youve been offroading all day. Grab a drink and a pizza. They get busy and overwelmed during peak offroading days. Only two pizza ovens i think so if younhave a large group you may wait a bit for all yhe food.

Way back in the 90s i walked into that bar with a $5 bill. i got a beer and 4 quarters and i won every rack on the pool table till closing. people even bought me beers all night.It was the best bar experiance i ever had. i left at 2 am and i still had 2 quarters in my pocket.

What attracted me was the old wood look with a dirt parking lot. It seemed like a place was where I could tie my horse out front and enjoy a cold beer. This place was everything I expected it to be and much more. Its a dive bar with no hipster vibes or hipster beer (which is a good thing, in my opinion). You get good conversations with the locals and the owner, but also good cheap cold beer. I also bought several shirts to bring home and give to my family.

If you like a classic dive bar and you find yourself in the desert, Iron Door is your place. Its an oasis in the middle of nowhere, with frankly no real competition within 100 miles so if youd like a beer in a glass at a bar, this is your only option. There are always an eclectic mix of Ocotillo Wells locals and people just out for the day running around in the sand. The beer is cold, the chips are bagged, and the pizza is surprisingly good for pre-made.Its just what you need after a dusty day tearing it up in the desert.

I remember when the Iron Door opened in 1970, and I had to sit on the bench, outside while my folks celebrated the grand opening...thirty years later, I worked there, absolutely the most fun Ive ever had at work. Today, the Iron Door is cleaner than Ive ever seen it, and they still have the coldest beer in the desert....

Rudest people ever! The waitress gave us attitude right off the bat, rolling her eyes. We may not be locals, but you should treat everyone with respect if you want people to come spend money at your bar. Our friends that went in 30 min before us said the same thing. Theyre lucky we didnt walk out...... not going back
