I had to bring my kitty on a Sunday for an emergency visit. I live in Citrus Heights and every single place I called closer to my house had a minimum 3 hour wait. I called Insight and they said at the time it was an hour wait, which was fantastic bc I also had my 3 kids with me. The office is modern and very, very clean with a large waiting area. The office staff was very friendly and professional. Within 20 minutes of arriving, a tech came to the waiting area, asked me the important questions, and took my kitty to see the vet. The vet came out shortly, explained what was going on with her and the typical tests done for this, but since he had a good idea of what the problem was and it was a first for her, he suggested the least costly option which I very much appreciated. He had an amazing bedside manner and is clearly a cat person! I was so impressed with this place that I filled out the paperwork to become a patient there for all my cats (I have 4).

Emergency care for our furry family members is never a good time. My sweet kitty Mama Cat was in need of emergency care and having the excellent service, care & teamwork from Insight Veterinary Wellness Center (IVWC) in this time of urgent need, made all the difference!What looked like a possible multi-day hospitalization, with the unfortunate possibility of her demise, turned into joy when Mama Cat was cleared for release after a little over 24 hours & in a greatly improved condition!By the grace of God and the excellent care & support of the team at IVWC, Mama Cat is alive, at home & getting stronger each day.

We have been clients at Insight for my four fur babies for about 4 years now. And we have always have a very pleasant experience. A few weeks ago my 14 year old fur baby had his last visit. I had to make the gut wrenching decision to end his suffering and send him across the rainbow bridge. But through it all the staff was so supportive and caring. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for the kind words and the support through one of the hardest days of my life. And thank you for the wonderful card you mailed with my baby’s prints. It meant the world to my broken heart.

They helped us get our cat cleared for international travel when no else would. All other vets would say its too complicated, so much they wouldnt even attempt it. At insight they dove in without hesitation. Thank you so much for your help and for the love you showed our family member!

Very friendly and helpful with excellent prompt help for your sick pet, 24/7, because honestly, how often does your critter decide to get sick or hurt themselves when its convenient. Curbside service, so you call when you get there and they come out to greet you, eliminating the stuffy, sick pet filled waiting room. The only downside is that youd better be up on your heart meds when you get the bill, because with this great service comes quite the high price tag. Would easily give 5 stars if it hadnt cost a short vacation for a couple hours of treatment. Im sure the cost is representative of the expenses they must have to maintain the quality staff and level of service, but it still hurts a bit. Guess I save on the chiropractor, because my wallet is much lighter!

Had a middle of the night emergency and they were able to get us in earlier than expected, because their doctor got out of surgery. The fact that they called us and let us know that saved us from driving even further to get help. The staff was kind, professional, and efficient.

This place is amazing, pretty sure you can eat off the floor. Not a dog/cat hair to be found anywhere. Needless to say this place is spotless. The vets are professional and full of knowledge. I won’t take my puppies anywhere else.

I am not one to ever have the motivation to write a negative review.Took my doberman pup there this morning (Sunday) for a lame foot. Obviously taking a pet in you know you are into a situation where the vet bill will be painful. So I was certainly not expecting to leave there without paying what I needed to.I will say the offices are clean and the staff is friendly; kudos. However, even for EDH, the pricing/charges for this vet are INSANE for non-emergency related issues. The one potential charge that has me most concerned is their Dog CPR charge. This vet wants you to either pay between $1600-$2000, or waive the right for them to perform CPR. This was not an issue I was necessarily concerned to happen in our case, but this is just completely predatory. I searched and could not find ANY vet that charges anywhere close to this (highest I found was $350).Placing pet owners in a decision to either potentially let their pet die or be charged this ridiculous amount is immoral.If you can take your pet somewhere else, I would. Otherwise, you are paying 50% more for services to pay for their unnecessary electric kiosks and decorative decor.

We waited 8 hours for them to tell us all this stuff about how my cat was gonna get really sick & die if we didnt rush to get a spay. We got the spay a little less than a week later & the Dr said there was no enlargement of the uterus, no fluid. My cat wasnt gonna die. It was $95 for spay & rabies vaccine & nail trim at the place I went. Here they were trying to charge 5k+ for an emergency surgery knowing it was the weekend & we would have to wait, nearly scaring us into the surgery. I dont know what their intentions were but Im not very sure they have the animals best interest at heart. Also one lady was very loud and couldnt answer any of our questions. However, there was a sweet lady who we spoke to the very last few minutes we were there. She came onto the case late but was really nice.

I took my dog here for an emergency when she had a cancerous tumor rupture on her spleen. Unfortunately, due to the fast progression and the nature of her injuries, I had to euthanize her. The doctor and staff were very compassionate, and helped me run through all the options before it came to that. They were honest when it came to providing their professional opinion and what would financially make sense, and what would not, to prolong her life and consider her quality of life as well. This was the worst day of my life, by far. The staff here answered all my questions, gave me special time with her, and were very quick with the process of running her tests and attending to her every need. While I hate that I couldn’t save my best friend, I take comfort knowing that this place did everything they could for us.

We came upon Insight during an emergency for our beloved 12 almost 13 year old fur baby. She had a laundry list of health issues but she had been doing good. Then all of a sudden, she was not herself. We tried to contact our normal vet but unfortunately they were closed due to the holiday week. We called & scheduled an emergency appointment with Insight. They got her in within an hour and a half. She was immediately taken in & we provided all the details, plus her medication information. Dr Kody returned awhile later & updated us that due to all of her prior health issues, that he suspected she had possibly thrown / or was going to throw a blood clot. He said they could do a ultrasound which they did. It revealed she had many more issues we could have never seen. He was worried a blood clot would pass if we went home & would cause her a great deal of pain. We had to say goodbye that night to our princess. We are so incredibly grateful & thankful for the kind staff, how honest they were & how they were respectful during the whole process. They allowed us to hold her & wait outside for family to arrive to say goodbye before coming back inside. Which really meant a lot. They walked us through the whole process & truly were great staff. I know that PupPup lived a long very loved life, and I know she was cared for & respected in her final moments. Dr Kody treated her as if she was one of his own. With love & grace. Absolutely lovely staff and facility. This was the first time I had taken a pet to the emergency vet. My cat wasnt going to the bathroom and I immediately knew he was blocked since he had a UTI before. Im extremely appreciative of Dr. Overton and the staff working out a plan for me. I had a limit on my debit card and since banks are closed on the weekends, I was unable to pay the initial estimate. Fortunately, the vet tech/assistant (cannot remember his name for the life of me) and Dr. Overton were patient and really helped work something out with the limit I had. They did recommend I have him stay for a couple of days, but due to funds, I couldnt. They were extremely transparent and thorough about the risks, instructions, etc which I highly took into consideration. My baby was back home in my arms no time. I brought him here a little before 5pm and had him back home 12am. Its been a couple days now and hes doing great. I have been calling the staff quite a bit with questions and concerns and they have been very patient and helpful. I do wish it was closer, but the drive was 100% worth it.

First, all the staff were pleasant. However, you only need to walk through the door to know that profits are all they care about. We may have been able to forgive the ridiculous fees if they had been clinically competent, but they were not. The technician came out to take a history and wrote nothing down. Her follow up questions clearly indicated that she did not understand the history. She then took my pet to be examined by the vet and came back saying they needed to do a $600 X-ray. When questioned about what the differential diagnosis was and how an X-ray could rule in or out different conditions and how it would guide treatment, she was unable to answer. The standard care here is that you do not actually get to talk to the vet until after you have paid for testing. We insisted on talking to the vet who very clearly did not understand the symptoms and history and wasnt really interested in getting the real story. She just wanted to sell imaging and procedures. Later they called to say that they needed to sedate my pet for the X-ray and blood draw, which cost about $400. And they said they even tried to muzzle her and couldnt. It was very clear to us that they had mishandled our pet and caused her pain and probably wanted the extra profits from sedating her. I am very suspicious that most people get this call and this is all about making more money. At the end of it all, the tests found nothing (which was why we had balked at these tests as they didnt really make sense - we are medical professionals so we understand these things). And the vets diagnosis was that maybe she just doesnt like her belly touched. Because that clearly explains vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, no appetite, abdominal swelling, and severe pain. That was not even the end of it but I will spare you the details. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else. Most veterinary clinics these days do make accommodations for urgent issues for existing patients. I regret not waiting the extra 2 hours for my regular vets office to open but my pets health had significantly deteriorated over night and she was in intense pain and I didnt want to wait. Very expensive lesson learned.

Thank you to all the amazing staff at this place for working one of the hardest jobs on earth and still finding the energy to be compassionate and personable. They cared for our Daisy during an emergency situation and handled her care expertly. We witnessed front desk staff being berated multiple different times by clients for things that were completely out of Insights control - so, please remember to be kind. We were watching my sons indoor cats while he was out of the country. One of the cats caught his tail on the blind cords and was hanging ( stuck ) while playing with me for a few seconds and he had a large kink in his tail. We called insight and they got us in fairly quick. They told us on the phone he may need X-rays and in some cases amputation so we were fully prepared however after Dr Tran examined him she said he’s not that bad and sent us home with some pain meds. He was back to himself within 24 hours. We won’t take our cats and dogs anywhere else, we’re customers for life.

Update: We have a new puppy and because we were so happy with our experience with our senior Chihuahua, we now take our puppy to Insight for all her preventative exams and vaccines. The puppy wellness packages are a very excellent value and we also LOVE the weekly puppy playtime. All the vets and staff we’ve interacted with have been great. ************I brought my senior Chihuahua here for emergency services on the recommendation of my regular vet’s office, as they were totally booked and unable to accommodate an emergency. The office was socaring and informative. Every staff member I spoke with was incredibly professional and I could not have asked for better care. I know that things are challenging right now in all aspects of healthcare, and veterinary care hasn’t been spared the stresses of the pandemic. I am so appreciative of this office for being there when I needed them and taking such great care of my dog.

During this emergency of my puppy, I don’t think I could’ve found a better vet to take care of him. They were very professional, but also gave a very loving helpful hand during times of panic. Not many vets give the impression of actually caring about yours, and your pets well being. But this vet not only treated my fur baby as if he was their own, but treated me as if I was apart of their family.

My dog was seen for emergency around 9:30 pm as my regular Vet was already closed. Bella had surgery that morning and was bleeding from her stitches later in the evening. The staff was very nice to Bella my lovable pittie and they explained to me what I should expect after her surgery. They provided me with peace of mind. Bella is healing nicely now :)

Kind and compassionate, the staff really take the time to explain and listen and work with their pet parents to achieve the best possible outcome. My Fancy visited them yesterday, and is showing signs of improvement already; Im so glad to have this great wellness center within easy driving distance!My kitty Taco also visited earlier this year, and I think its quite likely that they saved his life. The worst experiences with a clinic I have ever had. Took our dog in for an emergency appointment (we had already established care with this clinic, we were not new). The doctor on duty couldn’t tell me what was wrong so he ran blood work. While waiting for the results I took him somewhere else and immediately they diagnosed him with heart failure. They called two weeks later with the results. When I told her his diagnosis she said nothing except “ok, do you need anything else from me.” No bed side manner, rude, and on top of that they nickel and dime you for everything. Our pets are our family and they should be treated as such by the experts that are supposed to be giving them medical care.

My dog had a bowel obstruction. It was on. Saturday. I had called around for over 3 hours trying to get him in to see a doctor and NOBODY would take him in!! Insight was able to get my baby in right away! They saved my dogs life! They performed the surgery right away. Dr. Overton and her team were the most caring, loving and supportive people I have ever met ❤️ They took care of Bentley and loved him as of he was their own. They called me twice a day with updates. I was informed every step of the way. Thank you so much for the amazing care you provided not only to my bay but to me as well. I would rate 10 stars if I could!

Insight was amazing when we went through one of the most difficult times we could imagine. Our young dog suddenly fell ill and we rushed her up to Insight for emergency treatment. The staff there was so kind, supportive and non judgmental. They handled us with kit gloves and took care of our girl all while being very honest and forthcoming about treatment, expectations and costs. We eventually had to make a very hard choice to put her down and they were so caring and amazing during the most difficult time. We are grateful for Insight and can’t recommend them enough. It’s taken me a couple months to write this as we have been devastated with the loss of our Lacey.

Everything went great besides One concern is that i brought my bearded dragon in and they trimmed her nails way too short and is causing her discomfort. So DO NOT have your beardy’s nails trimmed when you visit this place. Easily can do it myself next time without hurting my little baby.

Christina was exceptional and Archie is doing well!His ear swelling is already reduced greatly. He actually likes the taste of the medication but dislikes the provided syringe. 😅I want to express my gratitude in how he was handled as well as how I was treated. My anxiety was through the roof due to my recent loss of Bernard, my mind was on worst case scenario. I was put at complete ease when I could visibly see that he was in loving and healing hands.Thank you so much. I will forever be grateful of your kindness during this time. Your entire team helped both of us immensely. Even though your facility is a bit far from home I will always return to it for my pets care. Exclusively.The accommodation of payment date just pushed my decision home. Bring a few credit cards. It’s great they are 24 hours and when it’s needed they are a blessing. Expect to pay 24 hour prices all the time even with an appointment. They are outrageously more expensive than any other places. $75 for basic check up. Other places are $60. They charge $300 to put down a cat, double what other places charge, and no that doesn’t include getting the ashes.

My 7 lb chihuahua had injured her eye while I was out of the house and it was getting increasingly worse so we had to go to the ER. Our usual emergency ER had to close to due to full capacity, which is happening more and more in these chaotic times. So we tried Insight and they saw us right away, which was absolutely incredible. We were treated so very kindly, I felt heard and respected. These are important factors in my being able to trust a doctor and I was impressed. Two days later Winnie is doing much better, swelling is gone and she’s almost back to her perky self. I am very grateful.

Took my cat in who was drooling and was told it was from nausea. Took him home with pain meds and an appetite stimulant and was told they couldnt find any one source of pain. When I go to give the cat pain meds there is an exposed root that smells rotten in his mouth. This place is not thorough and charged me over $700 and my cat is in even worse pain than when I brought him in. I will not take any of my my pets here ever.

I took our big guy Mac in on a Saturday because he just wasn’t feeling good. His usual vet is our daughter but she’s in Truckee. She had heard good things about Insight. They were so caring and accommodating and Mac even smiled for them. We will continue to be patients here, it’s a very nice facility.

We had a good experience here over a life/death situation of our dog. She collapsed almost suddenly and wasn’t eating/drinking. Insight admitted her on a Saturday afternoon right away. Front staff was helpful in accommodating and answering questions. Dr Behnke was responsible in taking care of our dog so I can’t speak for any other Drs/vet techs. She called to get our pre-approval on any type of care that was given including labs. She thought that our dog was going into kidney failure but after some tests she realized it was an electrolyte imbalance which pointed towards Addison’s disease. Our dog was well taken care of in the hands of Dr. Behnke. She was a great Dr and a great communicator and really cared for our pup. Our girl was discharged in a few days with medication and back to her usual self. We followed up with our vet within 24hrs per their guidelines.I do have to add that the front desk messed up on billing and they do make you pay upfront regardless of insurance to be able to treat your pet. If you can’t pay, they have a high APR payment plan. Our total cost was around $3600 for labs, xrays, fluids, medication, boarding and care.Pictured is our girl enjoying a plain in n out burger as a post treatment treat 💕

I’m leaving this review on behalf of my sister because she is way too nice and would just let this go… but something needs to be said about the staff and how they treat the people who bring in their beloved animals to be cared for by this facility.She brought in her puppy for an emergency visit. They recommended keeping him overnight for observation but she chose to do the outpatient treatment instead. They quoted $1500-$2000 for overnight. Which is a lot of money. She wanted to see if maybe he would start to feel better. And for a day or so he seemed like he was. A few days later her pup started pooping blood and vomiting. So she brought him back in. They pumped him full of fluids and again recommended keeping him overnight. This time quoting $2200. She had already scheduled an appointment with her primary vet for that afternoon. So she wanted to have him checked out by the doctor she already knows and trusts first. When her primary vet recommended she take him back to insight for overnight observation, she called to tell them she would bring him back down.This is where I have an issue. Whoever she spoke to on the phone at this point, needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. If the customer is calling to tell you that they are bringing their dog back after you’ve quoted them $2200. That means they are agreeing to pay the fee. Her dog is her life and she would do anything for him. She just wanted a second opinion first. Rightfully so… after reading so many bad reviews about how insensitive and money hungry this place is. (Some of the reviews are despicable btw.) The girl on the phone responded with, “Well according to our records you clearly declined our services for financial reasons.” To which my sister said, “that’s not at all what I said. $2200 is a lot of money so yeah I wanted to get a second opinion first. I had the appointment scheduled with my primary vet already and I wanted their opinion. They recommended having him observed overnight. Do you know how rude you sound?!”My sister took her dog elsewhere and he’s doing much better.I understand not wanting to take clients unless they can pay their bill. There are other more professional and polite ways to word it though. I would be happy to give you a couple examples….“Hi. Yes. I am looking at your record right now. I do want to let you know that we will have to require a deposit for the $2200 upon arrival. Is that ok?!” Or “we are so sorry you are going through this with your poor pup. Especially during the holidays. We don’t want this to come as a surprise but we will need to collect the $2200 upon dropping off your pup.” Literally any other way of wording it would’ve been better. How belittling and condescending could you be? When she’s already beyond stressed about her poor dog.She was ready to pay up. But because the staff clearly has zero regard for anyone else, she lost the business not just the $2200 for this visit … but also any future business from our 5 dogs combined. We will also not be recommending this business to any of our friends/family/clients either for that matter. No wonder there are so many one star reviews. I’m sure the doctors are great. Unfortunately the receptionist cost you any business from us. We both work in the customer service industry. I work in the pet industry. This would never be an appropriate response in ANY situation. Train your staff better. Or let them go.

We came to Insight on a Sunday morning when our cat was in critical condition. The doctor who was attending to our cat was compassionate, informative, and realistic with our cat’s prognosis. We were able to say goodbye to him in a special room which was such a nice touch. The staff was caring and I could tell that our cat was in good hands throughout the entire process. We even received a card with our cat’s paw prints. Beautifully thoughtful. We were grateful to be able to go to such a clinic outside of regular business hours. Thank you Insight for the care.

Great staff super friendly! If anything happens to my dog again we most certainly are going there!!! We called around to 4 other vet hospitals in the area and the estates they gave me were a minimum 1k more for a procedure. Some of those places were very rude, I mean I didnt mean for my dog to eat a bundle of hair ties why are you lecturing me? but not insights! Be prepared for longer wait time as they are short staffed but what they got working now is awesome. Again cant be happier that they saved my little man oliver.

My dog has been limping on and off for some time. I suspected a CCL tear. I brought him to Insight Veterinary Wellness Center. He was sedated for the x-ray. The diagnostic from the x-ray wasnt clear so I called back for more information. I was told that the diagnostic was misread by the vet. I asked whether or not the drawer test was done on my dog since this is the best test to confirm CCL tear. The vet said she has small hands and didnt do it. There were many other big hands in the clinic that could have helped. It would have been really easy to do since my dog was heavily sedated. After $600 spent, there was no conclusive diagnostic.I decided to have a second opinion. The other vet was so much more professional. The drawer test was executed right in front of me without sedation. The x-ray was also done without sedation. Within 10 minutes, I had a clear diagnostic; it is a CCL tear.Im very disappointed in Insight Veterinary Wellness Center. They are focused in inflating the bill as much as possible and seriously lack professionalism.Although they were all friendly people, I will never come back.

This place sucks!!! They are more worried about getting money than they are saving animals! $1200 resuscitation fee! They did an awful job putting my shih tzu’s eye back in, didn’t get the lids lined up and closed with the outter lid and now his eye isn’t in all the way! Aftercare recommendations were horrible! For your pets sake go somewhere else for emergency care!!!

My 17 year old cat Badger started seizing due to renal failure and I had to rush him in around 4:30 am. They were very kind and did everything they could but he was just too sick and I had to let him go. It was the hardest thing I have ever done but even though I was so devastated, they took the time to help me through it.Thank you...I miss him so much

We had an amazing experience with Insights Dr. Behnke, Dr. Wahlen, and staff. Our dog, Atlas, was staying with our in-laws and was brought in at the beginning of a cluster seizure event. He stayed with Insight for a number of days. Since we were not physically there, communication is 10x more important and they were truly wonderful to work with. They told us when they would call with updates, when doctors would rotate, and if any major event occured. We were also encouraged to call anytime we wanted to check-in (so nice to know you arent a bother)! The front desk staff was so pleasant whenever I called and have been so easy to work with. Atlas is doing great and I know he was well cared for during his hospitalization. Not only did they get Atlas through his seizures, but they gave us some more tools and contacts to help with Atlas epilepsy! If we lived here, we would make this our regular vet! Thank you so much!

Had to use the Urgent Care for my pup as he split a toe nail way back and nerves were exposed causing him pain. They got him in and took very good care of him, he was back to his normal antics in a few days. Staff was very caring and explained what needed to be done. Highly recommend them, this will be his new primary care going forward. 👍

We had to unfortunately say goodbye to our fur baby and due to the fact that it was a weekend, we chose to take him to Insight. They made the entire process as comfortable as possible. I basically have 2 vets, one near my home that is a chain type of facility, I’ve taken my dogs to this vet for many years. I’ve always had good care with them and it’s convenient for me. When Covid happened I couldn’t get into the vet at all with out an expensive trip their emergency clinic. So I called Insight and they could see my pup that day! This was a major game changer! I’ve compared the prices of services and they are very similar. Our almost 2 year old Labradoodle swallowed a toy fish. We called today Sunday and a holiday weekend and they told us to come right down. We were seen within 20 minutes and they took our pup back. Within about 30 minutes they called us that they were going to induce vomiting. And seriously about 15 minutes later they called to tell us she puked the toy up. So impressed with not only how fast they were but how friendly and kind they were to our puppy and us. They are truly a great place and now we are going to switch our primary vet to them. Insight Vet is amazing. Two weeks ago I had to bring my cat in two days in a row. We seen Dr. Aguilar both times and she was so sweet. She went over every test with us, explained it so we could understand the test results. My cat was diagnosed with epileptic seizures.Last night we were back into the ER with another cat. He was 12 years old and he diagnosed with Saddle throbsis. This is a incurable disease a blood clot broke and went into his spine and caused his back legs to be paralyzed and they legs were getting cold and dying so they would have to be amputated. Dr John Cody was the doctor on call and he was so compassionate with us, explained what procedures can possible be be done at Davis but we be spaying thousands or dollars as he’s seen this before and the and the other patients didn’t make it.We decided to put him down and he reassured up it was the right decision because he was in a lot of pain, they placed a catheter in. We were put into a privet room and we’re told we can stay there as long as we wanted to and when the times comes just to push the button. Our cat was adopted he came from a hoarder house and was loved and lived a good life he said we gave him a good home.The medical assistant Kendrick was compassionate and very caring to our needs, he held our hands during this hard time. He was amazing too. The front staff was so warm and compassionate too.We’ve been to quite a few ER’s and didn’t get the compassionate we had at Insight. I highly recommend this veterinarian hospital. Hopefully we won’t be back.

On 9/26/2020 we brought our pet cockatiel Sunny in because she was not eating and drinking. Dr. Maskey informed me she was very sick. She explained what was wrong, but with all the medical terminology, types of tests, and medication names, it was all very confusing. I asked her to give me this information in writing before we left. I was clear she had an infection and that Dr. Maskey was going to keep Sunny for a few hours to tube feed her and to give her IV fluids. She mentioned two medications: Doxycycline and Amphotericin, but said her clinic was out of Amphotericin. A few hours later I was told I could bring her home. I left that office Blind not knowing what was wrong with my bird and with no instructions in writing. The assistant that brought Sunny out to us, gave us Doxycycline and a prescription for Amphotericin, which she said could be filled at any pharmacy. Again, I asked for a written diagnosis and medical instructions. The assistant told me theyd be emailed to me. The only thing they emailed was an invoice with price breakdowns.The next day I went to Walgreens to fill the prescription and learned they dont carry that medication. I called the clinic back. I expressed how frustrated I was at this point. The assistant that answered informed me Sunny had avian gastric yeast (the first time I understood her diagnosis!) and she was tested for chlamydia, but they were still waiting on those tests results. She also explained amphotericin for birds can only be filled at compounding pharmacies. They are all closed on Sunday. When I got back home, Sunny was eating and a little more active. My plan was to take her in the next day with our local Avian Vet for a post ER follow up (IVWC is 45 minutes away). By the next morning, Sunny was not eating or drinking again so I took her right in to Dr. Smith. She was confused and asked why Sunny was on Doxycycline, but not on Amphotericin. She told me if the chlamydia test came back negative, to discontinue Doxycycline. It was then that it hit me, our poor Sunny NEVER received the antibiotic she needed most! I thought Doxycycline was to treat the gastric yeast which HAD been confirmed. I couldnt believe Dr. Maskey would let me leave their hospital with medicine for a disease (chlamydia) which had not been confirmed, but no medication for the disease (gastric yeast) that HAD BEEN confirmed! Especially knowing gastric yeast is fatal for birds. The staff at IVWC should have also known compounding pharmacies are closed on weekends and I’d have no way of getting that prescription filled. Being an avian veterinarian, Dr. Maskey should have had amphotericin in stock at the clinic as well! Dr. Smith prepared me for the worst and told me Sunny was so far gone she didnt think shes make it through the night. Sunny had a seizure while Dr. Smith tried to weigh her. Dr. Smith was going to take her to her hospital right away (the location I visited only offered out-patient services) and then she was going to take her home to personally keep an eye on her. Later, Dr. Smith called to inform me Sunny had passed away and didnt even make it to the hospital. Sunny was my sons bird. Hes 15 and was very devoted to her. He was devastated when we broke the news to him. At an age when high school boys dont like to show emotion, he couldnt hold back his sobs. Due to their negligence, our bird died. I contacted the clinic because I wanted to share what happened, and was referred to their Practice Manager, Karalyn Kirkpatrick. I was assured shed read my letter. I have not heard back from her or any other staff member. I also still have not received the results on the chlamydia test. If Sunny had lived and the chlamydia test came back negative, Id still be giving her Doxycycline unnecessarily. Dr. Maskey and the rest of this staff has really failed us.

My experience was terrible, I brought my Dog in with a fever. They kept him overnight and throughout the entire next day without giving me a single phone call. I had to call myself on 4 occasions over 21 hours only to be made to feel like I was a nuisance for asking how he was doing. I was told repeatedly “The Doctor will call you in a bit..” I finally had to go in person to be heard. They had nothing to report as they did nothing except Kennel him with an IV. I was told an X-ray showed something in his stomach but she couldn’t remember exactly what the Radiologist said. I now have to take my Dog to our family Vet for a proper diagnosis and treatment. My impression is that this place is money first and Client relations last. I am very sorry to report. :(

This place and the people are amazing. We had an emergency where all our dogs got into their vitamins and we were turned away from 4 emergency clinics due to overcapacity. They ended up being able to take us right away and were VERY kind and helpful keeping us informed and easy over the phone paperwork/payments.I would highly highly recommend this place as they show a deep care for animals and their owners. After 13 years it came time for my lab to be put down. This clinic was very supportive, patient, and gave me the closure I needed. I wanted to use them as an ongoing doctor but scheduling was a little too far out for me. However in emergency I had with a dog, I did go to them and they accommodated me. Our French bulldog became lethargic and appeared to have severe abdominal pain. My wife drove him down to Insight tonight for an evaluation. Before evaluating a dog who is in severe pain and distress, they make you pay a service fee. My wife recently had to cancel her debit card and has been using her check book until the new card arrives in the mail. Insight refused to take a check for payment, and refused to see our dog without payment. My wife called me in tears and asked me to come home sick from work to pay them. Instead of that she’s driving to the animal hospital in Roseville. We will never do business with Insight again.

One early morning we discovered one of the male feral cats we feed came to eat with his neck ripped open from a catfight. It was bad, poor guy. I was able to trap him and called Insight Emergency. They let us bring him immediately. They took excellent care of the cat. He stayed all day for observation. Because the staff were so good with him, he didnt seem stressed at all. The staff were all sweet, yet professional. The doctor gave us price options pertaining to what treatment we could afford. The vet communicated well with us so we could all decide the most affordable treatment so we could release the cat knowing he would heal. I recommend this place especially for emergencies. The unfathomable thought that one day your best friend will need to go came true for my wife and I on Christmas day and even though Insight vets was not our primary vet, they were open for emergencies so in we went. We knew our old labs time was coming and even though Insight was packed full of other emergencies being one of the few vets open on Christmas day, our experience, relatively speaking, was exceptional. Everyone understood our situation and made our visit feel as if we were the only ones that mattered. I cant begin to imagine how busy everyone else was with other beloved pets but we sincerely appreciate how much attention, compassion and respect we were given. This place is amazing!! I took a cat that visits routinely to eat and get attention due to a foxtail in her eye. They were so great with her and me as I was worried she was going to lose her eye. I brought my Kitty into insight clinc because of a toothache and possible infection. I had been very pleased with insights services in the past and trusted them fully, and am very sad about how things have changed over there. Anyway by the end of his initial exam my Kitty had been poked 6 times and given vaccines he didnt need but because I didnt get his vaccinations there and didnt have his docs they were insisting that he should have them in order to go ahead with the dental appointment. Needless to say the visit was expensive and didnt even address the reason why I brought him. Accept to schedule a future appointment, They did nothing for his pain and they did give antibiotic injection but she slipped and he didnt even get all of it. Then I got the estimate for the dental visit $2500. The day prior to his appointment it was quite a bit more than I expected and because of the initial exam costing so much the dental appointment would exceede my vetcredit limit and when I called them to address this and ask about any other options they may have to help my kitty for the time being or if they were certain that this was my only choice they told me that the only thing that they were able to do was reschedule the appointment for a later day and now because I told them my financial situation now they decided to end the call by informing me that Id need to bring a $2000. Deposit to the visit in order to procede and I was in shock. Its not like I called with attitude or disrespect or anything, I simply told them that I was struggling to get the procedure I brought him for because of all the things they insisted on giving him and charging me for at his initial exam. I thought I had found a place with empathetic and kindness but that is only the case if you have endless deep pockets. I decided to get a second opinion and quote for the dental appointment and I was not surprised to find that the very same initial exam was $283. Less at the new place and they are not even sure if he needs the $2500. Procedure and are trying a less expensive avenue first to be sure. Even if he gets the extraction its not going to be nearly as much as insight was trying to charge us. You really cant replace living people with Fancy office and electric gadgets and call it good with my babies. It doesnt compute at the end of the day when my baby is in pain and its all about the money for them.

Took my cat here. He was sick. I called my vet, but they told me to bring him here. It was a little odd to be told to wait in the parking lot and call when we arrived, but the tech that came out and got our cat was nice, helpful. We went and waited close by as going home would have been too far, and we didnt want to wait in the parking lot. They called and touched base and discussed treatment options. My husband and I drove 2 hours on Christmas eve to have our cat seen. The staff happily walked me through the paperwork while on the phone and took her back almost immediately as we arrived. Our adult beagle Moose was suffered facial swelling out of no where, and Insight determined it was a venomous snakebite. They took him in via emergency and were so good with him. After 24 hours we picked him up and he was back to his normal self. The whole staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, receiving phone calls in the morning and evening from the Dr on duty. Highly recommend Insight! Just for anyone curious, a 24 hour stay with anti venom care are various IV’s and medication ran around $1,900. A lot but worth it for our Moose 😌

This place is a good option for emergency services as they are open 24/7. We showed up around 8:45PM and picked our dog up around 11:45PM. Only the completion after 2 days was off, 2 techs very unfriendly, did not go over charges or tell us when we were done or what the follow up would be. We very sadly had to put our 11 year old dog down at this clinic. The emergency staff were so responsive and helpful. Even though the results were tragic, they made our dog’s end of life full of peace and love. They let us spend as much time as we needed in the comfort room with her. He had a piece of a bone stuck in his colon and they were able to make my dog comfortable and hydrated and he passed it in a few hours. I got to pick him up earlier than planned. We were so thankful for the ability to get our kitty in quickly, especially since so many places were heavily impacted with cases. The communication was excellent from our initial call, to being received, and especially by the vet and techs regarding the options for our suffering tabby cat. Yes, it was expensive, but given the skill and time to address the issue, the cost was reasonable. We were treated with kindness and respect, even as we made the hard choice to put down our beloved kitty. We hope that we arent needing to use these emergency services for a long time, but wouldnt hesitate to go back if the need arose.

We took our dog late on a Friday night due to persistent vomiting. This vet is extraordinarily expensive, but was the only one in our area that had any slots open for an emergency visit that evening. The visit was friendly and efficient. On the other hand, I did not get a call the next day for the vet to inform me about the radiologist review of the x-rays. In fact, they took 5 days to call me back, even though I called them 3 times to query the results. Due to the lack of communication, I hope that I dont need to visit them again.

After 3 days of going to a different emergency vet and being charged a ton of money, we came to insight where we could not be happier with their help. We were told by the previous vet, after 3 days, that there was a blockage of the small intestine. We decided to leave that vet and we came to Insight, where the doctor and techs immediately started fluids for dehydration and prepped him for surgery. The surgery was successful and the pup is now in recovery. We have been called multiple times for updates and he should be ready to be picked up soon! The price of surgery was much better than the estimate from the first vet clinic and it felt like the people who are caring for him really enjoyed their careers and wanted to help in every way possible. We are beyond thankful to all of the staff. The practice deserves more than a 5 star review! If you ever have a pet emergency this is the place to go.

Butch has a nasty bacterial infection in his face wrinkles (bulldog) and I took him to the after hours Emergency Services. Doctor John Cody and the Veterinary Technician who worked with Butch (I cannot remember her name) were absolutely WONDERFUL. They were kind, patient, informative and had me feeling at ease leaving Butch in their care. After my bad experience here with them, I wish I could give 0 stars.My cat was transferred to here for an emergency as they were the only ones available who might be able to perform the surgery my cat might have needed. I received almost no calls about my cat (who honestly I was under the impression might be DYING) unless I called, and each time they heavily implied that I should stop calling. I only called them twice during the 48 hours my cat was there.They lost the x-rays my first vet did, then magically managed to find them after I made a fuss about it, since they just wanted to redo them and charge me more. They didnt want to wait and do an ultra-sound first, the vet didnt want to answer my questions about what would happen during surgery, just writing off my worries. After surgery, the worst case scenario happened and instead of answering my questions about THAT, the vet went on to explain that my 9 pound cat was fat and needed to be on a diet.They originally wanted to charge me over $5k for this surgery and when I said I couldnt afford that, it magically went down to $2.5k, surgery ended up being completely unnecessary and they didnt even treat my cat or inform me how to treat my cat for the pancreatitis that she did end up having. At the end they basically gave me my cat back, said they werent diagnosing her with anything and to have a great day.I called again because my cats incision looked swollen and no one has replied to me about that either. I will not be returning here, and I advise everyone to stay away. They clearly only care about the money.

These people rock. Everyone was super friendly, professional, and enthusiastic about their work. I called around a dozen places today hoping to get an urgent appointment for a tooth abscess on small exotic mammal, not a single other place was able to see him within a reasonable amount of time. Insight was able to get me in within a few hours. They took their time assessing our critter, and let us know what our options were. There were no hidden fees, and the techs kept us updated every step of the way. I cannot recommend Insight enough, especially for small exotics!

I am thankful to have this pet hospital for my dog. I live by South Sac and I called Meller, Vista, All creatures ...animal emergency hospital around n non of them can take my dog tonight (either said they dont have space for my dog, have to wait for 8-10hr to seen, or not taking anymore patients). Lucky when I called insight they willing to squeeze my pet in, I told them I will arrive within 40min and when I arrived there was no wait time and gave us first attention. My dog is in a bad condition n Dr. able to gave her immediate checkout and do her surgery. Insight was recommended to me after my cats normal vet office was unable to take any more emergency appointments. I made an appointment with insight and was able to get in the same day. The exam and medication prices were pretty fair especially for an urgent appointment. My biggest downside is that I was unable to go inside with my cat. Although there was good communication through the phone, I left not realizing that I did not get any information or demonstrations on how to administer the eye drops, ointment and oral medication that I had received. I will continue to and would recommend using this vet for urgent appointments if needed and I hope that as covid disappears that we will be able to go inside soon.

One dog, had 2 tplo surgeries, with 2 consulting surgeons from Summit Veterinary Surgery Services (Dr Lin, and Dr Uhl) at this hospital facility, with follow-ups with Insights doctors, plus routine care with Insights wellness plan for 2 years of COVID. The overall experience was good, other than miscommunication from multiple attending staff, long intake times. Without a wellness plan, costly fees for regular visits, emergencies are even more costlier.The wellness plan allowed visits w/o fees, dental cleaning once a year, all vaccination once a year, some discount on medication and pet spa. Dental cleaning is great here. Pet spa is also good, although getting appointments is difficult, generally 3 weeks wait.

Great 24hr emergency service! My puppy has a habit of snorting foxtails on our property and has had a decent number of visits here recently. 😑😑😑.......They always find a way to get him in for the extraction process no matter the time of day or night with a reasonable wait time. He is very popular around the office and loves to go see all his friends! Even if they usually have to give him sleepy shots and pick his doggie boogers. They offered an awesome wellness plan for our first year of vaccines and treatments with a continued care plan after that. Its on a monthly payment plan as well so this made it very affordable and was just great. They even recommended a wonderful pet rehab facility that specialized in treatment for dogs abusing/addicted to foxtails! :DA+ service! Thanks so much for always taking such good care of Fred for us! I can’t say more good things about Insight. Two of our dogs ended up in a scuffle that resulted in a neck laceration in the middle of the night. Nobody would take us in the surrounding area. We drove an hour for Insight who got us in way faster than they originally anticipated. They were so kind and understanding. They accommodated us and we’re so thoughtful the entire time. They need a 10 star rating! From the initial phone call to the final appointment they displayed a level of professionalism, true concern, and compassion for my pets injury. They delivered emergency level services on a holiday for fairly reasonable prices. The vet called at each evaluation to walk me through what they saw, what needed to be done, and my role in my pets recovery process.Follow up appointments and antibiotics were very reasonable. I received follow-up phone calls just checking in the day after each appt. I dont even get that from my kids pediatrician! They always welcomed me to call if I had any questions or concerns. When I told her my issue was a life or death situation, she said “that’s too bad”. What kind of emergency clinic refuses to see a patient? Not only did she refuse to see my pet or allow me to speak with management about my concerns, she also hung up on me twice after I voiced my concerns. First let me say Im not one to write reviews. That said, I felt compelled to let people know this place is very overpriced. Over 800.00 for an x-ray on a puppy. This was on her leg/knee. I made an appointment this was not an emergency situation. The quote was between 400. and 800. The curb side drop off was also a big turn off for me as my pup was already super stressed and was mot happy going with a stranger. After the x-ray I got a call from the clinic explaining her diagnoses. My pup has a very common condition that occurs is her breed when they grow too quickly. She told me she would send home pain pills (carprofen) to help her cope with the pain. I explained that I given those to her and she had terrible diarrhea and was up all night with her. When my husband picked her up via curbside he was given 60 carprofen. Thats right sixty. Right there on the label it says (discontinue use and call if vomiting or diarrhea is noted) These people obviously didnt care about my poor pup. I would never return unless they were the last option available.

I brought our dog in at 9:30pm after she had a fall and broke her leg. The staff was prompt, patient, and friendly. Dr. Wallen did her intake and also called me the next morning to provide updates. When my Berners stomach flipped, I rushed him here as it was the closest ER vet to yuba city that was open. The staff was very compassionate and the vet was incredible. She made sure I was aware of the realistic expectations that come along with this situation and kept me updated on his condition. The surgery was successful, but unfortunately it was just too late and he couldn’t make it through recovery. I find comfort in knowing he was in the best hands possible and they did everything that could’ve been done. Ive been here twice with my young giant breed dog. First for a skin infection within the first week I got him, and then after he broke into his food and overate causing bloat. The wait was a bit long on our second visit, but thats the nature of emergency medical services; its impossible to predict when there will be a rush. I wont go into too much detail as this will a bit of a long post. This is the only vet that was able to take Hazel in. Ive called 6 other vets, 1st one didnt want to see her because they havent seen Hazel in a while, and everyone else was maxed out.When they were taking Hazel into the hospital, Ive never seen her so scared. Her tail was up her behind and she kept staring at me as if I betrayed her. They had to drag her a little. Should have been my 1 red flag. Hazel always runs to the vet and comes back to the car excited like she had a blast in there.The front desk barley communicates with the vet techs. First, they scared me saying my pup has Pyometra. Front desk called me a few times telling me I needed to pay for the surgery. They cannot preform the surgery unless I pay upfront. They do not take payments which makes it hard on any pet parent. The front desk called and stated that I need to pay $600 for x-rays and blood work so the tech can find what was wrong with Hazel. For whatever reason, I ended up paying closer to $650. The vet also did ultrasound on Hazel.I ended up speaking directly to the vet, per vet Hazel didnt have Pyometra and she told the front desk this. (The front desk people kept pushing that I pay for that surgery. Mind you its about $6.5k+ depending on if my pup needed more fluids/meds.) They found an excessive amount of fluids in Hazels intestine and Hazel was very out of it as well as dehydrated. I asked the vet a few times what it is. She kept stating that she doesnt know. My dad was on the line with me so he can confirm this. Per vet, Hazel needed to stay at the hospital for 48 hour care. Higher end is closer to $5k+ depending on if Hazel needed more fluids/meds. I cannot afford it. I told them that I would take her home. They didnt argue with me nor did they try to convince me to leave Hazel there. They gave me meds and gave Hazel Fluids. Vet did encourage to call if I had any questions. She also encouraged to bring Hazel in the next day for fluids so Hazel would stay hydrated. After the first visit she became more responsive, more calm, started breathing a lot easier.I brought Hazel the next day for more fluids. Again, Ive never seen Hazel so scared. Whoever administered the fluids didnt do a good job of it because it was leaking. That same night around 10 pm I found a bump on Hazels stomach with tiny red dots around it. I called the vet, whoever picked up was very rude. She was coughing into the phone, you can hear that her nose was running. Kept telling me that she cannot hear me. I was almost yelling into the phone. She disconnected the call. I called again the next morning, was told to e-mail the images to them, someone will get back to me and assist me. They were also supposed to send me all the results. I didnt hear anything until 5:18 pm that they didnt see Hazel for a bump I need to make an appointment so they can look at it. I still didnt receive any of the results. All of this was too late. Friday morning I woke up to Hazel breathing her last breaths. She died in front of me.Im really upset, hurt, and confused. This morning I finally received all of her results. They knew what was wrong with Hazel.1. Why tell someone you do not know what was wrong with an animal when you knew.2. Why isnt your front desk communicating with the vets. Give wrong information to the pet parent.3. Why are some of the front desk people very rude and inconsiderate. You are working with people who are bringing their sick pets. You will obvious get people who will cry, freak out etc.. If you cannot handle this, please stop working there. Go work elsewhere. I work with people who are mentally physically disabled. I understand that it can sometimes get out of hand. But once again, if you cannot handle it, please stop working in these kind of environments.4. Why cant your hospital take payments. It makes it hard on the pet parents.Im very upset with this place, I will never come here with any of my pets, and will recommend that no one bring their pet here.

Today was a very sad day for us. Our beautiful gray kitty showed signs of distress when breathing. After calling several local veterinarians, one advised us to call Insight. We did & they did not hesitate to make an emergency appointment for us. The staff was pleasant, caring & responsive & took our kitty in quickly. Unfortunately the news was not good & we had to make the hard decision to let her go. WARNING: Dont trust their billing department!!! First off, I want to say that this review has no bearing on the type of care thats provided at this facility. The review is however directed at the lack of integrity of the billing department at the Insight Veterinary Hospital. Our cat received treatment for a little less than one week and we made a $700 deposit with an agreement to sign off on up to $ 3,200 for her treatment. They agreed to put that $700 towards the $ 3,200 treatment cap and also agreed that they would tell us if we ever came close to that $ 3,200 cap. In fact, its their policy to do so! Our cat was dropped off on a Monday night and by the following Friday night, our total bill was at $2,400. We thought, cool... were good.We checked our bill daily up to that Friday night and each time we were assured that we would be notified if we came even close to $ 3,200 cap.Our cat stayed one additional night and when we checked out on Sunday morning, we were shocked to learn that our bill was now a whopping $3,900 dollars. So it was $2,400 total from Monday through Friday and $1,500 for the remaining night? There was absolutely no notification as promised and no changes in tests or in her care on that remaining night.When we contacted their billing department to ask how this could have happened and why we werent notified as promised, they apologized for their failure to notify us, but werent willing to refund us for their mistake. After two additional attempts to make this right we were refunded a small amount by an unapologetic employee who acted as if, our bad, but theres nothing else we can do. It felt really insulting to be dealing with a beloved terminally ill pet and then having to deal with the stress of being overcharged and especially after being reassured on three separate occasions about their policy to notify us.As mentioned, I have no issues with the care here, in fact there are some wonderful vets at this facility, but if you cant trust someones word and they arent willing to make it right, thats just bad business. If you have shallow pockets and a beloved fur baby, you might consider taking your business elsewhere.

My 3lb chihuahua was there for a period of 24 hours and they charged me $2000. His treatment was some lab work, IV fluids, some raw chicken from a ziploc bag. I had no other option for emergency care at the time so i was stuck going to this hospital. its a complete ripoff, must be the El Dorado Hills upper class area they are in. It should NOT cost $2000 for a tiny dog for 24 hours. Ive gone to other ER clinics and spent slightly more for 5 days of hospitalization including euthanization. We ended here because of an emergency with our bunny and UC Davis was packed and couldnt get them to see our beloved pet. Although the personnel is kind and educated, we felt s little bit aggressive when they said they would treat our bunny but we had to be charged for 3k dollars for 48 hours of emergency care in advance; at the the end of the day our beloved pet passed and we were only charged 600 and some dollars. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE... I brought my 15 year old pet for a cough for an emergency visit. They keep him for 6 hours and when they brought him back to me all he did was cry. When I took him home he had 4 seizures in 12 hours (HE NEVER HAD A HISTORY OF SEIZURES). These prolonged and repeated seizures in a short period of time caused organ damage. My baby was never the same after leaving that TERRIBLE place. They knew he had a seizure or two before they gave him back because they over medicated him. He could not even stand on his own. I know he was older and he had health issues but what I do know is if I never had taken him here he wouldnt be GONE 30 days this horrible visit.

The girls there Sam and Taylor were very kind and understanding of the situation and the panic I was dealing with. We got there as soon as we could but she was in pretty bad shape. We could have done the surgeries needed but the vet was 100% honest with us (which is so genuine and uncommon). They let us know that due to her age there could have been tons of complications and she would be in immense pain afterwards. So sadly we made the decision to send her to heaven. The only reason this isnt a 5 star review is because they had her remains for about 2 weeks and never informed me of it. I provided my telephone number and email. Got nothing.. I am still very please with the gals here. Thank you guys very much. 💕

I have twice needed to use Insight Veterninary Wellness for the most decision. The staff and doctors explained what was happening and validated the painful decision that needed to be made. In both situations, I felt comforted and knew we were in good hands.A week after needing to put our 15 year old girl (dog) down, we received the most precious gift from the staff. Inside the sweet sympathy card was our girls paw print. Something that might be second nature to them, feels like I still have a part of our girl.

Found this place almost by accident as there were no emergency vets in Sacramento who had space. I am glad I did. Although she was very sick, Insight did a great job in helping my cat through her last days. Excellent staff. Even sent a condolences card! They are pricey, but your animal is worth it.

Hi I brought my beloved furrbabie of 19 years in to these Angels back in August, as my regular vet was not open at 2 am. Sadly she in her last few years developed Thyroid issues, Wich she was on medication for eventually, took its toll on her organs, her eye sight was failing, her kidneys also. Then that fateful morning she was not breathing well. I knew this was going to be the HARDEST day for me.💔💔💔💔💔💔 But it was time to send my baby on her journey to kitty heaven 🌈🐈🦋 The staff here were the BEST at explaining everything. They even sent me her 🐾 prints and a lovely sympathy card and made sure all the discussed arrangements were in order for her. These people are horrible, I brought my 4 month old dog in for rough breathing and they administered 3 medicines but decided to only tell me 2 of what they gave because they knew they messed up. They killed my sweet dog and tried to cover it up. Also used completely improper medicine as another vet called and told me what they should’ve done AFTER SPEAKING WITH THIS PLACE. An absolute joke and they try to cover it up. If you want your pet to live, take them elsewhere. The doctor was supposed to be monitoring him in the oxygen room while I went to get the money to pay for it. I get back and the doctor told me he had one of his “techs”, if they even know what they are doing, look at him and he was fine, check on him and he was fine and then he went in there maybe 30 minutes later and he was gone. I urge everyone to truly research places before you go as this doctor has only been working for 6 months so he doesn’t really know what he’s doing. It was doctor stevens. They don’t seem to care about your pets, the whole time they just call u and talk about money. It’s truly sad that they cared more about money than a life. Don’t trust this place they just want to make money.

I always love visiting their office. They are so nice when I call. Hard to get an appointment because they are so busy so I go for the emergency appointment at times. This place is currently creating dangerous environments for animals waiting to be seen. As it stands, your only hope to get yout pet seen is by waiting 3..6...8+ hours; running your AC all day in the car. I lost my nearly 7 year old leopard gecko who was waiting to be seen in a car with AC running on blast. The AC wasnt enough. Just the sunlight coming through the glass and hitting her container (that had a open hole) was ruled as the most likely cause of death. Whats more, when my friend (who offered to take her for me because I had work that day) rushed her in and said that my lizard wasnt moving; they took my lizard into the back and I was left waiting. I got anxious and called after about 5 minutes to ask her condition. They said the doctor would call me back. Several minutes later the doctor called me and said that her heart had stopped. I asked if they tried to perform CPR, The doctor said but they did not because it rarely works on reptiles. It doesnt matter if it rarely works or not, The fact is they never even asked me if they could perform it in the first place and she lost precious minutes that might have counted. I pleaded with the doctor to try anyways, and she did. Unfortunatley, it was too late. I assumed they would try and save her life - not just check to see if her heart had stopped. Trust me, I do not want to be writing this. I just think its important for other people to know. I know this place has a fairly good reputation. I myself have gone to them in the past and had great experiences. However, it doesnt change what happened, and my sweet baby is gone now. I am not trying to be malicious in writing this, I just genuinley think there needs to be a policy change here. People should be allowed to be home in a cooled house while they wait and drive up when itll be their time in 30 minutes. Especially in this summer heat. I want to give some positives at the end here. Thank you to the manager who listened to us and thank you for waiving some of the expense. Also, thank you to Sam for your empathy and kindness. I hope the owners reconsider their current waiting system as soon a as possible.

Our pet rat was 2yr9months old and we had been watching her slowly deteriorate over the course of a few days. We woke up at 3am to find her struggling to breathe and knew we had to put her down as soon as possible.We live in Davis and Insight was surprisingly the closest emergency hospital with a rat doctor. It was a sad 45minute drive and when we arrived at 4am we were in tears that we were about to lose our pet.But the staff was extremely understanding, courteous, and professional. Dr. Brinley was amazing - she confirmed our suspicions and assured us we were making the right choice. She comforted us and gave us space to cry. Most importantly, she helped our rat leave this world in the most comfortable way possible.We left feeling very sad, but relieved that Insight and Dr. Brinley were able to help us and our pet rat. A few days later, we received a Sympathy card that of course made us happy and sad all over again.. but it was very thoughtful.

I contacted six veterinary hospitals for a critical pet emergency. All turned me down except Insight. Although they didnt have an endoscope necessary to treat, they provided x-rays to prove the problem and a referral to a hospital that saved my pets life. I thank Insight for helping me to save my pet. I recommend them for their helpful ways and recommend they purchase an endoscope.

We had to bring in our beloved elderly cat in urgently today because she stopped eating, drinking and could not walk. After calling multiple places who could not see her it was suggested that I call IVWC, and Im glad I did. From the moment we walked in the door everyone was friendly, professional and caring. Dr. Amend examined our cat and assured us that there was nothing else to do. No one ever made us feel rushed, and everyone was willing to answer our questions. This place is a curbside only, so if you want to go with your pet you should go somewhere else, thats not the reason for my one star review though. I took my dog here because he wasnt eating, they took him into the emergency care and took all the information about him as well. A very short while later I got a call from the vet who quite clearly hadnt read anything about the issues with my dog and immediately wanted to schedule an x-ray and bloodwork and give him pills. My dog had just had an x-ray and an ultrasound for the same issue. My warning is that the doctor seemed more interested in giving expensive procedures instead of looking at the information already provided. And to top it off they are trying to charge me for an exam that also clearly wasnt given due to the short time he was there and that I did not want to go forward with anything they wanted to do. My advice is to go to somewhere that actually cares about your animals more than the money.

My pet chicken was seriously ill, and I took her to Insight veterinary wellness center. Dr. Maskey seen my pet chicken, and I was informed she had ovarian cancer. Im still in shock! All the staff that I interacted with were professional yet, personable. Euthanasia was the only option at this point. The plan was to sedate before being euthanized, but by this time my chicken was so ill that she passed away with just sedation. I have other chickens, and I want to make sure they are kept happy & healthy, so I had many questions for Dr. Maskey, All my questions were answered with explanation, and in a way that NON veterinarians would understand. I had no idea that this is common in chickens, and now that I know what to look for, I look back and think some of the the chickens I had rescued had ovarian cancer. Dr. Maskey could not save my beloved Chick or Treat (she passed away on Halloween of all days), but I did find some comfort knowing that I left her office with more knowledge on what to look for with my other chickens. I want to thank ALL the staff for their compassion. I would recommend Dr. Maskey and her team.
