Delightful staff, truly. Beautiful living room /view. Very noisy windows on busy street. Wine cheese in afternoon is very nice and welcoming gesture.The building itself is tired, needs refresh, painting, and updates. Also better cleaners. Old school hot air blowing heating system in the rooms. The breakfast is very limited. No espresso or cappuccino machine. Just a hot pot of diner coffee. For the money needs a better breakfast, coffee, and at least a refresh renovation.

Beautiful place to find refuge after a long, busy work trip. Friendly and welcoming staff. Offered wine and a cheese board upon my arrival. Beautifully decorated and clean room with large bathroom. Delicious homemade cookies and a welcome card in my room with relaxing music playing.The breakfast room is so beautifully decorated with views of the riparian area towards the back of the building. Nice to watch birds and feel like you’re out of the city while eating the homemade breakfast which was so plentiful and really delicious!!Nothing like a microwaved breakfast you might find at a chain hotel.The inn is located within walking distance of the beach and some good restaurants, as well.I would definitely recommend the place to anyone!!

Outstanding experience staying here, once in 2012 and again in 2024. The rooms are spacious, bright, clean and very comfortable. Its worth requesting one with views over the Ballona wetlands as then you can also enjoy this stunning ecosystem from your balcony. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, contributing to a homely feel, which is added to by the delicious homebaking. The decor is fresh and thoughtful throughout. Breakfast and the wine and cheese hour are especially generous and delicious. Overall this is a peaceful and beautiful place to stay which seems a world away from inner city LA. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We discovered this place coincidentally when looking for hotels in the area. It was a phenomenal experience and will be coming back again.We had a minor issue into our stay we discovered what we thought was some mold behind the toilet of room 203 (beware if booked in this room). When we brought it up to the reception James, they were more than accommodating about it and brought it right up to the manager with pictures. For the inconvenience our room was upgraded to a marina view suite with a balcony. The free breakfast, free parking and free wine in the evening was great. Definitely good bang for buck. As far as the reviews go about noise, yes you hear a lot more but the amount of people staying on property was minimal. At breakfast there was at most 4 couples having breakfast. A very warm and pleasant vibe during our stay.

Back in 2016, during my first trip to the US, I stayed at this hotel on the last day of my journey. Looking through old photos today, memories of this hotel suddenly flooded back. It was one of my favorite hotels from that trip, incredibly cozy, and felt just like home. Now, living in Ohio State, I hope to have the chance to stay here again next time I visit LA. Such wonderful memories.

Excellent boutique Bed & Breakfast/Inn, from the Four Sisters group of California hotels/Inns/B&B. Great public spaces as well as beautiful decorated large bedrooms, sitting areas and bath rooms. Located near LAX, but no noise, overlooking beautiful natural wetlands, this is a great location. Unfortunately, as many B&Bs the rooms DO NOT have mini-refrigs, microwaves, safes, coffee/hot water machines, and as the only place to find ice, etc. is from the reception desk/kitchen, when the staff is uninterested it detracts from the overall experience.

At first blush it looks nice, but the hotel is soo poorly kept and has the worst noise insulation we have experienced, we could hear upstairs guests every pace and their faucet running. The guests were up until late in the night and, unwillingly, so were we.Our rooms bath had super slow drain, and already had a plunger in there - not a great sign. We ended up using bc were too tired to wait for night management to show up. The shower curtain holder was all rusty and there were scuffs and dings all around the walls, doors and furniture. No mosquito mesh to keep windows open at night, and you are next to the Ballona wetlands!We were booked for 2 nights but ended up checking out early. At least the reception staff were helpful and professional, they acted like they knew all the stuff we mentioned were known issues.To finish off, the entrance was flooded and there is no management on site during the weekends. Overall terrible experience, better off staying at a motel around the area, and pay a quarter of what we paied for one night.

Disclaimer its a older building so yes it could use some renovations. I would pick this place again if I visits LA great location just outside of LAX close to the beaches and piers a lot of place to eat around the area small and big name brands. Youll need to get before first light to get anywhere early to beat traffic to get anywhere but anyone that lived anywhere close to big citys you knows this. for any that doesnt know if you start to leave around 7 traffic builds up fast 30 mins turns into 145mins

This is a hidden gem in PDR. Nice rooms, ample parking and good included light breakfast! Maybe the only commercial lodging in PDR? Close to the beach and my favorite sports bar - Mos. Also, close to So Cals smallest bar - the Harbor Room. Try them all and Enjoy.

The staff was so nice to us, especially Monica is an absolute angel!The room was spacious and clean. Nice bathroom.The hotel has a living room, terrace and patio where you can relax, play games and/or drink some wine.We really loved to play some checkers and drink some wine after exploring LA.Free parking and complimentary breakfast. We had to cancel our stay, but I thought it appropriate to mention that the front desk e-mailed us an annotated and detailed late-arrival restaurant list at the time of our original booking.Ultimately, we stayed in Dec. 23 for a total of 4 nights, in 2 different rooms( actually preferred the cheaper one) . Old-fashioned, unobtrusive guest service marks this hotel. Good breakfasts. Some of the window hardware requires updating.. the nearby beach is tranquil and clean. A great place to unwind!

Possibly less than 10 minutes away from LAX(possible traffic), this place offers incredible customer service. The rooms feel cozy and comfortable almost like youre at home. You may notice some planes as your are fairly close to LAX but you begin to not pay attention even for sleeping through the night

It’s a beautiful facility. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The service was excellent! I really enjoyed the hostess reception with wine and cheese.The breakfast room, and the living room are absolutely beautiful! Sitting next to the wetland reserve was very peaceful even with the noise of the occasional plane flying overhead.The location is wonderful. Great restaurants close by and a short walk to the beach is a definite plus.The building is showing a bit of wear and tear. There is some damage from vacuuming. A few bits of drywall were broken around a support pole in room 309. I could see dark spots along the window seat where the vacuum cleaner had been dragged across the baseboard. Paint is peeling off the bathroom door. Stains on the carpet.A lot of the double pane windows have broken seals, which means they’re foggy in between the two panes of glass making them look dirty. One of the windows had some serious damage to the wood frame.New carpet and fresh paint would do wonderful things to that room. Replacing the windows would be a great expense, but money well spent.The door between the sinks in the bathroom and the toilet/shower section is too big. It hits the bathtub and does not open fully. I left a suggestion with one of their associates that a bifold door may be a solution.The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Another plus is that the water was hot in the shower. I will be back. I would be very happy to enjoy their hospitality again. Everyone who works here is so wonderful.

Not quite as nice as we expected. It has a funky vibe. It’s on a busy corner. Also the “signature” breakfasts are on hold due to some new review. The happy hour was packaged snacks. The cold windy weather probably also affected our reaction. We did have a nice bright big room. The area is very low key. The public spaces are comfortable and friendly.

My wife and I had a wonderful time! The hotel is very cozy and has great places to sit and enjoy the amazing weather. We cannot say enough about the wonderful staff, they did everything possible to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The Grand View Suite had nice sitting area, a lovely fireplace and a great soaking tub all framed with a wonderful view. The wine and cheese hour was a great start to the trip and the breakfast the next day was a welcome start to the day. Thank you for a great trip.

This hotel is beyond beautiful inside and out. Kathleen was super welcoming. The wine and cheese definitely was a plus. And breakfast exceeded my expectations. The room was so clean and let me just say, this was the first hotel that made me feel like I was at my second home. The balcony view is amazing. The restroom is extremely spacious. And the bed was so so comfortable. This place is very well taken care of. And Kathleen thank you for making my husband feel comfortable and not judged. Unfortunately because of the color of his skin, we always receive lesser than service, but you Kathleen, looked at him in the eye while talking to him and you did not give him the cold shoulder at all. Thank you for the lovely service. Will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to all my friends and family.

Very cute boutique hotel! I had an amazing time during my quick trip to Los Angeles. The staff was very friendly and even gave me a quick tour of the beautiful lobby. No its not your Hilton or Marriot, but it is still just as nice as one and has many personal features! It tucked away in Marina del Rey from all the traffic and people and has an amazing view! They do a complimentary wine and cheese in the open lobby and have a complimentary breakfast included. The bed is super comfy and the bathroom was very large! And the view of the marina, was just breath taking! I really loved this hotel! I would definitely come again!

This is a nice hotel, though I expected it to be nicer for the price and they implied they were very near the beach, which is not quite accurate. Also, the included breakfast wasnt very much, though they did provide plant-based milk on request. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and enjoyed the area, especially being next to the beautiful Bollona Reserve.

This place (and Playa del Rey) is such a hidden gem! I lived in LA for 10 years and its strange trying to find a hotel in your former home city, but this was an absolutely perfect, homey place to stay. Its super close to the airport, but a *million* times better than an airport hotel. I was recently in LA for work and wanted to extend my trip by a day without spending a fortune, and this was perfect. The room was clean and cozy, but the best part of the hotel by far is the beautiful sitting room/dining room. The breakfast was awesome, and the hotel staff let me hang out all day working even after I checked out. The sitting room was quiet with great wifi and views, and really the perfect place to spend a day, if you have to spend a day working. The staff went above and beyond and even brought me cookies and a drink while I was working :-) Playa is small, but its a quick (~10 minute) walk to the beach path where I felt perfectly comfortable walking in the morning as a solo female, and theres a handful of walkable places to eat and get coffee (dont miss Playa Provisions!), and a small convenience store around the corner. I will absolutely be back the next time Im in LA.

This Inn is fantastic! First of all, the breakfast and evening wine and cheese is so wonderful. The food was great, fresh, and delicious. The wine and cheese was unexpected and so relaxing and enjoyable. The Inn is super cute and looks newer than it is due to the great care and maintenance of it. The location is perfect...walkable to some delicious restaurants and the marina and just 5 mins drive to the beach. But the best thing about the Inn is the staff. They are so nice, helpful, and welcoming. They talked to us, gave us local tips, and let us check in early as they had an open room available. This Inn was way better than any hotel we could have stayed at and will be back again for sure!

Stayed for me and my husband 20th anniversary 💕 staff was amazing the wine was nice. Need some updating. Tv worked but every 5 minutes the cable went out and said no connection. Jets in bath tub didnt work we didnt have a table on our balcony but after the 3nd day we asked for one and she came right up with one. Bed was comfortable they definitely need to fix they plumbing issues couldnt really walk outside if you didnt want to step in a big puddle of water. It wasnt the 20 years we was hoping for but we made it work. Staff was awesome maid service great literally everyone that works there was friendly which is why I give them 5 stars 🌟 when you have staff like that it overlook any bad.

Loved this place! So close to the airport and minutes from the beach. The Inn looks out of a peaceful marsh. It was wonderful having breakfast on the deck. The rooms were big and clean and quaint. The free breakfast was actually delicious (unlike pretty much anywhere else I’ve stayed!) The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. I will be back for sure!

The Inn at Playa Del Rey was the nicest, most peaceful, beautiful hotel and we will definitely stay there again! Their breakfasts were amazing, in fact, I loved one of their dishes so much that they sent me the recipe right away and they even made it for me again on the morning of our departure. The views are great, the decor is charming, the rooms are beautifully decorated, its convenient to everything in LA but tucked away from all of the crazy traffic. The service of their staff is beyond AMAZING, they really do treat you like family and they care about all of their guests. We will definitely be back!

I am hotel hopping in Los Angeles and this place is definitely up there. I never been to a bed and breakfast but this was a great first one.Staff was super nice. It really does feel “homey” and felt right at home. We had an issue with our room and they resolved it right away.Some parts of the rooms could use a little work but all of it I’m willing to look past because the rest of the stay was so pleasant. For instance, the room door gets “stuck” and you really have to yank it to open it.They have breakfast and snacks/wine for happy hour. They also have bikes you can borrow but only one bike has a gear. We hiked to Venice beach once and it took like a half hour so not too bad.

We had an amazing stay here, and wish that we had more than just one night to spend! It is really a charming inn, with the main floor on the first floor that gives you a beautiful view of the estuary. The sitting room and dining rooms had lovely touches of birdwatching decor, like binoculars and books, without being over the top, and had a breezy, beach feel. We enjoyed the complementary happy hour on the porch, as well as the homemade breakfast in the morning, which had a variety of baked goods, savory items, and a delicious granola (not to mention the baked goods available throughout the day and cookies upon arrival!). Best of all for us was the use of free bikes to explore the beaches on the nearby bike path. We also received a complementary upgrade, and loved the room and bathroom. The inn staff were all friendly and helpful. You are a short walk from the beach (go for sunset!) and many nearby bars and restaurants (the tapas restaurant gives guests of the Inn a free glass of sangria!). Could not have been happier with our peaceful and enjoyable stay at the Inn!

We were headed to Australia for a vacation in mid March 2018 and decided to break up the trip with a 2 1/2 day stay at the Inn at Playa del Rey. The staff was fantastic, we were greeted like family upon on our arrival and the property was absolutely wonderful. Our room had a view of the marshlands and was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning and our morning coffee on the balcony. The inn beats a crowded hotel any day and is much more relaxing. Our flight to Australia didn’t departed until 10PM on our final day and the staff allowed us to keep our room at the 1/2 day rate so we were able to enjoy the property until 8pm on our final day! Not to mention another evening of great wine and cheese which is served every evening from 5pm-7pm.The inn is a hidden gem in Culver City,Phil S.

From the moment we were greeted at check in we knew booking two nights at this Inn was a great decision. They were kind enough to upgrade us which was very appreciated. The staff that greeted us at check in was very friendly and went above and beyond service during our entire stay. Rebecca seemed to be at the front desk, in the kitchen, re-stocking drinks and home made goodies constantly. Nice wine and cheese gathering each evening and the free breakfast was fabulous. The inn is very well maintained with oversized gathering areas both inside and out. Loved the beach decor. We took advantage of the free bikes and rode to Santa Monica and hung out on the beach for several hours. Great place to relax when flying in or out of LAX and only 5 miles from the airport. The bedding, pillows, down comforter, etc. were very comfortable and high quality.I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely stay again when back in the LA area.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! Rooms are clean and homey. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating. I never had a single issue with our stay here. All that combined with a great location (walking distance to the beach and several restaurants) and great price, I’m so glad we didn’t just go with an airport hotel for our trip to LA! This is a fantastic place!! (We live in the area, and used it as a staycation - a break from our two preschoolers...) The room was very comfortable and cozy - fireplace, beautiful view of the marsh, balcony. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. There were even cookies and a welcome note in our room when we arrived. We borrowed the bikes for a fun ride on the beach path, enjoyed their delicious happy hour - and the breakfast the next morning was scrumptious. (They give recipes - cant wait to get the granola recipe - best ever!) The only problem was that the time flew by and we had to leave before we knew it! Well definitely be back. What an amazing place. Starting with the nicest, most welcoming staff and ending with a fantastic, high quality breakfast... and everything in between. The B&B is quiet and feels like a true getaway from LA. My husband and I stayed in the Grand View Suite, room 304. There were chocolate chip cookies in the room upon arrival. It overlooks the Ballona wetlands and features a large living room with a fireplace. The fireplace is two sided and the other side is in the bathroom - right by the jacuzzi tub. Very romantic. The wine and cheese happy hour, snacks around the clock, and the breakfast are wonderful. We will definitely stay here again!

We are from Germany and stayed a night at Inn at playa del Rey. The Receptionist was soooooo kind and friendly, that you felt as if you are home. She was such a pleasant lady who showed no difference to my skin color. Her welcome was the absolute welcome of heaven. Keep it up lady. Ive been here numerous times within the last 20years.... Every time I visit small changes are nice that theyve made in the rooms . However, if a large breakfast was included it would be better. This is a wonderfully Charming Inn at the edge of Playa del Rey overlooking the bird sanctuary. Walking distance from a number of really wonderful restaurants and the beach. Convenient to the airport and to Silicon Beach Venice and Santa Monica. Very romantic getaway for couples. The breakfast is excellent as well and I highly recommend the quiche.

My family stayed here for Christmas. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They changed our room just because we saw another we liked better. Each is unique and they keep the doors open for rooms that are unbooked. It feels homey and quant in that way. They set out a continental breakfast every day in a sunny dining area next to a cute sitting room with a fire. It was exactly what we needed for a refreshing weekend to recharge our batteries and relax. It was nice to be able to go into the City and do things if we wanted to but also Retreat to this wonderful and lovely Inn and feel like we were so many miles away from everything. The food and the service were both exceptional and the inn itself is just as cozy as youd ever want anything to be.

It might be classified as a boutique hotel but to me it was just worn out. Walls need paint, carpets need changing, business center has one 15 year old computer and a sad printer, elevator is struggling and no cards for the locks, just actual sets of keys for the different doors. Location is too far for easy walking to the beach and the neighborhood isnt great for that. Wont stay there again.

Along with fruit, cheese, coffee, etc. But it was like a ghost town, lol. Empty. And the views of the marina they brag about?? We paid extra to see the boats from our room. What we really saw was a huge dirt area, not even sure what it was for as it was gated off, with some old man raking it- again-what for? And if you have bionic eyesight, which we didnt, you could barely see the outline of what looked like a few boats on what I guess was water, lol, but was too far away to tell! And they made us pay an extra 50 bucks for that view! What a rip off. 3 stars for a good try tho I guess. They did deliver dinner (not included!) from a nearby restaurant to our room, which was nice. And it is super close to the beach. It was alright. Wish I could give more stars, but I cant.

Clean beds, sheets and towels (just watch out for the insects near windows and balconys. Ive stayed at 4 star hotels recently that did not provide a service like Inn at Playa del Rey. They have free high speed wifi and they have free parking. Highly recommend this place if you are planning to stay close to LAX airport. However, the staff can help you out plan your entire stay and show you the best places in LA. The only downside, from my point of view, is the location because sometimes it took me 50-60min drive to universal city walk with traffic.

We stayed three nights and had a good experience. The hotel is located near the airport and conveniently away from the noise of the city, making it very quiet. It includes free parking and the rooms are spacious, cozy and kept very clean. They were kind enough to store our suitcases for several days while we traveled through the interior of the country. Some aspects to improve:- Insufficient shampoo and shower gel (we asked at reception and they refilled us very little).- Breakfast was somewhat scarce and repetitive because the kitchen had been closed for months due to renovations.- We noticed some unequal (inferior) treatment by some service personnel if you spoke in Spanish.Otherwise all great :)Highly recommended.
