Nice cozy coffee shop. They have an extension of sorts that has live music over the weekends which otherwise is additional seating other days.. Went on a Friday afternoon around 3 and the place was full. Nice pastries but I would say, they are pricey. Took long time for order to arrive. Pastry took longer than coffee surprisingly

Inklings has a warm and friendly atmosphere perfect for working or meeting a friend for coffee. Their coffees are always second to none. This peppermint mocha is the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere. Highly recommend. There’s seating near the coffee bar and more seating in a large connected room. Bathrooms onsite. Free parking lot and street parking next to building. Inklings never disappoints.

Came here for the first time. I love how the coffee shop displays classic decorations and books giving much ambiance to what a coffee shop is along with the coffee stand being classical and located at the center of this shop. Also love the dark theme here too!However, when ordering here, the service is lacking. I ordered drip coffee with 2% milk and almond croissant warmed up. They told me that they will call me when the order is ready, but never did. I waited for almost 15 minutes and the croissant is probably sitting at the pickup counter the whole time when I have to ask the staff about it.Not saying that it’s a bad coffee shop, but if you’re just planning to stay here, then you shouldn’t worry too much about the service unless you have somewhere you need to go right away.

The coffee was good, I had a drip and Americano. The bacon/egg/cheese sandwich was good as well but the atmosphere or “vibe” was way better. As a lifelong Tolkien/CS Lewis fan, everything about this place was wonderful. It feels like an old bookstore across the street from Oxford University.

What a great place! There are several rooms off to the side with additional seating. I love the “quiet nook in an antique library” feel to the place. The coffee is great, the staff are super friendly, I just wish I lived closer!

Unique coffee shop in downtown Pleasanton! Servers were very friendly and my dirty chai latte was one of the best that Ive had. Dark wood, oil paintings on the walls, and bookcases filled with old books set a very different vibe from most modern coffee shops around.

Lets get right to it and comment on the coffee. WOW!! Inkling coffee just may be the best coffee I have ever had. I ordered the Carmel Bourbon Latte and my daughter ordered the Blueberry Latte which both tasted sensational. The taste remained consistent down to the last sip. The coffee shop itself was very cool with a bookstore vibe and the staff was extremely friendly. If you have not been to Inklings and you get the chance, I recommend you give them a try for yourself.

Street parking available & a mini parking lot.For this recent visit since my last one 4 years ago, tried their hoilday special, Spiced Fig latte. Not very strong on the spices & fig, tasted like a normal latte. Might default it to their americano.

I love this place. So sleek and stylish. This place is legit. If I lived here I would be a regular.From the inside seating, decor, cool vibe, friendly baristas, swag and delicious drinks. How could you go wrong?The cold brew I had hit the spot and met the check marks. I even picked up some swag.Perfect stop for me. Ive been a regular at this coffee shop for the past few years, and it has never disappointed! They consistently serve up excellent coffee that never fails to hit the spot. Their seasonal lattes are a must-try; I usually look forward to trying out the creative flavors they come up with.The ambiance is warm and cozy, perfect place to catch up with friends. However, it does tend to get crowded in the mornings, so its best to arrive early if you want to snag a table.Overall, this coffee shop has been my go-to spot for a reason, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee in a welcoming atmosphere.

Didnt notice that it closes at 6 pm on Sundays. We arrived at around 5:55 pm and ordered our coffee. We waited for 4-5 minutes and had intention to sit and relax longer. As soon as our coffee was served, we were asked to leave citing the time. Had they informed that it can only be a takeaway, we would have moved to some other cafe.

Love this coffee shop. It’s always busy so it may be hard to find a spot to sit. However it is quite large so you will find a spot somewhere :) Their bouquet latte is my favorite. Great and friendly service.Would love to try one of their open mics! Hope to see them in higher frequency in the coming months!

Very cozy yet vintage at this coffee place! It has a bunch of books here, lots of tables for people to just chat or do some work here. There’s a parking lot here or you can also park on the street.I really enjoyed the lavender latte & vanilla latte here, has great coffee aromas! They also have pastries & cold brews here!

Best coffe shop Ive been to in my life. Jazz band was playing there on a Saturday, in-house made flavorings, natural sweeteners, and the best tasting coffee in the area. All the brewistas are insanely nice, and work fast. Would recommend to anyone who likes coffee and hasnt been. Highly discourage going to the garbage Starbucks next door

This is a great coffee shop to visit . Lots of tables, great wifi, great coffee and vibe. I like going there to work remotely and having a different experience than the regular work from home. Great spot to catch up over coffee. It has loads of space to sit inside and work as well as outside seating. The pour over coffees are good but more medium light than light. The Cortado is really good and the all day breakfast sandwiches are a must try. Love the vibe of the place.

Love this cute and unique cafe right in the middle of downtown! The chai latte was so good. They have variety of dairy-free substitutes for those with a dairy sensitivity / lactose intolerance.Ive only gone a couple times in the past 3-4 years, but the staff seemed to know a lot of the customers that were coming in on a first name basis. Definitely a nice, small community feel.Cant wait to be back to try some of the sandwiches, pastries and other drinks!

This was such a cute place in downtown Pleasanton. The vibes made me want to stay their all day. I had to also order seconds of my latte. I ordered a lavender latte once and the second time I got a pumpkin cream latte. I’m glad I didn’t stay there for any longer or else I would’ve finished all their coffee for them.

A fun coffee shop that I’ve been wanting to visit for awhile. A cool premise to base on the inspiration named after the literary discussion gathering of some famous writers (JRR Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, etc.) that met together in Oxford. The books and space make it remind you of a cozy library or scholarly cafe, and I like the ample table space and creative rooms for different types of study environments.Coffee from what I tried was pretty good with a fun hot chocolate (you got a marshmallow too). Parking seems ample with street parking too. Staff was helpful and pastry selection though limited seems pretty standard for ur hip type of coffee shop.

Can not tell you how much of a personal and humane touch Natalie and Loretta instilled in my visit. I was a total mess coming in (1st time visit and cycling up from Fremont). Along the way my mask fell out of my pocket and was stuck on the other side of the mountains feeling helpless. These two kind baristas were ANGELS in going way out of their way to help me!! I was moved!!! The coffee itself was the best mocha I’ve had in a long long time and the orange/thyme cupcake that they had catered in hit the spot. EVERYTHING, including the decor which makes me want to copy/paste for my own house one day, was superb. 100% surprised by this experience and can’t recommend enough!!

While on a business meeting and being an avid coffee drinker, I ordered a Large Decaf Americano and it looked more like I had ordered tea. It wasn’t terrible but very, very weak in taste. Arguably the best tasting coffee in the bay! We come for the Lavender Latte. It goes down so smoothly I dare describe it as the coffee that is rolled down like red carpet down your palate. Their Lavender syrup is homemade with simple syrup and Lavender flowers. No wonder its amazing! Ive also had the whiskey bourbon caramel latte. It is just as delicious.The space is tranquil. There are a couple of rooms to relax. One is especially more quiet for working or reading.

Your Baristas are on point! Trained well! Sometimes we want espresso forward drinks in rapid time, Here, They take their time with each drink and not in a bad way! Each drink gets attention. I would love if they posted a second menu somewhere else too because by the time its your turn in line you can finally see the full menu and feel pressure to pick quickly. This place has been my #1 love to go coffee place in downtown Pleasanton, until today!I had very negative impression from the service staff today.The story was, I ordered a cold brew coffee, and the male staff took my order and asked my name to put into the order. After a not-too-long wait, I noticed the lady in front of me in line got her order but had some problem, so the female staff helped her change the her order. Then it jumped to the couple after me in line, which made me wonder is my order missed! So I approached the female staff and asked where did my order stand? she immediately apologize and gave me the cold brew coffee in literally less than 1 min. Since I wonder why my order got missed so I asked the male staff who took my oder about how does the ordering system work to make sense why my order was missed? He replied:didnt you get your coffee? I was like! yeah! but not the point, the point is why? and he goes it happens!, and it takes times! Well I truely saw the female staff literally spent less than 1 min to pour my cold brew, and so I replied to the male staff:but, it took so quick to get the re-make one while it took so long for the first one, and seemed my order got missed! He goes again it happens! and I was curious to ask how the order was put into the queue, and why it got missed? he simply replied they just say it, and I confirm with him, are you saying you enter the order queue verbally? he said yes! How is that possible? you asked my name to punch into the system, the staff making the coffee must follow the order queue to complete the order and call the customer to get the order! Why my order was missed? I just want to find out why, and the male staff was so terribly addressed my question just to urge me go, making me feel terrible! The female staff who missed my order wanted to give me a voucher but I didnt want it, because I just want to know why? and how did the order get missed? Still I dont know why, this made my todays experience the worst among all my past visits in this coffee shop!

Sadly the place didnt live up the hype. Cool interior but terrible coffee. My single origin pour over was basically brewed with way too hot of a water so you couldnt taste anything. Lattes were flavorless. While I have enjoyed many local coffee shops this one was just bad. They no longer serve stumptown. Also as other reviewers said latte cups are half full. They do have dedicated parking which is good.

I frequent Inkling and always want to like this place. The staff always rocks. They’re great. The facilities are always so dirty. I spent the whole summer coming here almost daily in 2021, and there was a pink mask and stains on the outdoor furniture that literally did not get cleaned for months. I had to go in and finally ask them to come clean to get them to do it, and the mask remained for another month or more. Their teas are really bitter, and I get the impression from watching them brew the ice team in the same stained plastic container, that they don’t wash their equipment as much as you’d think they would- leading to a terribly bitter aftertaste. Overall, I love the vibe and staff here, but they need to up their cleaning game a bit. 😬🫣

Great local place! Hand made flavors, a library/book nook attached. Only bummer is that it is associated with churches & a christian community. Definitely a downside in my opinion. Try the lavender drinks, you wont be disappointed. Allergy-friendly place too. They have gluten free, nut free, and vegan baked goods. Their staff is also knowledgeable about allergy-safe drinks if you ask.

I was recently introduced to this coffee shop and it has the best ever Chai Latte! I thought Starbucks had the best version and I was so wrong! This will be my to go place for my Chai Latte fix! I also had their almond croissant which is another of my favorite pastries! It was a good day to have this combo mix! I highly recommend this place! The space is adorable and there are lots of chairs and tables of different types to sit and work while you sip, along with decent wifi. Clean restrooms with multiple stalls a huge plus. But the overpriced brewed drip coffee was cold and the man behind the counter talked loudly non-stop. I appreciate his friendliness, but it felt more like a bar than a coffee shop.

Went between four different coffees to see which blend they want to introduce next into the shop. It’s really great to be part of the process with a company. Inkling is a great coffee shop right in the middle of downtown Pleasanton. Excellent location and quite a sizable shop. They have several rooms and a large hall with socially distanced locations to sit and enjoy coffee while doing your work. There a few tables outdoors too. I prefer it over Petes or Starbucks.

I love to break up my morning here on a work day where I am not ahead of traffic heading south. There are lots of places to work, and the environment goes from sleepy to energetic mid morning, even during bad weather.Pour over coffee options are good (stumptown is a good roaster) and their seasonal feeling fancy drink on the board is always a good original and tasty pick if you want something sweeter.

But that could be because there are patrons who use the main dining room to conduct their business on the computer and phones instead of the area in the back designated for such. Today there was a woman there who was on her computer and the phone who talked so loudly that I could barely enjoy my coffee in peace. I could hear her entire conversation, and believe me, I didnt want to. I suggest the managers prohibit phone calls in the main dining room since there is an area for that.

Hip and happening coffee shop in the heart of Pleasanton where you can find a good selection of coffee, tea, and kombucha, along with pour over and draft cold brew options. There’s also a prohibition menu with some uniquely blended drinks (recommend the bourbon & bourbon consisting of bourbon st vanilla tea, caramel bourbon, and almond milk).The indoor seating has a rustic feel with the wooden architecture and furnishings. There’s a small library room with limited tables and a window that faces the street. And another room that is much larger with lots of seating and even a stage, which I assume is used for church service or other events.The wifi works great and it’s easy to focus indoors if you decide to bring along some work. There’s also plenty of parking in the lot just outside.

Major bonus points for their aesthetic. This is a beautiful coffee shop with an incredibly charming old school appeal. Coffee is delicious and brewed from Stumptown beans- based out of Portland, OR. Very smooth cold brew. Hot chocolate is decadent and made with one of my fave chocolate brands: Guittard, based locally in SF/ Burlingame, CA. The baristas are very friendly.

If you plan to use a laptop or something there are plugs along the walls available for use.The coffee is good and they give free refills if you drink here. Theres also a parking lot, which is nice so you dont have to worry about parking limits.

From start to finish the staff we dealt with did everything wrong by the book. When we first ordered, he had zero expression on his face, no smile along with no enthusiasm. As we ordered, we had a few questions and his answers curt. One of the orders included a decaf espresso and when received the drink, we asked about to verify it was decaf, he responded with we dont have decaf. We expressed our dissatisfaction of him not informing us that there was no decaf when we asked for decaf so then so then he said hell make us another one. As we were sitting and waiting, his co-worker came up to him and suddenly they glancing over at us while talking. The appearance of their conversation looked like they were talking about us. When we went to get our drink, we asked again, repeating our drink order to him. He looked at the drink ticket with a long pause, had the look of messing up our drink, then replied it should be. At that point we left took the drink and left it on a table. During the entire time there was no smile, apology, clarification, guidance or customer service.
