We loved our stay! I loved that I can do laundry in the room less when I get home to do. Convenient location. Large rooms. Hotel manager was awesome to work with. Housekeeping was great. Had a great stay! Will be back for sure in the future!!

Rustic and located in the mountains. Fabulous view and great amenities. Even has golf and a pool slide.Nightly get together and friendly, helpful staff.Mingled with great guests as well, so much fun.Weather is hot but not humidity that we have in Florida.

Truly a 1 star “resort” . Some of the pools were closed for maintenance, during a busy Father’s Day weekend. The ones that were open had floating band aids in them. Good luck trying to get cell service outside of your room with out WiFi . Don’t bother asking the front office for any supplies before 8am, they cannot accommodate . The sections are far apart, if you have family staying in different buildings, you will have to drive there . The parking is a mess. Despite giving you a park pass for your section, you still run the risk of not finding a space and have to park far from your car. I’ll say the absolute ONLY good part of this trip was the rep from the time share presentation, he respected when we said no. That’s about it . Don’t bother with this place, there are plenty of near by resorts that can provide way more value.

This place was built in 1985. The rooms are large and theres so much open space. Its not the 4 Seasons, its a family place. Its where your kids and grandkids learn to play golf and swim. It has a rich history as an American success story. Lawrence Welk didnt learn English until he was 21, had a limited education and never had a music lesson. He succeeded beyond his wildest dreams.This is a special place to a lot of people.

I recently had a disappointing experience at the Hyatt vacation club at the Welk, and I feel compelled to share my feedback. The hotel did not live up to the expectations set by the pictures provided. The room I stayed in was outdated and had numerous issues. One significant problem was the towel rack in the bathroom, which turned out to be insecure. As a result, when my family member tried to retrieve a towel, the rack fell on them, causing injury.Initially, we had booked a three-night stay and paid in full. However, due to the injury sustained by my family member, we made the difficult decision to forgo the third night. With this in mind, we kindly approached the manager, Spencer, and requested a refund for the unused night. We specifically explained that we would be checking out early and not occupying the room. To our surprise, Spencer denied our request, stating that he would need to obtain the safety incident report and assess whether an early check-out and refund were warranted. This lack of sympathy for the injury caused by their unsafe hotel room was deeply disheartening. Furthermore, it is worth noting that Spencer never reached out to provide an update after supposedly investigating the incident report.Overall, my experience at the Hyatt vacation club at the Welk was far from satisfactory. The hotel fell short in terms of its appearance and cleanliness, and it charged exorbitant resort fees and hotel costs for amenities that were not adequately provided. Most concerning was the evident disregard for the safety and well-being of their guests. This experience has left me convinced that this is not a suitable place for a family vacation.I hope that by sharing my experience, the hotel management will take necessary steps to address the issues and prioritize the safety and comfort of their guests in the future.

Our first three nights here were great! Nice unit with a great view. Loved the handheld shower. Modern looking furnishings. Nice balcony. Only downside was the noise from the people above us. Very loud stomping and moving furniture.

TLDR: the property is beautiful and amazing, the rooms are large and clean, but everything leading up to our trip (customer service and communication) was SO STRESSFULWe booked our trip on a promotion- $250 for 3 nights w/ free zoo tickets if we listened to a timeshare pitch. From the time I clicked on the ad until we actually checked in at the front desk I was skeptical we were getting scammed.I had to call and talk to a sales person to book our dates (after we already paid). On the phone call, I mentioned that some of my extended family may want to join us on the trip and the guy was very strict that “group travel” did NOT qualify for the promotion and we’d have to pay full price if anyone we knew went the same dates as us, which was kind of a bummer and made me worried that if we unknowingly did anything else wrong they’d charge us full price.I assumed the trip was 100% confirmed after i finished the initial call and I got a confirmation email… until ~1 month before our trip when I got an email asking me to review the details of our trip and confirm it again via email. Did it. And then got ANOTHER email asking to call to confirm. I had to call 4 times before someone actually answered and could confirm the dates for me.I tried hard to find pictures of the rooms or a property map online and there is really no good info online. Any phone number you can find on Google has weird hours, no one answers, or is the Hyatt vacation club main line.The resort has multiple pools, water slides, splash pads, playgrounds, pickleball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, and grills throughout the property. Every room has a kitchen with basic cookware. There’s a great farmers market on Monday nights. This is amazing- except we didn’t know about it in advance so we did not plan or pack accordingly to take full advantage.The presentation was easy for us and our salesperson wasn’t pushy, but I know some other people staying had very unpleasant experiences.The property is amazing, clean, and rooms are spacious and well kept. Not sure the trip was worth the stress I had leading up to it 😂

This is the first time I’ve ever been introduced to a time share and the sales man at the time share ruined the experience for my partner and I. I come from a sales background and have been quite successful, so I understand the importance of timing and sales tactics. I told the first rep, I’m here just to hear what a time share is and am not interested In purchasing anything today. He got really discouraged and lost all interest in his sales pitch. Then I told him I’m interested in all options since the 5 figure price tag that I could drop on a new business or rental was not something I was fully convinced on. He saw an opportunity and called in his manager. The second person involved and he also tried to strong arm me in buying a product, almost felt like I couldn’t leave until I said yes. Which to be quite honest seems like a used car dealer ship fear mongering older people. I definitely wasn’t okay with this. He even went as far as asking me to put my financial advisor on the phone with him, also a bit disrespectful if you ask me, I just met you 2 min ago and you want to speak to my financial advisor, but yet you say multiple times you’re not trying to strong arm me?They didn’t let me keep or take photos of the two quotes I was pitched either … a little sketchy. Especially saying that if I walk away from the deal and don’t buy at this time they magically disappear… To then pass me to the third sales rep!!!!! Who made a last effort attempt to close me and say will value those deals(which I was not able to keep for reference or take photos of) as I said after an hour half of strong arm sales pitches that I am not interested i just wanted info the third sales man with the look of irritation on his face walked us to the stairs and disrespectfully walked away with attitude and sass since we didn’t close on anything that day.Hyatt, you can do better!

We loved our week at the Welk. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. We were fortunate to be able to attend a Beatles tribute performance, which was great fun. We had one meal in the diner and it was also very good. The server was amazing, but the food coming out was quite slow.

We came here because we were participating in a 2 hour tour that was offered at the Del Mar Fair in exchange for a few gift options (requires a $50 deposit that is returned at the tour). We scheduled our tour for 06/27/2024 at 1:30PM. We received a confirmation text that stated our tour was for 10am. I called the resort and spoke with Patty. I was told by the lady that it was a glitch that was sent out and our tour was still for 1:30PM. She then asked if my boyfriend and I lived together for at least a year and shared expenses. The question caught me off guard and I asked what the purpose of the question was. I didnt understand what it had to do with the tour. She was a bit condescending in explaining that its just a part of the questions they ask. I decided to let my boyfriend call back and speak with their staff since I didnt feel like Patty was very friendly. My boyfriend was helped by Jason, who offered us a Villa at a great rate. He was super professional and very accommodating. Hes truly great! Were really glad he offered us to stay the night. We are San Diego locals and this is a bit of a hidden gem.The villa is amazing. So spacious and really nice. Were by the gold course with an a pretty & completely unobstructed view. Its so serene and relaxing. We had a king size bed villa with a queen pull out couch and full kitchen. The bathroom had a double sink, a free standing shower, large jetted tub and a private toilet room. The villa also has a washer and dryer, which was a nice surprise.The pools are great. The splash pad is perfect for the little ones. The lady at the window at the poolside store, I believe her name is Bella, wasnt friendly at all. Overall the grounds are kept very clean. Its a huge resort so keep an eye out for the trolley they offer. They have grills and seating areas everywhere.Overall its a fun great place but some of the staff can work on their customer service skills, especially in San Diego where we have many places we can stay at instead. The front desk staff was great though. Its great for all groups, a guys golf trip, families with small kids or teens, older folks and even a couples trip. Its really perfect for a weekend getaway. I recommend this place for locals looking for a place that all members of the family can enjoy.Hopefully our tour goes well tomorrow. If you get the chance to go to the fair keep an eye out for the tour they offer in exchange for the prizes. Definitely worth it.

Very nice place when you are staying with a bigger group and want room to cook. Having a two-bedroom suite was reasonable when splitting with others and was absolutely massive. Has everything you need for cooking. The room could have used some repairs/touch-ups, but was very clean and just massive. Beautiful view off of the patio as well.Facilities were fun but need repairs. Foosball tables had broken rods or people on them. These are easy and cheap to repair, so it would be nice if they would keep those in good condition as that is part of why you stay at a resort. The pools were very large and heated very nicely so that it was a pleasant swim even when it was only in the mid-50s outside. However, the hot-tub specifically needed a deep cleaning.Service was alright. Room cleaning never occurred, I believe it is on-demand vs. scheduled. We were there only 3 nights so it wasnt an issue for us.The property is very safe, including a gate guard checking for parking passes to get into anything past the check-in building. Parking is free which is not surprising due to location, but always a plus in charge-happy California.Overall, it was a nice stay.

I loved pretty much LOVEDD everything about this vacation stay. The only issue I had was how dim my room Was compared to my friends room. We were in there much at all but to get ready and sleep. The room was very spacious. The staff were so friendly. They had a good selection of meals/drinks. They have the most perfect view of the ocean. We were about 14 mins from downtown which was so nice. Transportation to the hotel is also very helpful.

So, we signed up for a timeshare presentation and stayed there 3 nights.There was nothing wrong with the room or the grounds. It was petty quiet and VERY quiet compared to our previous hotel.Everyone who worked there and the other vacationers were all very friendly. We went for a walk one more and everyone we encountered gave us a hello and good morning.I think they need to update the map they give you at check-in. The building we were staying in had a 55 on it on the map. But there was no 55 on the building that I could see. That would make finding your villa MUCH easier, and its an easier fix. One person could probably label the buildings in a day. Regardless, we found our building and villa pretty easily. We can totally see how that could be a challenge for some - depending on which building they are staying in.The pool and water slide for the kids wasnt super busy, but the area was pretty active. The room was clean and in good condition. I wouldnt tell someone not to stay here. Theres even a little pond you can rent fishing poles for and go fishing. Its $10/hour for the pole or $25 for the day, which i personally thought was a little steep, considering youre already paying a resort fee.The presentation was WAY better than I anticipated. After all my questions were answered, we decided it just wasnt for how we currently travel. They, of course, had the other person cone over and offer a lesser package, which didnt change that it just didnt fit our traveling needs. But, once I said no to her as well, they had us sign a paper with one final person who wanted feedback on the presentation, and then we were off. It was probably 2.5 hours before we left. Which, I realized I shouldve paid closer attention to the time.All in all, it was a good experience.

The resort is beautiful but fairly isolated. Our timeshare units kitchen was surprisingly ill-equipped, with just two saucepans. No frying pan, no stockpot/pasta pot. We really expected more based on our previous experiences with renting timeshare units. No washer/dryer either. Otherwise, our one bedroom unit was spacious and well furnished.

Upon check in we found dirty soiled bed sheets with dirt and random bits of pebbles. Pubic hair in the jets of the tub. Dried herbs littered all over the stove. Emailed customer care…never heard back.Restaurant staff were incredible. Pool staff amazing. We probably wont be back.

(Disclaimer: This review is for the companys timeshare presentations at this Hyatt location, not for a stay at this vacation club)I strongly advise people NOT to attend the timeshare presentation, if your hope is to receive the free vacation offer. Hyatt works with a third party booking company called Casablanca Express. This company is a complete scam. They are extremely hard to work with, they make the booking process as difficult as possible, and then book you the dirtiest, cheapest option available (in my case this was a hotel). I ended up paying more in the $50 deposit and $125 taxes than I would have if I had booked it myself. There is nothing free or easy about the experience. I have been working for over a year to get my deposit returned to me.Hyatt needs to work with reputable booking companies if they wish to advertise their timeshare presentations with any sort of reward to the visitor. It soils their reputation by working with these companies.

I have changed my overall rating from 1 to 3 to reflect their work.ORIGINAL REVIEWI stayed one night at the Welk, and the dishonest and deceptive communication with the staff left me with a very bad impression.I spent an entire day trying to get amenities promised at check-in that I was later told after multiple follow-up requests were not even available in the first place.At check-in I was asked to attend a feedback session that was in fact a timeshare sales pitch.I didnt even get the bottle of water I am eligible to receive due to my Hyatt status...I generally only look for Hyatt properties when I travel, but after this experience, I now feel like I need to look more closely at non-Hyatt properties when planning a trip.

I needed a place to spend the night on my way back to San Diego and found this place on the map. The weather was raining and I was only there for overnight, but it a very nice place. I had a small one bedroom suite and it was just wonderful. The room was very spacious, with a large walk in shower, and a very nice kitchen and living area. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I wish I hadn’t previously booked a room close to the San Diego airport for the next day, which I couldn’t cancel. I would have stayed here because it was only a 45 minute drive to the airport. You won’t be disappointed in the suites at the Welk!

We stay at a lot of vacation clubs between the various hotel chains, this is probably our least favorite. They do push for a sales meeting upon check in which we firmly declined. You should too!It just feels old. We were in a building up on the hill which was good because we didnt want to be by the pool, but we didnt have a view either. We barely got any natural light. Ground level is the basement level.There were activities that we attended such as Pickleball with a great instructor. Probably the highlight.We also at at the property and the food was very mediocre. Dont recommend eating on property.

Stayed at the Welk on a promo.WORST “RESORT” EVER!!! DO NOT GO. STAY FAR AWAY!!The room was dirty, the pool was dirty, awful customer service!! The pool had bloody bandaids on the floor (barf) the pans and toaster were all dirty and scratched!? The floors were sticky. It was horrible. No one answered the phones and took and hour to get someone to bring up a pan that wasn’t in such terrible condition. No signal on our phones whatsoever!? Literally CANT MAKE ANY CALLS TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU HAVE WIFI CALLING.We brought our Vitamix blender from home, realized we left it in the room after we left. Called a bunch of times so we could get it back and just kept getting transferred with no help from front desk. Told to fill out a form online. No one ever called back. So I had to keep calling. Finally someone went to check the room and said it wasn’t there and no one reported it missing. Someone from there stole our blender!DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!! STAY AWAY!!BY FAR, THE WORST “RESORT”Please, go to a Hilton resort if you want a clean, beautiful, actual resort of quality who has good customer service and care.Currently at the MarBrisa by Hilton in Carlsbad (a TRILLION TIMES BETTER)The Welk was by far the most disappointing and upsetting stay at a resort I’ve ever had the displeasure of staying at. If I could rate this experience with zero stars, I absolutely would. This has been by far the MOST horrendous hotel experience of my entire life. Firstly, upon checking in, we were directed to a room that was quite literally underground. Walking towards it, the surroundings were dark and gloomy, immediately raising concerns. We had booked a mountain view 1-bedroom villa, but what awaited us was a repulsive, below-par room infested with black mold and emanating a musty odor. For a staggering $580 per night, this was beyond disappointing.Apart from the pervasive mold issue and its accompanying smell, the room bore no resemblance to what was advertised. Instead of a scenic mountain vista, we were greeted with a view of a dreary brick wall in what felt like a dungeon, with inadequate lighting exacerbating the dismal ambiance. Upon promptly reporting the matter within 10 minutes of check-in, we were met with indifference and resistance. Initially conversing with Linda, she brushed off our concerns, suggesting futilely that we could visit the front office, albeit implying it would be pointless due to the holiday weekend rush. Her insinuation that a holiday weekend justified subjecting a family with young children to such unsanitary conditions was utterly reprehensible.Refusing to accept this treatment, I escalated the matter to corporate, despite Lindas dismissive stance. It took engaging with ten different individuals before circling back to Linda, who attempted to deflect blame onto me before finally conceding there was a manager available to address our grievances. This 2.5-hour ordeal not only robbed us of our time but also underscored the establishments relentless pursuit of profit at the expense of customer satisfaction. Despite their persistence in downplaying the severity of the situation, I refused to relent, as it was a matter of principle. After enduring all of this, I promptly returned our keys and departed. Without a shadow of a doubt, I can affirm that I will never set foot in this establishment again!

Great location, staff are helpful and courteous. Villa is very nicely furnished and clean, all amenities needed for cooking in. Canyon Grille has amazing salmon, staff are spot on, and bartender was awesome. Fitness gym has everything for a good workout. Choose your time to go. Never have to leave the resort if you do not want to. Will be playing disc golf. The course is immaculate, nice intermediate course. There is nothing but good things to say. Im not sure why anyone would complain about this lovely spot.

Check in experience is abysmal. However staff are really nice. Rooms are great very clean, noisy dishwashers :). Resort has great pools that are heated. Golf next door. Out of the way but nice and quiet. Would go here again but would be more prepared for a poor and delayed check in experience.Cell phones dont work well here due to the terrain. Wifi works fine, not overly fast but no problem for email or zoom etc.

I used to tag along with my friend whose parents had a time share here while growing up and it was always so much fun but this last trip was disappointing. The rooms are a bit outdated but are still nice and functional. We enjoyed the tub and double shower. However the rest was below average which was so sad considering how great this place used to be before it was bought out.The sheets, the top sheet and loose sleeping sheet and fitted sheet had multiple blood stains on them. Not a big deal for top sheet since it comes off anyways but if you see stains don’t put the linens on the bed? It’s common sense.The stairs smelled like rotten eggs leading up to our room.The service was just not there. 0/5 if that were an option. Upon check in and out no one greeted us or asked us what we needed, and they made us move to another desk for a parking pass on the other side of the room when they could have just handed it to me. It was just weird and awkward and didn’t need to be. The door to the security building was locked and had a sign up to call the number. I called and someone came from inside and let me in. If you’re there and working and clocked in why is the door locked? Unfortunately I misplaced a personal item and I needed to file a report. The general attitude of the staff being unhelpful and uncaring leads me to believe they never even looked for it. They also told us the live band would be the original band multiple times because we asked multiple times (didn’t believe them lol) but it was a cover band after all AND tickets not included.Overall, the quality is mid range if that. It’s probably 2 star average or less if I had to guess, coming from someone actively working in the luxury hotel and hospitality field at a 5 star hotel and spa. Quality service is nonexistent. Area is beautiful and it is sad to think Hyatt will renovate and up charge. The hotel would do great if the people there actually cared or even tried to pretend to. No reason to come back for us and not really an ideal location if you’re visiting to experience San Diego because Escondido is a 45 minute minimum drive away anyways.

I stayed there this month from the 12-15th, the resort is nice, not the best swimming pools but the greenery was beautiful but we were SO UPSET to be charged an EXTRA $500 because they ASSUMED we had a dog. We DON’T have a dog, my husband has terrible allergies, we can never have one, we HAVE NO PETS WHATSOEVER how come they charged us without checking anything with us while we were in the property? We are VERY disappointed!!!

I have visited this location many times, one time I even had paid for access for a couple years. Unfortunately doesnt meet standards you would expect. This month I visited and the kitchen was barely stocked. Didnt even have bowls for cooking which I found unusual. Attempted to use three different grills on-site and none were operational. We ended up cooking stove top instead which was not preferred. Rooms are much smaller in Village on the Greens units, so be aware. Expect a long wait at the lobby. I had a friend attempt to get a parking pass but waiting a long time since its the same line they use at Reception to convince people to attend presentations.

Largely a great experience at the Hyatt Vacation Club at The Welk! The rooms were spacious and have an absolutely incredible view that cannot be matched. The resort itself is quiet and tucked away from the downtown area.To hit on a couple callouts from previous reviews:-The check-in process is a bit slow, largely due to there only being a few people working the front desk. As others have mentioned, the employees themselves were nothing but wonderful, but expect to wait in line for a little bit before getting checked in.-We stayed in Titon Villas and did not have any issues with the wifi connectivity. I was able to work and take video calls while on a VPN and did not experience any interruptions.-The kitchenette had everything that was needed to make some simple meals. As we were only in a single bedroom, there were only four place settings, so be prepared to wash dishes if eating back-to-back meals.-We had food from the Pizza Hut Express on site, which was nothing spectacular and a bit pricey, but as to be expected from resort food. We didn’t eat at any of the other on-site facilities, but instead opted for local restaurants in downtown Escondido.-Location is great as it is nice and quiet while still being relatively close to nearby major cities. San Diego is about a 45 minute drive, while parts of LA can be reached in under 2 hours. Prepare yourself to sit in traffic, though, as one accident on 15 can back traffic up for miles.Overall, The Welk was perfect for a low-key couples vacation and offered plenty to do in a short driving distance.

Stayed in a 2-bedroom unit in the Resort Villas section of the property. It was a bit away from the main reception centers and pools but the tennis/pickleball courts and fitness center were across from my unit. This resort has plenty of amenities and activities for guests to do. I like that they have a recreation center in each section of the property since they have many different areas. The rec center has pool tables, foosball tables, air hockey, arcade games and life size checkers, chess, and Jenga. There are 8 pools throughout the resort and two of them have water slides. They claim the pools to be heated but upon checking not all of them are so best to check before you dive in. Or plan to go on a hot sunny day. The unit I stayed in is spacious and open. Some of the decor is outdated such as the rugs, kitchen cabinets, and countertops. The appliances are also a bit old. But the overall feel is homey and all the rooms and bathrooms were clean upon check-in. It’s about 45 mins to an hour from San Diego so a little further away from the main attractions.

WOULD NEVER RECOMMENDThese rooms are poorly maintained with many items that do not function well. In my two-night stay, the slider door was impossible to open and close, the toilet rocked, the shower never turned fully off, the paint on most baseboards were peeling, the living room TV kept turning on and off on its own, the ice maker in the fridge didn’t work, and there was NO WIFI OR CELL PHONE SIGNAL in the room (I needed to leave the room for calls and email). NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE: I rang the front desk about a dozen times but either the phone repeatedly rang with no answer or there was a long, long line at the desk that never seemed to move and I couldn’t wait. When I wrote them regarding how awful my experience was, I received no response. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - there are plenty of other places to stay that cost lots less.

I came to one of their travel marketing “ time share” meetings. This was my first experience in one of these meeting so I recommend asking a lot of questions if you are truly interested in pursuing it. The staff were very nice, however, they definitely know how to make you feel the pressure to commit to their vacation club. Just know you can always say no.As for the free gifts the smaller gifts, such as the Hornblower cruise and the wine tasting seem legitimate, however, the larger gifts such as the free travel have controversial reviews. The company (Casablanca Express) they partner with to provide and plan your trip is a scam. After doing research I found that they have countless bad reviews on several platforms and have even been sued for stealing peoples money. Personally I would not want to go into business with a company that associates with a scam because it shows their true intentions.I have reached out to Hyatt vacation club over this matter and I will update this post when I receive a response. I hope Hyatt can rectify this and reclaim some trust with their costumers.

EPITOME OF MISMANAGEMENTStayed a night @ Welk resort Escondido, CA, which is a time share property with Hyatt. Soon after booking was approached by the resort that offered plethora of benefits including additional night, additional experience - lot of things under the sun and was so welcoming.Checked in late in evening 7:30 pm and was made to wait despite three front desk agents of which only one seemed to be working.I was told by the front desk that late check out would not be a problem just call in the morning.Called in the morning requesting check out later than 10 AM as everyone was exhausted, was bluntly told that we don’t offer any extended time and we are super busy etc. All pleas with tired small kids difficult to be woken up went in vain. I called again to see if status with world of Hyatt mattered to them but they didn’t care for Hyatt and the tone for world of Hyatt was derogatory at the best! Further probing they said for globalist they may offer 30 mins additional time for check out. I reminded them of how their resort/Hyatt reached out to me with slew of benefits and were so welcoming. Manager sounded oblivious and displaced it to the marketing department- “it’s not us, marketing may have said it”. Needless to say, they had no respect for “Hyatt”, hospitality or what customer care even means. They indulged in double (triple) speak with each member saying something different. Almost appeared a “bait and switch” program with sugar coated talks prior to the stay only to make you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Needless to say, we rushed out of that place by 10 am else who knew they would’ve called security for our removal even a minute beyond 10.Our staycation was ruined beyond repair leaving us aghast at the indifference and worse disrespecting attitude no customer should ever face. So if you need some wake up from the world of hospitality experienced elsewhere and need thrashing down to feel unwelcomed- you found your place. Epitome of how to lose customers let alone anyone signing up for timeshare for a long term relationship! Signup at your own peril. Hard product may be decent, but their service just drove everything into the ground. I updated the world of Hyatt about their name at stake - with such a property (mis)management. I wish I had an option of zero if not negative stars.Update: Just because above mistreatment was not enough- they charged us for the room for a free reward night. My wife and I got sucked in for a free 2 night vacation to Cabo or Hawaii plus flights at the Long Beach Grand Prix if we attended the Hyatt Vacation Club sales pitch. We sat through the pitch and they gave us a voucher to go on the trip. A voucher you have to send back with the U.S. post service plus a $100 check, no credit cards accepted. Something seamed fishy so before sending the voucher in I did some research and found out the company has 1 star yelp, trust pilot, and bbb reviews and if you get the vacation it’s also 1 star with super late night flights there and super early flights back. I emailed Ryland who sold us a stay at the vacation club and he called me right away. I told him the dilemma and he said he would take care of it. I sent a follow up email and have not heard anything back. Beware the free vacations they offer for attending their sales pitches are not through Hyatt and they do not back them in any way. Don’t waste your time to be ripped off by Hyatt’s vacation club which has a 2k yearly maintenance fee that goes up 6% every year. Thanks for wasting our time Hyatt!!

Just a bit further south from Temecula, adjacent to a sprawling golf course.Check-in at the main building, get directed to an adjacent desk to get your parking pass, then drive to your building.Pretty bad experience here. Multiple times, front desk would not pick up the phone. We asked for some bathroom amenities that we were told would be there in 10min - never showed up. Asked for a pack and play which finally arrived over 2h after check-in, left sealed on the floor outside our room, not assembled. We were not allowed to request this in advance for some reason.Cell tower issue in the region which meant no phone signal and somehow no wifi or TV which was a disaster when traveling with a small child. We got a cold response saying no comps are provided for “non-hotel” issues. TV remote in the bedroom did not work.Room was thankfully clean, but the bottle of body wash in the shower was completely empty - guess this isnt part of the room turnover..?We asked for late check-out which are our perks for being a hyatt member but were instead told we needed to be out the room by 10a. Never heard of a check-out time so early. As a result didnt even use the resort amenities for which we pay $20 surcharge.Overall, property is fine but service is really disappointing and I wont be staying here again.

I cannot believe how nasty the rooms have becoming on the past 3 years. Last time was especially disappointing because there was a pee on the mattress pad, and that thing smelled bad that kept me awake and uncomfortable throughout the night. Pillows smelled like a sweaty scalp so strong that caused me nausea, I asked to change room, and it smelled like a combination of pee, mold, and Marijuana all together. I dont stay on Motel 6 for a reason, but lately, welks, especially on the mountain villas, are almost compared. on the greens is better. There was just one experience with blood on the covers and dead cockroaches on the floor. Nothing big. I had to ask for the housekeeping to come and they were so nice and changed. The front desk was rude, and the salesperson dont care about your experience unless you spend 50K buying a timeshare that will help them to achieve their goals. They are sooooo greedy for money that your actually well-being doesnt matter. Last time, when I stayed there, I shared my experience during the presentation and in front of you they tell you they care but as soon when the lady walked out and asked her manager if I could change rooms, she asked did she purchased the timeshare? The attendant said no, and her reply was, Then no. By that time, I thought with 50K, I can travel many times around the world and go whatever I want to and stay in a good high scale hotel room without dirty and smelly inconvenience.

I picked this resort because on the Internet it looks absolutely beautiful and to be honest with you. It is in a beautiful area. San Diego is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. But this resort was very old outdated and at least the room we had was not very good. They were cracked in the counter in the kitchen, there is definitely some cleaning that should’ve been done. There was tissue in the peep hole which totally scared us and creeped us out and the lighting is old and outdated. Because we came at night and the door cards didn’t work we had to go up and down the stairs with our luggage, which was extremely frustrating because there’s no Internet to contact the front desk which you have to drive like a mile to. So make sure that your keys work but I did overhear the girl at the front counter saying that they were having problems with this room before. We should have asked for another room, but we didn’t because we were so exhausted. I honestly would not recommend this hotel and I am embarrassed to give a bad rating but if you’re traveling with your child. And you’re worried about safety, this room was definitely kind of creepy. Maybe it was the lighting, maybe it was because it was old and outdated, maybe it was the crack in the counter, maybe it was the tissue poking out of the peep hole. On a positive note, it was in a beautiful setting. Also, my son wanted to take a shower/bath in the hot tub and there was a whole bunch of mold in the spouts for the bathtub so I told him it was not clean enough for him to take a bath that he could’ve gotten sick from the mold and mildew.

Perfect place for a weekend getaway. We had a one bedroom villa with plenty of space to be comfortable for a family of four. The pools are beautiful and the water slides were a big hit for keeping the kids happy and entertained without needing to leave the property. Large kitchen with everything you need to cook. Our deck was my favorite, table and two rocking Adirondack Chairs with gorgeous views. The restaurant was on the pricey side but the food was satisfactory and service was great. There is also a Pizza Hut which is helpful for lunch. We spent 3 nights and didn’t get to everything, this place is huge! Definitely exceeded expectations. Hope to be back again soon!

Spent a wonderful week at this resort in one of the Shenandoah 2 bed/2 bath Villas.Plenty of room, super clean, and very quiet.Upon arrival we were greeted by a smoke detector in one of the bedrooms that was chirping every minute due to a dying battery.The engineering team came out super fast with a ladder big enough to reach the vaulted ceiling where the detector was at and replaced the battery.They also double checked everything in the villa while theyre were there to make sure everything was in proper working order before leaving. Highly appreciated that!We ate at the Canyon Grille a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The burger was fantastic and their wraps were very tasty.1st time we ordered in. Werent able to have it delivered to the room which was a little surprising. They were able to text photos of the current menu to my cell for us to order from and the order was ready by the time we got to the restaurant.Which was where we found their cute little bar!Val was an amazing bartender who impressed me with her organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to make anything without batting an eye. Super friendly and makes a wicked Old Fashioned!Darlisa was another employee we encountered who was very friendly and made us feel welcome.By our 2nd visit there we felt so welcome by both Val and Darlisa it was almost like being one of the many regulars that come in.We enjoyed our stay so much that weve already booked our next trip!Only improvements I would have like were, stronger water pressure in the shower and the option for a later checkout time.

Beautiful grounds, has a golf course, pools and hot tubs. There was a small outdoor market on Monday and live music on Tuesday I believe with a bbq $10 per person. Restaurant on site only open on Wed, otherwise theres a pizza hut express. There were also some activities, painting and ice cream Sundays one night for $5 ea. It is a 20+min drive to Escondido and 35 min to Oceanside, the closest beach. We ended up driving every day for the week we were there. Overall, it was quiet and very clean, the 2br room had a full kitchen with dishes, pots/pans and silverware and washer/dryer in room with soap n dryer sheets provided. Each room had a TV with a 3rd in the common area and a large deck with access from the common area and 2br.

My parents have been owners for over 25 years. They actually have ownership in two weeks in two different units and one unit is now shared between three of us siblings. Something has drastically changed since Hyatt has taken over. This is the first time we have ever arrived and our unit-our week was given to someone else and we were placed in a unit elsewhere on the property. This has never happened - we have ownership in a specific unit for this exact week every year and it was given to someone else. Our unit has a place for our kids to play in the back yard, is close to a pool and basketball court and we were placed next to the golf course where the kids cant play and we have to walk a long distance to the other amenities. Not an even trade. When we tried to talk to someone about it they said, they would not make it right and we had a unit and should be happy with it. They did nothing, offered nothing. It was the strangest and poorest customer service. The property is also just not the same - pools are cold, hot tubs have jets not working, less hours where the slides are open, less activities offered to families and every extra activity now has an extra charge. We heard from others we met in a hot tub that everyone was upset the day they checked in and they have never seen anything like it. We have always loved this resort and are really hoping these poor reviews that are numerous over the recent months will help Hyatt step up and bring back the level of service and care to its owners and guests that we once had with Lawrence Welk Resorts!

Being a Resort, in Southern Cali, they should really work on saving and recycling water as much as possible. The pools were dirty and not maintained.Upon checking in, we had No Bathtub!!!When escaping on a retreat, vacation, you want to relax, rejuvenate, and soak in a Hot Bath.Kids and families are usually out at the hot tubs, so minimal on peace.The sales staff!!! Wow!!Most ignorant, self righteous, arrogant bunch of snoby Snobs Ever!!They dont like the answer No!So I told them Hell No!!Dont recommend buying into that bullcrap, Ever!!Couldnt even get Robes, which they said theyd provide Upon request!Theres not alot to do, unless you have 400 dollars for a facial, and pedi at the Spa, or 500 for golfing!Do not recommend!

Unfortunate experience at what could be a really nice resort. We stayed in the older rooms located on the golf course (2 BR Suite called “Irene”). The room felt very, very dated. There was cobwebs and spiders throughout. My wife woke up in a rash our 2nd night. Carpet and furniture was heavily used and dirty. One of the sinks in the master bedroom was plugged with water and unusable. The outlets were old and didn’t retain plugs (annoying as heck). The blinds in the guest room didn’t close. The dishwasher leaked a ton of water when ran and was heavily worn inside. The restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday (the market opened at 8am but ran out of eggs. The only breakfast place close by is a gas station. Since the location is kind of remote be aware of this especially if you run out of food and have young kids with you. The pool snack bar is only open Fri-Sun. Jacuzzi needs a refresh and jets don’t work. BBQ I tried to use didn’t light. The fishing pond had zero fish (could be user error I’ll admit but based on everything else wouldn’t be surprised if pond is empty ;). Pros: lots of pools and different rec centers. Great waking trails around resort. Sometimes security staffs hotel entrance. Nice sitting areas throughout. Plenty of parking. Well landscaped areas. No way in hell I would buy a timeshare here based on our stay.

The staff was wonderful, but they were woefully understaffed.One of the water slides was down for maintenance for a week, the grills at the pools have winter schedules which wasnt advertised, the menu at the grills when they were open consisted of 4 items, and sold out quickly. Raccoons got into trash which was left out and despite calling it in, no one came for it for 2 nights. The shower was pretty gnarly, and there were bugs in the cupboards. Not a ton, because they got into our food, The pic attached shows a couple of them.All that being said, the grounds are very well kept, the scheduled activities were fun and well organized, the facilities were clean and everyone who was working there really did the best they could, considering the short staffing issue.I dont think we will go back. It wasnt a terrible experience overall, but as parents, we deal with little fires all the time in real life. As a Hyatt Globalist, I would suggest anyone with this elite status to stay away from Hyatt Vacation Club. There was no benefit at all. No late checkout, no complimentary breakfast and drinks. No welcome snacks and gifts. The staff were slowly and lazy. They would ignore the long line of customers who had waited for one hour and just left the desk to the back room without any explanation. When I asked for any Globalist benefits, the front desk lady and the manager had no idea what it was. This place is nestled in the mountains of Escondido, beautiful views & a super serene feel! We enjoyed a full exchange week with Interval International and had lovely weather. I was surprised how loud the Hwy 15 noise was, though! We had an issue right away with our coffee maker and after 3 coffee makers had a winner! The refrigerator was running very loud but maintenance took care of that and a towel bar that had fallen down. A few other small things, like poor lighting and some slates on the window coverings were no big deal but seemed a bit tacky. The furniture looked like it could use a good steam clean. Beautiful location. We went for a owner presentation (time share) and they put us in their older rooms. The room was absolutely terrible. Half the outlets didnt work, dirty bath tub, cracks and holes literally on every wall, etc. We were told they are all being renovated but, were really just being sold on something we cannot see. Most of the staff we dealt with, aside from sales people, could use some friendliness training as well. Wont go back, sadly. Had a fun time at least by checking out local places outside of the resort.

Quiet location, easily accessible from I-15.They have a great farmers market on Monday, nice theater setup and several (5 or 6) community rec centers and pools for each different area of the resort. Loved the access to outdoor grills at each building.Super friendly, nice, polite staff who are super helpful but slow to produce. Example - Temps were 100+, our AC wasnt working, for 24 hours. Said theyd send a guy right up - 2 hours later called again - so sorry, well send a guy right up - one hour later - so sorry, hes here now, Ill send him right over - another hour he finally arrived. Couldnt fix it, brought us fans to get through the night. 20 hours later it was repaired. Delays because engineering is having lunch, engineering is on break, engineering is having dinner. Family of 5 melting. Anyhow, finally resolved it, the rest of the stay was great. Our 2br suite was terrific. Overall, very nice stay once the AC issue was resolved, highly recommend.

The property is beautiful and our room was nice except for the filthy bathroom. We had a wheelchair accessible room which was fine. The shower was completely open in the room but the tile floor was disgusting. When you shower the huge bathroom floor is then completely soaked to all four walls. We had to put shoes on to use the restroom which was still soaked 8 hours later. There is no late checkout at all, leave by 10 thats it. There is no cell service but you can use wi-fi calling, just dont bother calling the hotel they dont pick up. Our door lock batteries died with us locked out. The 2 girls that worked the desk never ever pick up the phone so I called and called and had to drive down to the empty lobby to interrupt their conversation to ask for help, several times. Then they sent maintenance to the wrong unit so we were locked out for an hour.

To pick a word to describe this place, it would be Meh. While it has easy access to I-15, unless you are hoping to see more of I-15, it has very little else around it.We were in the old section, which is a little rundown (our stove had a broken burner and everything was dated). They showed us the new units, and while they say they plan to bring everything up to that level, I suspect everything will come down to the run down level with time.While there were multiple pools, only 2 of them were beyond what you would expect as a neighborhood pool, and they were both very crowded. There is a golf course there, but it looked to be a par-3 course, and had a lot of algae in the ponds.There are only a couple of places to eat on site, and when we tried the Canyon Grill, it was overpriced, and the food was not all that good. There are also no spices or condiments in the condos themselves, so if you plan to cook while you are here, make sure you bring everything you need.I should say we came on a $199 for 3 nights deal to attend a timeshare presentation. We have done a lot of these, and let them know upfront that we were sitting through the presentation, but not interested in buying. They had a follow-up sales attempt when you leave to try to sell you another 3-night stay elsewhere, and that sales person was very miffed that we would not take it (bordering on rude).

We spent 5 nights in a 3 bedroom mountain villa and had no issues at all. The unit appeared to be recently updated and was very clean and well stocked. There were 8 of us staying so getting extra supplies and towels happened a few times without any issues. The overall grounds were very clean and there was constant buzz of activity from associates doing their jobs. We booked our room back in the fall for this trip and were concerned with some of the reviews we were reading, but none of that appeared to be what we experienced. This was our first stay here. We found it through Hyatt and decided to stay here primarily because we could use credit card points. To be honest if I could, I would give this place 3 and 1/2 stars. Check in went relatively smoothly until it came time to actually get our room keys. At the time only one of our two rooms were ready and they promised they would text us when the second room was available. Hours later we had still received no text which wasnt a huge deal because we had plans that evening but we had to call to ensure that we werent going to be coming back to the resort with no second room. Not a deal breaker but definitely annoying. Our rooms were perfectly serviceable, although they did show signs of wear and tear. I will say I never understand why places like this assume only four people will ever be using the dishes, silverware or drinking glasses. I know its shocking, but some families and some people do travel with more than four people total. Again, not a deal breaker, just annoying. That said, they had no problem texting me the reminder of what time checkout was! As other reviewers stated, if youre planning to do any sort of major cooking, you will need to bring your own stuff. Our unit only had salt, pepper, one skillet, and two sauce pans along with very limited cooking utensils. So either come prepared with your own cooking stuff, or be prepared to spend money on eating out. Which is also limited on the property. There is one restaurant, one Pizza Hut, and a very limited market that is extremely expensive. The nearest grocery store is about 20 minutes away.We found the overall resort very peaceful, very pleasant. We loved the location, but we also werent looking to spend a lot of time in San Diego. If you are looking to spend time in San Diego, this is not the place for you. Youre easily looking at a 40 minute drive to get into San Diego.My biggest takeaway from our stay here is that The Welk would benefit tremendously if they changed how they communicated the different activities and location of those activities to the people staying at the resort. Yes, they hand you a map and in theory that map should be enough to let you know where you can go to do stuff. But truly, it is not sufficient. We ended up driving from clubhouse to clubhouse to get a better understanding as to what each one offered and where they were. While you can take a trolley to and from all of these places, it appeared that driving yourself is much more efficient. The Welk really needs to have a brochure that breaks everything down. For example, you want the water slides? Then you need to go to this pool or this pool. You want to play tennis? You need to go to this clubhouse. You want to go fishing? You need to go to this clubhouse. Their map has so much stuff on it that it makes it impossible to know where you can find your activity. On top of that, calling the front desk to get more information proves to be equally frustrating because no one answers. When I called the concierge to find out where we could rent equipment for something they didnt know either! I was finally redirected to the golf pro shop who is able to give me information although they were not who I needed to actually speak to. I just found the resort not overly user friendly so to speak.I will say, if youre planning to come here and stay make sure you come prepared. Anything you may forget at home and dont want to drive 20 minutes to get, becomes very expensive to buy on site if they have it. Example sunscreen. A full-size bottle of sunscreen at their market was almost $17! Consider yourself warned. Outside of that, our stay was pleasant and we enjoyed the two days that we were here. It was worth coming once to experience it but what I use points again to revisit? No.

We spent a week here in a 2 bedroom condo. The condo was spacious and well maintained. This is a golf resort so most condos look out on a fairway which gives you plenty to watch when sitting on your patio. Service was very good when we experienced an ice maker that did not work. It was fixed and making ice in less than 24 hours. Amenities include several pools, a fantastic gym, play areas along with good recreation centers. A good central location about half way between LA and San Diego. Nice place which we will use again.

An older timeshare golf resort that is starting to show its age. There are several pools and rec centers, half of which are new, the other half are decaying. Everything onsite closes at 8pm, shuttles stop at 7pm, and there are NO LIGHTS along sidewalks to walk around - after 8:30 the place is dark. Activities for kids and families that used to be free or available to walk-ups now require booking, which are always completely booked up far in advance, usually well before you learn about that at registration.

I wished it was a bit closer to the things we went to (beaches and Seaworld), but if youre wanting some family time away and not leave this place, you could do that here and be happy. Quiet location. Basically a golf resort with retail and kid areas attached. Each housing zone has its own pool area with a lean-staffed food kiosk so leave time for the (often) lone cook to work. Pool was great (water is recycled) but reserve a cabana if you can due to crowded public seating and lack of shade. Rooms are clean but dated. (The resort is named after Golden Age actor Lawrence Welk after all.) Staff can be great, given how much is put on their shoulders. Views are beautiful, the Welk is on my list of local escapes.

Awkward, inexperienced, and seemingly miserable looking staff (except the housekeeping staff, very welcoming). Followed by flights of stairs with our luggage getting into our suite.Both sofa bed (barely working) and pillows (in the closet) were dirty with stains, found a dead spider upon opening the sofa bed, master bedroom bed was very squeaky, curved in the middle, very uncomfortable. Had a 5yo, but there was no bathtub (another surprise for a 1br suite). Thought about asking for a room change, but this room alone took 2 hours and was not ready till 6pm, not your typical 4pm easy check-in; and given the awkward, unhelpful atmosphere of the staff, didn’t even want to ask. Quickly realized this wasn’t your typical hotel stay. Looks like a lot of it are timeshares and I was offered an incentive for a tour as well, to of course I declined.Asked poolside minibar if they had bottles of water because we ran out, but simply said no other than having her own, without really giving me any alternatives. Smiled and didn’t inquire further. Most staff to me felt like they didn’t want to be bothered or take ownership. I don’t fuss, I walk away. You get the gist. I can see why it was acquired (or was it bailed out?), seeing as the property has been on a decline for a long time, poorly systemized.

I love that it was quiet and full of respectful people. Everyone was friendly. The 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom unit was large with a full kitchen, oven, dishwasher and microwave. It even had an electric water kettle for tea drinkers like me (and perfect for making hot cocoa). The air conditioner worked amazingly in 93 degree fall weather. We were cool and comfortable all day and night. Id like to know what brand air conditioning unit they had because I want it for my house! The architecture was very unique and very well laid out. Theres a good sized living room with wall mounted flat screen TV and cable - we enjoyed a night full of Americas Funniest Weather with some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and milk. The next night, we took the courtesy trolly/golf cart to the Canyon Cafe and had an excellent dinner. Sure, service was a bit slow and dinner took 2 hours, but we had an amazing experience. The food was good, too. Just dont go expecting rush, rush, rush and you will be fine.

I love Hyatt, and I was so excited about staying here. But I was a little bit disappointed with Welk.I am not sure if its because we stayed at the harmony Hill section of the welk, but everything was so old and falling apart. The rugs looked dirty and worn, and we had ants as our co- residents. My little one kept finding them in his bed, on the floor, on the side tables, and we found some on our bed as well. Also in the kitchen and sitting room areas. We also had paint just coming off of the bathroom wall.A few things we enjoyed about this place was the swimming pool and water slides for kids and the hiking opportunities for those who love to hike. It also has a nice golf course ( we did not use it), and I loved that they have a lot of entertainment on site like a theater and games for kids at certain times at the different villas and they seemed to have little vending machine and kiosks In the rec center that you can purchase basic things from without having to travel outside of the welk villas.All in all, we had a wonderful time but may not return.

It is very dated and desperately needing updates (Being done) on other units not available to us. Photos will show the unit we stayed in and the needed updates. Upon getting to our unit outside trash and old towels were still at the entrance, as usual we check the beds... Hair under the covers, the smell in the room was like it had been empty for awhile, no air running. Cracks in the tile, missing thresholds between the tile and carpet. Unfinished things in the shower, missing picture on the kitchen wall, unpainted wall in the bedroom, dirty dishes in the cabinets. I would say even though we had reported this nothing was ever done about the problems. I know the tile and missing thresholds or pictures or paint could and would not be fixed Im not crazy. But the hair in the bed I found and not just a Hair... It was like they cut their hair in the bed 🤢Was never addressed! What I paid for the week I just cleaned it myself. If I paid what they wanted for the week I would have been in a very upgraded room for sure!Quality is definitely coming since Hyatt did buy the property they have been updating other rooms and what I did see updated is more to the name. But that is a ways off, if you book here make sure you ask for a updated room and if you are traveling with elderly or have problems going up steps or down steps make sure you ask for a room that has no steps to. Also if you have AT&T your cells will not work while in the rooms( well where we were at). We did do the 90 min presentation for tickets to the San Diego zoo/ Safari well worth it. I would ask for Jesse and James... Yes Jesse James.. 🤣 Ruben who gives the whole 90 min presentation is top notch speaker. We do this all the time and this is the 1st time I felt like this was genuine. No pressure at all! Shame on Welk, or is it shame on Hyatt? We have been owners at Welk Resorts-Escondido-for 35 years. Since Hyatt(4 stars??) took ownership the quality has decreased, while our yearly maintenance fees have increased. Broken fixtures, missing and/or worn appliances/cookware, rotting wood on and underneath kitchen cabinets, spiders and bugs inside the unit, skunks outside, and dirty walkways into condo. How about that (tiny) TV? While the remodel of the bathrooms is lovely, the weekly guest was not considered in the master bath remodel. A simple ring to hold hand towels near the sink would be a nice touch, as well as a drawer for makeup under the vanity. One small vanity top for 2+ peoples necessities is just not enough. Ive called management on more than one occasion with questions, issues, etc. with, manager is busy, and a promised call back that didnt happen. Ive yet to speak to a manager. We had a quick get away and decided to splurge on a nice 2 bedroom suite. We drove up from LA and arrived at 12 (we requested early check in). It was 105 degrees and they said they would do our best and by 4:30 we got to check in. The room was okay, good sized kitchen but very squeaky beds wlthay were not very comfortable.We headed to the slides but found that they closed by 7 so decided tomorrow was another day. We went down at 10 and they were closed till 11. I went to the front desk and requested a later check out as we had a kitchen full of cold items and wanted the kids to enjoy some pool time before we leftThey held right to a 10 am checkout, I mentioned that we got checked in late and paid 900$ and never got to use the slide. He said I could put my stuff in storage.Finally we went to the pool And my youngest went to the slide to be told he was too short. We went to the doctor that week and he measured over 42 inches. He was tall enough.Lots of nos at this location and little effort to make your stay better. For $900 I would expect better service and not run down rooms

I have had a timeshare for about 5 years now but yet to use it. We are using it for the first time this weekend and I am extremely disappointed. The pictures on the website for a one bedroom are NOTHING like what they put us in! On the website it shows a full kitchen separate from the living room. What they gave us had the kitchen, dining room, and living room all squished into a small square room of about 8 by 10. It is the tiniest place Ive seen. Definitely NOT what is pictured on the website and NOT the 1 bedroom that we toured when they sold us on the timeshare. VERY deceiving. Also everything in our room is SO outdated and old looking. The edges of the carpet look super worn and dust caked in them. The dishwasher was SO DISGUSTING! So full of hard water stains, built up detergent and even a dirty knife in it still from the previous tenant! The sheets feel like plastic, the blankets are old and thin, and the towels are thin and feel like cardboard. There were only 3 hangers for clothes. The shower doesnt work properly. The bathroom door doesnt lock.VERY DISAPPOINTINGNot a luxury resort by any means. I could find a hotel nicer and more spacious.

Have a timeshare through here and its become more run down year after year. Its overcrowded and understaffed. The fun pool for kids has had a bee problem for years. The game rooms are filled with broken machines and missing parts/pieces. The golf course is no different and theyre running groups back-to-back-to-back making you feel completely rushed. STAY AWAY

Invest 15k in an experience you say. The grounds upon initial arrival are beautiful. But my stay was not the best at all. For the amount of money people are investing in buying into this vacation life, the fact that we were without power for several hours was a travesty. Being in a remote location, not having any phone service, nor being able to reach the front desk felt like something from a horror film. In addition to the power outage for what this place charges per night, they should at least be able to update their room amenities. The food was terrible, the market was overpriced, and the owner presentation was literally a guy crying begging you to buy into their vacation program. I was told I would receive a $100 visa gift card when I first arrived, I did not. I was told that I had tickets to see a play that was showing, they told me I should not have received them. The hospitality at this place was terrible, I received a ticket on my car even though I was a guest staying there for several days. Again at first glance it looks like the place to be but after my stay, I will not be returning. Dont be fooled by the eye. Terrible place to visit.

Dannielle and her peers, Louisas crew are so very welcoming and ready to make aure our stay is the best so of course we will return and look forward to seeing them. Not like the people seeing if you will buy into the Ownership and points. We purchased a package from them and then we wanted to use it less than a year later, 7 months later thst is, we we told it had expired. They would not renew it or issue another as they said they are now under Hyatt and the Dream Vacation package is not available anymore. We asked them to issue something elsto us instead as we did spend money for it, but they were not willing to cooperate.Attempts to speak to their management seem all to go nowhere, not available like the people that work for Louisa that welcomed us.I really think Louisas team should take over the role of encouraging people to become ownwers I am sure they would get many many more owners and then they should teach the people they replace how to handle their guests. I sure the business will increase 10 fold!

The resort was nice, there were lots of activities on-site, and the room was clean (newly remodeled). They have a big game room (that was lots of fun) and we were able to play golf. Decided to come here so a small getaway with my partner and it was perfect. Lots of fun!

The reasoner is dated and really needs a facelift. Room showing signs of wear (ripped and dirty headboard). The cleanliness of the room was sub par at check in. We didn’t have enough towels or shampoo upon check in. The staff is disorganized and doesn’t seem to be knowledgeable about the property they work at. Not sure if they’re tested well by management as staff seems pretty miserable. We requested a two bedroom villa at the time the reservation was made but that was not honored. Finally- the checkin process was long and inefficient. Not sure how this resort falls under the Hyatt umbrella with the lack of customer service and facilities that the resort currently experiences.

Timeshare owner of Welk Resorts. I enjoy staying at this location it’s quite relaxing, morning walks on the golf course and eating out on the balcony. I prefer not to eat at the restaurant here, it’s over priced and prefer to go elsewhere. This location is perfect for families with lil ones. Plenty of pools, water slides and areas to BBQ. Staff is quite friendly a lil annoying they try to schedule you to attend a timeshare presentation but it’s their job.

This is a hidden gem! Nestled in the hills of Escondido. Absolutely beautiful sprawing location. Several pools, beautiful golf courses, and definitely kid friendly. There are adult only pools along with kid friendly pools with recreational centers, including food and pizza, splash pads, and playgrounds. Bike rentals, archery, tennis, basketball, and a farmers market on Mondays. Much more! We stayed in a 2 bed, 2 bath villa with a fully appointed kitchen. Beautiful views of the golf course and hills. I cant wait to go back! Prices are very reasonable

Limited space and availability. This place isn’t exclusive so make sure you know youre paying hundred of dollars monthly while others avoid these nasty fees by not becoming a member.This place is now open to the public and its just a disgrace of what Hyatt has done to welk. Resort is ok. A little dated and certainly overpriced, like everything this summer. But do not stay here if you plan to actually eat here. The food service is beyond terrible; particularly at the pool. Only had one person to take orders and to cook. Took over an hour for a chicken wrap that was premade, four days old and disgusting. Wasn’t the best experience. First thing after checking in you are invited to a Timeshare event/tour. They were not pushy about it. The staff did try to make things right but in the end it just didn’t work out. The first room we arrived at hadn’t been cleaned, so drive back to the front desk and wait in line. They did send someone to help us move to another room. Our son was to sleep on the pull out sofa, the mattress had a big stain on it, we had to call to get blankets for it, which arrived at 10:35pm. Pull a towel from underneath the sink and it has mold on it. Back to the front desk where they reimbursed our resort fee and gave us Resort Credit. Not knowing how to use that we got instructed by the Front Desk. We were able to use it twice but then the computer system went down for the remainder of our stay which means we barely used any of that perk for the inconvenience. Would have been nice if they just took the remainder off our bill since there was now no way to use it. If the resort credit had been reliable, I would give this place 3⭐️.

This golf resort is undoubtedly one of the best options for a family vacation. It offers a wide range of activities and fantastic facilities, while most of the staff are friendly and accommodating. However, I did encounter a few issues during my past two stays:During my first check-in, one of the staff members lacked experience. Despite booking the room through the Hyatt app, she couldnt locate my reservation and initially refused to assist with any options, refund or provide an alternative room. I had to contact Hyatt directly to resolve the matter. After some frustrating interactions, she finally speak with the manager, who discovered more reservation papers in their office. Again she was really nice but just lack of experience I think.If you prioritize a good nights sleep, I recommend booking a villa instead of a suite. On one occasion, the guests in the next room talked loudly until 3 am, disturbing me and my children. We contacted the front desk, and they kindly sent a security guard to request that the noise be reduced. However, three hours of sleep, an early tee time, and a visit to LEGOLAND made me feeling exhausted.The most significant issue that deeply affected my son and may prevent us from returning is as follows: While at the Boulder spring water slide, my son is just half an inch short of the height limit. One of the male guard with long hair/pony tail stop him from playing, at first he was politely telling my son he cant play and apologize to him, I understand the need for the guard to enforce safety protocols, but it was disheartening to witness a little girl, who was just as small and even skinnier than my son, being granted permission to play with a wrist band. My son informed the guard that he had previously been allowed on the mountain slide with a wristband. In response, the guard sternly told my son that he should not be on the slide and even communicated his appearance to someone via walkie-talkie telling them not to let my son get on the slides. I found this unnecessary, as did the people behind us who commented on the guards harsh treatment of the little boy. Consequently, my son cried for a long time and expressed his desire to go home and dont want to come back again even if he reaches the required height of 42 inches. While I acknowledge the guards responsibility for ensuring everyones safety, I believe there could have been a fairer and more considerate approach. We still have a few tournaments at the Welk Resort, but I feel compelled to seek alternative accommodation.

We had high hopes for this place. The first night we were there we had blood stain on our clean white towels. Theres a big crack in the wall next to the sliding door. The phone service is so spotty we couldnt even use our phones in the room even with the free Wi-Fi they offer. We got a parking violation because the person at the front desk didnt give us a pass. My family was kind enough to invite us to The Welk Resort for a 3-night stay. They got a good price from probably a social media page. You know the one that pulls you in. The check-in process was quick, but they really want you to purchase, we weren’t on the list so they even offered us a trip to Hawaii for two in exchange to sit in a presentation. Beautiful manicured resort with ton of activities to keep guests of all ages busy. Our group had kids as well as adults and we all found something to interest us. Kids did some rock climbing, played pickle ball and used the escape room. Adults had yoga classes, golf and tennis. Staff was helpful and were accommodating if we needed exceptions. I was here in December. Not staying in the hotel but bringing my boyfriend lunch. I was pregnant and needed to use the restroom immediately so I went to the restrooms on the golf course beside housekeeping. The floor was covered in mud and human waste after not being cleaned for who knows how long. As soon as I walked through the door, I immediately fell backwards and slammed into the door hitting my head and hurting my hip. I lost my daughter in February. Do the math on your own. They were not worried about me and dismissed what happened. They were more worried if I was going to sue them than they were about my health and my baby. Im currently dealing with lawyers in order to take care of this incident as they have NEVER reached out to me to replace my shattered phone that was broken during the fall nor to check on me or my child. So here we are, about to be sued. If you are pregnant, please do not risk your unborn babies health by staying in a resort where they genuinely do not care about the safety of their guests nor their pregnant guests. I do believe I lost my child due to this fall as I had no issues otherwise. The Welk/Hyatt will be held responsible for what happened.

I should have trusted other reviews about lack of food/drinks at pool. When we got back to the resort after daily excursions, the snack shops and bars were closed. Canyon Grill closed Mon/Tues. Pool bar closes 630pm, if they are even open that day. Families were scrambling to find meals and drinks. Pizza Hut only option. Ice machine broken on a 95 degree day. Pool areas have trash on ground, water dirty. Bathroom faucet and shower valve in unit needed maintenance. Check-in process in lobby is chaotic. Not acceptible for a Superior resort trying to pitch timeshares.

My opinion and experience is one that compares to other timeshares.Because the timeshare was offered to us as free I do not know if that is the case that the standards were less or below than other places.We found it difficult to locate during the evening darkness. Signage designed to be less conspicuous are located closer to the street level. If unfamiliar with them and the layout of the Welk enormous timeshare, it was not easy to find out unit.When we arrived, most parking spaces near all the buildings were filled. Parking on the outskirts were not well lit. With osteoporosis, I am especially careful of the smoothness and level of streets, parking lots and ability to see in darkness of nights.The unit was located below street level. Walking down stairwell in the evening was not well lit. I held onto the railing while carrying luggage and balancing myself until I landed on the bottom of the stairwell.Luckily once at the bottom, the unit was only about a few feet away. Secondly I noticed there was only one other unit next door on that level. That could mean, it would be quiet. There would not be traffic of people walkingTurned out, the next door unit was used as a storage are. Workers came and went, leaving the door open which allowed us to see piles of items near the doorway. That worked for us, plus no loud noise as they worked!The unit had a nice living room opened to the kitchen. The down side is, since it is compact, moving a set of lovely yet heavy marble tables was not easy for me in order to open up the sofa bed for my elderly 92 years old Mother.The whole unit was nicely designed. Bedroom compact too. Big enough for a King size bed (?) and two smallbedside tables. Thats it. Plus a small closet. Included was a large TV, below it, a dresser. Funny every time I opened the top drawer, the one below it always opened too! I had to close two drawers each time, not one.One aspect I did not like was the bedroom window without any locks! I opened it to allow cool air in. There were no security locks whatsoever to prevent intruders from opening the window wider to enter our bedroom. Granted we were in the lower level where our one window looked into an opened boxBathroom was modernly designed with a roomy shower, plenty of lights, and a separate tiny toilet area with a separate door.When we arrived my husband had to fix the shower. It was leaking. It was someone not tightly closed.I got up early one morning to enjoy the serene quietness...opened the shutters to watch in the distance streams of vehicles on the major freeway. What I discovered is the shutters are all dusty! With my allergies, it could be a problem. Ended up wiping a lot of the slates, not all to minimize my allergic reactions.What my husband wanted, yet standard in all timeshares, is a water pitcher. No ice trays either. Odd?We asked for both. Both delivered. Actually delivered were a huge bag of ice and a pitcher. Not sure reason for no ice trays, but reason for no pitcher is: people rarely use it. (Except us.)

Just dont go. We had numerous issues here and were left very disappointed with our week long vacation here. Our trip was Mon-Fri. The two snack shack/bar locations at the pool areas were closed the entire week. Staff was unable to tell us why and seemed confused as well. The spa at the pool area we were nearest to was out of order the entire week. There was a splash pad at a pool in a different area that was also out of order for the week. The main restaurant on the property (Canyon Grille) was closed Mon-Wed. The supposed Starbucks on site was out of several ingredients, doesnt accept payment from the app, and was poor quality. The only food option on the property is a Pizza Hut express. The quality was what youd expect from a Pizza Hut, just dont get your hopes up for plates or napkins.

This is one of the most beautiful places that my husband and I have ever stayed in. We had a villa in the mountain portion of the resort. Not only was our room absolutely gorgeous and luxurious, with two fireplaces and a fabulous patio, but the pool, waterslide and jacuzzi were fantastic as well. Im very disappointed! Since my last visit, it has been bought by Hyatt. The customer service it looks like is at the mercy of depends who you talk to. They sent us to the rooms with unloaded keys. The 2 bedroom villa had just one hair dryer in one of the bathrooms out of two. There are no placemats to protect the table(I had to improvise with paper towels). I wanna bake a frozen pizza. There was no tray that will accommodate that. There is a pizza Hut place on the resort. We arrived late at night. We went there at 8:30pm to order something to eat, but they said they wont take orders anymore, even though they supposed to close at 9:00pm so I had to improvise in order to eat something!The air conditioning/heater is very loud and will wake me up every time when it started.The cleaning crew came to the door at 8 am because somehow, in their schedule, it showed that we are checking out one day earlier than the correct day. We told them that we were not, but another lady came around 12 :00 pm for the same reason. In her schedule it should the unit should be available for cleaning for the new clients. There was no disturb sign to put it on the door. Good thing we were in the kitchen living room area. Otherwise, those cleaning ladies knew the villa was available and just stormed in!At the recreation centers( 2 of them), there were 3 ping pong tables and JUST 1 PING PONG BALL! We asked, and they didnt have any other ball! I wanted to play chess, but there was a missing piece at the main recreation center. I understand kids might misplace or break some of the equipment, but daily has to be replaced and refilled! It is not my problem. I pay to have everything at my disposal.The salesperson at the update was extremely persuasive and pushy!But, of course, there were some good things like the cleaness of the rooms and the view.

I recently stayed at the Welks Resort on the Villas on the Greens in the Augusta building. We stayed in a 2 bedroom lock-off. We enjoyed the resort. The rooms are nice and roomy. I posted pictures of the room we had. My kids and I liked it, but my husband prefers to stay closer to San Diego. It is a nice place and location. Hopefully, he will let us go back in the future.Update: We came back, and this time, we are on Broadway Hill in the Showboat building. We stayed in a 2 bedroom this time, not a lock-off. I loved that both bathrooms had double sinks. The rooms are very nice and roomy. My kids and I like this room a little more than the Villas on the Green because it is easier being in this type of configuration. There is nothing wrong with the lock-off unit, I like it as well. Both areas have pros and cons. Here are new pictures added to show the 2 bedroom unit at Broadway Hill. I also added pictures of the gym and tennis courts.

This is the second time we stayed here. The first time it was quite nice and i would have given it 4 or 5 stars. That is the reason for the 3 stars is im including the first stay with part of my rating. This stay was quite terrible. The check in on sunday took 2 hours and since Hyatt owns the property i thought i woupd be able to check in on the world of hyatt app but im sorry to say we couldnt. When i complained about the check in process i was told that they had lots of people checking in and out. But if you know that you shpuld be staffed for that in my opinion. I had booked a room where my mother in law wouldnt need to go up or down stairs but im sorry to say they gave a an upstairs room. Fortunately the nice woman behind us swapped rooms with us at the check in counter so we were able to get a room for my disabled mother in law. The blinds in the room would not lower or raise(they were mechanical) and no one ever came by to fix them even after we complained about that. The iron in the room spewed brown stuff out of it but fortunately i was ironing on top of one of their towels other wise it would have ruined my shirt once again we asked for a replacement and never got a different iron. I am a worl of hyatt member and did make a complaint with them as well but i havent heard anything back. I really expected that the stay would have been similar to our first experience but it has declined drastically. Hopefully since the Hyatt has recently purchased them the conditions will improve. But i am still a little bothered that Hyatt hasnt gotten back to me about my complaint and terrible experience. I do expect more.

Wonderful resort with several pools and two water slides! The main slide & pool is boulder springs clubhouse and pool so I highly recommend trying to get a room close to it!The rooms are of good size and has a kitchen so bring your own food, snacks, drinks for the whole family!They do have a super market on site but it definitely is more expensive and doesn’t have everything. But does have some alcohol and they serve Starbucks brewed coffee here but doesn’t have the breakfast pastries or anything of your typical Starbucks.There is only one restaurant on site that is a little on the fancy and more expensive side but doesn’t have too many options. Good thing within a 10 minute drive there are PLENTY of restaurants!Lots of activities you can sign up for like arts and crafts which was a nice addition to our stay. They have several club houses that also have billiards, foosball, and games!Yes this resort is a timeshare resort and they will ask you to complete a two hour presentation to see if you are interested to buy the timeshare but you can always decline at the end of the presentation with no obligation to commit. We have been coming to the Welk resort for 20 years. This place is not what it used to be. We visited May 2023 the splash pad was not working, all 5 of the pools were cold to the point they were unusable (although they say they are heated to 83 degrees) over priced restaurants overpriced markets. It seems like everything else has just gone to a money grab. Very sad to see since this was a childhood destination of mine now that I have a daughter of my own it’s not worth the travel and money spent.

Resort is beautiful with the golf course and the mountains behind. But when entering our room, the walkway was stained as if spills had taken place and not cleaned plus the stuccoed walls had numerous small cobwebs both of these needed a good power wash. Later when taking a walk I found this was the same at most of the units, The inside however was very clean. After dinner, and clearing our dinnerware found that the sink was plugged. It took maintenance a couple of hours to clear that. The bathroom fan was stalled when turning on and gave us concern that it might overheat. Since the resort is close to I-15, be prepared for continuous freeway noise, night and day… most noticeable on the back patio and master bedroom. The furniture and appliances are dated. The pools and rec centers are first class and the mature vegetation is awesome. Left early and won’t revisit.

Great location other than being close to the freeway and with only single glazing the traffic noise very noticeable especially at night. If you are a light sleeper this is probably not for you. Appartment and facilities in general are very good and the fountain golf course is short but excellent. The oaks par 3 course isnt worth playing if you are a golfer. Lots of great winerys near by though so if you can put up with the traffic noise its a great base for a wine tasting holiday.

Great location but rooms are dated, you have to call to get rooms serviced and even then the cleanliness standard is meh! Wear slippers otherwise carpet turns your feet black. Great wildlife with bobcat, great horned owl, skunk and western diamondback happily cruising around. Were had a good time but we always do! Understand property is getting sold to another resort so maybe explains lack of staff enthusiasm.

My family has been going the third week in August for over twenty years. Golf course looks nice but I have no details. The pools are average but dirty with sun screen, foliage, and insects. The exercise room is very well equipped and clean. Roadways and parking spaces are in need of repaving. The rooms are nice and recently remodeled. The best part of this facility is all the employees are extremely helpful and smiley.

Still dont understand how a big resort has one restaurant The Canyon Grill, thats closed two days a week and has a Dennys type menu. We sat for one hour watching people get their orders realizing they came in after us. Turns out the kitchen lost our ticket? And I guess our waitress didnt notice. Foods never been that good there either. Would love for Gorden Ramsay to fix it up!

All shows were on weekdays and cost extra.Escondido is located in the middle of nowhere. The (the only one) restaurant on site is awful. Every review confirms this and theres are no restaurants near by. The only one in 10 minutes we had another horrible experience and didnt even eat there. Every other restaurant was 15-20 minutes away, including fast food.Yes, you read that currently, even fast food was 15-20 minutes away and only 1 horribly reentered restarting in site with limited hours.This resort has nice villas but only pools and golf and the time share offer is HORRIBLE. Weve sat through two presentations from thus company venue and said no because it was only just out of our reach. There were recently purchased by Hyatt however and the price is at least double with far fewer options. Just, please, for your sanity, have absolutely nothing to do with this place

The drive through the mountains was already great! When I first got there, the wait was a little long to check in, but Im guessing thats usual. The room had a fold out couch and was overall a pretty normal hotel room. There were so many pools to go to, but my favorite was the one to the north of the resort. The part that was particularly most enjoyable was walking around the resort on a nice day, and riding the golf carts that take you from place to place. My time here was great, and quite comfortable! Totally recommend to anyone visiting San Diego, or the area. The staff and people are quite nice too. I made a lot of nice memories here with my family

Beautiful resort! The views are breathtaking. Our 1 bedroom suite overlooked the golf course and was clean, comfortable, and had everything we could need and more.. The staff worked very hard to ensure our stay was comfortable and every need attended to. We only got to stay for 2 days however when we return to the San Diego area to visit my daughter and son-in-law again, we wouldnt think of staying anywhere else. Thank you for making my first trip to California one of the most memorable trips in my life!

I did not have a good experience here and here is why.Check in was nice but once we were sent to the concierge desk for our parking pass they would try and persuade you to come to a 2 hour meeting for 2 Disneyland tickets. I let the guy know we did not have time nor were we interested. He asked me about 4-5 questions leading up to my final answer. Once I told him no he immediately stopped being polite and became rude. So that was not a very welcoming intro to the resort.We arrived to the pool and tried to place an order at the grill, but the worker said the system was down and we had to wait. After about 15 minutes of us getting settled by the pool the worker closes up and leaves and never came to address our order. I felt like that was also rude and inconsiderate since we had items we wanted for our children.Theres not enough parking where we stood and when we tried to just unload on the red we were threatened with a citation.And lastly our room was not what we paid for.Shutters were broken, we found 2 weird black bugs inside, the front door didnt open and close easily, the balcony area smelled like rotten eggs, the sheets were horrible. They were hard and the spare blanket was very itchy. The pull out couch was so uncomfortable you could feel the bars if you dared to move slightly. I also asked if we could switch rooms so we could have a tub to bathe our children and the front desk clerk stated our rooms didnt come with tubs. However, my sister in law reserved the same type of room and had a tub in hers.So overall Im sure we could have had a better time since the resort has nice amenities. I probably could have been more comfortable in a different room but I was very unhappy with our stay.I stayed in Ironwood room in the 3300s.

Place was great (grounds, layout, location, room, golf course). Service is just awful. Specifically management or ANYONE you deal with over the phone outside of housekeeping/maintenance. They were actually really good and helpful. It’s the people in charge who run the day-to-day. The “manager” SAMANTHA RHODES is awful, rude and insensitive and needs to take a course on managing and dealing with people or get out of the hospitality business all together. I won’t go into detail but we took our request and called the Hyatt directly to complain about her. As Hyatt members we have been very satisfied with the program. Not sure if SAMANTHA RHODES is a leftover from when Hyatt purchased the Welk Resort but she needs to be reviewed. So, if you need anything other than housekeeping DON’T CALL TO ASK IF SAMANTHA IS THE MANGER THAT DAY OR WEEK. Also book directly with the Hyatt and not ANY OTHER COMPANY. Remember, service happens from the top down and if the attitude and service set by SAMANTHA RHODES is any indication of how her team treats guest, and I think it is because when we checked in the desk person was also rude. Wasn’t gonna write about but….I would think twice about staying here. YOU ARE IN THE SERVICE/HOSPITALITY BUSINESS! ACT LIKE IT!

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Welks Resort in SD( im a welks owner), and while there were some positives, I found my overall experience to be a bit mixed. The gym facilities were well-maintained and accessible, providing guests with the opportunity to stay active during their stay. The availability of free pools and fishing activities was a definite highlight, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy their time at the resort.However, one aspect that fell short of my expectations was the limited selection of nearby food options. While the resort itself offers some dining choices, I found the overall quality of the food to be lacking. For instance, I was disappointed to discover that ordering from Pizza Hut was only possible through their app or in person, with no option to call directly from the room. This limitation was inconvenient and hindered the ease of ordering food.Moreover, the archery and axe throwing activities, although advertised as free, were not quite as thrilling as I had anticipated. The resort provides a belcro-style setup instead of using real arrows and axes, which diminished the authenticity and excitement of these activities. It would have been preferable to have access to the genuine equipment to fully enjoy the experience.Another notable issue I encountered was the consistent malfunctioning of the ice machines. It was frustrating to find them frequently out of order, leaving guests with limited access to ice. Furthermore, even when operational, the ice machines were inconveniently placed, making it inconvenient to retrieve ice when needed.Despite these shortcomings, I must mention that the overall atmosphere and community feel of the resort were pleasant. Worse check in experience. The girl at tye front desk didnt even look up when I walked into the empty building. The concierge had to acknowledge me and get her attention. She was extremely rude and condescending when I had questions with my booking. They should train or hire adults to manage customer relations. She looked and acted like an entitled teenager. This resort is truly hidden. It’s outdated. Rooms are dingy. Pools are decent. A couple of them have a small slide. The entertainment is for an older audience. Like grandparents. I personally had a horrible stay. It took 3 hours and 3 sets of keys to get working keys for our room. The first night was wasted. The freezer and patio light did not work. It took multiple calls to get someone to the room, only to take 2 hrs and still not work. We ended up leaving after the first night. It’s highly overpriced for the quality. Online they advertise as San Diego😂 It is not, it’s Escondido.You want a nice hotel, go to San Diego. Plenty of great hotels, nearby restaurants, nightlife, beach, etc At this resort, you will find yourself with nothing to do except pool. Or drive 20 minutes to find something. Not a safe area once you leave the grounds.

I booked two rooms one for my husband and I and another for my daughter and her family. When I booked months ago at villas on the green area. I asked for rooms next to each other and 1st floor because we had little ones. They asured me it would be no problem. Not the case they put us on the 3rd floor.We used the tub one night for my granddaughter, the next morning I went to get my tennis shoes from the closet and they were soaked, the carpet in the closet closest to the bathroom wall was soaked into the bedroom area. I quickly called the front desk and told them. The person who answered had no concern, didnt ask if anything was damaged just said she would transfer me to housekeeping. They said they would send someone over right way. They did. No one bothered to call and follow up on the issue. Not concerned if my my clothes or shoes were damaged or if it smelled damped in the room. The kitchen had 4 coffee mugs, 4 plates & bowls but only 3 juice and 3 tall drinking glasses. Dont focus on presentation, focus on service.

Stayed here for a wedding party. Great resort with a nice golf course. They provide golf cart shuttles around to different buildings, you only have to call the front desk. The hotel was however unable to provide any type of group discount for the wedding party unlike other local hotels. Each building seems to have a different layout and theme. Overall, great place to stay.

We loved our room this trip. We have been there many times and some rooms are not quite as nice. This one was great! Its a beautiful Resort and we have been many times.Warning, the Wi-Fi is not private. Dont do any sensitive business on it. Also, Hyatt properties just bought it so it is no longer a family-owned place. They have already cut back on some of the fun things to do. It is a timeshare property and now they are charging $50 for a midweek tidy tidy, which used to be a free service. Also the different club houses used to all have computers and printers. Now only one does. And its a single computer.

Posting my whole review would be too long so here are the main points: Checkin took an hour for no good reason. No elevator- just small confined stairs to room. Room was in the rainier building-1 bedroom villa. Dirty socks inside room. Empty beer bottles outside room. Dead cockroaches inside and outside near balcony. king bed completely worn out and so uncomfortable it gave us headaches. had to sleep on couch. Oven broken flashing error codes- seal on door was broken so turning the oven on made the whole room smell like it was on fire. Next day power went out- in room phones went down no cable on the TVs that looked like they were from 2005. Wi-fi down and there was no cell service up there. There was no hot water either. Power came on later that night but wi-fi, phones and cable stayed down. Next day we had hot water, wi-fi and cable but the phones were still down. Tried to call front desk from our cell phones over wi-fi but their phones were “not accepting calls” we went to the beach that day and came back at 6pm to our room being cleaned. housekeeping said to sit on the balcony and finally at 6:30 when they said they were done we came back to no towels and those dirty socks from when first checked in…placed with our clean clothes. we had moved them from one part of the floor to next to the trash can and they put them with our clean clothes in our suitcase. Ate at the canyon grill that night, food was basically microwave food from there but still was decent. Checked out the next morning never coming back. This place would be fine for golfing as the golf course is very nice but anything else it was not a good experience.

I exchanged my timeshare points to stay here. We had a lovely time. The resort is beautiful and very well kept. The units are obviously older, however, they are well kept and nicely updated. We LOVED how many pools were around! And they were so warm. We would go to the pool after dark when it was in the upper 50s and 60s and the water was so nice! We had a nice pool across the parking lot from our unit. There were two other pools with splash pads and water slides. One that we walked to and the other we drove.This review is a 4 star because currently, the food/bar staff is short. Also, the picture in the ads of the big pool is in the mountain villas. You need to drive to this pool. We tried it one time. It was SO crowded and ROWDY. There were no life guards and the slide was closed. There was no food service either. People were rude, pushing, fighting, and I found out the next day that some kids broke the hot tub. We left that pool shortly after arriving to go back to the smaller pool in our part of the complex and it was much calmer.

Safety, customer service, and cleanliness are NOT a priority for this establishment. Throughout most of our 6 night stay my family suffered from sinus and throat pain. We could not figure out why until we took a look at the AC filter in our room which had not been changed since February and was filthy. Turns out our neighbors filter was just as bad. We immediately called the front desk and explained that we have a 3-month old and 4-year old who have not been feeling well and that we needed them to change the filter as soon as possible. We were assured someone would be up and that the manager would call. It took 2 hours and another call for someone to finally come. When the worker did arrive they looked at the filter and admitted that it was terrible. Its been 48 hours and a manager has yet to call which is simply unacceptable considering that we expressed concern about our health.Aside from the ventilation issue, house keeping did the bare minimum in our room. It took two calls just for someone to come do one of our beds and bring towels. If you need anything here expect long waits on the phone and multiple attempts just to reach someone. And even then, dont expect follow up. THEY CARE MORE ABOUT THEIR TIME SHARES THAN PAYING CUSTOMERS.Further, expect the splash park to be broken, the slides to open late, trash piled up outside (which the raccoons love at night), cable and wifi outages, and an overall lack of service. Knowing what I know now about this place I would not recommend a stay. The views are not worth it.

Great resort, so many pools we didn’t make it to all of them in our three days. Room was well laid out but I would have spent the dollars on a two bed for a longer stay. We did get a lot packed in though, a day trip to Legoland, the farmers market on a Monday night (lovely food available) and the little market had all we needed. Special shout out to Jennifer at the snack shack who may have been the highlight of our stay, she was so kind to our kids and a hoot to chat with.

Great place to stay at for a family vacation around San Diego. Its a home away from home. It was our first time, we stayed for 5 days 4 nights, and everything went smoothly until our last night (besides the fact that we never heard from the customer service about our request for a keureg machine instead) . The family next to our unit was having a party on the balcony at 1 AM, we called the front desk and they did send out security to check on them. Given they left the balcony but they continued their party inside their unit, we can still hear the loudness of their voices and music. It was a terrible last night for us at the resort considering we had a long drive back home the next day. We asked to get checked out at 11 instead due to a long night we just had but they didnt consider. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the kids loved the pool!
