I love Hugos! I’ve come here with friends several times while in town and it is always good.Staff are always lovely and helpful.The food!! So many vegan/gluten free options are standard, you dont have to make many substitutions.Drinks—I’ve had the turmeric ‘latte’ and a couple juices and they are always uplifting and tasty.Im grateful for a spot that has such a considerate menu, great staff, and hosts gay events too 💚💚💚

I come here every time I’m in town...this is my favorite spot!! I really appreciate their carefulness and attentiveness to preparing food for those like myself with gluten allergies. Their menu has so many gluten free options!! The service is always great and the food is amazing!

We ordered CLUB SANDWICH (vegan) and Cinnamon swirl French toast. The sandwich was okay. I felt the flavors were less in the tofu. However, the French toast was yummy. I would go here again for the French toast.Given the price, I didnt find the food taste worth it, however, the portion size is huge.The service and the ambiance were good.

Absolutely loved Hugos! We went twice for breakfast and almost grabbed dinner too. Everything was incredible, especially for those with dietary restrictions. My wife has gluten intolerance, and they could make everything gluten-free! It wasnt just your basic eggs and bacon either - they had creative, chef-quality dishes. She loved the gluten-free cinnamon swirl French toast so much we asked if the bread was made in-house (it was!), and they even let us buy a loaf to take home!Loved the classic architecture arches and stained glass also.

Stopped in for our first time this past weekend and we all had a great breakfast. Hugo’s is located in the far west side of West Hollywood and is well known as a great breakfast spot that serves all the classics and can make any substitutions that you may want. It’s very lively and energetic inside, mainly due the locals/crowd, but in a good way. Service is fast, the food comes out quickly, and they have a huge, free parking lot directly behind the restaurant, which is rare and great to find in LA.They have a ton of seating options inside and out but due to the rain we chose to eat inside for our first visit. We ordered the Cali Eggs Benedict and the Classic Breakfast and both really enjoyed our meal. I chose the Cali Benedict but subbed Turkey sausage instead of their vegetarian bacon and it was a great call.Overall pricing is very fair and the wait time was nonexistent; we were able to be seated as soon as we arrived for a 10:30 breakfast/brunch. I would definitely recommend and plan to be back next time I’m searching for breakfast in WeHo.

The place was clean. The staff were welcoming. The server did a good job but missed a few things. Would liked to have had follow up visits after each course, including the cocktails. Would liked to have had small dishes for shared appetizers. I left half of my Lavender Collins because I just didn’t care for it. The dining room was clean, as was the restroom. The mat inside the entryway had several wrinkles in it, which could be a trip hazard. The food, however, was spectacular. The pasta was fresh and house-made. The rolls were light. The squash soup was thick. It was good but lacked flavor. The chicken fingers were hand-cut. The pasta carbonara was amazing. It was cooked Al dente. I can’t say enough good about it. We were thanked as we left.

Green eggs and (no) bacon was amazing! Crisp potato pancakes, tasty sautéed spinach and mushrooms, JustEgg moist, and vegan hollandaise that was the perfect complement. My son had the tofu scramble and it was good - he said it was comparable to others he’s had. The Cinnamon French toast had good flavor and the real maple syrup was perfect (we only got the side order to try). The atmosphere was pleasant, well maintained, and clean. The server was so nice and attentive!

This place is so overpriced. Don’t understand how a mediocre scrambled egg charges 20$ plus 3% back-end kitchen surcharge plus 22% default tips? I guess this is one of those places where people complain about ridiculous surcharges with mediocre food. Food is not that healthy. It’s more on the greasy side. Very wrong choice to come eat here 😂

Loved this place. Attentive and welcoming staff and the menu options were great. We shared a Cuban Club with fried plantanes and it was delicious. The Margaritas were so good I had to have another one. 😋 Would highly recommend this place.

One of my go-to restaurants in Weho for brunch or dinner, with abundant indoor and outdoor seating. Aside from a good happy hour for both food and drink, I am always impressed not just by how many options Hugos offers, but how many different dietary needs they are able to accommodate deliciously. Hugos is basically an elevated diner, so dont expect anything too fancy, particularly as it comes to presentation or interior design, but they make up for it in charm (always love my servers!!) and genuinely good, hearty food. Neighborhood institution that I hope remains forever!

Overall not a bad place to go. The place is very clean and has a lot of options on the menu. Plus you can even customize your own plates. The food was pretty good although I would have liked more vegetables in the spring rolls and less sea kelp. The turkey meatballs had huge chunks of garlic in them which was a little over powering, but some people may like that. Drinks are fantastic and they have a happy hour as well. Service was super slow took over an hour for our food to come out after waiting for over 30 minutes to place an order. It wasnt even that busy.

Looks like Hugo’s can veganize most things, but my girlfriend and I split two already vegan options - the green, eggs, and no ham & chocolate chip pancakes. The pancakes were good, but nothing to write home about. It was nice to have the option of getting pancakes for brunch as a vegan. What I would write home about though was the green, eggs, and no ham. Just egg, greens, & mushrooms over potato pancakes along with a hollandaise sauce on top. Oh BOY! was that good.

Stumbled into this place by chance and we’re so happy we did. Casual, non pretentious joint with excellent service. Menu is super accommodating to all dietary restrictions and requests. I got the green casserole, bc it sounded so different from anything I’ve seen on a menu before—it did not disappoint. Drinks were on point. Everyone in our party also enjoyed their meal.

Jilted and Hugo’s to the rescue. This place is so great. I’ve been coming here for years. The menu is wonderful. Very plant-based friendly with amazing tofu options and honestly my lunch date just walked out on me. After telling me. I was rude to the wait staff and the wait stuff was so nice and caring and concerned i wasn’t crying but I was a little bit shaken up!!! Felt very cared for !!

Hugo’s offers fantastic vegan options! My favorites on the Happy Hour menu are Asian Spring Rolls and Vegan Mac n Cheese.HAPPY HOUR is daily 4-7pm. Drinks are $6 at Happy Hour- highly recommend the Blueberry Bombshell if you like Makers Mark whiskey.♻️ They use paper straws (except for plastic stirrers in lowball glasses - make sure to ask for a paper straw for all cocktails.)🅿️ Free parking lot behind the restaurant!

Wow! Where do I begin? This place was awesome! So many options for all types of eaters. My party had meat eaters, vegan, and gluten free and we all had tons of dishes to choose from. The staff we so friendly and helpful. The ambiance was super chill, a great spot for a date or just hanging with the homies.I had the hush puppies, chunky vegan salad, vegan Mac and cheese (needed a little more salt), and the mixed berry cobbler (what can I say, I like to eat!). Everything was really good including my friends plates which included a build-your-own pasta, and various kinds of burgers.

Drag Bingo featuring Bottomless Mimosas every Friday at 6 pm (its drag time though so more like 7 pm). Highy recommend reserving since spacing is very limited! A very intimate setting thats pretty fun with Miss Tiffany Vogue serving you her best. The bingo cards are $5 per each card and make sure you bring some dollar bills to tip as well!The food is diner food so pretty comforting. They gave drink specials until 7 pm too if you only want a few drinks and not do the Bottomless Mimosas.Overall, a fun time with good and cheap drinks that will turn up your Friday pretty quick!

Hugo’s was a favourite of mine on a recent trip to LA. It’s the type of place you want to visit over and again, with lots of space, great atmosphere, first class service and a fantastic menu that has a mid to upper scale feel. Suitable for dates, solo dining, group dining, breakfast, lunch, dinner- the only place I’ve seen that does pretty much everything to an excellent quality. Sensational!

Ordered the vegan wrap and was provided the meat one. Confirmed dietary restriction as vegan when ordering. Took a bit before I realised their mistake and had to struggle to get their attention to ask if there was a mistake. Staff only apologised at the end of the meal but still charged us full price for it. Avoid if you’re vegan or vegetarian or have dietary restrictions. I understand mistakes happen but the laissez faire attitude was really disappointing.

Ive been coming here for decades. The food never disappoints. Its filled with flavor, there are tons of options for every one of your picky friends to get something they really want. I have to eat gluten free so being able to pick so much food can feel pleasantly overwhelming! The gf chocolate chip pancakes are a dream! The tacos will punch you in the face with flavor. The spring rolls are fresh & crunchy with great dipping sauce. The atmosphere is calm & pleasant (unless its the dinner rush). I love this place!

I had a grand dining experience. I called on my walk to the restaurant to place my order since I was running short on time. Dakota answered and kindly took my order. When I arrived, Dakota showed me to my table and Dustin took over. Dustin is an excellent server remembering and using my name. I ordered the Desayuna Fuerte which was delicious. I also appreciated that grapefruit juice is an option. The meal is filling so either share it with someone or get a box to turn it into a second meal. I definitely recommend eating here!

I live in the valley and was having a late morning meal in WEHO with a friend. I usually eat at Hugos in the valley. Its breakfast so the two of us are not expecting a 5 star meal. Our food arrived cold, we nicely asked to fix. They tried. Three minutes later, it arrived and we realized they warmed the food and the poached eggs were no longer poached and pancakes had no bananas and were dry. The two of us had a $80 bill (before tip) for 2 entrees, a short stack and 2 coffees and its breakfast. Thats not how any of this should work. Our server was cool, though.

If you or a loved one has severe food allergies, this review is for you!I have been safely eating at Hugo’s (at both the West Hollywood and their old Agoura locations) for many, many years. I am anaphylactic to dairy and they have been great with my allergy up until this point. I dined recently at the WeHo location and got the vegan reuben sandwich with a side salad. I talked with our server at length about my allergy and he seemed to really understand the severity of it, so I felt comfortable. However, clearly there is a lack of food allergy training with the kitchen staff because my sandwich was somehow contaminated with dairy and I had an allergic reaction as soon as I left the restaurant.If you don’t have allergies, I highly recommend this place for their tasty food and amazing customer service, but if you do, I can no longer recommend this place in good conscience. I understand eating out is always a risk with severe food allergies, but it was a real disappointment that a place I’ve called safe for so long is no longer.

The menu is absolutely fantastic. So many heathy delicious options, I literally came back 3 days in a row because I felt such intense FOMO at wanting to eat everything. Can’t wait to come back to LA and eat here several more times.Only thing which needs upgrading is the service, not sure if the staff is overwhelmed or just poorly trained, frequently they would forget about our table and I’d have to stand up and go to them about taking our order, knapkins, getting the check, retrieving our card, etc. but when the food was ready, it was delivered immediately so that’s great.Highly recommend.

We got eggs Benedict and never have I had hard eggs Benedict but this morning 3 out of 4 eggs on the table were so overdone, like a hard poached egg. Terrible experience. We were asked to leave the restaurant before we finished because the Manager wanted to leave. It was 9:20pm and we had been at our table for about 45 minutes. From the moment we arrived the manager was very clear he was in a rush to get home. We even saw him turn away new customers. We are respectful of workers wanting to leave at a decent time, but it’s not ok to send customers home before they finish their dining experience. I let the Manager know how bad our experience was and he kept repeating that his concern was his waiters. He never tried to make the situation better. As a customer for over 20 years I hope to speak with upper management or the owner. I have a feeling they would prefer happy customers.

Used to absolutely love this place. During the pandemic, when they were able to open, they had the best Happy Hour ever (no longer). I understand the price of everything has gone up in the last 2 years, but the pricing at Hugos is now ridiculous. I loved their Mexican salad. It used to cost $15-$16. Its now priced at $22, and the portion is smaller. Their VERY basic burger (nothing special at all) is now $23. WOW. Sad, but Ive been out priced here. It was very nice while it lasted.

Comfortable environment and good food. I had the Pasta Mama and while it was tasty, I think I was looking for something a bit lighter. It was pretty rich. As I was visiting LA with my mom she recommended we visit Hugos as she has been a regular patron if there’s any time she’s in the area. All of the staff were very attentive, kind, and all around professional. But of course you don’t go to a restaurant for the company alone, Hugo’s excelled in their culinary capability, atmosphere and satisfying drinks. We dined on multiple dishes including an eggs Benedict, vegetarian omelette with plant-based bacon, and a chipotle scramble. Each dish was diverse in flavor and generous with portions. Nice spot for breakfast right on Santa Monica. We were fortunate to get there fairly early (just before 9) on a Sunday morning and so it wasnt super busy. It was getting there by the time we left. This is a low-key restaurant without an ounce of pretense that focuses intensely on providing healthful, delicious meals to its patrons, and carries that off extremely well.Hugos does not advertise itself as a health food restaurant, but the kitchen at Hugos is supremely conscious of, and attentive to, the healthfulness of its preparations. Recently, for example, I commented to a waiter on the excellent taste of the table water they serve, and was told that they have a whole-building reverse-osmosis/carbon water filter installed on the roof of the building, and that they use that water in everything they create. Food at Hugos is organic as available, and, when I inquire, I usually find that it is organic in fact.Hugos is the only restaurant at which I have ever seen Barramundi offered. This fish, featured about a year ago on one of the Dr. Oz shows as one of the worlds most healthful foods, suddenly turned up at Hugos as a special shortly after that program aired, and has continued to be offered from time to time on the specials menu. This is one of the many signs Ive noticed over the years that Hugos has its head up to whats happening in that place where health and cuisine coincide.The food is largely continental, but with spectacular creative touches. The beet salad, for example, is defined by a thicket of crisp cut vegetables, nuts, and dried organic cherries, with Roquefort cheese on the top (I usually substitute goat cheese). They have a very large menu of specials that change every week or so, including miraculous dishes like Indian lentil patties.While the restaurant is not vegetarian, it has a greater variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes than most restaurants that claim to be about that. Chicken or turkey can be added to most of the vegetarian dishes for those who, like me, feel that they need animal protein. The turkey meat loaf is especially tasty.Prices are quite moderate considering the quality of the food and of the service, and they accept the KCRW card for a 10 percent savings.

Today was my first day back to Hugos since before the pandemic. Naturally, I anticipated the entire process to be clumsy and awkward but was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Upon entering the front door, we were warmly greeted by the new manager, David, who then showed us to our table. He was kind, authentic, and welcoming in demeanor which helped put my nerves at ease. He gave us a contactless menu and explained how the process worked in a way that was fun and easy to understand. Our table was appropriately distanced from other tables and separated by plexiglass so we were not exposed to passing by pedestrians. Love Hugos! Both the WeHo and Valley locations are awesome. Wonderful staff, fantastic food. Its especially great if youre meeting with a group of people who may have different dietary needs and restrictions, as they boast a robust offering of vegan, veg, and gluten-free dishes, as well as normal fare that includes meat options (like burgers and meaty pasta sauce, with veg subs available for most meat) and normal breads and all kinds of dishes, from breakfast to dinner, at all times of the day.Extra delicious menu items: Green tamales, green casserole, power pancakes (SO GOOD!), matcha latte, dandelion root coffee. Their dragon fruit iced tea is super tasty, and they otherwise have a giant menu of exotic hot tea and drink options. Ive had almost everything on their menu over the years, and Im pretty sure Ive never gotten anything I dont like.

The menu is very vegan friendly (which I am). We enjoyed our meals, but the service was not good. Thats why Im only giving two stars. Mediocre or poor service can influence my desire to go back to a restaurant. We had to ask for the same things multiple times. The server said he was sorry, and followed it up with Ive had a long day. But the poor service continued. Other servers looked like they were being very attentive to their tables. We were sitting by a window on the Santa Monica side of the restaurant and there was a computer that the servers used for orders across from us. Our server was standing there much of the time chatting with a woman who appeared to work there, as if he was on a break (which he wasnt). We only tipped 15% (whereas we normally tip 20%+). The other criticism is: If you are going to indicate on the menu that an item can be made vegan, then try to stick to it. We wanted the vegan version of the Chocolate Pecan Brownie Sundae, but our server said that you did not have vegan chocolate ice cream, only fruit sorbets. Since its called a chocolate vegan brownie sundae, why not have vegan chocolate ice cream on hand? For $9.75, I would think it would be a no-brainer.

Hugos is an unassuming place with surprisingly interesting and tasty food. I needed a light lunch and found Hugos using Google. I sat outside and was presented with a menu featuring traditional breakfast and lunch items but also a menu of Hugos bowl creations which are styled in a variety of ethnic cuisine traditions. I chose the Syrian Bowl which is a mixture of grains, rice veges and spices topped with a few tasty croutons. So an interesting variety of choices and the bowl was delicious, the service was attentive and the coffee and mimosa were solid. I will happily return when Im roaming West Hollywood in the future.

Hugos does it again! Perfection. A menu that all can eat from as well as the ability to create almost any plate you want cooked any way you want! I have been to the Hugos in the valley many times, and I love to tell people, welcome to your new favorite restaurant. And Hugos here on Santa Monica Blvd. was a success. We had friends in from Nashville, and they now have a new favorite restaurant. Every dish was perfect, and the menu is so varied I will just recommend you go, give it a go, and enjoy!Hugos in the Valley is equally good!

This is our date spot. We love coming here for any meal of the day. It has a large menu that caters to almost every dietary restriction. Its the kind of place where once you find something you like, you get it every time. The food is extremely consistent, and the staff is wonderful.

The first time I ate here I thought YAY vegetarian food! NOPE! the first time got the pot pie, it was frozen in the center, seriously. The next year we tried it again ( we live closeby). I will eat ANYTHING veggie, and I spit out my tempeh bacon ( thats what I think it was). It was inedible. The third time was delivery, and the food didnt even look like food! again, I had to spit it out it was inedible. i can not afford to waste food or loose more weight, so when i say I have to eat all my meals, its a matter of life anmd death. Ugh id rather die than eat their mush again.

Amazing service from the lovely Olivia for the second day in the row before we leave LA and hit the road! Let’s get into the food though, OMG SO MANY VEGAN OPTIONS! Perfect place to go with your family or friends who aren’t vegan because they have a pleathers of both!! Everything I had was vegan! The nachos, I had both days which should tell you they were pretty tasty 😋 the chocolate chip pancakes were BOMB, the Cauliflower pakora was quite tasty (a tad greasy), the potstickers were amazing 😉 and I hate mushrooms (which were in them), lastly the pasta dish I had and added the vegan bacon to it....to die for!!!! Next time in LA, I will be visiting again for sure!

Hugos never disappoints! Stopped by for lunch with a friend today. We shared delish spring rolls and the sinfully good mac&cheese with steamed veggies. Spencer took terrific care of us and our iced teas were never empty. Ill be back soon. Bonus: convenient, inexpensive parking structure immediately across the street. 1 hr free and Hugos gives a ticket for an extra 20 minutes. Thanks Hugos!

LOVED the food here. I ordered the PASTA MAMA which was featured on the food network. I customized it by adding a turkey paddy (+$7) and melted goat cheese and mozzarella cheese. Expensive for what you get. They are not able to do a basic hollandaise sauce. Even pancakes are terrible and taste like flour. Please note that when they say fruits it means only 4 slices of banana. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
