Nina, the receptionist was warm, kind and made me feel welcomed. The office was clean, organized and inviting. Wanda was knowledgable, professional and had a sense of humor. She made me feel that my business was appreciated.
Lawrence Kaplan is a very pleasant man to work with. He explains all the things that he does very slow and clearly. He also answered all our questions. We always want to have him prepare our taxes.
RANT TIME !!!!STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTSDear H&R Block,Your taxes professsionals are far from professionalThey call me asking to set an appointment for some half off saleDue to some things this year I’m not ready to set an appointment or nor am I sure I will be going with your services. About 20-30 min later I proceed to get a text message stating my appointment time and everything. Might want to check out your people especially at Monrovia location on Huntington drive if there pulling some shady things like this for appointments to look better who knows what they are doing with peoples tax filings. I will definitely not be visiting H&R for my taxes this year and probably none in the future after this . Don’t make an appointment for someone who specifically says they don’t want to!
I felt it was too expensive but I didnt have any problems with the service. The previous year, I had gone to a new professional who charged me slightly less than what I was charged this year but last year there was also a sale of a house. The tax person quoted me $250 but it turned out to be $333 which I thought was too much.
My Senior Tax Consultant, Aracely and Monrovia Manager was purely Exceptional!! So professional and knowledgable and very kind. Aracely is an amazing H and R Employee. I highly recommend her. She is efficient and should be promoted at once.

2024-04-16 15:56:18I would give zero if I could this location they will lied to you and steal your refund on 02/23/24 met with Cynthia Wang she provide me false information about you needing a police report for a castrophic event such as hurricane or flood which is not asked to file an amendment she refuse to do so spoke with levier and Paul both of her managers they have no remorse for anything thats been done have reached out to corporate regarding this matter so can be addressed the call center representative are not even helpful they are rude and like to raise their voice at you I have been doing my taxes with HR BLOCK For the last 3 years now ever since I visited this location it has told me differently about the consumer service I definitely will not be returning as a client to them.

2023-03-15 20:39:49Called H&R Block customer service line to try and make an additional appointment for the same tax preparer. I was directed to Janet on 3/9/23 around 9:25 am and she never listens and always try to talk over me. I asked if she knows when my tax preparer is coming into the office and all she tells me was do i not know when my initial appointment is? I asked multiple times if she knows when my preparer is coming in and she keeps dancing around the answer and finally i got it out of her that she does not know. Why cant she just answer me this simple question in the first place and instead of asking me if i know my appointment time? How rude and unprofessional. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said none is available. This will definitely turn customers or potential customers away. Stop using unprofessional people for your customer service. It will kill your business.UPDATE: H&R Block really outdid itself. I wrote this negative review and they gave me an auto generated reply hoping no one will actually call. Well, the number they provided to call is their general number and when I talked to a live person on 3/15/23, they cant even send me to a supervisor to talk to. They dont really care if you have a complain and what the complain is. They just want to throw out a reply so the casual reader THINKS they care and will do something when in fact they have NO intention of making things right or improve upon their process. I guess I should not be too surprised. Just make sure you know that before thinking about using H&R Block. If you have a complain, they just throw you a general number to call and have absolutely no intention of improving their process or do any corrective action. NEGATIVE STARS if available.

2023-04-02 14:21:57My old tax guy retired, forcing me to go elsewhere. I remember my parents being at H&R block a whole evening to do taxes. Not any more! One hour, everything input into the computer and paid my fee by card before I left. My old tax guy did it all by hand and I had to pay him by check, which he might not cash for a month. I wish Id gone here years ago. 😀
