I came in around 2 pm Saturday Jan 26th to see about getting approved for a refund advance loan. The only reason I mentioned the time and date is I only remember one employees name, but everyone I saw spoke to while I was there were incredibly nice and helpful. They deserve to be mentioned too. Elena was the senior tax analyst that worked with me on my refund advancement. Very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, great at her job and just a pleasant person overall to deal with. As long as I live a reasonable distance from this location theyre who Im going to see with anything tax related from now on.

I have gone here for about 3 years. The tax service dept have always been great! I called today with a general tax question and the lady answering the phone was abrupt and mean as if I was wasting her time. Unbelievable! Office on Sonoma in Vallejo, CA.

I don’t appreciate the lady at the front desk looking at my personal information telling me what to do with my taxes next time an I don’t even know her I don’t appreciate that

If I could give negative or at least zero stars I would. I just called to ask a simple question, ONE question, and a woman answered, she was so rude, I wasnt even finished talking yet and she cut me off, just freaking hung up on me! Definitely not going to go to this office!

Do not use this office or the H and R Block by Target. I took my taxes to H and R Block the year my husband died to make sure they were done correctly. The taxes were not done correctly and as a result I was audited. After researching the tax code I found that I met the criteria to deduct the interest in question. I spent weeks putting together information needed to justify the interest deduction as it was related to a substantial home improvement project. My son hand delivered a hard copy of everything to be scanned and sent to IRS. The tax consultant only had to print off photos that supported the written materials and provide the interest calculation. I specifically asked her not to fax it in bits and pieces and that I wanted it faxed in together with a receipt showing that it was filed by the deadline. In the day it was due I contacted the tax consultant to make sure it got submitted. She stated she was working on it and it would be done that day. I followed up next day and was told she faxed part of it but was still needing to fax some today. Now it was late and she did exactly what I asked her not to do. I requested that they mail it to the IRS in its entirety return receipt and signature requested. I requested to review what was being sent. I was informed the manager already left. I then requested a hard copy of everything sent to the IRS. I have been waiting a month and have nothing. I called the complaint line 4 times and was told it was being escalated to corporate and someone would contact me. This was a lie. They do not resolve anything at corporate. Instead the complaint line refers it back to the local office you complain about and they do nothing. The regional manager is supposed to contact me. I am being audited because of the incompetence and carelessness I experienced. Instead of being supportive and providing customer service, I have felt all along that they do not care…. They are busy…. Instead of helping me they have made me feel like I have no expertise or help. It is very stressful going through an audit. It is even more so when you have to rely on people that are unprofessional, do not practice good business practices and are unaware of the tax code. These are people who know how to use software, not tax professionals. The complaint line is a joke and offers no solutions and I am not hopeful after 4 calls to complaint line that the regional manager will do anything. Do yourself a favor . Do not use H and R Block in Vallejo or Benicia. I don’t want anyone to go through what I have gone through. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business.

For our tax preparer, Crisostomo Villanueva. He was very personable, knowledgable, and professional. He kept us laughing throughout our whole appointment. H&R Block would be wise to keep their employees happy so they can all be as much of a joy to work with as Cris was.
