Great place to bring your vehicle. Had to completely replace my engine in my 17 F82. The team was very accommodating and clear about the costs and needs throughout the process. By far the most extensive repair/modification Ive ever had done on any car Ive owned, and couldnt have found a better place to get the work done. I lucked out using reviews online (wasnt referred here), but am certainly happy to endorse this place. Chris at the desk was so helpful and kept me informed at each step along the way. Trevor knows his stuff and it reflected in the quality of the work. Another thing that was really surprising was how quickly such an extensive repair was finished? I waited longer on the engine to show up than it took for them to do the work. They even cleaned and waxed my car at the end. Superb Service.Ive waited a few days and a few hundred miles (just had to make sure the engine didnt fall out (^.^)b ) to say this, HQ Autosport is the BEST!

HQ Autosport is my go-to spot for my Mercedes S Class without a doubt. I was tired of being overpriced at the dealership and I found these guys that treat me amazingly. Excellent detailed workmanship keeps my car running smooth and Chris with his all-out customer service, reminds me where I need to stay. I have a Porsche Macan Turbo that was in need of an oil change. After checking with the other local German car services in the area found HQ to be the most reasonable. Chris also gave me insight to an issue with my vehicle that was still under warranty. HQ is my go to from now on. Great service, friendly, and reasonable prices. I highly recommend.

This place is a great cost-and time-effective alternative to going to the dealer for service and repair. I already sense a more personable relationship with me and my A4.👍Just had my 2nd set of services done at HQ and can honestly say that I plan to continue maintenance & restoration of my 2012 A4 S line 6 speed manual shift. With 205k miles on it now, my plan is to have HQ Autosport take this car to my grave.😁 This is my 2nd A4 in 20 years and the dealership(s) are wondering what happened to me. Their service reminders & solicitations now get trashed and deleted.Also kudos to Chris for the hookup on how to get Chesapeake Blue Crab here in San Diego👍

My new BMW mechanic. Chose HQ as a RepairPal location near me because of 5 star rating. First time I’ve used an aftermarket car warranty called Olive Complete Care ($100/mo). 2017 BMW 440i with coolant leak. Chris said he’d work with Olive. His shop diagnosed water pump leak and additional need for new engine mounts. Olive okayed the work and covered it with a $400 deductible. Kudos to Chris at HQ as well as Olive Branch. My 2019 X5 manufacturer warranty just expired and I’m going to get a policy from Olive for it. And I’ll be back at HQ.

Great customer service and really fair pricing. Brought in our Audi Q5. Was in town visiting family and they made sure to get us back on the road in a timely manner and made drop off/pickup after hours easy. In the past they’ve also topped off oil and steering fluid at no charge, which Audi owners know is amazing since the cars do burn oil. Stand up customer service.Wish I lived closer to make them our regular auto shop!

Chris and the crew repaired our 2014 VW perfectly and were able to do the service in 2 days verses the 3 weeks others were saying…Review part 2 - so I also have a 2015 Golf tdi wagon that also needed a timing belt repair. This is was another great service example - in and out in 1 day!Oh even more crazy, the quote I got to do the repair was totally inline, but when I picked up the car and got the final bill, was I shocked!!!It was actually a little less than the quote- I’ve never heard of that from a repair shop🤩

Family have been searching for service for our 4 MBZs. Took my C300 in for an oil change. Excellent service, fair price. Chris & Paul are awesome. They will send you an email with photos of what they find and what service will need to done next, and its more like a guide as to what to do next. Theyll explain what is needed and what can be done a bit later. No pressure to get it all done at once, no upsell. Will bring all our vehicles to them for maintenance and service/repairs. Finally an honest german auto service provider!!! Very happy with them.

I took my Audi A8L into HQ ASGA for an all wheel alignment after getting new wheels from another place who didnt tell me they dont have the proper alignment machine. HQ did have the correct equipment and did a great job making sure all wheels/tires were correctly mounted before dialing in the alignment. The steering wheel is now dead on accurate, the car drives like it did fresh from the factory (yes, I took German delivery), and HQ even performed a complimentary complete vehicle check. I think I found the best source to take my German cars going forward. I just feel bad about not going there sooner.

Great team at HQ Autosport German Auto! I recently took my car in with a potential coolant leak issue, they did a vacuum test, and other checks to troubleshoot the issue. Their approach was methodical, thorough, and communication was great. They also did a tire change and alignment.Overall I was extremely satisfied with the work done, their attention to detail and professionalism is commendable. The work was done promptly and the quality of service was great. Paul and Kenji were accommodating and fun to talk to, we traded some racing stories, and showed us some of their past wins and future projects.I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in the area looking for a shop with trustworthy and knowledgeable staff.

Overall it was a good experience, however my expectations for the overall inspection were not met. I would have liked to have known what the tire tread depth measurements were so I could plan on future tire purchases. As well I would have liked to have seen the measurement for the thickness of each brake pad so that I could determine what condition the brakes were in. My past service dealer always included those items and I guess my expectations were for the same.1/30/2023 - I spoke with Paul and there had been some miscommunication and he offered to have me bring the car back in for a follow up inspection. In subsequent visits Kenji and Paul have been great to work with. Their service has been very good and I plan on continuing to use HQ to service my Macan.5/22/2023 - I have been taking my 2016 Macan into HQ for oil changes, spark plug replacement, brakes and they have always done an excellent job. Good guys and Im going to continue to have them do the work needed. Thank you12/29/2023 - I recently had to replace the transmission in my 2016 Porsche Macan S, (I really wonder about the real quality of Porsche). HQ performed the installation with professionalism, knowledge and customer care. The dealer would not deliver the new transmission for 3 or 4 days, so Paul took their truck down to San Diego and picked it up himself. The installation of the computer programming was another issue and the technician stayed after one night until 8:30 to get the programming done. Both of these went beyond normal. The car runs very well and I will continue to go to HQ for all my maintanance and repair needs for my car. Well done Paul and Kenji!

A great experience, all together! I take both my car and my wife’s car to them, and I don’t see a reason of changing that anytime soon. Just for explain myself, it feels like family when you get there. It’s like having your uncle at the front desk, giving you honest estimates and explaining all charges for the parts and labor, and your cousins, highly trained Mechanics in German engineering, repairing your car. Friendly approach, smiling faces, great work done on timely manner, good prices for the work done!

They put an exhaust on my car, not only did they get the part shipped in less than 24 hrs, but had an opening to come in the next day and have it installed. In less that 48 hours they ordered and installed. Wonderful company and service, highly recommend.

I have found my regular mechanic! Great people absolutely awesome prices! The dealership was trying to charge me way more than what I paid at HQ. BMWs are very expensive to repair so finding a place that is reasonable and that will give me the price upfront without any hidden fees is great! I will use HQ as long as I have my BMW. Paul, Kenji, and the mechanic were all really cool and easy to talk to. My car runs really well and no more oil leaks. I have zero complaints!! Thank you HQ!!!

I had an awesome experience at HQ Autosport. Everyone was incredibly personable and friendly. The turn around time was amazing. They also went above and beyond and adjusted my steering for no additional cost. I brought my car in to them for an alignment, some front end suspension work and an oil change. I received a mailer for a discount on an oil change. They looked legit so I stopped by to look at their facility. Paul, one of the owners showed me around, and discussed my needs. I was impressed. I had an excellent experience with HQ Autosport. My trusted mechanic of 10 years had retired and I needed some extensive work done. Ive tried other Escondido German maintenance shops and was fairly disappointed. It may sound crazy, but I dont trust my Porsche 996 with just anyone. I dropped by HQ to meet the partner, Paul, to Check the cut of his jib. He was personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend them . Most recently I had a fault in my Central Locking system. It was diagnosed quickly and repaired. Unfortunately HQ AUTO isnt a dealer and to complete the repair I needed to go to SD Porsche and needed them replace a Security Module and recode Security. HQ AUTOSPORT has a relationship there, so the coordination was seamless. Yes, it was a little inconvenient, but I had the result I needed. VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER.

Decided to try HQAutosport because of the oil change coupon that came in the mail. They were ready for me at the appointment time and commented that when starting the car it sounded like the battery was weak.I asked them to check the battery with a load test and observed that it was indeed low. Checked my records and the battery was over 4 years old so we replaced it.The oil change was done also and I was in and out in under a hour.Everyone was friendly, the waiting room was clean. I’ll use them again.

Paul and his team were extremely professional and knowledgeable. Their inspection and approval process is the most organized one I’ve see till this day. I took my Audi in due to a check engine light, next day after dropping off the vehicle I received the full inspection not only on what was causing the check engine light but also a very organized sheet that laid out other things that will need to be fixed down the road. They organize that inspection in a urgent to not urgent color coordinated graph. I got the quote for the repair via text and approved it on their web system. They got the car fixed and back in my hands in the time they told me. What I really appreciated and won me over as a customer was when we were going over what work they did Paul mentioned that in fixing the root of my check engine cause a very expensive part was damaged but they replaced the entire part at their cost. All I ended up paying was the original quote. Not many shops would be honest and take a loss like that most would of lied and charged the customer for parts they damage. My car is running flawless thanks to them so I will definitely be going back for any repairs my Audi needs.

Recently, HQ hosted a BMW CCA meet&greet. I am a heavy DIY hotrodder, and do all of my work myself. However, I got such a good vibe from the guys and the shop that I booked an alignment for my race-suspension 135i. I could not be more pleased. Was not able to organize a ride, so I had to wait. They accommodated me with a beautiful lounge and internet, great conversation, and they had me out the door in only a couple hours in a car that drives twice as amazing as before I came in. First time I brought my Porsche 997.1 C2S in for a minor repair (plastic oil neck filler tube replacement) there was an incident that resulted in HQ needing to bring my car to an auto body repair shop. They handled the situation the best they could, and provided a discount on the repair. I was on the fence as to whether I was ever going to go back there, but I decided to give them another shot, thinking stuff happens. Im glad I did. I wanted to get all four corners new shocks and struts, etc., spacers installed, and an oil change. HQs quote for the job was less than two other local German car repair shops, and they were the only ones that were willing to hear me out regarding the prices I found online for the shocks and struts. What most impressed me is the care and communication Paul and Kenji provide. When I first picked my car up (which only took a day, and they were able to get me in ASAP), everything seemed fine. Then the next day I discovered some vibration, and the steering wheel was shaking at speeds between 64-69 MPH. I let Paul know, and he offered to get me in right away to look at it (this was the day b4 Thanksgiving, so next available was Monday). On Sunday I headed towards downtown SD for a Porsche car show, however before I got on the highway I heard a loud CRACK and extreme shaking. I immediately called AAA, then texted HQ. Paul almost immediately replied and offered to meet me and the tow truck at HQ, so I wouldnt have to leave the car outside. Remember this is a Sunday on Thanksgiving weekend. Long story short the LF spacer was not hubcentric and caused the wheel weights to dislodge into the disc brake system, and severed the brake line. They quickly ordered all necessary parts, and had me back on the road issue-free by Tuesday afternoon. The way Paul, Kenji, and Troy (the mechanic) handled this situation, and their excellent customer service and communication has turned me into a lifelong customer. I wont be bringing my car anywhere but HQ Autosport from now on.

Took my 2005 BMW 330i in for a check engine light, fluid replacement, and clutch problems. These guys are top notch professionals that made everything very easy. I especially like there software service package as it communicated with me throughout the entire process informing me of needed repairs via my mobile phone and email after the initial inspection providing detailed descriptions and pictures of items needing repair. Turned out I needed a new clutch, flywheel, and address various oil leaks which they took care of in no time at a great price compared to dealerships. Couldnt be happier with the service and highly recommend the HQ Autosport team to anyone!

I was quoted 1900,00 + for a water pump and thermostat for my 2009 Bmw 535 after the car over heated and was towed to the dealership I called hq Autosport and talked to paul the owner explained what the dealership quoted, they saved me about 30% over the dealership, using the same parts and warranty! And one day turn around! They also did a full safety inspection on the car while it was there at no extra cost!! Super honest shop I will recommend them to all my friends with European cars! 👍🏻
