Worst company ever! They just take your money. I have set up multiple loans through them. The deceived me, tricking me into thinking I took a loan out to pay my state taxes. And they kept it saying it was there fee. They are not only trying to charge people almost 2,000 a year.. but then they do nothing after they have the money. I have been garnished multiple times. I had to do the leg work to figure it out. And now that I have figured out they were scamming me, I have been trying to get back the thousands I have given to them. I have now tried to contact Corey for 25 days straight, to get ahold of Corey or anyone that will assist in getting my money back. They won’t call me back, they won’t respond they won’t answer the phones. If you use this company, you’re an idiot! Don’t get caught up in the mess I am in. Save yourself thousands and get a real company. Use a local company that is trusted and that you can go into there office and talk to them.

They promised to handle my taxes and the supposed money I owed and I never heard from them or any updates since I made payments, the state threatened to put a lien on my account, I communicated, sent them copies of the letters I received, This company is disgusting and I am not sure they know what they are doing, I am STILL chasing their state rep. Down by calling every day when they have been promising to call me back! Save your money and hire somebody else, they are not good at what they do, you are better off using the money they charge to just pay the IRS.

Do not hire this company. Paid them thousands in fees over two years. Not one thing filed. Now my passport is being denied for back taxes. Called and called and no one ever returns a call. Filing a criminal case against them.

This company took money promised to help. Over a year later still nothing resolved, but an email recently stating they want another 5k+ to get resolved and they go hard this time. Any review above one star has to be paid for, or bots. They get away with it by figuring if you coming to them you never going to be able to afford legal fees to come after them.

I would give them negative stars if I could. After paying $10,000 for help with a payment plan to the IRS, our wages have been garnished 100%. We were told that our wages could NOT be garnished more than 25% yet the IRS continues to take 100%. Several phone calls have been unanswered AFTER we sent them the information theyve requested, while our wages continue to be garnished. They sent a short-worded email saying they are working on our problem...well over 2 weeks ago. My stress and anxiety is through the roof as I dont know if Im going to ever receive a paycheck.

Save every last dime of your hard earned money. Trust and believe that if you dont these folks will take all that you have earned and make your problem worse and your life a living hell. I have even contemplating taking my own life because of the ineptitude of these people. I am not lying. There are so many people working there that they never have any answers when I call. I even asked who the supervisor or manager is and they dont know. Who does that? When dealing with a tax problem this whole system and process will only make you more depressed and anxious. Please trust me on this one. You can thank me later. ...but whatever you do, drive far away from these folks. Maybe call a smaller firm? Ive got no clue. Just please, Im begging you... dont call them.

When I contacted Honest Tax with a question and we started talking about some of my back business and personal tax issues, I was skeptical. Once they assigned me to Cowana Stewart, that faded quickly away because she paid close attention to what I was saying, asked relevant questions to clarify and when I had a question that she could not immediately answer, she would say she would call me back, and she did promptly every time. I am confident that I am dealing with a professional employee as well as a professional company. Thanks Honest Tax !

From: Bonnie Dellinger on 11-01-22 This post may not make a huge difference to anyone considering the amount, but it will help me get it off my chest. Honest Tax did not complete the job that they were paid to do. Honest promised to “eliminate” the debt owed the IRS; however, they did not eliminate the debt, they only postponed repayment to the IRS. I was shocked when I finally received a letter from the IRS stating “the case was closed because currently not collectible; however, the original amount of $4,912 was still owed along with ongoing penalties and interest”. When I contacted Honest about this letter, their rep told me that I should be happy with the results that I received since the IRS could not issue any liens on the debt, would stop the constant threats, and seemed to be irritated that I even questioned the results because the debt would be resolved in 5 years; however, the IRS will take any future refunds will be applied to the amount owed. In fact, I’m thinking now that they more or less scammed me. The tax rep (who is no longer with Honest) asked me to hold during the initial phone call while he got an IRS rep on the phone. During this 3-way conversation, the IRS rep said that he could probably get the debt settled for around $500. (Now I realize this should have been a red flag for me.) The amount owed to the IRS at the time was $4,900. That left the remainder of approx. $2,000 going to Honest. I agreed to pay Honest to get this accomplished; however, now I’m thinking this was not my smartest move as this was definitely not the outcome. I have documentation to prove what I was promised when I originally hired them so I do intend to contact the BBB. As it stands, I would have been much better off to have just sent the $2,500 to the IRS and would now owe half of the debt.As a side note, I am 76 years old and paid this money for my daughter in hopes that when she did find a job and start working again, she would not have to deal with the IRS garnishing her wages and possibly losing her job over this. My daughter has absolutely no assets and she lives with me. I told the tax rep all this in the beginning. My daughter has since completed some training for a job and has a certificate. So, for instance, if she pays $1,000 to the IRS each year for 5 years, then she has paid off the debt. This has been one of my regrets that I ever got involved with Honest and I have certainly learned a life lesson (even at my age)!!

I have reached out for months for a response with my federal tax situation and currently paying them for service, and nobody will respond to me. Ive used two different attorneys for this situation and paid over $3,000, and still in the same spot with my federal taxes. Honestly, Honest tax and other legaltax services is not to honest on communicating with their paying clients.

Due to circumstances that was out of my control, I ended up with a tax liability of over 100K. I took all the necessary steps that I thought I knew to take. I then contacted Honest Tax who came highly recommended from my EX. After my first conversation with Ryan I felt confident that I had contacted the right person. Was with Honest tax for 2+ years. Lots of promises made up front and down hill from there. I had over 6 account managers, they either quit or were fired. Was told numerous times they were hiring a jam up tax lawyer. He finally came on board had me spending an additional $1200 a month for disposable income reasoning that is besides the 10K+ starting fee. They screwed up two years of returns and blamed it on me and wanted to charge me 8K more to keep going.

I hired Honest Tax and they walked me through the stresses of dealing with some misfiled returns. I felt comfortable and assured the entire time I was dealing with a team of professionals. I’m in the process of a bankruptcy and needed help sorting out a tax lien. I called Honest Tax fully expecting and prepared to pay a reasonable fee to deal with the IRS and related issues.They responded to my email immediately. The agent I was connected with got me on a conference call with the IRS within 24 hours of contacting them. Before the call, they prepared me for the questions the IRS agent would ask of me. They requested copies of relevant documents, and I had those within an hour of the call. All of this before we had even discussed a fee.Turns out that my tax issues weren’t as complex as I had feared, and once they’d realized this, they suggested I take the documents they’d procured for me to a low-cost tax prep company like HR Block. When I asked them why they were passing me off to another unrelated company without asking for a fee, after spending some 2+ hours doing work to sort out my issues, they told me that they wanted to make sure that I really needed their particular services before contracting with me.Yes, you read that right. Honest Tax didn’t want to contract with me if my problems could be handled easily and less expensively with a generic tax prep company. I’ve never heard of such a thing. “Honest” Tax is an appropriate moniker, but if they ever have need or desire of changing their name, I suggest “Ethical” Tax. Both are 100% appropriate.I hope I never need the services of a tax firm such as Honest Tax again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to go back to them for help. I will also confidently refer them to anyone who ever needs such assistance. There is no doubt in my mind that they would be the best tax advocate I could ask for.

This morning I received a phone call for Honest Tax, and I spoke with Mr William Garner. This gentlemen made my day, not only am I excited but also relieved. I have to say that with all these tax service/tax relief companies these days, claiming they will get your taxes owed to IRS reduced dramatically (its just NOT the case if you have decent income and can pay off full amount within 10 years), the name Honest Tax had me a little skeptical. But over 7 months ago I had been desperately looking for a good tax service to help me get my mess with the IRS cleared up once and for all, so I contacted them and told them about my situation. I first spoke to Logan on the phone who was very thorough and asked me detailed information on my tax info, and I was very impressed with her way of explaining everything to me and how honest she was (no big promises)... I also told Logan that I had started using a tax service thats been around for quite some time, but wasnt completely happy with the way they were handling my tax situation (always very minimal in the conversation, not that caring it seemed, and wasnt really being very clear what they could do to clear up my tax nightmare). She told me she was familiar with that tax service organization, and seemed disappointed that I wasnt too pleased with the service I was receiving. We talked a little bit more, but I was at work and had to end the phone call after a good 30+ mins of conversation.Later that same day, I got a call back from Logan who told me she wanted me to talk to her Sr. VP at Honest Tax, Mitchell Agnew, because as it turns out Mr. Agnew was an acquaintance of my current tax guy. So Logan handed the call over to him, and I spoke with Mr. Agnew for a while about my tax situation, and I must say I was impressed with Mr. Agnew a great deal... Especially when he told me they would be more than happy to handle my tax mess, but that he wanted to be honest with me and tell me my current tax guy and his company were actually very good at what they do. He went as far to say that even though they were competitors, they had respect for this other tax service, and that I should consider giving my current tax service another chance at handling my taxes. So I did decide to stick with my current tax guy, but I still wonder if I should have made the switch to Honest Tax (especially since my tax nightmare still not completely cleared up). Who knows, I still may make that switch... Or at least maybe the next time the IRS makes my life miserable (if there is another time God forbid), I will call on their services. But one thing is for sure, I have to say that the name of their company is not a bunch of BS... I mean, who does that these days? I firmly believe that this truly IS an HONEST TAX Relief company!

None of the emails work people get fired dont let you know I send an email addresses back the guy in the phone is rude talks when youre talking and cuts you off. I was told that if I entered into a contract I wouldnt have to worry about a lien coming against me I enter into a contract and then later they tell me its a probationary. And that things will be off after a few years I feel like Ive been lied too, this is the third time I had miscommunication with them. They filed late but its my fault when I came to them for help!!!!!

I explained my problem and after 45 min with a lot of back and forth questions and answers they decided that Honest Tax would not be able to help me. I felt like I made a couple of new friends. Honest Tax treated me with respect and understanding. Not once did I feel judged, or looked down upon. I was very embarrassed at first, because I was working and not filing my taxes. I felt like I was not pulling my share. Will Cooper Talked to me about my situation and made me feel much better. I hired this company in 2019. I dont have the patience to give a detailed description of the horrible experience I had but let me tell you that they only made my situation worse and in 2+ years, pre and post covid, did not accomplish anything for me and then wondered why I stopped the payments half way through. The IRS has confirmed that they NEVER put in for an offer or negotiated down my taxes. They actually offered to file my taxes for me, then after 4 months and with me not allowed to speak directly to the preparer with my questions or for clarification about what they asked for, I found out much later (when I filed myself the next year because the experience had been so bad) - THEY NEVER FILED THE YEAR BEFORE. This company changes case workers like a babys diaper and they are NOT HONEST. RUN!!!!

These people are dishonest. They told me that they wouldnt take my case unless they could reduce my tax debt. After a year they proudly told me that they had a structured settlement for me. I had a structured settlement already with the IRS. They will not lower your tax. Dont buy into the lies.

I dialed out to Honest Tax for some help/consultation help I needed. Lucios was the one that talked to me and gave me great advice on what I needed. He was extremely knowledgeable, attentive to my needs/questions, and gave great suggestions to benefit my situation. I feel that not all tax professionals act this way especially on the initial phone call. Lucious was extremely kind, thorough, and helped me understand the situation in English rather than lawyer-talk. All of his advice did not go down the drain, and I implemented them. I spoke with a gentleman named Harrison Rose and not only did he put up with me taking forever to call him back, he also stayed on top of my tax issue better then I did! Mr. Rose is very down to earth, dependable, honest, giving, informative, and thorough.Thanks to Mr. Rose and Honest Tax I had one of the best days of my life the last time we spoke. That is because I currently live in a shelter and only work part-time so funds are ALWAYS TIGHT! Even worse now due to the pandemic. He went out of his way to assist me with a 3-way call to a legitimate IRS agent and she stated that I no longer have any dues owed to the Federal government. I was in complete shock. I mean the amount previously owed was almost 12,000$ which is no chump change. To me at least.
