I had a wonderful experience at Holistic Hyperbarics. This was my first time diving and the staff and so kind and professional. This is a beautiful concierge medicine environment, with all the details thought out. Each staff member made me feel comfortable with each step of the process and I really enjoyed my time in the chamber. Afterward it was so relaxing to rest in the decompression room, reclined with water, warm towels and soothing music. I was feeling run down from traveling when I arrived and was so pleased to feel energized and more motivated to exercise after one session. Thank you for creating a warm and welcoming place for healing!

Im beyond happy with my experiences at Holistic Hyperbarics. The staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I love the aesthetics and the whole facility is clean, calming and well designed. I was very nervous during my first dive but the staff were super accommodating and reassuring. Many relayed their own personal experiences with HBOT which was very helpful to hear. I got to meet Alex on my first visit and she has been very supportive and involved with the unique requirements of my specific protocol to treat stage 4 breast cancer.

Came here for treatment for my concussion. Wonderful staff, the facility was extremely clean, organized, efficient and lots of attention to detail. Alex the owner is awesome. I felt extremely cared for, as did my partner and daughter who were waiting for me in the lobby enjoying complimentary snacks and the massage chair. Will definitely be returning for more treatments!

If I could give more stars, I would! After struggling with dizziness for a year after toxic mold exposure and having tried various treatments, I was discouraged. I read about hyperbaric oxygen therapy and decided to try it. To my surprise, it has really helped me. I feel so much better and am beyond grateful. In addition to being an incredibly effective treatment, this place is run by incredible humans who are kind, professional, knowledgeable and dedicated. I cannot recommend this place more highly.

I came in for a session to help with the healing process of a herniated disc. My lower back was always feeling a lot of pain and I knew only time was the only option to help slowly recover. But of course, I’m always looking for solutions that can speed up the healing process so I can go back to training and moving normally in my day to day life. What better way to give it a shot to help speed up the process by going through the oxygen hyperbaric therapy!I’ve felt pretty much the same pain in my disc for a week, just very slightly getting better, but not fast enough to my liking and so I tried to keep a very objective analysis on how my recovery went after just having one session with Holistic Hyperbarics to see the difference on how my body responded.I must say, the session was great and I notice right off the bat there was a slight difference in pain tolerance and I felt I was able to walk even better without having as much pain. After sleeping and waking up the next day, I definitely noticed as if I made a huge leap in recovery. I felt like I just saved almost a weeks worth of healing for my disc and helped speed up the process.Truly amazing! I’m happy I went here and I love the little relaxed after session where they give you the option to sit and drink some nice water and vitamins in a relaxing ambient room when you finish the oxygen therapy. Highly recommend !

I had a revision surgery - and it was recommended that I complete 5 sessions. After calling several facilities- many were very expensive, put you on a waitlist and lets not forget the subpar conversation I had with the Walnut Creek facility!HOLISTIC HYPERBARICS staff are knowledgable and caring. Alex called me directly to get an understanding of my situation. That spoke volumes to me, since I needed to treat this issue and really didnt understand how hyperbaric works. Everyone there walked me through the process and the facility is extremely clean and accommodating.Shame on Kaiser for not allowing Holistic Hyperbarics to be on the referral system. Its very frustrating when they only offer one facility in WC that only has three beds and limited hours, not to mention poor phone etiquette.I would gladly pay out of pocket to go to Holistic Hyperbaric and drive the extra 13 miles for the care, cost, and hour flexibility.If anyone is thinking about trying Hyperbarics, I would HIGHLY recommend Holistic Hyperbarics in Emeryville!

Alex and her staff are incredibly nurturing, empathetic, and encouraging. My father-in-law has been going to hyperbaric for a debilitating stroke. He is paralyzed on his right side and the team is able to safely transfer him into and out of the chamber, as well as tend to his extra needs throughout the appointment. We are noticing that he is stronger, speaking way more clearly, and happier since he has started going consistently. Were looking forward to his continued growth as each appointment he seems to grow stronger and stronger.My husband and I are now attending hbot therapy for fertility. My husband has noticed that his knee pain from a 15 year-old injury is getting better! We are still in the process so we dont know whether it has worked or not but we have enjoyed the process. Alex even worked with us on scheduling so that we could go to appointments after work, even though they are supposed to be closed.We highly recommend Alex and her team and hyperbaric therapy!

My treatments at holistic hyperbarics have become essential to maintaining my quality of life. I have Ehler’s-Danlos Syndrome, which is a rare connective tissue disorder that causes the collagen in my body to behave like chewed bubble gum instead of the elastic bands it should be. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has helped me maintain lower levels of chronic pain, helped me heal from joint surgeries faster (I typically have delayed healing), and has been key in treating gastroparesis. I was on a medical formula liquid diet before I regularly started coming for treatment. I can now eat solid foods if I am mindful about how I do so. I can remember how exciting it was to feel my stomach start to move again during treatment and to feel hunger instead of nausea for the first time in a very long time. Treatments have also saved me from emergency room trips for skin ulcers and infections— keeping me from needing to heal an open wound in the process.The staff and facilities at Holistic Hyperbarics are absolutely incredible. The experience is truly top notch. The employees remember who I am and the facility has come to feel like a second home. The new location is absolutely gorgeous and I am so excited about the other modalities that they hope to offer soon. I honestly do not know what I would do without this life altering treatment. I have been able to avoid a feeding tube and am able to still live a relatively active lifestyle and continue my career as a dog walker and trainer in large part because of the care I receive here. I highly recommend hyperbaric oxygen therapy for people with chronic pain conditions and people with EDS.

Hi, Im a patient in my late 60s about to complete my 50th hyperbaric oxygen treatment and want to share my experience with the incredible team at Holistic Hyperbarics.I recently received a devastating diagnosis of aggressive uterine cancer. My daughter insisted that I accept her Christmas gift of 50 dives (50 hyperbaric oxygen treatments). She had faith and wanted so badly for me to give oxygen therapy a try. While I was focused on logistics (the cost, the bus rides, the hours spent) she focused on healing. I was at my breaking point trying to find something or someone who could help me heal a health condition after my doctor left me with minimal resources. My friend spoke to me about hyperbaric and after looking into my options I was completely discouraged. I am one of the many who have fallen through the cracks when it comes to medical support. My insurance company doesn’t cover my case and most hyperbaric clinics I’ve found were beyond my financial ability as a mental health provider. That’s when I found Holistic Hyperbaric!Alex, the owner, is not only passionate about what she offers but is completely heart centered in her approach. You can tell she truly cares her clients and her staff. Alex doesn’t want to turn anyone away. At present, this treatment is mainly accessed by those who are covered by insurance or the upper class, often excluding the middle class and marginalized communities. This technology is truly remarkable in healing and should be available to all of humanity. Holistic Hyperbarics is the real deal! It is impossible to describe how truly incredible this place is. My mom was recently diagnosed with cancer, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) was recommended as part of her treatment plan. We researched a bunch of local hyperbaric clinics, but Holistic Hyperbarics won us over as soon as we visited. Their clinic is gorgeous, with state of the art oxygen chambers, red light therapy beds, and related equipment. The soothing spa-like atmosphere is enhanced by the abundant plants, natural light, beautiful furnishings and soft lo-fi music.Our initial consultation with the wonderful Dr Rachelle Johnson immediately made us feel that we had come to the right place. Dr Rachelle has a knowledgable, caring presence and an energizing can-do attitude. She spent a generous amount of time with us, answering all of our questions and putting our minds at ease, referencing the latest medical studies and research, as well as her own personal experience negotiating the labyrinth of medical advice and ‘alternative’ medicine options that my mom and I had been considering. All of the staff at H.H. is incredibly kind, welcoming, and efficient.The front-desk staff was eager to make sure that we had everything we needed, and they even went so far to make my mom a hand-written valentine on Valentines Day. Of all of the exceptional individuals at Holistic Hyperbarics, the brightest angel of them all is the founder and CEO, Alex Williams. There are no words to express the brilliant, caring, funny, warm, intelligent energy that Alex exudes. In her presence, everything seems possible. Prior to founding Holistic Hyperbarics, Alex was an EMT, birth doula, a triathlete, and she worked in law enforcement. These different backgrounds overlap and weave together to create an individual who is highly attuned to the care of others, and the care for community at large. Alex understands how flawed and expensive the American healthcare system is, and she is determined to make her care accessible for all.My limited teaching salary would not have been able to cover a full treatment (40 “dives” of oxygen) for my mom without the extremely generous community-service discount that is offered at Holistic Hyperbarics. Alex’s bio on the website mentions that she is the granddaughter of Black Panthers, and this type of generosity and community service is a clear extension of the righteous community work initiated by the Panthers, like the Free Breakfast for Children program and the free medical clinics they established in the Bay Area in the 60s.My mom just completed her last HBOT session yesterday and she is feeling stronger and more energized than she has in years. I am on my second package of ten sessions with HH for my tibia bone and knee injury. My pain has decreased and I am also aiming for brain stress reduction after my terrible ski accident. The chambers are spacious and comfortable to lay down or sit inside. They give me three giant long and soft pillows to make myself feel cozy during my 90 mins sessions. I also get plenty of blankets if I feel like I need more warmth. At the end of each session stuff brings a glass of water with fresh lime/lemon and two supplements for better results. I find these extra services make me feel cared for and appreciated here. Everyone has been very friendly and compassionate every single visit! I have no idea how Alex, the owner, was able to bring in such good people to work for her. I imagine it’s her own passion to help attracts the best here. Can’t wait to combine my Hypoberic treatments with red light therapy as they plan to expand their services with the purchase of the LightStim bed.

Sadly, that isnt as common as it should be in medical settings. On Another Level!As HBOT newbies, this is the place! Alex was very patient with my mom as she maneuvered into the chamber with her arthritis, even helping her with her things.Great care is taken to treat you as you ought to be treated, like family. The place is pristine, furnished well, sounds and sights exude a sense of calm, encouraging you to slow down a little, because you lose nothing.From the locker rooms, to the chamber, our requests for extra blankets, beanies and gum were honored. Once your session is complete, you are led into the decompression room with wonderfully dim lights and a very biophilic design theme. LoFi music throughout, a set of nice hot towels, vitamins and water for you as you sink into your heated recliner.Once you’re ready, you exit with a sense of calm and presence of mind. Wow...just wow. We found Holistic Hyperbarics in December 2023 when our teenage daughter was slow to recover from a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Her symptoms included losing her ability to read, and she couldnt attend school for longer than a few hours. So we were looking for answers. After many months of treatments (acupuncture, chiropractic, craniosacral therapy, traditional western medicine, concussion clinics, etc) had no substantial effect, upon a friends recommendation we tried hyperbaric oxygen therapy at Holistic Hyperbarics and she started to recover almost immediately.The team at Holistic Hyperbarics, is super capable and a pleasure to work with. I have never done a hyperbaric treatment before and I wasn’t sure what to expect. The kind and attentive staff walked me through every step of the treatment, and made sure I was comfortable and cozy. I had hoped to help my recovery from a recent half marathon and just improve general health and one unexpected side effect was an immediate reduction in anxiety. I’m excited for future treatments in this gorgeous facility. I should also say that the capsule itself was nice and roomy and perfectly comfortable. I read a book during my treatment and was treated to warm towels and infused water in the decompression room afterward. I came to Holistic Hyperbarics with a diabetic foot ulcer/wound. The doctors at Kaiser were telling me my only option was to amputate all of my toes on that foot. I was feeling scared and hopeless and desperately looking for options to help heal my foot. I called Holistic Hyperbarics and the owner, Alex, had me come in the very next day. From that first visit, she gave me hope again. She told me it would take some dedication, but we could fix this. I started doing treatment 5 times a week. Alex kept a close eye on it - checking my progress weekly and after a couple of months, my wound is completely healed.I am so beyond grateful. Without Alex and her amazing staff, I could be in a much different situation.I would also like to add, that I am claustrophobic and had doubts that I could even do this. After my first visit, I was completely comfortable and actually looked forward to going. Everybody goes out of their way to make sure you are super comfortable. I had a patch of scary black skin after a surgery which meant it could be dying off, and my doctor prescribed hyperbaric sessions which are pure oxygen delivered to you at increased pressure in metal chambers.It sounds a bit Jules Verne, but Holistic Hyperbarics manages to make the whole experience serene and lovely. The whole staff is very kind, and you change into scrubs and assigned slippers before going into the relatively spacious metal chamber which is lined with pillows. You are given a walkie talkie for communication with the staff and then youre in a peaceful island watching Netflix. Because electronic devices like your phone arent allowed inside, its a calm experience of going off the grid. The metal chamber has several portholes, and the experience is not at all claustrophobic.While the facilities are super clean, the staff are warm and make the experience as cozy as it can be. After you finish, you are guided to the decompression room is a dimly lit space with scented hot towels, lemon/lime water, supplements to help you on your healing journey and just quiet and peace.While I was there for targeted healing, I felt so much more energized and as if a lot of inflammation in my body went down. I think the higher levels of oxygen and circulation really helped me feel better in many ways. I highly highly recommend Holistic Hyperbarics to anyone who might be recovering from injuries, surgery or even just wanting to improve their sense of well being.

I first found out about hyperbaric treatment a couple of years ago when my family met Alex and after I had torn my ACL. She recommended that i come in ten times before surgery and ten times after. The surgery was one of the most painful experiences I have ever been through and each time Id step into a chamber Id come out feeling significantly better after each session. For a comparison, I had a teammate who tore her ACL the same game as me and she didnt have access to this treatment which meant she was left to her own resources and devices to heal. Coming out of hyperbaric treatment, it let me get on the field again two almost three months earlier than my teammate, I was able to play my senior season, and now I feel like my old self thanks to the team at Holistic Hyperbarics. The new space has transformed this company and allows you to transport to a world of peace and tranquility all while receiving top notch medical care. The staff, the environment, the amenities are all something I look forward to experiencing when going in for my treatments. This was a neat experience which felt calming and healing to the body. After I adjusted to the pressure of my dive, I was able to nap or read comfortably in the chamber. There was ample room inside. I chose to wear the oxygen mask (optional) as it felt so good and refreshing, but its not necessary. I could feel my body absorbing all the oxygen into my cells! Chambers are very comfortable and sanitized between uses.I had trouble with clearing my ears and they are happy to go as slow as you need. You have a radio to let them know right away if you need it slowed down.The oxygen comes through a mask, so you can have books and electronics with you in the chamber.My sessions were during winter and the chambers were cold despite the heaters the staff ran. I wore a winter coat and gloves. It sounds like theyre moving to a new building this year, so I dont know how cold it will be in the future.

I had a truly transformative experience at HH. Every staff member and the owner was extremely patient and kind. They took the time to explain the process, the history of their business, and the benefits of hyperbaric treatment. Hands down, one of the best healing techniques Ive found so far. When first entering the facility I was overwhelmed with tranquility and calmness. Went in for an initial session on the recommendation on Alex and had a really peaceful and restorative evening. Its an incredibly unique experience and one I was a little nervous about. A week post op I developed an infection at my surgical site. Ater a week on antibiotics there wasnt much improvement so the doc started me on a second antibiotic course. A friend recommended Holistic Hyperbaric and assured me that if I went consistently it would speed up my healing so I did it. It took three dives for me to feel and even see any improvements. After my third session I could see my incision healing, it wasnt as painful and I felt less fatigued. Im not claustrophobic at all but it still is pretty strange being in an enclosed tube for 2+ hours. Yes your ears will clog very similar to when youre on a flight. Mine stayed that way the entire dive so I chewed all the gum they provide in the tube. The suite is clean and serene. They provide pillows, blankets, and gum to before the dive and vitamins, water, and hot towels when your dice is complete. The staff, oh my goodness. They are so attentive, patient, and caring. It takes about 25 mins to descend to the appropriate psi depending on your tolerance and another 25 minutes to ascend. Theres a 5 minute fresh air break at the half way mark where you take off the mask and breathe without the oxygen flowing. Dress warmly. Even with blankets its gets chilly in the tube. Empty your bladder and bring a book. You need something to do while you lay uninterrupted for two hours. This place is calming. I would absolutely do it again in the days leading up to surgery to promote healing and several days afterwards. 10 out of 10

I am a 54 year old woman who went to HH for 12 sessions over 3 weeks after major surgery in Sept. 2022. My days there were incredibly peaceful. The staff was warm and professional, it was a perfect place to heal in those first weeks. Now, four months post-surgery, I report that I definitely received major long-term benefits from my sessions. I am so glad I invested in my healing. My whole chest was cut open during surgery but four months later most of my scars are barely even visible. The team at Holistic Hyperbarics is amazing and my experience has been transformative and healing. I can really tell everyone believes in the work that they are doing and they are truly there to help people.I am struggling with long covid symptoms including fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and POTS. The care team at HH was very careful to start me out on supplemental oxygen first, which was the right decision. Gradually, my body was able to adjust to the influx of oxygen and I really think that it prevented me from losing my executive function at a critical time in my recovery. My partner and I have been going to Holistic Hyperbarics for the last couple of months, and our experience has been fantastic. The owner, Alex, has been extremely personable, empathetic, and kind in assisting us, and has accommodated a variety of our needs. The chambers themselves are very nice and clean, with a perfect spread of small necessities: blankets, pillows, adjustable lighting, and most important of all: chewing gum, to combat the pressure change.The descent, as the pressure change itself is called, has always gone smoothly, and once down, its easy to just fall asleep for the duration of the session. When the session is complete, Alex comes through to wake you via intercom, and once out, youre greeted with a glass of water and a few supplementary vitamins to accelerate your acclimation. The overall experience is very spa-like.Alex has made it clear us that their goal is to assist in healing for those in need using this fascinating approach, and has done a lot to make the healing process for my partner both more pleasant and more manageable. Were super grateful that Alex is providing mHBOT services in this area at a fraction of the cost of other providers in the area. Highly recommended!

I just had surgery two weeks ago and the pain was unbearable. I didnt want to keep using pain-killers and got a recommendation from my out-of-state doctor and my doctors patients I met on a forum to try Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments. I stumbled upon Holistic Hyperbarics after calling all the other Hyperbaric treatment centers in the Bay Area and my choice was an easy one. Not only was the treatment significantly cheaper ($160 vs $350+), but Alex seemed the most knowledgeable and caring. Her calming and confident presence on the phone reassured me that I was making the right choice, and I booked the next available appointment.When I came into the office, I was expecting a surgical-type atmosphere but was pleasantly surprised to find a tranquil and calm space. Alex and Elijah were both very friendly, attentive, and calmly walked me through the process so I knew what to expect. The details and thoughtfulness of the space and instructions were impeccable. You could tell Alex put a lot of thought into what people wanted and needed when creating her business to make her clients feel comfortable and secure.Before I got into the pod (which reminded me of a fancy tanning booth minus the harmful radiation with a plush mattress, blanket, and pillows), my ace bandages hurt from the inflammation I got from my 6-hour flight the day before, I had fluid build-up around the surgical area/shooting pains, and it hurt to breathe. Just after one 90-minute session, I felt like a new person. The inflammation decreased significantly (my bandages were visibly looser than when I had arrived), I could feel that there was less fluid in the surgical area, I breathed better, and the pain decreased by 90%! Since my first experience, Ive come in 2 more times and each time I feel much stronger. I feel like I found the secret to hacking my healing process! It makes sense logically as bodies need oxygen to carry out certain functions to heal and this is a way to do this more effectively!On top of the fantastic results I experienced, what keeps me coming back is Alex and the experience itself! She is highly versed in this space as a former EMT which puts me at ease. And the session always ends with vitamins, water, and hot towels which is something I look forward to at the end. The time always passes quickly, feeling like its only been 20 minutes, and its an excellent time to catch up on reading or take the most luxurious nap! I had a great experience with Holistic Hyperbarics from start to finish. I was looking for hyperbaric therapy and came across a few places that all looked quite medicalized and sterile. Then I heard about Holistic Hyperbarics in Oakland and saw pictures of their beautiful spa. I also learned it was run by a POC like myself and I was sold. When I called to inquire about therapy services for my specific situation Alex, the owner, was the one who answered. Alex was kind, reassuring and took the time to answer all of my questions. Alex also told me that Id be eligible for the Community Worker Discount which was a huge plus! HH was willing to work around my schedule and was incredibly accommodating - they got me in for whatever days and times I wanted. The staff were warm, caring and efficient in their work. They always made me feel safe each dive I took. Alex was very attentive in checking in on how the hyperbaric treatment was going and how my body was responding. The inside of the hbot shell was extremely comfy - a ton of pillows and blankets. I frequently took naps because it was so cozy. Staff were more than happy to adjust the lighting in the shell for napping or reading needs. The ambiance in HH is very peaceful with lots of greenery. Sitting in the fancy chairs with hot towels and fruit infused water was a relaxing treat after a dive. I cannot recommend Holistic Hyperbarics enough!!!!

The staff at HH is so caring and takes your health seriously. I came to Alex last year after dealing with post concussion syndrome for a few months. We were able to figure out a treatment plan and within 15 hyperbaric sessions, my symptoms were almost entirely gone. I had an elective surgery with a little bit of complications. My wound was strained and bruised along my incisions. My surgeon strongly recommended that I should get an oxygen treatment for my wound. Needless to say my surgeon contacted Alex from Holistic Hyperbarics and on that same day we went and sign up for 5 session but ended up taking the 10 session package. The experience was wonderful. After 5 session I went back to my surgeon and together we saw a big difference in my wound. It has dried and I was moving smoothly than in my first few days post op. My shortness of breath has tremendously been improved, my incentive spirometer reading has gone up higher when I’m doing my breathing exercises. The hyperbaric treatment has helped me tremendously! Alex was kind, patient and very accommodating. She would prepare extra pillows for me as I can’t lay flat inside the chamber. The place is very well maintained. I did my first dive last week to begin treatment for joint pain and inflammation, and it was a great experience. The staff was kind and professional, explained the procedures (with which I’d already become familiar through the online intake questionnaires prior to my appt), took my vitals and let me rest comfortably until my chamber was ready. I returned to Holistic Hyperbarics recently for an inflamed cyst on my eyelid. Within 4 sessions the inflammation was gone (yay, no lancing needed), and as an unexpected bonus my low mood improved noticeably and my sciatica decreased enough that I canceled a cortisone injection!This wasnt my first outstanding experience at Holistic Hyperbarics. Wonderful experience! I went in after a very stressful month of moving my business (12,000 lbs of industrial equipment). My back was sore and all my old injuries were feeling aggravated. Not to mention I had been sleeping poorly from the stress of it all. The day after my treatment my back and joints felt better and I got the best night of sleep I had in weeks. One of the best recovery experiences Ive ever had. I was introduced to Holistic Hyperbarics during the Norther California FIRES in late September - early October 2017. As a result of the fires, my lungs were suffering, I was sick and coughing up mucus daily. In addition to not sleeping well, I was experiencing serious issues breathing and congested for weeks. I am a wedding photographer and 1.5 days before I was supposed to photograph a wedding, I pulled some muscles in my neck that left me in excruciating pain (only second to childbirth) and so stiff I couldnt turn my head without looking like a robot. I had an amazing experience at Holistic Hyperbarics and recommend it to all my rugby buddies for both performance and recovery!I went for the first time in 2017 when I heard our national tournament was going to be held outside of Denver. With limited time to get acclimated, the oxygen therapy really gave me a performance edge and I felt no ill-effects from the dramatic increase in altitude. Since then, Ive kept coming back to help ease the aches and pains. It dramatically decreases the recovery time needed between rough sessions on the pitch.I was skeptical of hyperbaric oxygen therapy at first. But then again, Im kind of skeptical of anything. However! This is not some hippy woo-woo thing, its real medical science with proven results, delivered by medical professionals who really know their stuff. Alex was kind, down-to-earth, patient, and professional, walking me through the whole process.Plus, their office is gorgeous. And there are cookies.

I’ve been coming to see Alex and the team for A few months in between hospital stays to address a myriad of chronic illness. We have focused on using Hyperbarics to help with my immune system and post-surgical care and it has been so amazing! What was so special and unique were the subtle little touches that gave me a true sense of respite and allowed for full relaxation. A real spa like feeling, complete with warmed moist towels, vitamins and infused filtered water; all designed to aide in the ultimate healing experience.Plus, the place is all people friendly. The staff is diverse and incredibly kind and helpful.Its also, a really pleasant environment— clean but not sterile with real plants everywhere and comfortable seating with neutral yet stylish interior.The exterior has grit, as in the Street where Hyperbarics is located— I took a taxi/Lyft here and found that was an ideal way to come and go.

I’m now three weeks post-op from a hip replacement due to a bicycle accident. The orthopedist today was amazed at how well I am doing, how nicely healed the surgical incision is coming along. The doctor today said I’m well ahead of the usual rate of healing. At three weeks I’m where some people take six weeks to be this far along. This will be my 12th “dive” in the large chamber and I’m sure giving my busily self-repairing body this oxygen dose has improved my recovery. The staff is professional and friendly, and while the finishing touches are still being worked on at the new Adeline St. clinic/ spa, this is truly a great place to help make oneself whole and healthy again. Great experience. The chamber takes a little getting used to and I would highly recommend not drinking anything prior to entering since the pressure pushes on your bladder (Id had a cup of coffee). Overall, the experience was comfortable, clean, and helped me feel rejuvenated. Alex was great about explaining the process and making me feel taken care of.

I am a Pro rugby player, Ive been training so hard getting myself ready for an upcoming rugby tournament event and one week out I strained my groin and I couldnt go 100% with three days left before the big day. So on Wednesday I had to pull out of training because my groin was bothering me. Thank goodness I came crossed HOLISTIC HYPERBARIC and I was able to book a session on Friday before my game on Saturday. I promise it was worth every penny. After doing extensive research for months on how to treat my Long Covid symptoms (nerve pain, chest pain, insomnia, shortness of breath, fatigue, multiple GI issues extreme brain fog, memory loss, dissociation, severe depression), I found Holistic Hyperbarics and am FINALLY feeling relief. I heard about HBOT through the Body Politic Long Covid Support Group, looked up centers near me, and Holistic Hyperbarics popped up. The reviews were stellar, so I decided it was time to pursue it. I did some preliminary research on the science behind hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and it seemed to align with my needs: reducing systemic inflammation, supporting lung function, among many other benefits.My other practitioners just wanted to treat the symptoms (and prescribe pharmaceuticals that ended up just making all of my symptoms so much worse), but I believe the hyperbaric oxygen is treating the root cause at the cellular level. My nerve pain and chest pain have been all but eliminated, fatigue is lifting, shortness of breath and GI issues are SIGNIFICANTLY better, and my brain clarity/mood has improved. More specifically, after the first treatment, I was pretty exhausted and felt a bit flu-ish for a couple hours. But then the next day I woke up, and felt like a part of my brain turned on. It also felt like some of my depression had lifted which was HUGE because I was hardly responsive emotionally for months.What was even more astounding was I had gone from struggling to just walk down the block without chest pains and shortness of breath, to, after just one treatment, I walked a mile with no issues. I couldnt believe it. For some context, I am 24 years old, so this may play a role in such a quick improvement on that front, but to be honest, I feel like HBOT really produces life changing results, regardless of age or ability - the timeline just may be different for everyone depending on your unique needs. And again, I cannot stress the improvement in mood enough. To feel like I could laugh and sing again (and even dance again), did wonders for my soul/mind/body/spirit. And is continuing to contribute to my healing even now.Alex and her team have been extremely supportive, providing guidance and recommendations for the best protocol to treat me conservatively (so my body can acclimate to the increased oxygen) but with results. I really feel like Alex is invested in building deep, meaningful relationships with her patients, while also incredibly motivated to see you heal. Hyperbarics have also been very accommodating regarding my schedule since I am commuting an hour each way for the treatments. I dont understand why more doctors arent recommending this treatment as it has been shown to be very safe and effective!!!! Im hoping Alex opens a Holistic Hyperbarics on the peninsula soon so my commute is shorter...but the good news is that hopefully by then I probably wont need it. :)At this point, I feel like I can confidently say that I am healing - even though I am afraid to jinx it lol. It takes a long time, but its happening. I still am dealing with symptoms, but have been able to narrow it down to my top 3 instead of like the 30 symptoms I was working with a couple months ago.What has helped me the most - to all my LHers out there!!! - is supporting my body at a cellular, systemic level. The most powerful things for my healing have been a VERY committed ketogenic diet (high fat, moderate protein, low carb) to rebuild the microbiome, red light therapy, and of course, hyperbaric oxygen therapy. There is so much hope for LHers - it is out there - it just takes some time to find the right treatment. But with Alex and HH, you are in the right place. Dont let Western doctors tell you that you have to just live with illness for the rest of your life. I am so happy to be introduced to Hyperbaric Therapy. During my intial visit I felt Alex and assistant were professional, kind, and knowledgeable about the Hyperbaric process. I stayed in the oxygen chamber for 90mins. During the treatment I felt comfortable enough to follow a guided meditation; and if I had questions a staff member would communicate with me via walkie-talkies. And it’s working.Plus, the “spa” is incredibly pleasant. I honestly thought being locked inside a large pressurized metal tube for an hour and a half would be difficult. Instead, once my ears adjusted at the beginning, it was incredibly relaxing, a place to relax and read with soothing white noise. I could communicate at any time through walkie talkies with staff, who circled every 15 minutes reassuringly. I woke up one day getting ready for another busy day in the ER. My ear starting ringing, and by the time I got to work I was devastatingly deaf in my right ear. I had this confirmed with tears in my eyes by audiology testing and got steroid injections and pills which I was on for two weeks. I didn’t have improvement and decided to look up on my own if there was anything else out there I could do. I found out about Hyperbarics for sudden hearing loss at this point. Despite being at the 2 week mark of deafness (the time where hearing recovery becomes slim) I called Alex and she scheduled me in right away. After half of my HBOT treatment, despite the odds, and proven by my repeat hearing test, I’ve recovered enough hearing to be able to make out the the sounds of speech via air pod/headphone-something I was unable to do on my initial test. I couldn’t hear vocal sounds even until they turned it up so loud it was physically painful! Hearing these sounds is the difference between qualifying for a hearing aide or not! My main advice to anyone reading this with any sort of hearing loss is this: Advocate for yourself and get into the hyperbaric chamber as soon as possible! Look up the science for yourself, share it with your doctor, get a second opinion! Alex and her team were beyond helpful in my recovery. The calm, supportive manner of the staff was essential in my recovery. I didn’t have to explain to anyone about my hearing loss, because they made eye contact, were patient with me, and took the time to make sure I was comfortable.

I broke my shoulder in a cycling accident, and started HBOT as part of my rehabilitation process. I was able to go thru the rehab process without using any pain meds, and the best part was when after 10 weeks I went back in for my follow up orthopedics appointment and the doctor exclaimed - Oh WOW! I didnt expect you to be healed by now with full movement and flexibiity. You are 3 months ahead of schedule. Living with autoimmune is tough enough, but when I contracting Covid, after 9 months of continual symptoms of fatigue, inflammation, GI issues and tinnitus. This place is phenomenal, very professional, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and theyre taking extra precautions during the pandemic to keep everyone safe (both staff and patients)! I do neurofeedback with them and its made such a HUGE difference in my executive dysfunction, anxiety, and depression – better than anything Ive ever tried! The initial brain mapping was helpful and definitely accurate bc it echoed things I was already feeling. Its great bc the brain mapping gives you tangible data so you can measure and see your progress (as well as custom tailor your neurofeedback). The neurofeedback sessions are enjoyable and remind me of a video game.I have lots of allergies, and theyre so accommodating! Theyre great about staying on top of which products not to use for me bc Im allergic, and which products they CAN use to make sure everything is cleaned properly so there isnt a covid risk. I dont have to remind them which is a huge burden off my shoulders. They make me feel extremely safe!Ive also suffered from chronic migraines most of my life, and I didnt have anything that helps me consistently – I had all but given up bc nothing works. But theyre very knowledgeable and educated about health issues (more than some of my doctors), and they were able to figure out what the problem might be and come up with a solution! Their oxygen therapy helps me so much and they even accommodated me with a slightly different set-up bc I have other medical conditions that make it so I cant use traditional hyperbaric oxygen chambers.Everyone is also very kind and friendly. I cant recommend them highly enough! No matter what you need, theyll be able to figure it out and make you feel better! Even when the rest of the healthcare field leaves you feeling hopeless, they will be able to help!

This place is a gem. Such a more personable and real experience than other hyperbarics locations. This place is LUSH; plants everywhere. It has a cozy spa feel but so obviously has high clinical standards.Alex, the owner, is amazing and really listens to your personal issues. My partners foot was deteriorating from complications of an autoimmune condition but after starting hyperbarics their foot bounced back! Came here to get into a hyperbaric chamber for the first time. Alex made sure to go over everything with me before entering the chamber. She is very knowledgeable and is more than willing to answer any questions you have. She stays with you as you take your dive to make sure everything goes smoothly. She was not joking about how many times you will have to pop your ears as you start to go down. Once at the optimal pressure there is no more popping of the ears and youre free to sleep, read, play on your phone, basically pretty much anything. You are always connected to her even if she is not in the room by radios.Now let me tell you about the chamber.. it is pretty big,comfortable, and it even have changing color lights! I was on my phone for probably ten mins and then decided I would nap. It was so easy to fall asleep because Alex provides you with a comfy blanket and pillow. At the end of the session you are given vitamins, refreshing water, and a hot towel for your face. I felt extremely refreshed. That night I had one of the best sleeps of my life, and felt even better the next day. Ive had to study a ton for school, and the day after the chamber I felt way more focused while studying.I highly recommend coming here!

This is the ultimate form of self-care! My experience at HH was simply magical. Even though its an intense experience to be sitting in a sealed and pressurized tube for 90+ mins, the staff made me feel held and taken care of every step of the way. The space is luxurious, covered with plants and 11/10 decor. The main staff member I interacted with was super friendly and conversational - you can tell the staff is looked out for and VERY well trained. He clearly had a strong grasp of the inner-workings of the tank and all of its benefits, and answered all of my questions... and then some! This is a fun review to write because my opinion of this place started out quite skeptical and really turned around for the better as I got to know them over the summer of 2019. BACKGROUND: I have chronic Lyme, Bartonella and Babesia infections, diagnosed in 2004, and eventually started the Buhner herbal protocol. I got very sick and was unemployed and bedridden for a good portion of that time, and barely remember it. After a couple of years of that and some improvements but not as much progress as I had hoped, I switched doctors and tried prescription antibiotics alone for a few years, with testing every 3-4 months and switching up the exact drugs a couple times a year. I got much better, tested negative for Bartonella and then Babesia multiple times, but then as I got to the cyst-busting stage of the Lyme treatment, all hell broke loose and it all came back very aggressively. It was at this backsliding low point I become terrified and knew I needed something more. So, I decided to do everything I could simultaneously: 1) prescription antibiotics 2) herbal antibiotics 3) chiropractic and soft tissue bodywork, AND 3) hyperbaric oxygen. I found Holistic Hyperbarics as the nearest center, since I did some research and figured I would need a lot of sessions, the proximity was important. Unfortunately it was right in the middle of their move, so there was some confusion and I showed up at the old location, not happy. But I called Alex and she paid for my Uber and made it right. Im glad I stuck through that rocky start, because the HBOT started to bring benefits after just a few sessions.PERSONAL HBOT EXPERIENCE: I had had severe spasticity (unconscious muscle tension) along my left side for years, which affect my gait and ability to do many household chores with my hands, sometimes even typing. After my third HBOT session in 10 or so days, I felt something amazing - it started to relax. I excitedly wrote my doctor that it felt like I had released a silent scream and the mental and physical tension were dissappearing. She mentioned that this was likely due to a CNS/brain problem resolving with oxygen, and she started recommending HBOT to more of her patients. My chiropractor also immediately noticed the difference when he laid hands on my back, what did you do? You feel like a totally different person! He was surprised to see such improvement so rapidly. He spent an hour every week with me getting me to rebalance my gait and working out my many soft tissues adhesions. Little by little I got more range of movement and started to exercise again. I completed a course of 40 HBOT sessions, usually going 3-5 times per week, to 2.4 ATM for 75 minutes (after acclimation). I started sleeping better, and working more (consulting part-time) as my mind came back. My sense of humor and other quirky aspects of my personality also came back! I started doing long hikes in the Oakland hills, then my chiro cleared me to try running! I am 52 and thought my running days were over long ago, but soon I was doing 5-mile trail runs on steep and rocky terrain! (as I had in my 30s) Professionally, I have also been gaining momentum, with a new challenging full time job. So far, its going well. Its been about 6 months since I started HBOT, and 3 months since I stopped doing it intensively, and the changes have been largely durable. I still pop in one every week or two to stay tuned up and resolve the ever-changing aches and pains as I continue to progress with my antibiotics. Overall, my life now is very manageable. I finally had the opportunity to try Holistic Hyperbarics and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. Alex answered all my questions, from her history with hyperbaric oxygen therapy; to what my first experience would feel like; and about safety in the chamber and afterwards. From the beginning to the end of my time at Holistic Hyperbarics I felt well taken care of and supported. I spent my time in the chamber looking at Netflix and relaxing in a meditative state while enjoying the flow of energy within my body. It’s been about a week since my first experience and while I can’t say for certain my energy and clarity this week is attributed to my first experience with hyperbaric oxygen therapy I can’t rule out it out either. I am eager to try more sessions with Holistic Hyperbarics to deal with some inflammation in my knees and back. Brava Alex!

I started getting treated after having my daughter. I was 6 weeks post partum and I had gotten really bad mastitis. My mastitis was so bad that I ended up having to get my breast cut open and drained.I started treatments right afterwards and my breast specialist was so impressed with how quickly I healed. The amazing part was that I was afraid that the surgery would hurt my supply and was told it probably would. But because of my treatment with HH my milk supply did not suffer.On top of my amazing recovery, treatment also had some amazing side effects on my post partum body. It helped with my supply so much. After my treatments I would pump twice as much breastmilk than I was pumping before.I also had sever hemorrhoids from giving birth, to the point where surgery was being reccomended. But after 3 sessions with HH they were cleared up and I no longer needed to consider surgery. HH is amazing for new mothers. Not only does it help heal your post partum body faster, you also get to have an uninterrupted nap!

I had bounced from physical therapist to physical therapist but simply couldnt get my injury from a car accident fixed. I had scar tissue deep in many areas of my body. Hip, ankle, shoulder etc. Anytime I found a method of Physical therapy that did work, the bone would pop out of the joint or be unset because my entire body was packed with scar tissue. It felt like a small layer of foam was between many of the joints in my body. I read about hyperbarics from an author I was following in the software sphere, Tim Ferris. Hyperbarics is a new area of science and so I was unsure if it would work for my issue. I was planning on going in for 60 sessions for my specific ailment based on what I had read online. Alex actually insisted that I do 40 as this would be the minimal effective dose. Keep in mind she actually has a clear economic incentive to just tell me to do more and more sessions. She could have easily told me to do 80 sessions and many people would go through with it.To me, this is the most important sign that holistic hyperbarics is run from the standpoint of truly trying to help people and actually get to the root of the problem. Not to swindle people out of their money.I was really skeptical and the technology felt really intimidating. Alex and her assistant Brody both walk you through the whole process step by step. They also check in with you to ensure that you dont experience bad side effects. They are also genuinely interested in the progression of your ailment even after you are done working with them.Lastly, I encourage you guys to look up the other hyperbaric facilities in the area. For the most part, they all cost much more on a per session basis (at least double) and are significantly less structured in their entire process to take you in.I could not recommend Holistic Hyperbarics more. It truly is a breath of fresh air from our inefficient and greedy medical system!

This is great for rest and restoration. I tried it for the first time after a brutal work trip, and came out of the chamber feeling like Id just had a good night sleep. Ive been back a few times since then, and its made a big difference in helping me feel rested. As the parent of a toddler, theres somehow never enough sleep....Highly recommended either for yourself, or as a present for a parent in your life.

I really enjoyed my first experience here. I had been traveling, to Europe and Texas in subsequent weeks, and I have a very energetic 2-year old. Needless to say Im always a little behind on sleep, and the travel made it worse. My 1.5 hours in the tank left me feeling amazing, as if I had slept for 10 hours!!! Walking right in the door ms. Williams was extremely courteous and professional. She explained everything thoroughly and answered all of our questions. Ill admit I was a but nervous since this was my first time. But with a calm environment and reassurance i felt 100% safe and comfortable for our dive. I felt well accommodated and very comfortable in a warm and calming environment. The dive was itself was everything I had expected since it was throughly explained to me and, following instructions, the gum helped alot. I was so calm in fact, I ended up falling asleep! When it was time to come out it was a relatively quick process and there was even some flavored water and warm towels that felt so good after my dive. Since im an avid runner and had run 7 miles the previous day, i felt so refreshed I was ready for another 7! I would definitely recommend you try a chamber session for yourself especially if your work is labor intensive or athletes in general. Discover it for yourself!

After being gaslit by doctors for half a year, and being told there was nothing that can be done for my long-haul covid, getting treatment at Holistic Hyperbarics has singlehandedly provided me relief more than any other treatment I’m currently doing. Can’t rave about this place enough. Alex took the time to ask a lot of questions about my condition, and made me feel very comfortable.Happy to say my heart rate has dropped into the 70s for the first time since March, and my neurological symptoms have pretty much disappeared.
