This is a very nice hotel if you’re staying in Porterville. The room was nice and the air conditioning worked great. They have a very nice hot Continental breakfast. There is no restaurant, but there are plenty of places around the location to go have a bite. The check in area does have a refrigerated area where they have ice cream, noshes and bottled water you can purchase.

I had a great simple experience here. Got a room last minute on Christmas Eve. The room was clean, really big & quiet. Breakfast the next day could have been better but it did the trick.Recommendation: Breakfast Attendant should be greeting guests as they enter & have food full until its actually over. I had all the food I needed but I heard her tell another family that she ran out of food while Breakfast hours were still happening.Parking lot was safe & clean.

I have been a member of HIX for over 20 years. I choose HIX for all of our reservations. I have to say the hotel in Porterville, CA has absolutely the worst service that Ive ever encountered. Not enough bath clothes, not enough pillars. Ask the front deck for them, that said come get them. So we went to front desk to be told there are none available! What?? Hotel without pillows?? Would not recommend this one!

I booked this place for one night to attend a wedding that was nearby. I didnt expect much but service and hospitality were top notch and the stay was great. All the staff were friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and comfy. The breakfast was standard, but I enjoyed the variety. I would even say there were more breakfast options compared to other/more expensive hotels that Ive stayed at. We forgot an item in our room when we left and they shipped it back to us within a week. If I were to ever stay around Porterville again I would book this place in a heartbeat.

DO NOT STAY!! They charge you an extra $250 for “cleaning” and when you ask about it they talk you in circles and refuse to refund your money. Our charge was for “the smell” because my 1 year old niece got sick with diarrhea and we had no choice but to throw the diapers in the trash cans and they are now saying the room has to be “deep cleaned” when all they had to do was empty the trash cans. I will never stay there again EVER. I would rather stay in a motel 6 than deal with their management.

I had a restful stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Porterville, CA. My room was clean and fresh, with a comfy bed and several feather down pillows. The staff was welcoming and professional. The hotel offers lots of great options for breakfast. I will stay here again the next time I’m in town.

The room was very large and clean. The location was perfect for our needs and our room was around the corner from the elevator. Everyone was really nice. Just a couple small issues. The bathroom door had automatic closing so it was impossible to keep it open. The nightlight in the bathroom is a joke. Basically nonexistent. Be careful with the shower. The water easily sprays out of the shower onto the floor. Breakfast was good.

We came into town mid May for a quick overnight stay. Since we were staying in Porterville, I did not have high expectations.To our pleasant surprise, the hotel was very CLEAN, the rooms & bathroom were large and the breakfast was warm and filling. Management was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is locaynext to a busy street. Room are nice. They are not in compliance with hotel standards I went to Burger King nearby. The eggs look fake and it seems the recycle sausages daily, the pancake machine is out of order. Oatmeal is package processed. The hotel lobby limits TV to two channels. when asked, they say its Holiday Inn spec. Thats funny.A weather channel is needed by most travelers.I used my white noise machine to minimize street racing noise. This is however the only brand hotel in the area.

Great location. Easy access. Ample parking. Staff was friendly and efficient. Hot breakfast served daily. Housekeeping came every day; however, we had no soap at bathroom sink and had to use soap in shower to wash our hands which was inconvenient. Rooms were a bit outdated and in dire need of refresh. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

If you have any noise sensitivity, Warning; this hotel is next to a Walmart Distribution Center. There is unending equipment noise all night long. Im in Porterville often for work. Im staying at an RV park from now on.

Have not stayed here but have family that live nearby and we are shocked by the appearance of the landscaping since it has always looked so clean and well kept. It appears you are letting the beautiful California palms die that signify California living so close to the Sequoia National Forest that is lush and green with rivers and ponds and close to the lake. It seems that you want it to appear we are a dessert town but we lush with water only minutes away.

Nice place to stay in Porterville. Hotel was very nice and clean, staff was great, and rooms were nice. The only issue was the wake-up call at 12am from the loud group of people celebrating something. Noise is an issue at this hotel. Rooms are not that quiet. If you’re a light sleeper I would recommend a room with an odd number. Those rooms are on the opposite side of the main road and are probably a lot quieter. Gym was basic, 2 treadmills, an elliptical and some free weights. The continental breakfast was really nice and clean. The lady that was taking care of it did a great job. Besides not getting much sleep due to the after party, it was a nice hotel.

1 star review for a 1 star experience.We were all asleep until an unexpected call from the front desk at about 10:53 pm. They were calling about a customer complaint over a constant thumping noise. I told the front desk that I didnt appreciated getting woken up in the middle of the night as they dialed the wrong room.Difficult to fall back asleep after that unwanted and unprovoked call in the middle of the night. Thumping noise from nearby room continued passed midnight.PSTwo phones in the room ringing simultaneously is perty darn loud.

We stayed about 2 weeks ago and everything was amazing. Room and hotel was clean, staff was excellent and the complimentary breakfast was good. JEN at the front desk was kind, professional and made sure all our needs were met. I’m moving up to Porterville soon with my son and will be staying there again. The service is disgusting, the worst experience I’ve ever had. I arrived after 12am and the guy told me the breakfast is until 10:30am.Next day I came to the breakfast at 9:33am and another lady, Jen, who told me she was a genera manager, told me that the breakfast had been closed at 9:30am, just 3 minutes before a came.While there weee some bagels, bananas, and cereal in the breakfast area, Jen closed the doors in front of my face and refused to give me any.She said she was a manager and refused to give me any food because I arrived 3 minutes after closing.If you want to enjoy such a treatment from the staff, please stay at this hotel.There is no excuse possible after such a treatment, whatever the management could write under this post in the comment.Just stay away from this place.

My sister and I stayed here December 27th to the 29th, 2022. On our first night we encountered two problems. 1. The television did not work. Jen Bryant, from the front office, came up. She resolved it. 2. Few hours later, we discovered the sink was not draining after using in the bathroom. Called Jen again and she offered to relocate us. But we were too settled in. So she requested the plumber to come. We want to compliment Jen for her excellent assistance. She’s an asset to the company and a wonderful person. Will be staying here when we return this year!

The employees were so kind, we left a pair of air pod pro there during our stay while vacationing in CA, the staff immediately called us to inform us after they discovered it and they were willing to mail it out to our home address since we were already driving an hour out of Porterville! Rooms are not welcoming, and service was dismal. Asked for a chair to eat in the room, in a room for three people, when only one chair was provided for the room. I was told they werent allowed to put extra furniture in the room - A room that was clearly cleared out of its original table and chairs. The photo here of the bathroom towels is how we found them after the room had been cleaned.

The room needs an update, but isnt by any means in bad shape. Just a touch dated with decor. The poor office chair was shot. It creaked and was tilted forward. The tub spout was coming away from the shower enclosure a little bit. Its a good thing they are getting ready to renovate. The breakfast was great. Loved their pancake machine. Was a fun gadget.

It was a bit noisy towards the rear of the hotel due to the semi trucks leaving the distribution center across the street. But was manageable.

I’m a spire elite member and tried to check in early since I am working 3pm-3am that day and wanted to get a nap in. The weekend manager was rude and not accommodating. She said the earliest check in was at 3pm because of a chemical they use to clean which is bs because all holiday inn use the same chemicals mandated by the company. I called the Tulare holiday inn and was able to get me in at noon with a full house the night before. This Porterville hotel needs to learn how to better treat their guest especially those that are traveling for work and spire elite members who has been loyal to the hotel brand.

I found it to be very relaxing and clean! I remember staying next door at the other place several times I saw this one being built--its totally brand new--couldnt wait to stay here. Awesome breakfast too!!! OMG. Really nice staff and breakfast ladies. Was very enjoyable, although not the town itself so much. Prices very affordable and they match their competitor next door, no problem! Discounts for return members. I doubt Ill go back to the other hotel, unless this one is totally booked. I think youll enjoy your stay here. :)

Reasonably priced, room was clean, staff were friendly and knowledgeable about Sequoia National Park, breakfast was good (esp considering it was included). Only complaints are that the nearby traffic was loud at times & the flood lights shining on the building may have looked nice but shined right into our room and was super bright all night long.

The Good: Much better than the previous HIE&S I stayed at as far as the room was concerned. It was pitch black at night which is always appreciated. It was also quiet and it was clean. The hotel itself was also clean and modern. The staff, when I saw them was always friendly and professional. The location is good, but not great. Located right off the freeway, but no good restaurants within walking distance. The Bad: As just mentioned, there werent very many restaurants nearby and none within walking distance. The staff was largely absent the couple times I came down to the lobby around dinner time. Although they were there for check-ins and check-outs. The breakfast was standard fare, but was lacking a waffle maker, which I thought was odd. The Ugly: The AC unit was very loud, which I typically dont mind as it is a source of white noise; however, it also didnt function as well as it should. I think the temperature setting was more of a suggestion than a setting, and there was no way to turn off the fan and have it run only when needed. Having it run constantly tends to dry out the room and me, so I like for it to kick off when not heating or cooling. That said, I would likely stay here again as there are few options in the area and I think the pros outweigh the cons.

Had a great experience over the weekend of 10/13/2014. The grounds and rooms are in very good condition. Very clean and neat. I was surprised when I learned the hotel was 5 years old as I originally thought it was newer. Also, the staff was very friendly and attentive to my needs. I would have given the 5 stars if it had an ocean view, but we all know the ocean is about a hundred miles west of Porterville... Will stop by again in the coming months!P.s. The person who wrote the negative review probably works across the street at Best Western. Holiday Inn is much better!!!

The appearance of the hotel was great. It appeared clean and presentable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, we were not aware of construction that was underway on the floor above ours. The construction began with the sun and 7am. We woke to drilling cutting and pounding. After a rough night of tossing and turning in the hardest hotel bed Ive ever slept in. Because we chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express we assumed the beds would at least be comfortable. I beleive a discount should be offered for anyone who chooses to stay in a hotel that is underconstruction or at least give them the option of choosing a different hotel since yours is not 100%.Also, I hope the matressres are on list to renovate. Not that our reason for visiting has anything to do with our disappointment but it added to our stress and emotion of losing a loved one. Hope this review helps someone.

Although the walls are very thin, had a very loud neighbor and could hear every noise and word coming from their room around 4 AM.The front desk girl was very stand off-Ish and rude. I spent one night at this property. This review is comparing this hotel against like quality/brands. Check-in was painless, with a friendly front desk clerk. The king room was clean, with a refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker. The furniture was in good repair and the HVAC system worked well. WiFi was acceptable, and I did not use the fitness room. Breakfast was standard HIE fare. Several fast food restaurants/gas stations within walking distance. There are good running roads south of the hotel.
