The service was amazing. Alyssa welcomed us with a smile and enthusiasm. We got excellent recommendations for sightseeing and wine tasting.Room was clean and modern with all the possible hookups for phones and other electronics.Breakfast was perfect with a lot of hot and cold choices. The lady in charge of the breakfast was kind and making sure everything was up to our expectations.The pool and Jacuzzi were clean and well kept.Would definitely go back!

We had a remarkable stay at this hotel. The reception personnel is well trained and very helpful. Nathan took care of our group. The rooms are modern and impressively clean. Nice pool and gym. Laundry room has two washers and two dryers. You need quarters to operate them. Front desk will change your bills to quarters, if needed. Breakfast has a very good variety.We were happy with our choice of this hotel.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this stay was. We were there due to a family emergency. We then had to extend our stay due to an atmospheric river that had caused extensive flooding in the area as well as road closures.First, the staff was so kind. Really, everyone we dealt with over the three days was just amazing.Second, our room was perfect. Very nice and comfortable. Extra pillows in the drawer.Third, the breakfast was very good and kept the kids happy. The coffee was hot and available anytime I needed it.Fourth, the guest laundry facilities were clean, in good repair, and were easy to use.The refrigerator and microwave in the room made it easier to keep juice and a snacks at the ready for the kids. (2 under 5yrs old)When the storm hit and we realized we couldnt leave yet, the staff was very welcoming and extended our reservation, no trouble at all.I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area. Quite frankly, because of this stay, I will be looking to Holiday Inn Express as my preferred hotel for future travels.

Nate was amazing! He greeted me by name every time I saw him, and always had a smile on his face! The rooms were pretty good, and Atascadero is beautiful, although not by the 101. 4 stars because the card scanners are horrible.

Well, its very nice hotel. Mattresses are too soft. Be careful you may fall off! LOL. Very comfy.We really like this place. This was our second stay here. Nice small but good breakfast buffet.What tops it all, are the staff. They are amazing. Everyone.Ethan, great guy. Very hospitable, polite and a profissional. Alyssa was so personable and efficient while getting our entire group of 6+ rooms checked in. She also went above and beyond to assist with a special request before arrival. Rooms were clean with refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee machine. Lady monitoring the breakfast area was very friendly and attentive.

After our event at Sensorio in Paso Robles got canceled due to a storm, we decided to stay at this location. Not only was the front desk clerk Nathan very friendly, but he even provided us with local information on great restaurants to check out as well as other places we might want to check out during our day. The room was so clean and comfortable. We were placed away from the freeway so that helped with getting a great night’s sleep. Having a refrigerator and microwave made it easy for us to have items in hand so as not to go out in the storm. We will definitely stay here again should we be in the area! Thanks Nathan!

Nathan at the front desk was phenomenal when presented with my co-worker’s and I complicated work trip/room/payment issues. (On our end). Not only did he quickly resolve them but did so with the most pleasant reception I’ve ever received at a hotel. OMG, you feel like a spoiled rich kid in this beautiful hotel. The brooms had like 15-ft ceilings, there was so much room to move around, including the bathroom was beautifully done. They do book up quickly due to the area in San Luis Obispo because of all the different activities you can do and all the beautiful scenery. The rooms are very soundproof so we had a beautiful quiet night and felt very safe throughout our stay.We did have to stay our first night at a motel 6 which had sticky floors, unfinished parts of the room that gives you the instant ick.

Nice hotel, and front desk guys were all super nice, remembered me by name. But the location right by the freeway means its pretty noisy with cars. Gym is also tiny, only three cardio machines. Beds were comfortable, walls thin though, could hear footsteps and neighbors all the time

My wife & I live coming out to the coast, and this is a great spot. We had an unfortunate circumstance, where I had to adjust my reservation, and Vince took the time to work with myself and the Diamond Elite IGH operation to rectify the situation.I stay in IHG hotels 3-4 nights per week for work, and the service that Vince provided is one of the reasons I stay at IHG locations. The room was clean and fully stocked. We had a joint room that we shared with family. Was nice getting to go from room to room with the door inside. Made it safer for the kids so they werent running through the halls. The pool was a good size. We swam every day we were there. Fully stocked with pool towels. The staff was on top of it all! Breakfast was great each morning. We will be coming back again soon!

I spent one night at this Holiday Inn Express and had the best sleep in weeks. The bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it with me! The updated rooms were nice, clean, and modern looking. The bed sheets were super soft and comfy. The hot breakfast was good and everything tasted fresh. I would definitely recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone.

Nice hotel for mid-level accommodations. The rooms have high ceilings that give a spacious feel and help the room stay temperate. The staff was top notch and very kind and friendly. The breakfast is what you would expect, and the serving area was bright and clean. Worth a stay!

Looks like the rooms had been recently updated. More than enough desk area & space. Nice, friendly & awesome front desk team Nate, Casey & Damian were super helpful and had made my check-in & check-out a breeze. I appreciate Nate accommodating my room reservation requests and also ensuring that I am able to stay in the same room when I arrived a day early needing a room prior to my initial reservation. Kudos to the cleaning staff, my room was spotless clean. Breakfast staff were also great and friendly! The food are as what I expected similar to other Holiday Inn Express that I go to. I do like that they have a regular sausage and a Turkey sausage option. There are some covered parking spaces and the parking lot is well lit. This location was easy to find and accessible from the freeway.

Absolutely loved this hotel. It was so clean and the staff was soo friendly. Nathan at the front desk went above and beyond for us. Would definitely stay here again. Comfortable beds, nice clean rooms. Only complaint would be the free breakfast buffet was not so great. It was very crowded and the food was cold. Food trays were either empty or we grabbed the last one of everything (and it tasted like the last one, cold and soggy) But it was free and it fueled us for the morning, so cant really complain.

Great Holiday Inn Express! My family was comfy, room and bathroom were clean and well-appointed. The breakfast was a bit of a struggle as we appeared to arrive at the same time as everyone else. The staff was rushing to keep the platters full, but everyone got enough to eat and drink so it worked out. We went to Hearst Castle the next day, and the 45 minute drive in the morning was gorgeous! Perfect place to stay if youre visiting the castle.

The room was lovely. The bed was comfortable, there was a nice seating section in the room with a couch (sleepable), coffee table, and a small dining table with 2 chairs. The design of the room was quite clever. There were also 2 TVs in the room, presumably so that you could comfortably watch from either the seating area or the bed. We had a very comfortable stay. A full breakfast is included with a number of choices, mostly of the pre-made and frozen or from boxed mixes variety. I could wish they had an attached diner, but thats about the only thing they didnt have. An array of daily newspapers and local guides are available near the dining area.

I LOVE this holiday inn location. The staff are the nicest people I have met, the breakfast is wonderful with many options, and the hotel itself is brand new looking and immaculately clean. 100/10!!! Update:The staff and manager reached out to me and apologized on behalf of those guests and made appropriate steps to keep those other guests from returning AND went above and beyond to redeem themselves and restore our relationship with Holiday Inn. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Vince (manager) for being so kind and understanding and helpful.Previous post:My family and sister’s family stayed at this hotel for several nights for a wedding in the area. The night before we left there was a MASSIVE party going on in the room next tous (July 10th and we were rooms 227 and 228). There was over 15 people in the room and they were extremely loud the ENTIRE night. Not just like a little after curfew (10pm) but non stop. We called the front desk around midnight asking them to tell them to be quiet and the front desk did nothing. This group was drinking and cussing (some of them looked underaged too) and they did this in front of our 7 and 5 year old while we were leaving at 5am the next morning. We did not sleep that whole night and they continued their partying the entire night and even after we left at 5 in the morning. I went downstairs and told the front desk and again they did nothing. Not only is this reason enough for their one star review we also had issues with their key cards. All of our cards continued to deactivate and yes we kept them away from electronics so that wouldn’t be an issue. They deactivated when we arrived in the evening and also in the afternoon after swimming so we had to walk all the way around the hotel in our swimsuits to get it fixed. On top of this their breakfast was consistently depleted by 8am each morning. Their breakfast hours say until 9:30 but nothing was left by 8am for us and our kids to eat. No milk, cereal, bagels, pancakes, or even creamer for coffee. Our tv was also broken when we arrived but they did fix it while we were there so I’ll give them that. Also we were not able to digitally check in or check out which isn’t a big deal but don’t offer it if it isn’t going to work.

Also had to leave early because of a hurricane warning & wouldn’t refund our last night when we could not stay due to conditions out of our control.Gave 2 stars instead of one because the guy at the front desk was friendly (not the manager)Edit to add in response to guest services reply: we were not offered to switch rooms, were told someone would come to treat the bugs, then came back that evening & there were more bugs. Also, the third party called the hotel to try to work with you guys to get a refund on the last night that we weren’t able to stay for, but still wouldn’t.

TV is spectrum but remotes are frustrating to use. Has small pool and spa. Has nice little gym with cardio and weights. Rooms are pricey but likely inflated due to proximity to vineyards and coast.

I was only here for a one-night stay since my air B&B wasnt ready but to be honest I would have been fine staying here all week! I am here for a dog training seminar and the hotel was the host hotel. I arrived after a 5.5-hour drive and was happy to hear my room was as requested, first floor and near an exit. Traveling with a dog I needed to be able to get a crate in my room I was so glad they made that happen for me. You dont know struggle til you try to get a dog crate for a large dog up an elevator and into a room. The location is conveniently located near dining that offered outdoor seating so I could take my dog with me. The hotel grounds were clean and the room was also clean. I am a woman traveling alone and felt safe as well

We are return guests. We received less than welcoming service upon checking in THIS time (thanks to NATHAN). Completely unimpressed by NATHAN. He was rude and made us feel quite unimportant; unlike EVERYONE ELSE. EVERYONE ELSE was kind and courteous and accommodating. Now, enough about NATHAN. This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The only negative besides NATHANS original attitude was the fact that the pools heater was broken and the uniformed staff about the matter. Rooms are a great size and its only 20 minutes from Pismo. Kitchen crew was on it... They clearly understand the assignment of hospitality. We will be coming again! We hope NATHAN has been better trained by then.

Nathan was really great and very hospitable as well as the front desk. They were friendly and helpful.However, the hotel itself was very understaffed and the rooms were neglected as a result. It was very dirty; we wiped down areas and they werent even cleaned. It was dirty and lacking items. The facility was missing items.This is probably because the company doesnt pay workers enough so there arent enough workers. This is not the fault of the staff but the company. Pay your workers--you cant make a living without them.

Highly recommend. Location is conveniently off the freeway but didnt get any road noise in our room. Rooms were clean beds comfortable, had refrigerator and microwave in the room which was very nice touch. AC worked well and kept room cool. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful morning breakfast is nothing super spectacular but had decent selection of nice quality foods. Pool is not big but nice for a relaxing dip and very comfortably heated. Spa was nice and hot not the luck warm some hotel spas are. I would absolutely stay there again and not hesitate to recommend.

Easy check in, front desk staff was very welcoming. Do to covid19 Housekeeping was not done daily, it was weekly. That being said all we had to do is ask and they took care of it. The housekeepers were friendly and quick. The gym and laundry room were very well taken care of. The pool needed some treatment but I believe it had something with the pool partys and triple digit temperatures.

It was clean and the staff were pleasant. The free breakfast was actually the best free breakfast Ive ever had at a hotel. Loud mini fridge. Turned the AC up to drown out the noise and everything was fine. Also the floor/ceiling is extremely thin. My 30 lb three year old made enough noise when walking that the guests below us called and complained. We made our kids tip toe out of respect for the guests below us but it was a bit ridiculous considering that it was only 6pm and nothing crazy was going on.

This is an excellent hotel. Although the physical building itself is apparently quite old (looks like mid-sixties style), the upkeep and maintenance seem excellent. Clean, bright room with the usual amenities one expects. The common areas were spotless, and the breakfast was on par with most hotels in this price point. The staff was friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out.Ingress and egress are easy with ample free parking. There is easy access to the 101 highway. And, in my opinion, the age of the building with thick walls, etc add insulation value from the noise of the adjacent roadway.Guests receive ten percent off at the adjacent restaurant, which I recommend.Overall I would stay here again if I were to find myself in this area. I highly recommend.

Ok experience, August 2021. Check-in was smooth and pleasant. Room was as promised, though the pillows were bad. Pool area was clean and pool was warm, deepest is 4ft so its great for kids.Common areas were a problem though. The indoor floors especially near the pool were filthy. The breakfast was crushed with dozens of people trying to eat at 9am on a Sunday with just one very hard working staffer completely overwhelmed - coffee was gone, no food left, etc. COVID-required masking rules were not enforced for guests. Not an exemplary way to run a hotels common areas during COVID.

This was a nice quiet place to spend the 4th of July. The staff was really nice and the rooms stayed nice while it was over 95 degrees outside. Comfortable rooms with lots of extra pillows and a fridge and microwave. A short drive to the beach and our dogs had a blast and slept soundly. It was nice to get away from the explosions for a weekend.

Our room was a handicap accessible which is fine even though we didn’t need it, except for the shower which was mainly setup for use by hand and the tallest holder point it at your stomach. They had a delicious free breakfast bar with eggs, potatoes, pancakes, waffles, ceareal, muffins, cinnamon rolls, coffees, juices, and more.The pool and spa are heated and open year round and they have a nice little gym with all the basics for both cardio and strength training.Only downside was that they say they accept pets and service animals. What they mean is dogs only.Luckily the woman who checked us in was a cat lover. We left a $300 cash deposit on the room. And she did an inspection upon check out.Our room was,One of the cleanest Ive ever seen. Even without pets.The only downside was we couldnt get internet the whole time we were there. And the I.T. woman kept saying it was my tablet. Id been using it just fine at other hotels. And a friends home Wi-Fi too.

This hotel is obviously well known... so my review is about a certain employee Candance, that I want to make sure she gets recognition & make sure her employer knows how lucky they are to have her!This weekend a family emergency occurred and we needed a place to stay at 2am...almost an impossible mission.We called more than 10 hotels within morro bay with no luck and came across here the holiday inn at Atascadero. From the moment she answered she was polite and eager to help! She didn’t make me feel like I was a burden like all the other hotels did considering it was 2am, I told her how desperate my family and I were to find a place to stay for the night and she looked at every resource she had to make sure my family had a place to stay and not only that but made sure we were all comfortable too.. & again remember this was at 2am... when all other hotels that I previously called made me feel like a bother and I felt like they really didn’t even check if there was availability, I felt like they were just trying to turn me away.Candance made sure our room was ready and supplied us with extra blankets, pillows, and towels. If I decide to stay at a hotel during travel in the states i typically go with Holiday Inn as one of my goto choices. This time was not a great stay for the first time at this location. Stayed here as a last resort during a crazy busy booked weekend for three different events going on. Computers were down so they had to go manual bookings. After signing everything in person and basically making a contract on the price, the next day when their computers were working again they up-charged for things they did not disclose when i first signed their documents. They even tried to be fair according to them and split the difference but in the end that would still cost me more. I had to stop payment with my credit card company and provide documentation proving my side. They should be retrained in order to know exactly how to file a proper check-in and know what they need to include for all their future bookings. Each Holiday Inn is privately owned and unfortunately i would not stay at this location again.On a positive note to end the place is clean and quiet.

For these events, we booked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Atascadero about a month in advance. We asked for two nights with adjoining rooms for extended family. Two weeks before the events took place, we had to change the booking. Ashley handled all the booking and changes and I was amazed to find that even with the booking change and a hotel filled with wedding guests, we STILL received adjoining rooms on the second night AND a crib for our 16 month-old granddaughter. Nikki handled the logistics for all the wedding guests, including the distribution of goody bags that were left for the guests compliments of the bride and groom. She also facilitated an early check-in for our extended family so that they would be ready for the wedding on time. I have traveled the world and I have never met a friendlier, more proficient staff. Everyone enjoyed a delicious breakfast together in the dining room before travelling back home. The experience was wonderful. Thank you!

Atascadero is close enough to Morro Bay, Cambria, Hearst Castle and other tourist areas to do as day trips but much cheaper to stay. Nicole was so professional and friendly. She is helpful and a valuable employee. Any call to guest services is answered with knowledge and respect. The rooms are basically sound proof so a good nights sleep is certain. Toothpaste, toothbrushes, coffee, tea, creamer, toilet paper, trash bags, etc. are all quickly provided when needed. The wifi is very fast. The location is near a good restaurant with nice wait staff called Marstons 101. Jack in the Box is also near for a cheaper option. Sadly, my familys stay here had to end but I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a positive hotel experience. Atascadero needs more places with staff this amazing.

We booked a room here as soon as we found out where to for a wedding in the area. Using the Book now to save or Annual Sale rate, it came to $223/night. When we found out the wedding party had a house rented, we tried cancelling the reservation, only to find out it was a non-refundable rate. We tried to transfer it to someone who could use it only to find out that it was closer to $120/night from anywhere else, or $154 from the hotel. So the advertised Annual Sale or Book Now and Save rate can be much higher than any other site, and even if given ample time to cancel the reservation and re-book with another guest, were out $515 for a weekend we cant use. Weve called to ask about this and have been told wed get call backs in 24-48 hrs from management twice now with no response. Looks like we wont be dealing with Holiday Inn Express anymore. Shame on us for trusting the earlier we booked, the better the rate.Update:Our credit was held and able to be applied to a future stay, which we just used. While not ideal, its as much as could be expected for the situation, so we appreciated that. The staff was all very friendly and helpful and breakfast was nice. Our room was ok, but seemed a bit lacking considering the price, the bed especially. It was a bit stiff and uncomfortable. The rates seem high for the quality of the hotel, but maybe thats just Central coast pricing that we arent used to. We would still love to visit if rates are reasonable for the next visit.

Not A Covid Safe Environment. I was there in my stay and saw many things that were not up to the covid standards for keeping guests safe and assuring they are keeping extra measures in place like their other locations. I called both corporate and the management at this location and both confirmed that they did not have the staff to keep up with housekeeping. This to me is a big red flag, especially since the area has been increasing with the rise in virus infections again even with those that are vaccinated as the delta hits Los Angeles and Southern California. When the General Manager Corine was questioned about the lacking practices, as such for example the taped door handles to proof the rooms, she said they didnt need them they used cards they leave in the room. There were several other red flags regarding the environment and the covid treatment and considering that hotels are made for travelers from all over, this should for sure be top priority. I am taking action. They should have just refunded me but now they have made it so that I will get the word out as much as possible since they would not accommodate

I CHECKED IN AND WITHIN THE HOUR CHECKED OUT BECAUSE THE TEMPURATURE WAS 107 AND I WAS VERY DIZZY, NAUSEATED AND HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING. IT WAS 65 DEGREES FROM THE COAST 10 MILES AWAY TO 107, A 42 DEGREE INCREASE AND WAS VERY HARSH TO THE SYSTEM TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS. IT WAS A COMPLETE HEALTH HAZARD AND ISSUE FOR ME. THEY SAID THERE WAS A HEAT ADVISORY IN THE AREA, HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT PUT ANYTHING OF THE SORT INTO THE TERMS OF RESERVATION AND BOOKING, AND WOULD NOT REFUND ME. IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY, I DROVE 4 1/2 HOURS TO CELEBRATE, AND COULD NOT STAY, HAD TO TURN BACK AND DRIVE LATE IN THE DAY ANOTHER 4 1/2 HOURS HOME. THEY COULD NOT EVEN MAKE AN EXCEPTION DESPITE CORPORATE TELLING ME THEY WOULD ISSUE ME A REFUND OUT OF GOODWILL. INSTEAD OF A REFUND THIS HOTEL HAD THE FINAL SAY AND PUSHED THROUGH OVER $300 FOR ONE NIGHT I NEVER STAYED. THE NORMAL RATES ARE LESS THAN HALF THIS PRICE. PRICE GAUGING FOR SURE. YOUR VERY FAR FROM THE OCEAN AND COASTAL SCENIC TOURIST SPOTS WHICH ARE A COMPLETE DUMP AND OVERRATED AND DATED BY ABOUT 30 YEARS AGO WHEN IT WAS GOOD AND THE PLACES TO GO SEE. FORGET THE MADONNA INN, IT LOOKS HAUNTED AND LIKE YOU WILL CATCH A STD, AS WELL AS HEARST CASTLE, AND SOLVANG IS JUST SHOPS FULL OF CHEAP JUNK FROM CHINA. THIS HOTEL HAS NOTHING GOING FOR IT. WAS TOLD HOUSEKEEPING WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO CLEAN YOUR ROOM DURING YOUR STAY AND THE CLEANLINESS ON SHORT STAFF LEAVES QUESTION SURROUNDING CLEANLINESS, WHILE STILL IN THE COVID STAGES HERE FOR SURE NOTHING LIKE THE OTHER MORE STERILE HOLIDAY INNS IN PROXIMITY LIKE CARPENTERIA (SANTA BARBARA AREA) WORTH THE 45 MINUTE DRIVE WHICH I HAVE STAYED MANY TIMES. I WAS TOLD THE MANAGER CORINA WOULD CONTACT ME WITHIN 48 HRS AND AFTER 6 DAYS AND MANY ATTEMPTS TO REACH HER FOR THE REFUND, SHE COMPLETELY BLEW IT OFF AND PUSHED THE CHARGE. THE PERSON WHO CHECKED ME IN WAS RUDE AS WELL NAMED NATHAN, HE WAS TOO BUSY. RUDE TO OTHER GUESTS WHILE I WAITED, SEEMED STRESSED AND OVERWORKED AND UNDERSTAFFED AND HAD TAKEN HIS TIME TO DELAY MY ABILITY TO REVERSE THE CHECKOUT AND IN TURN MADE IT DIFFICULT TO GET THE INFORMATION CORRECT AS TO WHAT TOOK PLACE TO HIS MANAGER, THE ONE WHO NEVER REACHED OUT AND WAS SUPPOSED TO PER CORPORATE. AND FROM CORPORATE, THEY LET THE HOTEL HAVE THE FINAL SAY, USUALLY ITS CORPORATE THAT HAS THE FINAL SAY OVER THE HOTEL, SO APPARENTLY THE HOTEL CAN DICTATE OVER CORPORATE. I AM ALSO A IHG GOLD MEMBER AND HAVE NEVER EVER EVER HAD SUCH POOR SERVICE AN ANY OF MY RESERVATIONS. THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO REFUNDING A NON-REFUNDABLE, ESPECIALLY UNDER THE LAWS OF HOTEL STANDARDS AND CODES WHICH THIS FALLS UNDER, HOWEVER THE MANAGEMENT DECLINED TO MAKE THAT EXCEPTION.
