Our realtor introduced us to Scott, who was kind enough to walk us through the loan mortgage process, educating us as first-time home buyers.Every time we made an offer, he made it a point to call the listing agent to strengthen our position as prospective buyers.Scott played a major role in our offer being accepted. The listing agent informed us that Scott made the best case by assuring that the loan approval would be closed by his team in a timely manner.Scott and Lisa were very thorough during the loan approval process. They made it look like a walk in the park. I have been a Realtor for 17 years now and I have not experienced this type of great experience, the most thoughtful and thorough process, from a loan officer.On 10/12/23, Lisa, Scott and I helped a buyer with the purchase of their home. Lisa and Scott provided updates of the buyers loan process every step of the way during this transaction to include when the appraisal was ordered, who will be the contact person, the value of the appraisal report, when buyers will be signing, when the loan will be funded and what it means, and what to expect before closing, to include how much funds to bring/wire to title.Lisa and Scott laterally gave my buyer and I a play by play account of this transaction and provided me with so much security and confidence during the entire process, that no matter how difficult the transaction maybe at times, we were going to find ways to close this transaction successfully together. We are officially home owners!!!On our first try in 2021, we worked with Scott and Lisa to get a loan. Since Im self-employed, and a pandemic just happened, I didnt have the right finances to contribute to my fiancees. Fast forward to 2022, I reached back out to Scott because he was always honest and straight-forward with us. We tried an FHA loan with a multi-family and Scott and Lisa helped us put together an amazing deal, and worked closely with our realtors. We learned of all the documents we needed to gather (which was the most difficult part) and they instructed us and held our hand throughout the process (which we wanted and needed). You cant ask for more simplified lending process than what Hill Mortgage team (Scott & Lisa) offers.One of our friend referred Scott for our lending requirements when we were really struggling with conventional banks. Conventional Banks doesnt give you any clarity on the lending process. We just kept submitting tons of documents just to get the disappointment towards the end of the process. Scott and Lisa kept us informed about every step, provided us complete transparency on how each of our document will be used and made the process super easy. My fiancé Justin and I went into the house buying process with no idea what we were doing. We reached out to Scott and he instantly got back to us and set up a call. He spoke to both of us and walked through every single step in a way we both could understand and was not intimidating. They provided education and services for a full year before it came time to follow-through with our first home purchase. They have since gone about doing that purchase, then we used them to purchase our step-up single family home, two years after we purchased our condo. We JUST finished refinancing our home loan with Scott and Lisa and everything went smoothly. You want people on your team who will do whatever it takes to get you across the line. I was about to buy a house and got to know Scott and Lisa through a referral. After talking with a few mortgage brokers, Scott and Lisa are the best I can think of. They are very friendly, very responsive, most importantly, very responsible and knowledgeable. Scott is very good at making videos (feels like back to school time, professors’ online courses), I got to learn a lot about and became more prepared and confident. We have bought our home back in May 18 with the Hill Team. It was originally a bit difficult, given we had only 2 years history in the country, we needed to get gift funds in, etc. but Hill Team made it easy. I am very happy that I followed the advice about working with a local, reputable mortgage team.Now, in only 9-10 months, we were able to refinance with Hill team to take advantage of year-low rates. We got rid of the PMI (which was significant) and cut additionally 10% off the principal+interest. And it was as easy as it can get, again. And we were able to work with a funding company with a better reputation which was the icing on the cake.Maybe I might have been able to shave a few bucks more off my bill (maybe not) by shopping around, but I didnt even think about it, plus most of the time it is not worth the time spent.
