With the expertise of Chris and his legal assistant Tara, we were able to accomplish and complete the process of a difficult divorce. Both they and I remained positive so that there would be no negative side on the outcome. My partner and I are still friends and we understand the situation. With the guard rails up (the explanations of what the process is and how it works) and the honesty and expectations that were delivered to me, by Chris and staff, I think we have successfully completed another chapter in my life. Chris and his staff are professional, smart, savvy, and also understanding to the time constraints that sometimes pop up. I really feel that they took my thoughts and opinions seriously, and with that I was able to complete the process of this divorce. They went the extra yard at the end to make sure that all the documents that were completed were signed or signed correctly and dated correctly before returning me the information in a professional binder.A new start is in the works, but I know that I would have never gotten to this point where I am without the help and honesty of the Heritage Legal office.Cudos to every one over there.

Heritage Legal was excellent. Chris was pleasant and patient. He talked with you and did not use legalese terms that I didnt understand. He was punctual and had all of the documents done on time. Chris did our estate planning and trusts. He is very attentive and knowledgeable on the issues and answered all of our questions. I appreciate that on some issues he said he wanted to do research to make sure of the best way to proceed. He also has been very good about following up with us. Great and very easy experience. I wanted to find an attorney that had a significant LGBTQ estate planning practice so I reached out to my friends, neighbors and former colleagues for referrals. I am a retired lawyer and tend to be critical of other lawyers work. Chris Heritage is very good at what he does. He explains to the client what his view of the estate plan appropriate for you. Then he leads you through the decisions that you need to make, gently prodding you to clarify your thinking. He also draws a decision tree as you proceed, so you can see the plan taking shape. My partner and I were impressed by ease and clarity of the process, which must be the result of extensive experience and a first class legal mind. We recently retired to Palm Springs from Virginia. We had to have our wills/estate planning updated since gay marriage was not legal in VA when we first had the planning done in 2014. Chris Heritage and his firm took care of everything we needed. Chris went into great detail explaining why he structured our estate the way he did. We were able to do the entire project with two video conferences and a 30 minute meeting in his offices to sign off the documents. The entire process took 3 weeks. It was not easy choosing a lawyer, during a pandemic, after moving to a city where you dont know anyone to offer recommendations. Chris was the right choice and he was also able to explain the issues that gay married couples might encounter.
