The instructors were so thoughtful and informative here at the Otay academy. Even though there were a lot of students they communicated in a way where it felt one on one. This program was short and effective I learned so much from the instructors here. If I could do it again I would. I want to say my thanks to Priscilla and Maricela for being awesome at teaching/helping!

I truly had the best experience at Healthcare Science Academy, if I could do it all over again I would. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but Gerald, Priscilla, Maricela, Emily, and Jes did a phenomenal job. You can really tell that they care about their students and their journey to achieve their goals/aspirations. They make each and every student feel welcomed and are always there to help/guide you and answer any questions you might have about the material. If you are looking to enroll in a CNA program, hands down this is your best option! I was well prepared by all of the instructors and passed my state exam on my first try! I appreciate everyone at the program, both the instructors and the new friends I made. This is a huge stepping stone towards my nursing career and there is no other program I would have rather done this with (:

This is the best school to attend if you plan on becoming a CNA, everyone is really nice and they make sure to answer all question. This school has different schedules and you can always pick the one that best works for you in my case I was able to work and study.

I had been trying to decide where to take a CNA course at for months because I knew I’d have to balance it with college classes as well. Not only was Healthcare Science Academy accommodating and flexible, they also offered plenty of study materials and extra time to practice at the school in order to help you feel more confident going into the state exam. On top of that, the instructors were awesome! Maricela and Ashlee kept things fun, and every day they showed up with a good attitude that made you excited to be there. It’s a great place to start or continue your journey in healthcare.

Had an amazing experience working with Ms. Priscilla for the 16 week fast track CNA course. The instructor explained all the course material thoroughly and in an easy to understand manner. She was also available during our clinical hours to help answer questions regarding patient care. After taking the course I felt well prepared for the state exam and got through the written and skills tests with ease. I highly recommend going through this school if you want to start your career in nursing!

I was going back and forth about getting into the medical field, especially with nursing. The beginning of 2024 I was let go from my job and it was hard for me to find a position that was the right fit for me. I always thought about starting all over again and go into nursing, but I didn’t want to be that “old lady” in class with a bunch of younger people. But what the heck.. I need to start somewhere. I kid you not… this is probably the 3rd time that I circled back to nursing.So I was looking for the right place to go to school for CNA. I didn’t want to take to the long route because I wanted to get it done quickly and start working. If you’re looking for a program to jump start your career, Healthcare Science Academy is where you should start. The staff is really helpful if you have questions with the skills portion and the lectures are quick, but very thorough. The staff as well as the students have motivated me to continue onward to getting my RN. I don’t have any regrets in the decision that I made.

I took a mobile CPR/ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification renewal course through the Healthcare Science Academy with their CNA students. They provided textbooks and the study guides make the class learner friendly. Our instructor basically taught to the post exam so it was impossible fail. The e-card usually emails within 24-48 hours, but I got mine on the same day.

Eastlake location- Appreciate the good work my instructors gave me. Priscilla made time for me after class when I asked for a skills mock test, I volunteered and applied myself as it should be. She is patient and perceptive, supported me with any questions I had. Maricela was a great support as well providing online training to study off site bringing in enthusiasm and energy, both providing duo support to the class. Front desk Jess was informative and nice.Ashley from el Cajon who I met at clinicals and back at eastlake office was very helpful and knew how to provide immediate support to my questions. For all future applicants take full advantage of this course, dont get comfortable and come late and miss out, engage consistently and make the most of your curriculum experience and knowledge growth. Sooo thankful to have done this program. I only took this program for the sake of obtaining some points into a nursing program but I got more out of it than just that. I was not expecting to have so much fun & I was able to get out of my comfort zone & along the way met so many nice people who I got to become friends with. The staff/instructors were very good. Priscilla, Gerald, & every other staff there were always encouraging/supportive to the students. My instructor was Priscilla and she was always nice and helpful to all and did ALL that was needed to make sure everyone would pass their state exam. I recommend taking this program it’s worth it. I completed my Basic Life Support BLS) for Healthcare Providers and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the Healthcare Science Academy on the same day. The material is easy to learn if you follow the study guide they provide. Passed the written and skills portion and I received my e-cards via email from the American Heart Association the next day. Loved my experience at this school! I was a hybrid student, which meant I wasn’t in the classroom for the whole time of the program, but they still gave me the materials I needed to succeed and do well. Priscilla, Gerald, and Maricela were amazing at providing me the support I needed and answered all of my questions and concerns to help me learn in the best way. I highly recommend doing the CNA program at the Healthcare Science Academy because it was such an enjoyable, engaging, and enriching learning experience for me. My instructor was Priscilla and she was amazing! She was so helpful and knowledgeable. Her and all of the other staff members were always so welcoming and never hesitated to answer any questions the students had about the class content, format of the class, and/or state exam. When you walk through the door, you can really feel how much their team cares about the success of their students and the effort they put in to cultivate such a supportive and productive learning environment. I did the class and started in February in Chula Vista originally supposed to be in El cajon but it got moved to Chula Vista My instructor was great she was very informative made sure I understood everything that was going on made the class fun and interesting it was the weekend class she was very understanding and got everything that was going on around made sure we understood The program made sure that we understood what was going on in our clinicals Im very very glad that we got her as our instructor name is Marcella I I 100% appreciate everything she did for our class If I do any other classes hopefully I get her again I would love to have her as their instructor again Im hoping that this school has other classes coming up is at some point I want to do LVN program Im hoping that the school has it at some point that way I can go into that as well I just want to stick with the schooling because its very informative and they stick with you all the way through so healthcare science academy thank you for everything

My friend recommended Healthcare Science Academy and I am glad I went with them. Our instructors/staff Priscilla, Maricela, Jess, and Gerald were amazing. They have other great staff as well. This is a great program if you are looking to get CNA certified! I chose the 16 day accelerated track and learned so much. The staff is incredible and I’ve really appreciated how much they pushed us to succeed. Shoutout to Gerald, Priscilla, and Maricela- you guys are the best. Learning both theory and skills during the 16 days was challenging but the program prepared us very well for the state exam. I loved how they offered a hybrid option for people who had busier schedules. During the program you also get CPR/AED certified which is life saving as many other CPR programs are very costly. They also offer other program plans like an evening only class, weekend only class, etc. overall, they are flexible and organized and foster a great learning environment where they want their students to succeed.

I joined the July 2020 cohort and it was a very enjoyable with past paced training which only took 22 days. The first two week were at the Chula Vista campus where we did class room studies and skills lab practice. The last two weeks took place at a skilled nursing facility to actually practice hands-on which was was a great experience! The main instructor, Maricela, was awesome! She is very down-to-earth and made learning fun! She made the class feel comfortable with her humor. The class is very affordable and worth it! Its a lot of information, but the curriculum is set up to where its paced in a good way where its a mix of skills and theory. Tons of practice time in the skills lab and its very affordable. I just completed the 16 day full time program at Healthcare Science Academy. The instructors Priscilla and Maricela made class fun, comfortable and welcoming. Gerald the program administrator was always very kind and all the staff are great mentors for those starting out in their health professions. I chose this program because of the fast track option and for the cost of tuition and left confident in my skills and ability to provide great patient care.---My only recommendation is that they find a new person to do the Live Scan background check and fingerprinting and cease business relations through that vendor. She is NOT affiliated with the academy but she is unbelievably rude and unprofessional in her demeanor and service manner and she left my form incomplete and the state testing agency sent me a letter regarding my incomplete application due to her mistake.

My overall experience taking this course was very pleasant! The instructor, Maricela, was very knowledgeable and the course in general was super informative. I just finished my evening course at HSA and it was the most amazing experience! It was four weeks of classroom learning then four weeks of clinicals. Emily is the teacher in the evening and she is the sweetest, best teacher! Her teaching style is very laid back and she explains everything clearly and and in perfect detail. She loves answering questions and truly engages her students and makes sure everyone is on the right track and knows what they’re doing. Besides being an amazing teacher she’s such a sweetheart and really values everyone’s time and energy. I was quiet nervous taking this program but I do NOT regret it at all! I highly recommend this program, everyone and staff are very nice, helpful, and make teaching fun for their students. I was recommended this program by a friend and I too will be recommending this program to all of my friends that are interested in the medical field. I had an amazing learning experience with the staff and classmates. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help each student in our own individual needs. They teach you everything you need to know to pass the exam skills and written. My daughters and sister is going to take this course as will. I enrolled into the academy’s CNA program and passed the state exam first time around!! What drew me to this program was the option of completing elements of the course online. As an undergraduate student at another university, I was worried that I wouldn’t have the time for the program. However, with the online option, I was able to complete the modules at my own convenience, as well as go in to practice my skills! The instructors are great and make the material fun to learn. Loved this program! I didnt know what I was getting myself into at first, but Maricela is the funniest instructor and she really knows how to teach this CNA program. She cuts out all the fluff and tells you what is ACTUALLY important as a nursing assistant. Priscilla is the sweetest instructor and she is always there to answer any questions and clarify any of the skills that we practice. This is such a flexible program, especially since I had separate classes for nursing school to attend. I wouldnt have completed my program anywhere else. Just renewed my CPR certification from the Healthcare Science Academy. I took the course with Mr. G and a few of the Nurse Assistant Students on campus that made it really fun. The course goes by quick (about 2 hours for a renewal) and it’s fun and easy. Post exam is open book and you can use your phone if you really need to search for answers. Highly recommend.

Out of all the programs near me, healthcare science academy stood out. Not only was the price the best, the program was also really fast. I was skeptical in being able to learn everything in such a short time. But I was able to, both teachers explained everything well and made sure we understood every section. Great place to go to if your looking to get your cna license, the people here are super helpful, flexible, really cool and walk you through everything step by step… it was also nice how they submitted paperwork for us and had our live scan done there at the school. I also thought it was super awesome that they had a school in El Cajon which is closer to me than the Chula Vista school. I was kinda picky when choosing a school but I’m so glad I went here… Don’t even worry about choosing a school just go here and you won’t regret it.

Despite the long drive from upper San Diego, I enjoyed my experience as a CNA student in Healthcare Science Academy. Maricella is an awesome instructor and helped me understand skills from procedural steps to the testing requirements. I also enjoyed my time at the clinical through HSA, not only did it help me experience the real situation, but it also made me realize what I need to improve on and what I am good at. I highly recommend CNA program by HSA. It is quick and intensive course, but you will definitely get your money worth of education and experience. I am so content with the program, I will be doing additional Restorative Nursing Assistance program later this month, which I am looking froward to learn.
