This was my first visit to Hayward Honda for A1 service (oil change). The service staff was very professional and courteous. They did what they said.I liked the driver drop-off and pick-up offered by Hayward Honda which saved my 2+ hours Instead of waiting at their center.Overall a pleasant experience.

Bong was incredibly professional, personable and made my experience way better than I anticipated. This being my first car purchase, I was anxious about dealing with car dealerships trying to nickel and dime me, and Im grateful that Bong was not like that. Interestingly, Hayward Honda gave the best initial impression because Bong responded to my first email with exactly what I asked for (cost breakdown/out-the-door price). I cant say the same for some of the Peninsula Honda dealerships who preferred to give me a runaround. I ended up finding a better deal at Stevens Creek Honda but they were still waiting for the car to get in. In an interesting twist of fate, Bong called me to follow-up and was able to give me a better deal at Hayward than Stevens Creek, and I was able to get my car that evening. All-in-all, the process took 2.5 hours (mostly due to one of the finance team members being out sick).

Easiest car purchase ever. Hash was a pleasure to work with. He was patient and considerate and responded to all my questions. The CR-v had a heavy tint on the back window and I could not see through it. After discussion they decided to replace the back window instead of trying to remove the tint.Matt, the finance person, was also great. He explained the paperwork and also answered all my questions.Hayward Honda provides great customer and takes away the anxiety of buying a vehicle.

I want to thank Savannah for being so helpful and kind, she was also very accommodating and educated me on the things that my car needed. I’ve had my Honda Accord for five years and not once did I know that my key fob actually has a key that comes out of it lol. Everyone at the end of the day is part of the customer service world, and we know how we like to be treated as customers. Savannah provided excellent customer service. I was able to get my pilot in for an oil change and tire rotation as a walk in because they had availability. She checked me in, offered my son and I a Lyft if we didn’t want to wait at their lobby, notified me when the car was done, went over services provided and condition of the tires and engine, pulled my car out of their lot and turned on the heater and seat warmers because it was a cold evening. I was impressed by her genuine care for us and would recommend all my loved ones to see her. Thank you Savannah!

I recently had bad experiences at other dealerships throughout the East Bay but I gravitated towards Honda Hayward because not only did they have the car I wanted, but I saw it was a family owned and operated business.I was helped by Jennifer who took all my must haves, budget, and trade-in car into consideration. Jennifer was not pushy at all but instead she gave me several options that fit my criteria and allowed me time to make the right decision.I visited this dealership twice within a week. Working with Savannah made my overall experience very smooth and seamless. I reached out to Hayward Honda after replacing my windshield and still experiencing water leaking into the left side of my car from all the heavy rainfall we’ve been getting. I meant to post this a few weeks ago but life happens...I am sure this is not everyones experience but be careful about bringing your car here.My biggest grip was the lack of communication. The service desks folks here are nice but thats as far as Ill go.I had warranty from an outside dealer & thats where 2 of the problems come to play. First things first, everything was off to a great start, i got a call about my car & the problems that would need to be repaired and that I can expect to have my car fixed tomorrow once a claim was submitted to warranty (Wednesday)2 days later I call on Friday after hearing nothing about my car & was told they cant get a hold of warranty to have a claim filed. So you know what a smart person does? Call warranty! Guess what No claim submitted...I call again Monday & try to get a 3 way call with warranty on the line. They nicely obliged and Honda Haward hangs up the phone.I go on that Tuesday and asked if they can wave my diagnostic fee & return my car. And they nicely obliged. Point is if you have an outside warranty. DO NOT GO HERE!They will try to undermine your warranty and have you think its your warranty thats not covering the repairIf you can make it GO to Capitol HONDA.They fixed my car in 2 days and honored my warranty. If you dont take 3rd party warranty just say that! My car sat there for 6 days!

The car that I had agreed upon, a CR-V EX AWD, after many communications, was waiting for me at the front when I arrived. The price quoted was the price given. We went over the quote and she gave multiple discounts. Post maintenance, she walked me thru the details and I paid for the service. When she went to fetch my car, I realized I forgot to ask about the car wash at the time of drop-off. I asked her if it was feasible now. She took care of it right away! While driving back, I remembered that one of the papers was missing. So, I sent her an email and she called back that she will be sending it out. The next day, she sent the missing paper and walked me thru the details.This is what I mean by closing the loop! Kudos to Savannah for a wonderful and stress-free experience. Ive been going to Hayward Honda to service my 2018 Accord for about 5 years and Ive been extremely satisfied every time. Feel like Im well taken care of by the Service associates, that my car is getting a comprehensive inspection and that the team is taking a thorough look at the car to ensure its safety without trying to tack on unnecessary services or fees. Want to call out Savannah Rivera, my Service Advisor during my car appointment this week: She booked ride share rides for me so i could leave and get back, provided a thorough explanation of the inspection report (including helping me better understand the tire/brake health and replacement schedules), got my car a (well needed!) car wash at the end of service and just in general made the appointment very pleasant. I had a negative experience at Hayward Honda yesterday. However, the experienced salespersons behavior was a nightmare. Despite my budget being around $400 for leasing, he quoted close to $700 and became furious when I mentioned negotiation. He stereotyped me based on my origin and was disrespectful throughout.Today, I visited another Honda dealer, where I felt valued as a customer. Regardless of my final choice between Honda and Toyota, I wont return to Hayward Honda. The manager at Hayword, is aware of the incident, and I hope they address such disrespectful behavior. Thanks to the managers concern, I still have a positive view of Honda, but the salespersons behavior prevented me from making a purchase/ deceision.Im baffled by his claimed 30+ years of experience in the industry. His few disrespectful comments and action:1. After repeatedly mentioning my nationality, he kept asking Where are you originally from? - Seriously?2. So you are not in the market, wasting time - Are you selling cloth on a sunday market?3. Give me a number so I can help you - I told you the number you could help me to figure out what is the best way4. I did my homework, so I knew, none of them showed me the car features, all they said, what ever you want its included in this Honda touring. - Please go to any other dealer and try to learn how to show car features. And compare how it is different from another line.5. His overall attiude was that you have to decide NOW - which immidiately made me think - why? any issue with the car that you are trying to sell quick? Come on! this is honda, it will sell any ways.Definitely not pointing their quality, and Honda product, but they absolutely need better reps

Update - So still not sure what happened with the paperwork that caused the problem. They claimed it was an address issue on Hondas system side not being able to tell if our address was a street, drive, court etc.IF this was/is the case, not sure why we were not given any written explanation as such (still havent gotten a formal explanation). Not to mention no compensation of any type given for personal time taken to help resolve the issue. We made a payment directly to dealership to help avoid a lack in payment for lease. Things finally seem to be on track with Honda Financial, and nothing new needed to be signed.Updating to give 1 more star because at least the facility is new, ( though they could use some USB charging ports for customers) and they have a fair amount of inventory to choose from. All in all still not sure I would recommend this place.____________________________________________________________There is something possibly going on at this dealership.Started a lease for a 2024 CR-V Hybrid in November 2023 and have yet to get any notice in December from Honda Financial about any payment due. Fast forward to Christmas eve and this dealership emails saying something has happened, but they cant specify what, and a payment in person needs to be made.I came down yesterday and now for some reason it seems I need to sign new paperwork? This was a co lessee situation and as far as Im aware, both parties would need to be present to sign. At least all the numbers still match up for payment due, but the date on the paperwork differs from the original. (side story - also got forced into buying $1000+ lo-jack option even though I mentioned to the sales rep I did not need any extra options)I have reached out to them asking for an email explanation in writing because I want some sort of written documentation that this was not on us. We have yet to hear back after a full working business day.So far definitely not recommending this place to anyone. This is exactly why buying cars from dealerships get a bad rap.

My low tire alert came on in my new 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid, so I called Robert at the service department of Hayward Honda. He said to bring the car in, and when I got there he checked all my tires and found a nail in one. He had his mechanics repair the tire while I waited at the dealership. They have a very nice spacious waiting area. It was an easy experience, and I was on my way quickly. Robert and the crew at Hayward Honda’s service department are all really friendly and helpful. Robert knows so much about Hondas. He’s a great resource for me since I’m still learning about my new hybrid. Always ready to answer any questions I have.

I’m so glad I was able to get my car in for service before they moved locations to further down Mission Blvd away from my home. I was able to drop off my car in the morning for the A/C product advisor service and just cross the street to walk home. Robert was great at giving me an update within the time he estimated that they’d be able to let me know if my car would need further service. Luckily, I had an early 7am appointment so by the time I got the update later in the morning that they’d need to keep my car for the rest of the day to replace the 2 parts my car needed (fell under the extended warranty), they were able to get the service done same day! It’s now one week later and my A/C is still running strong thanks to their hard work.

We have been looking for a new Accord for about a month. We went to a number of local dealers with terrible results. My wife has a friend that told her to look in Hayward. I went online and found exactly what we were looking for, a 2023 Accord. It had very low miles and was priced better than any other Accord we were looking at. I sent an email inquiry and received an almost immediate response from the internet sales manager Jennifer Reyna. We set up an appointment and went to take a look. The dealer is about 55 miles from our home so we were hoping it was not a waste of time. Jennifer was waiting for us when we arrived with the keys. BUYER BEWARE!!!Especially purchasing a used car here.Went in to buy a used car for $26,900 at Hayward Honda. I agreed to let them look for financing for me. I was working with a member of the team named Kipp. Kipp took it upon himself to add several services to the overall financing without my knowledge. He added Lojack for $1,495, PORTFOLIO (an extended warranty) for $3,495, EXPRESS 5 for $895 and finally GAP insurance for $895. He then provided financing that included all of the additions without telling me.In the past my experience is that dealers offer you the additions as an option, not sneak them into the financing without your consent or knowledge. Kipp and the team were extremely friendly, but all the while taking advantage me. I would never recommend this place to anyone. If you do decide to do business with them watch everything very closely and dont be afraid to ask questions if things seem fishy.

I was scheduled to have my car’s regular maintenance at 8:30am and I got there a little bit early.The agent told me that it takes about an hour and a half for their work to be done so I decided to wait.Then it was past 11am and haven’t heard from them, so I made a follow up and it turned out that they haven’t touched my car and haven’t started any work at all. Arrived at approximately 1:15 and informed the service representative that I would wait for my car. Im from Washington. I called Hayward Honda and asked if they sold to out-of-state customers and salesrep responded how are you going to buy it? which came off rude but Ill answer it. I offered wire, check, pre-approved financing. I could even offer cash. Once a deal is made, I mentioned I can fly down and drive up or have it transported by a vehicle carrier. Shouldnt they be the ones to suggest their financing / delivery options instead of the other way around? Ive bought cars from California (Ocean Honda in Burlingame), Oregon, and Florida before with no issues securing deals over phone, text, and emails before making travel arrangements. Sounds like Hayward doesnt have experience in this area and the salesrep eventually said you have to be here to buy. Which I understand, some dealers prefer local customers but at least their responses were more graceful sorry, unfortunately, we cant sell out of state. The salesrep at Hayward Honda presented rude and inexperienced and is the reason for this review.

Service is very bad now. Waited 35 minutes past our appointment time. Then in was insulting, Giselle, didnt even believe us that the AC wasnt working, she said, its blowing cold air now It was 50 degrees outside! Of course it was blowing cold air. Then while checking it, the broke the frame on the front radar, And shoved the front bumper on so it was blocking the radar from working. Then had to take it back, again had to wait over half an hour past the appointment time. So they fix the AC, but broke something else, killed lights on the dash. Was told they had order a board because it blew a transistor, was told theyd call when the board came in, over a week still nothing. The service waiting area is a joke, you cant even get a drink of water, they have no cups out and no one working inside to ask for one. I cant believe how bad this service center is now. It used to be great.

Bought my first brand new Honda from here and the two dealers afghan and phillipino were playing good cop/bad cop. Had horrible a time here.took 3 hours and made me sign a higher APR saying I had $50 in unpaid collections for some fire station local tax, which after contacting the collectors found out that city and them were sending bill to a non existent apt#. LoLEssentially they made me feel so bad that I cant pay a $50 bill so they were gonna put me at a higher APR loan from Honda. Even though you dont buy from them, they are give good respect to you as they know that you wont get a better price anywhwere and come back to them. One of the good showroom in bay area.in my case, we visited other places and got the quotes and fed up with higher prices. finally we went to honda hayward where we got the best price compared to other places and we purchased the car.

Came in after moving here from WA state and car had broke down on the way. We were up front about our price options and were told they could make it work even with a cosigner outside of the state. After repeatedly not staying within our budget and telling us we should take the deal anyways, we were forced to leave after 4+ hours of wasted time. We were both late for work by several hours. Not only that, but the staff told us we needed to apologize for wasting their time and not taking the deal. If you dont have $20,000 to put down or $500+ to pay per month, dont go here. The one positive was the salesman took my mother to the airport so we wouldnt be another hour late for work. Cesar was polite, but the business was not what we were told we would get.

Not a great customer experience.Seemed like they didn’t want to give me the time of day. The sales person offered up next to no insight on the vehicle & just wanted to pretend to negotiate only to say the price couldn’t move. Most concerning- they absolutely would not allow a test drive despite repeated requests. What’s the point of shopping here?To top it all off, on the car I was considering, the interior door panel was full of water. Clearly someone left a window open in the rain. What a great sign.I took my money elsewhere and bought a car the next day at another Honda dealer. Plenty to choose from in the area.

As a first time buyer I had a great experience buying my first car. I went to other dealerships and they were trying to sell me cars that turned out to be sold already or just didnt have cars in my price range. Thankfully I got the help I needed. Imagine being in fear of your car failing on you, while driving on the freeway even AFTER you have had it supposedly inspected by Hayward Honda’s Service department. The service here is just terrible when it comes to the administrative people at the desks.I simply needed the air on my car tires checked because they were visibly very low. I went in around 10 am on Sunday morning, and the two females at the service department’s reception desk were assisting others. One seemed polite and professional whilst apologizing for me having to wait in line for a while but that she would help me as soon as she got back from helping her customer. The other remained there and although, nobody was there, continued to ignore me even though she had seen me waiting for a while. I saw another female customer walk in and she was immediately offered help. The customer clearly stated she did not have an appointment and that she saw I had been there before she arrived. Even though the customer clearly stated this to the female working at the desk, her response was “that’s okay”.I was appalled by her blatant disregard towards me. So, I told her myself, politely “excuse me, I was here before her, I have been waiting. Her reply: “that’s okay”.I don’t know what on earth could possibly justify this type of unprofessionalism and flat out disrespect. I then replied to her and said “no, that’s not okay. Please help me. I arrived before her”. She exhaled and begrudgingly decided to help me. I told her I simply needed the air pressure on my tires checked. She continued to tell me she couldn’t find me in their system even though I have purchased my vehicle from that exact location and have been coming there since, since 2019. When she finally found my records, she was unable to answer any questions I had about the last service I had done and when it was, and kept dismissing me with her abrupt responses including “I don’t know. We can figure that out later.” I asked her if I can at least make an appointment then, and she made me an appointment. Meanwhile, she said she would take my car to the service department, and have them check my tires. When she came back, she wouldn’t even allow me to speak to the service tech who inspected my tires, claiming he was already on lunch. I was very concerned about my SAFETY and making sure my car was safe to drive. When I stepped out, I saw the service tech was still around and working - clearly not on lunch. I implored him for a few minutes of his time to simply ask about my tires because the interactions I had, made me feel very rushed and she neither could even tell me the mileage on my car or what on earth the tire pressure was, should be, but only that it had been low and that it was taken care of.Today, I drove on the freeway and could hear my tires - that’s how low the air was. I was terrified of them exploding or my car crashing suddenly.Do not go this location if you truly value the condition, functionality, and reliability of your vehicle!!This is a huge liability when a “service” department fails to do their job on a vehicle. Extremely dangerous and life threatening.I will not return to this location. Also, they hardly ever answer their phones so you can actually make an appointment. The female working there was of Asian descent, had long hair, and her name started with a ‘J’.Terrible! Uncomfortable. Clearly hostile.

5 Star Experience. I could not be happier. Took my Honda in for a battery check and ended up with brake fluid change and new battery which I needed. What a nice team at Hayward Honda. Preston managed my services and kept me informed .The waiting room was comfortable, TV provided as well as snacks and fruit. What a nice way to treat your customers. Ive been a customer for a few years and the service just keeps getting better. As an added bonus you get your car washed. The young man who washed my car, did so as if it were his. The radio stopped working in my car. This happened due to the fact that my battery was discharged. There is some problem with the code. We called them. They said it would take 10 minutes to fix the radio. And so it was. Also, they did not charge us for this service. Thank you Honda! I recommend this place. They also left this code written on a piece of paper in case it happened again, which we could fix ourselves.

We purchased a car last week and very pleased with the service they provided. Eugine was amazing. He went through the deal with patience. Addressed all our concerns. He made sure we were happy at the end. Ray his partner was very good too. He took us to another parking lot to show other cars and very nice with us. John the finance guy was also very very good. He took time to go through the contract, explain things and also he made us buy the extended warranty for good :)What stood out was even though it was midnight, Eugine and John did not compromise on anything. They went over the whole process with energy. I would recommend this place to anyone anytime.Drawbacks were: Emails were not answered sometimes and the finance was scheduled very late in the night.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I had scheduled a 9:30 appointment and for one reason or another it was not confirmed. I received a call from Honda of Hayward, and they were able to squeeze me in at 10:15 for an oil change. Once I mentioned the type of car they informed me that a part was recalled, and ordered it on my behalf which was great. I was helped by man named George Lopez whose service was great, and even gave me a courtesy car wash to apologize for the wait time. Their staff is amazing!

Shawn is an amazing person to work with. His genuine concern for the the satisfaction of his customers goes well beyond what I have experienced from the service industry in general. He is always more than willing to answer any and all of my questions and speaks to me in a way that isnt patronizing. He always has a cheerful and upbeat demeanor (even at 7am on a Saturday!). If I could rate him a 5 star alone I would!The only reason I dropped this rating to a 3 star was from the fact that on my last service I went in for new tires, oil change and new filters, I ended up being there for just shy of 6 hours! I got there at 9am (my appointment was at 9:15am) and didnt walk out of the building until 2:56pm. The technicians couldnt seem to give me or Shawn a window on how long it would be before my car was completed. I understand that there was an additional bit of work that needed to be done that wasnt caught until the time of service but being there for 6 HOURS with no real estimate on when the work would be complete isnt acceptable to say the least.I have been a customer since 2013 (when I bought my Honda) and prior to this I had NEVER had to wait for more than 2 hours for any services I had done. To say I am sorely disappointed is an understatement.If it wasnt for Shawns continued excellence in customer service, I wouldnt hesitate to find somewhere else to get my car serviced at.

They have always taken good care of my car, and will continue to be my service provider.Update May 13, 2020A Honda of Hayward employee picked up my 06 Accord at my home in a nearby city for no-contact service on Monday. They performed extensive work on the car, which has never had any major repairs over the ensuing years, and brought the car back to my home on Wednesday, after fully sanitizing it. The key and documents had been sanitized before I removed them from the bags in which they were returned. The Honda personnel who came to my home were masked and gloved, and maintained a 6-foot distance. As usual, I am completely satisfied with their service.

We first saw the car on AutoTrader, and I sent in an inquiry. Unlike other dealers, Anna Marie called me up and we set up an appointment for later that day. Very happy with the service we received, and we werent even at the dealership yet. So, we made the drive out to the dealer (we lived an hour away, but really wanted the color scheme of the one we saw). We went inside and met Anna Marie, and she blew us away with her hospitality and charm. She made us feel zero pressure and was willing to let us take the van out on our own for a drive. We liked being able to do so, since we could try it out without feeling like we are being watched, and we could discuss among the family how we feel about the van. We got back to the dealership and sat with Anna Marie who went through the details of purchasing. She was patient with us since we were first time buyers, and she reviewed everything with us. In the end, she worked with us and figured out a purchase plan that met our needs and fell within our means. After meeting with KC and finishing up the paperwork, we left with the van! Such a smooth experience!

Plain and simple, I knew more about the car I was interested in compared to the salesperson I spoke with. He did not listen to my questions nor give answers to my questions, but beat around the bush. His comment was Its all online anyways. This sales person would not allow me to test drive the car when asked and would not even open the car up for me to see inside/sit inside. Overall, customer service was extremely poor and I would recommend shopping for a car elsewhere.

It was my first time there and had a long wait before I got seen for my appointment which was really bummer. When I was finally assisted. Things went very smooth in general. Ron was so awesome, he was thorough and gave me options for my vehicle service need. He was also pretty accurate with the time estimate of service and also catered to my individual need as customer since I had important errands to make that day. I almost didn’t make it, but he went out of his way to sped up the process. He was fantastic and I might go back for this reason!

The Honda Hayward shop is the only place I take my civic that I bought from their dealer.I always have great customer service experience with all their departments. During the pandemic I had to do the routine oil change and I just did not want to leave my home so I got an email with a coupon for the service from Bonnie and she mentioned new concierge service which would pick up my car and drop it off my house. I thought it was perfect time period and i went ahead and scheduled for 9 am but the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because my car got picked up at around 9:45 am. The service went like always; I was told about the estimate total and what other services might be needed before they went ahead to do the services and payed over the phone when done. The coolant draining and oil change did take all the way until 4:40 pm so pretty much all day though.

Showed up at 3 for appointment. Waited in service office for 10 minutes before anyone even talked to me. 2 guys came in and out, ignored me, worked on computer. Finally Oscar said well be with you in a while. Then they told me someone was in front of me, getting a tire. I said that shouldnt affect me, Im getting trans oil change. 5 minutes later, Bill walked in, and said hed take care of me. He took the paperwork, and led me to his office. He processed my information, and was very professional about it. He told me that 3 guys hadcalled in sick. I replied thats too bad, but that the 2 guys in the service office should haveacknowledged my presence as soon as they came in the office, being ignored is not good customer service. Bill said I could wait in the waiting room, I did, the car was done within 45 minutes. When I paid, I found out that Bill was a manager, which made sense. He knows what good customer service is all about. He deserves a raise. Your customer service employees deserve more training.

Making an appointment online really did help speed up the process. Went in at 8AM and waiting roughly 2hrs? I did not mind the wait because I was studying for classes, so it was a good use of my time. My advisor, Preston Williams, was very prompt and courteous. Much appreciated. I have been going to Honda of Hayward Service for years and have never been disappointed until now. Lets start with the service experience, I got there 10 minutes before my appointment time and ended up waiting for about 40 minutes before i was helped. It seems my original advisor was out sick so the advisor that took over, Robert helped me. He was very helpful, on top of the oil change my car needed he suggested a tire rotation, which I agreed to (at a cost of $24.95 that I wasnt informed of). I returned when my vehicle was ready, in a rush to get back to work I paid and immediately left (not to mention that the worker who was supposed to be manning the desk for checkout/payment was nowhere to be found, after waiting and looking for 10 minutes I went back to grab my advisor so that I could get my car). Once I got home I was surprised to find the tire rotation I paid $24.95 for was not done, i know this as it was indicated in the notes for service. Since my service date of 7/29/2020 I have been calling, emailing and trying to get a hold of someone to get this taken care of and I have not received one call or email back. Nonetheless if this is how customer complaints are now being handled then I will have to get my car serviced elsewhere.
